I have come to this market for nearly 4 years, and I have yet to find a place that exemplifies customer service better than Shaku Maku. Their food is also fantastic.

I absolutely loved this place, their own hand made sweets and bread are delicious and they give you a lot for a low price! This small shop has everything + a variety of fresh halal meat. I will definitely be making it my new go-to shop for halal food and meat!! :D

Shaku Maku is by far one of my favorite Middle Eastern stores in Salt Lake City. The owners are great people and their products always exceed expectations. They even shipped products from Kuwait. Definitely give this place a visit. Also, their Iraqi bread is AMAZING!!!

I had the best experience here. Sometimes Im hesitant going into a small Middle Eastern or Desi store because its always iffy how I get approached. (I can get judged by my own people harshly!) But the owner is amazing. He was so sweet and courteous. I felt so good about being in the store. Of course, my intention of going in was for the amazing pastries! And the pastry selection, omg! Theres so many options, I got almost one of everything. Then walked around and checked everything out. I got some tea, coffee, and a dessert mix! He was nice enough to go and ask the lady working how she made it for him the other night! (They must be related or married, I didnt ask lol) I didnt even ask for him to run across the store to ask her. I actually didnt even ask how to make it. He just asked me if I knew how and wanted to be helpful. Hes just that sweet! I will definitely be back. This will forever be my place to get different baklavas and other pastries as well as where I will get my tea and coffee! The prices were great and my favorite tea brand was sold in individual tea bags here! Now I can take my tea everywhere. (I travel a lot!) I usually only see my tea brand in big bulk bags. Idk when they started doing individual bags but super happy I found out they did. Thank you Shaku Maku Market!

I was delighted to find this little locally owned market. The focus is on Iraqi food, but I have been able to find many ingredients for Indian food as well. The owner is very helpful and engaging, and if asked, will share thoughts on recipes.

The service is fantastic and I do all my shopping here!!! Highly recommended!!

A my 4th and final market I went to today, this was my favorite. He man working took the time to help me to make my culinary dreams come true and shared a recipe with me and got the groceries, including cucumbers I didnt have, and of course I needed pastries, he even gave me one to try (DELICIOUS). He took the time to talk to me and even asked when I am due! A wonderful market and a gentleman at the counter!

Merchandise not expired. Prices are average. Some high some low. It looks clean and organized. The owner seems to be from Iraq from the store name. He had lights off fresh looking desserts to try.

Not to mention the owner (Ali) and his staff were super friendly, attentive and went above and beyond to ensure I was a satisfied customer. Love this middle eastern market. This market is stalked with everything. High quality spices, tea, coffee, vegetables, bread, rice, cheese, baklava etc. Staff is always very friendly.

I went here for the first time and was very impressed. Huge selection of baklava. They had Turkish delight. They have a wide variety of other regional/imported foods too. And the staff was very friendly. Im making this a regular stop.

I usually shop at another Arabic store, but now this is my new go to market! They are conveniently located on State street and have the nicest staff. The food is fresh and they have lots of delicious treats from the Middle East. Last time I was there I bought the cutest tea set and a warm fuzzy blanket.I highly recommend this store!
