We had a large family group of 22 for lunch. Very good server. A little slow on the food.
Found a place i had never been, wasnt acknowledged as we waited to be seated then the more people entered which i will assume are regulars were directed right on pass and pointed to seats as we still sat and watched patiently!! I cant attest for the food cause my party of 4 was spoken to as we entered our car with the question Are there 4 waiting? No mam 4 leaving, now im really not sure how that process works today.. Fyi could have just been me!! Probably not!!🤷🏾
Wow! The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the strawberry banana pancakes and holy smokes was it tasty and the portion size was so much that I could not finish them. We also had the m&m pancakes and boy were they a kid pleaser. The burger was huge too and so flavorful! We will definitely be going back there. The prices were amazing too!
We went there because it was rated 5 stars...unfortunately for us....most of the things we tried to order...they were out of. What we finally recieved was just okay....vegetables could have spent more time in the steamer meat was a bit dry..and the canned gravy that was poured on top...wasnt the best i have ever tasted by any means...and the garlic butter toast was just to bitter ...Would I ever eat there again....highly doubtful..
Weve ordered take out for breakfast a few times and every time we did our food was very good. Whenever we have extra money to get breakfast we go here. Thank you for having great food.
Today was my first time eating here, but Ill be back for more. It reminded me of the delicious omlettes that I make at home. Friendly staff, good selection, and a clean place.
Edit:*7 Months Later*We came back to see if the Cherokee is just as good as we remember, and sure enough it is. We have noticed places around the area are increasing their prices for the blame of Covid-19, however Cherokee has NOT increased any prices whatsoever. This in my book makes it all the better. Quantity and quality is all the same as before making this place very consistent in its flavors and endeavors it has to offer. I still would pick Cherokee over the others as it is very little wait times (10:00am - 1:00pm) despite being a power hour, and are quick for food to come to order.Original Review:This is our second time back at the Cherokee Restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing from the pancakes to the Texas French toast, and everything in between. Customer service is fantastic and is always accommodating! Compared to many other breakfast places in Muskegon this in my opinion recieved the only 5 star due to its price, taste, and customer service.
Service was great,food...mediocre at best.Went to pay and cashier was so busy visiting let 2 cut in front of me must have been regulars,will not be back!used to be good,not so much on my visit☹

My favorite old time breakfast place. Eggs are the best of any restaurant around. Sausage links are superior to most. This is the place I used to go with my grandmother. You will see a lot of old timers along with teens-90’s. Its wonderful that they haven’t yuppified. They keep old school.Just love them. Food was very good.

Good food. A throwback from the 50s. Indian decor with wood paneling. A restaurant from the Cars movie. I was expecting Native American food but they offer stuff like Swedish Pancakes.

This was very satisfying. It was difficult costing what to order cause there are so many good options on the menu, but I was very happy with what I ordered and so were the other people who were with me. I really liked the French toast. I recommend gravy on the fried potatoes. My friends recommend the homemade chili and said it was good and meaty, just the right blend of ingredients. I can see why theyre so popular.

Our meal was horrible idk how you can mess up a blt but they did i never thought Id turn down bacon and say no I just dont want it. The homemade pastie lol from what I understand horrible it didnt look appetizing.
What a great change from the current trends. An American classic feel. Great food and great service at very reasonable prices. Also very clean and observing all the current requirements. Cant go wrong if youre looking for a classic throwback.

Good breakfast this morning. The Texas French toast was good, they fry it which was surprising, but in a good way. The prices werent bad $30.38 for 3, thats with or coffee. Will be back, friendly service and pretty fast.

Had the sausage gravey omelet, it was hands down, the best omelet Ive ever had. Service was also impeccable. I will be going back frequently.
Unfortunately, service was painfully slow. When the food did arrive, it was very greasy. Lots of misses with service... asked multiple times for coffee and water refill. My mother ordered hot tea and was given the hot water and tea bag, but no cup. I asked for one, waited about 10 minutes, and then just went and got one off another table.

I was there in late August . Omg the food was great hot out of this world delightful. I got a stuffed hash brown an side of hash an toast. That were really busy so it took a while. But that kept the smiles 😊 and coffee coming so all was good. The waitress was amazing. The amount of food was huge. I took a box home. Thanks 😊 so much for making my day.

The decor hasnt really changed since it was open, but for the price and quality of the food its very good. This is a if it aint broke, dont fix it kind of restaurant.

Cherokee breakfast menu options offer something for just about everyone. Im a little more health conscious now, so Id prefer to butter my own toast and see fresh mushrooms on my omelette, along with small amounts of cheese. But if you are a hearty eater, this restaurant will not disappoint with generous serving sizes.

My first job was here. So many memories. The Cherokee is just as awesome as it has always been!Response to Owner: I worked there when I was 15 (approx 1992 for 6 months), I bussed tables and washed dishes. Ted and Joanne Bowman owned it then. It was awesome.

Toast. Eggs. Bacon. Potatoes. On a plate. Boom.Thats by no means a dig. There is something great about a well-executed basic breakfast, and thats exactly what youll find here.
