We bought a truck from Mad Hatter today and the entire process was seamless and stress free. Went in on Friday night to look at the truck and liked it, but needed to get the baby home so we asked him to take a look at our trade and run the numbers. We gave him our out the door budget and he made it happen. Went back the next day to test drive the truck and my husband ended up liking it. He honored his price from the previous day despite finding a potential issue with our trade that we didnt know about. Not pushy or gimmicky and there was zero pressure. He even said if an issue comes up in the next couple weeks hed fix it even though the truck sold as is, which now having read previous reviews I dont doubt. I absolutely dread buying cars because Ive had too many bad experiences with dealerships in the past. I actually walked away feeling like he gave me a fair price on our trade in and we got a good deal. I will update this review if anything changes, but as of right now I have no complaints and would recommend you go to Mad Hatter if you want a stress free car buying experience.

The car lot is small, but they were friendly. There was a test drive a car, get a raffle ticket for an AR-15 that they were doing. The car lot had some Firetrucks on it which made me smile. We didnt end up getting a car, but the staff was friendly and willing to help.They were rather short staffed, but it wasnt their fault that we came when we did. Lots of fun cars to look at.

We had the owner sell 2 of our vehicles. They were able to get us a much higher price than we tried on our own. (FSBO) So the commission to the business was a no Brainer. Came away very happy.

About every couple weeks Ive reminded myself to do so, but never have. And Mad Hatter deserves better.2019. Me and my family loved our 2009 Avalanche. Loved it. But with two horses (need 3 or more), two ATVs, and 35 years old looming (I was DONE tent camping), it just wasnt enough truck. Pure and simple.So how was I to get a travel trailer, two ATVs, two kids, a dog, gear, and my wife and I into the woods? I looked at a TT with a front cargo deck, but the ones big enough for both ATVs were TOO big for the Avalanche. I looked at a cab over camping on a flatbed trailer. But still tight living and expensive.My favorite idea, and Im still hung up on it, was a flatnosed, front engined schoolbus, with the back cap moved forward for an 8 foot deck and the inside converted to living quarters.K hun, realistically, how much time and money will that take?K. Fine.So then I had the idea of a flatbed pickup. Nothing new or fancy, cause budget is a factor. So I started searching, and found Bertha the Bear, a 2005 Chevy 3500 Duramax at Mad Hatter.Now what they did for me I dont want anyone to expect. They are in the used vehicle market. These vehicles arent perfect and anyone that expects that is insane. But upon pulling away, within 24 hours, it threw a code for a turbo problem.I called and just asked if they knew if itd done that. They said they wanted me to have a good, working truck. Over the next months it was in several times for that code. They invested in my truck, in me, and my family. Not because they had to, they did not. Not because I was a buddy, Id just popped in. And not because they needed my review, theres hundreds of them.They invested in my home and life because theyre GOOD PEOPLE. Theyre true Idahoans.I can not say enough good things about them. Theyre the kind of dealer that has looked at other, lying and swindling places and said, nope. Theyre the problem. Lets do it right.Thank you guys.

Phone tag, no returned calls. Called after seeing a voicemail, rang and disconnected me from the call. Called again, same result. Tried emailing to let them know when I was free.Missed out on another truck from another dealer that I was approved for; due to waiting on the one they had in stock that was similar to my 2012 duramax and preferring it to the one I was locked in.Whether I was approved or not, shady to block a customer and leave them in the dark. Avoid.

The experience I had workinging with mad hatter motors was by far my best experience dealing with a used car dealership. Jamie and Misty both made it is very easy and allowed me the time to go through every vehicle that was within my budget. There was a few small things with the truck that needed work. BEST EXPERIENCE BUYING A VEHICLE!I will start off by saying I wasn’t asked to write a review, I am not a family member or friend of anyone at mad Hatter motors.I had been looking for a truck. I am very happy that I stopped at Mad Hatter motors. I wasn’t greeted by a sales guy, I was greeted by the owner. We looked at a few trucks he had ( which he had the best selection of trucks versus the other competitors ) Jamie found me and amazing truck and help me stay in my budget. The truck was sold AS IS, which is normal. I found a small oil leak a few days after I bought it. I asked Jamie if he could look at it since he is a mechanic. He ended up fixing the leak and didn’t charge me anything. He did not have to do that! It would have been a $1600 repair if I went to a shop. Not only did he find me a truck but he took care of me after all was said and done. I will recommend anyone and everyone to go and buy a vehicle from Mad hatter motors! These guys care about their customers! I wouldn’t buy a vehicle from anyone else.

I called in talked to john and told him my situation and what i was able to do finance wise. I needed a vehicle fairly fast and he really worked with me and was able to get me into something that was in my price range. If you need a vehicle talk to john he will really help you out and get you what you want.

Im glad I stopped in here. I was turned down by at least five different banks at other places, and Jamie got me approved somehow. I found a truck I liked, and came up with a price I couldnt do, so he moved some numbers and dropped it lower. I was still somewhat uncomfortable and he dropped it again and got it exactly where I was looking for. Cool guy, and would reccomend him to anyone.

Wife and I came in to put an offer down on a UTV that they were selling. We put down the non-refundable deposit that they said would hold the UTV while our credit application was being processed. We had an approved loan and wanted to check with another lender that we had a relationship with before we said yes to their lender. We were told by Mad Hatter they had already sent the application to our lender of choice. I called our lender on Tuesday morning (after memorial day) and they stated they had not received any application from the dealer. I asked for the fax information and then called Mad Hatter shortly after and asked for this information and was told the UTV was sold on Sunday. I wish I could say this is the first time I have had an item sold out from under me even after putting down the good-faith/non-refundable deposit, but sadly it is not. Cant tell you how disappointed and angry I am. Only consolation is I did get my deposit back and my credit application since I felt I could no longer trust this dealer.

I went to Mad Hatters about a week ago, But I held off on writing this comment until now because my experience there was so unbelievable I couldnt even imagine it being true. I went in there with the expectation of just looking at a car, Because other car dealerships had told me my credit was pretty bad. I ended up finding a car that I really liked so I asked if they could run my numbers and see where I would need to be in order to get the car. Then I was told that my credit wasnt as bad as I thought and that they could get me approved for a loan by the next day. Long story short I got the car I wanted with excellent service.

Dishonest! On Friday, May 22nd, at approximately 3:45 p.m. we made a deal to purchase a side-by-side Arctic Cat. We were told if we paid a deposit they would hold the UTV for us while our loan application was waiting for approval. At 5:15 that same evening we received a call from the bank approving our loan. We called Mad Hatter Motors to let them know we had been approved and would be by on Tuesday since Monday was a holiday (we didnt know they were open on the weekends). We also let them know we needed to buy a trailer to pull to the UTV and planned on getting one over the weekend, plus the bank wanted a $2000.00 down payment since the collateral wasnt there on the UTV, it wasnt worth as much as we were paying. Therefore, we wanted to check with our current loan company to see if we could get approved without the down payment since we also had to buy a trailer. No matter what, we would be by on Tuesday. On Tuesday morning we called Mad Hatter Motors, the owner or manager said he wasnt in the office because he wasnt feeling well and would have someone call us. We waited until the afternoon, then we called the office and were told that the owner/manager sold the UTV on Sunday! Even though he was the one who told us if we paid a $200 non-refundable deposit he would hold it. They did issue us a refund, however, it is a very unethical business practice to sell an item right out from someone. All that had to be done was to sign the paperwork and take the vehicle home, he was not losing out on anything. He was greedy, dishonest, and of poor moral character. I do not recommend anyone do business with them.

Definitely a great place to go if your looking to get a car. The owner and his employees were extremely helpful and took there time to help us. They were not pushy which was a big deal to me. I was looking around for a Ford Excursion and mad hatter had one. I dont shop at little dealerships so this was my first experience. I looked at the reviews and decided to go take a look. Well I ended up buying the excursion. The buying experience was good. They gave me a great deal on my trade. I would shop at mad hatter again. They only thing I am not accustom to was the buying process was different than going to a normal dealership. If you have to finance I would suggest going to the bank and getting pre-approved first so that way you can take the rig home same day or pay cash. I saw an ad online for a vehicle that looked like a good replacement for my fathers pickup that just blew up, so I gave Mad Hatter a call. I spoke with an employee and told them Id be driving from approximately 300 miles away so I wanted to be sure I wasnt wasting my time. The employee told me the vehicle ran very well and was clean inside and out and he specifically said you definitely wouldnt be wasting your time to come see it. So we drove down the next day to check it out. It literally wouldnt even start. The mechanic at Mad Hatter tinkered with it for a bit, and still nothing. So long story short we drove 600 miles to look at a vehicle that didnt even run and definitely wasnt as advertised.

I went in just looking for a new truck with no Co signer and no credit thinking i wasnt going to be able to do it by my self, But the next day i drove off in a beautiful Dodge Runs perfect, i wouldnt have been able to do it without there help. Plus they had really good costumer service

Tried to make a straight trade with these guys. The owner came off as rude the second time I went in on top having his mechanic having to do all the talking. The part that was especially frustrating was the fact that my truck is newer with less miles with less rust. Despite blow by being common in diesel motors his mechanic tried to make it seem that my truck was barely running. Apparently either his mechanic has no clue what hes talking about or he thinks I dont. Either way he has some growing to do. The owner needs strengthen his internal fortitude. Have the guts to turn down a winning deal for you man to man dont hide behind your mechanic. As I told your mechanic its not my loss, its yours. Poor business practice I do not recommend anyone try to do business with such incompetence.

I thought for the price and low mileage (96,000) getting a 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport was not a bad deal. First the 4WD did not work and they only fixed the switch and not the underlying problem, the bad transfer case. Within two months the PCM fried and then the battery died. Next to go was the power steering and then the front differential. Eventually I replaced the power steering pump, front differential, and transfer case. After a couple of problem free months the transmission started to go bad as the truck will not shift into reverse. This is probably the final straw. The only good thing about the truck was the tires as they have held up so far. When my other car died I promptly got a different vehicle (older but way more reliable) as I knew this truck was not reliable. The air conditioning was not working either but that was the least of my problems with the truck. Needless to say, I will not be back.

They sell nothing but junk cars I recently bought a truck and it didnt last a week before it got a tow truck ride not to mention they sold it needing a alignment tires and breaks. 3 weeks later check engine light comes on never again will I waste my money there.
