I had a truly remarkable conversation with a manager. I went in looking for a particular kind of garage bike rack. They didn’t have it. This shop doesn’t list any products in its website..... I told the manager how helpful it would be to be able to look online and they should post their products. Says the manager, “That would take 7 steps.” “Okay”, I said. “That would take a lot of time”, the manager added. I then asked, “So your time is more valuable than mine? That might cost you customers.” His response.... “We’re doing just fine.” I’ve spent almost $1,000 at this shop. I won’t be spending another dollar there.

Terrible service. Quoted me one price, charged me double. Told me the bike would be ready in a day, then took a week. I Called multiple times and was then told it could be up to three weeks to repair a tire. Never fixed the seat. will not be returning...In reference to your response When I arrived with the bike your front staff said because we didn’t know it was electric it will take a day for our mechanic to fix it. I was given a price of $25 to repair a flat tire. I also made you aware of the seat problem. I gladly paid the $47 to not deal with your shop again. After POSTING this review Shannon the mechanic posted a false complaint on my Facebook business page and when I tagged this bike shop she immediately took it down and called my cell phone yelling like a two year old threatening me. There is no excuse for any of the above to ever occur. I saved the screenshot of my recommendation for your company. Let me know if you would ACTUALLY like some ice cream. I was hoping it remained on my page so more people can see the type of people who run this shop.

This place was so fast in fixing my bike, they took about 10 mins and they charged us a really fair price for fixing the bike. This place I would recommend for a king

Great shop! Super friendly. Knowledgeable and patient with questions. Bikes are another one of the Covid super sellers. Luckily we were able to get 2 beach cruisers. Our bikes traveled all across the country with us for 5 weeks. We ride them everyday! Back home in CA now.

Just traded in my Kona mtb for a Marin San Quentin and was very satisfied with the bike and customer service I received from Mike. Will continue to frequent this shop. The employees are great, but the manager Mike is not so great. If you have to deal with him you will be very disappointed. He wouldnt give me credit for a wheel purchased less 30day ago. Unfortunately they dont follow thru or follow up. Visited location twice. On first visit, employee was very friendly and appeared very interested in helping me out, by gathering info and showing me alternatives forks for bike. However, I was told to bring my bike in to take measurements so parts can be ordered. Well when I did that I felt like I was bothering them and all they did was gather my phone number and name and was told I was going to receive a call by them, its been over a week.

Great friendly people. Great service. Great shop. Best bike shop in Myrtle Beach. If you have to drive further to go here...just do it. Dont waste time with others...as I have done. 👍👍 2 thumbs up for sure.

Cant say enough good things about Mike and the Staff at Beach Bike Shop. Super knowledgable, down to earth people who are easy to approach about any questions. Largest selection of mountain bikes in the area with major brands like Santa Cruz, Specialized, and Marin. I wouldnt shop anywhere else if youre looking for a great bike with local and friendly service. If only they served beer at the shop.

I have been a patron of Beach Bike Shop for years. I have their t-shirt and jersey. I even purchased a new beach cruiser for my wife for Valentines this year from this shop. Today, I took in my mt bike to get a tune-up. The tech said they wouldnt be able to get to it for two weeks and to fill out a work order slip. No problem. I filled out the slip and began to take my bike home, until he said, It doesnt work like that. He wanted to keep my bike for two weeks before he could look at it and realize he needed to order some parts which would take another week. The tech was not agreeable to calling me when my turn came up in line for repair work. He also recommended I take my business elsewhere. Who does that? Im calling you out on your horrible custom service. Im going to take you up on your offer of taking my business elsewhere. Thanks so much for helping a local find a better bike shop.

Mike and his crew hooked me up with an awsome Santa Cruz bike at a fair price. The staff was knowledgeable and had answers for all the questions I could throw at them. Their group rides are also a lot of fun and well organized. Ive already started shopping for my next bike from these guys. Beach Bike Shop is highly recommended by me.

Fast service

Professional and courteous staff. I managed to take out my rear tire and damage the wheel (I am too embarrassed to explain how) just as our vacation started. Replacing the tire was necessary, but the wheel was a close call. They took it right in and skillfully saved the wheel and mounted the new tire. I have ridden the bike for several days and all is well. Reasonable price and quality workmanship = great value in my book. I hghly recommend this establishment.

Great place for bikes

Rented a road bike (which runs about $20 a day, and pretty cheap for the pleasure of getting to ride down here,) and really enjoyed the shop and people working there. The bike was slightly older, but had decent shifters and was fun to ride. Fleet invited me to a group ride the local cycling group was hosting that evening (their Homes and Gardens ride through lovely areas near the downtown), and it was an absolute blast. Ran into two of the riders from that ride the next day on my morning loop!Friendly people, decent and inexpensive rental bikes, and they threw in all of the little accessories youd need for free (helmet, lock, maps of the area, tail light... Even a little bike computer on the bike I rented!) Absolutely would come down here again and visit this shop.

While Atlanta had no inner tubes and no tires for our bikes we decided to bring them on to Myrtle Beach and these guys fixed our bikes within a couple of and helped us have a great weekend#thankful

I was in the market for a new bike for a while, but wasnt quite sure what I wanted. I went to beach bike shop and spoke with Mike and he knew exactly what to put me on. Im now the proud owner of a sun rev mx bike, and couldnt be more stoked! The whole staff there was extremely helpful, they got me exactly what I wanted and outside riding in no time. Anyone looking for a bike should absolutely go see them. They really care about getting you outside and having fun, because theyre a local family business and thats what they do!

We bought our two mountain bikes here several years ago. Like most people, we were gung ho on using them and rode a lot when we got them home. Then work, chores etc got in the way and our sad bikes collected dust.But we both decided to get back into a more healthy lifestyle and dusted them off.When we first bought them, Beach Bicycles prices were comparable to other local shops. We purchased here because we found the staff to be helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They werent trying to push their higher end bikes on us and provided us with a happy median in price and ride needs.The shop also has a good variety of upgrades and accessories for all levels of riders. They also provide full service repairs for your bike. Which was badly needed during our last ride. We were in mile four and headed up a steep hill. Kim downshifted and bam, the chain slipped (probably due to fact we havent serviced our bikes since we bought then) and snapped the derailleur off!Long story short, we got the patient to the bike emergency room and two days later, she is back on the road.The repair price was surprisingly reasonable and I had mine tuned up while there. So happily, we are back and my bike is rolling as well as the day we bought them. We reccomend this shop for your bike needs.

Great service and assistance! Last year I bought a Bianchi road bike off of Craigs list. I did not know it at the time but the bike was too big for me really. I was getting tired easily riding this bike because of the reach. A riding friend told me to take it to Beach Bike Shop and Fleet would help set up the bike to fit me better. I was so pleased that Fleet was able to order a new stem and make other adjustments to my bike to make a much, much more comfortable ride! Parts were ordered and were available in two days Now I am riding happy. If you are looking to buy a bike for road riding or pleasure, be sure to talk the folks at Beach Bike Shop to get properly fitted! Dont make the same mistake I made.

Amazing service, friendly & knowledgeable staff and everything a cyclist needs, all under one roof. I went in to get a flat tire fixed, and was so impressed with the entire experience. Even though I wasnt spending much money, they treated me like a valuable customer. So in return, I wound up buying a few little extras for the bike that I had been thinking about . . . they even installed them all for me! If I lived in Myrtle Beach, this would be my go-to bike shop. No need to shop around. And while we are here, it is the only place I need to go should my bike need servicing again. I arrived in myrtle beach for vacation and the rear tire went flat. Repaired it my self but the rear wheel was rubbing and making noise. Stopped by to have them look at it. They said they would look at it if it was something simple he would fix it. If it was something major he was to busy to fix it which was fair. It was a simple fix of loosening the rear brake and adjusting the rear sprocket. Service is awesome and would highly recommend this place for service.Craig.

I took my cheap box store bike in because it didnt feel right and was noisy. i was reluctant to take my cheap bike to a specialty shop figuring their price to look at my bike would be near what i paid for it. I spoke with Mike. he was helpful and friendly and did not at all make me feel awkward for bringing in my cheap bike. When I came back to pickup the bike I was surprised at how low the bill was. I asked him to check. It was right, all they found wrong was a brake and they replaced it. I paid for just the brake and a little labor, they could have easily charged me a lot more, their time to look for a problem. We spoke about why my bike didnt feel right, he kindly pointed out things regarding the fit, but not pressuring me to buy anything and left it as they will be their if they can help. Got home and the bike is quiet and smooth.

Truly helpful staff with right recommendations and repairs. I bought a used bike, and they got it up to par without unnecessary work that could have been added.

Asked for 4 like tires and tubes for my schwinn bikes got 3 of one size and one of another got home to install and found problem. To add insult to injury there remedy was to take 5 dollars off my order that was over charged by tire that didnt fit. So an hour of travel back and forth i was apologized to and given 3 dollars for my trouble. Lesson check your order befor buying as they dont . Or you could be spending extra time traveling for no good reason. Really disappointed s they in the phone said they would give me the tire that was the wrong size only 9 dollar difference.

Had a broken link, they got me out in less than 10 minutes and under $10. Very nice staff.

I took in a busted old mountain bike a friend sold me. They charged a low price to fix it and replaced some parts, but when I tried to actually ride the thing the pedals gave out immediately. The gear changer cant move the chain into third and is constantly popping the chain out, making it almost useless.All it would have taken is 5 minutes of someone riding it to spot this problem and order the extra parts. I told the staff multiple times the thing was a mess and it was obvious just by looking at it.

Had a loose cassette from a previous install at a different shop. The old shop didnt tighten the cassette nor did they properly adjust the rear derailure. Beach Bike Shop not only fixed my problems, they enhanced the cassette tighness by removing a thin ring adjusted my brakes and only charged me $8!!!!! In and out within 20 mins A++

I was going to head up to Cary NC to Performance Bike because they had a particular carbon fiber bike in my budget, however it’s difficult to know what size you truly need just going by height which seems to be the standard everyone uses. I have a long torso but only a 32” inseam on my 6 foot frame so the charts don’t really address that. Everyone suggested I go see Fleet Odom at Beach Bike Shop a member of the local cycling club who is well known in our area. When I went to Beach Bikes they had a number of Specialized brand road bikes. Some were under my budget and some were way over but I found one at about $200 over what I was looking at in Carey. Fleet took the time with me to establish the right bike size which I’m glad he did as it ended up being 1 to 2mm less than the standard chart suggested. The bike was NOT completely carbon fiber like the one I had been thinking of purchasing in Carey but the weight difference really was not that great and anyway I’m not entering the tour de France I just wanted to get faster be more comfortable and be able to go further in less time. I left the shop that day to think about the cost difference and do some research on the brand. There are many factors including buying from a local shop so maintenance, problems and adjustments can be made without adding in a long drive. I read the negative review regarding wait time for these but I discussed this with people who cycle way more than me and unfortunately it’s pretty common place that’s why they all have TWO bikes in case one’s in the shop. Now I know that’s not what anyone wants to hear but you factor in the summer in Myrtle Beach and this shop is going to be busy. Trust me getting this purchase past my wife was difficult enough imagine if I tell her I now need a backup bike. I returned the following week and purchased my Specialized Aleez Comp and that day Fleet spent an hour with me “fitting” me to the bike including my first ever experience with clipless pedals. He took all the measurements knee angle, shoe setting, stem to seat, seat height and I recorded each one in my smartphone so after riding for a while any discomfort I have we can address with adjustments. That’s basically the difference that made up my mind to purchase, the local shop, the adjustment policy and the warranty. They also worked with me on the purchase as I made several additional purchases from pedals to a rack for my car I told them my budget and we came in at the number. I have no allusions that should I pull up next week seeking an adjustment that I might have to wait or return another day but I’m working on all those excuses of why I need a backup bike. I recommend Beach Bikes especially if you’re thinking of a major bicycle purchase and you want the right bike for you.
