Stopped because google said they were open but they’re actually closed and the guy was rude and hung up on us. It’s by appointment only but ut doesn’t state that anywhere….don’t waste your time folks.

Great guy, has a nice shop in the middle of The Stone River battle field and maybe 1/8th of a mile from the union cemetery. Seems like he is taking appointment only now so call ahead.

I have had a wonderful experience with Larry. He is a book of civil war knowledge, trustworthy and the only relic collector/dealer I could ever imagine working with. Larry welcomed my family into his shop and it is truly a fascinating collection of “Toys”. I routinely have items shipped to my home and the shipping is very reliable. You can tell Larry has shipped a few thousand things given the package stability. I HIGHLY recommend working with Larry. As a matter of fact I might just call him now..ha!

By far the kindest hearted gentleman I know in the relics business. Always treats customer great weather starting out as a newbie collecting or a advanced collector. Larry will take the time to explain properly about the relics and history behind themif you are looking for a item to begin or complete your collection call or stop by and visit Larry at his shop. You will be truly amazed

Every time I see Larry at a show, someone there is asking him to provide information about their relic (FOR FREE) and he always finds the time to do so. I have been educated just by looking at Larry’s web site (daily). Don’t let one person keep you from helping the rest of us who do appreciate your help and knowledge.

The shop owner is personable and takes a lot of time with each customer. His knowledge of the relics he has in his shop, and the Civil War in general is exceptional. It’s like walking in to a museum, only you can purchase items you see! Call ahead - he no longer has regular hours, but he tries to make himself available as much as possible. I had a fantastic experience, and learned a lot.

Having done business with Larry Hicklen for more than 30 years, theres no other person in the Civil War relic trade that I trust more. Like countless others, Larry is one of the primary reasons I got into this hobby. I purchased my first artifact from Larry 33 years ago. Just as he was then, Larry continues to be one of the most knowledgeable, respectful, reliable, and trustworthy gentleman around. Larrys passion for this era of history, his unmatched knowledge of the artifacts that tell its story, and his willingness to share his wisdom with others is unrivaled. This is the right kind of guy to do business with!

I have no doubt the owner has a good reputation but when I went on Friday March 8th, 2019, it was semi closed and asking for a one dollar admission. Drove down from Cincinnati to see the battlefield and check out the relics. Just never been asked to pay an admission. Hopefully I can be back soon.

Purchased an 1863 Springfield rifle from this place a while ago over the phone. It was well packed and shipped to Chicago. I will purchase again from this wonderful place.

I base my review on show participation. The owner generally has a good reputation. However I was disappointed that he stated that a genuine Hardee badge was not original. In fact it has a modern backing but was an original item .Disappointing. 4 others experts didnt agree with him...What I find unacceptable is when as business through ancillary means tries to bolster ratings on Google. This backfires and 2 more disgruntled patrons contacted me. The proper thing to do is to respond...many do. I would drop this rating but will give a chance for a response. Im not picking on this business....I have rated as t least a dozen others with mixed results....Just trying to be fair and objective☆I upped this to 3 stars....Thanks for the feedback...☆☆☆☆
