I love this salon. I have been going to Darya for my hair for about 15 years. She is so lovely in every way. I also had my hair restored to its natural grey by Megan. She is a total delight. Everyone there is friendly, kind and their services are excellent!

Darya is an island treasure. Her salon is fabulous not only for special events like my daughter’s wedding, but for everyday use as well. Darya takes pride in her work and in her relationships. And it shows. Nantucket is lucky to have her.

Firstly, it is clear that everyone at the salon is taking social distancing and mask wearing seriously - I felt very safe the entire time. Secondly, everyone is super friendly. Thirdly, Ina, my stylist, is the BEST! I had a pixie cut that had grown out over five months of quarantine that she brought back to life. I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you nee ld a haircut on the island!

I needed a redo of a haircut I had and Darya did an amazing job and I went really short which I love. She definitely has the skills and knowledge to give a cut that is truly amazing!

When i arrived they were waiting for me on time. The place is inviting and the people are great. I just needed a hair cut, and i was in and out in under an hour, but didn’t feel rushed at all. Overall great experience. Can’t wait to come back here

I found Darya from reading reviews online so I think its incredibly important to share. I called to asked for the first stylist available and I am so happy they paired me with INA. She did an incredible job, way better than my salons from NYC! She understood exactly what I wanted for blonde highlights and I will listen to whatever she says next to do for the fall coloring session we have coming up. Shes the best and I highly recommend her.

Great experience as always. They have all the restrictions in place. It was the safest I’ve felt in a public building since this started. Jodi is amazing, she is literally the only one on Nantucket that is able to process my hair the first time. Will be back!!

This was my first salon appointment during the coronavirus. I had a pedicure. I waited outside until I was asked to come in. Nail services were in a separate room. I was the only person having a pedicure. One other customer was having a manicure. Everyone was socially distanced and masked. Staff was cleaning the door handles repeatedly. I felt comfortable and safe and got a great pedicure.

I have been going to Darya’s for 5 years. Our experience started with my daughter’s wedding ( which was a wonderful experience). I go to Jodi or Ina for gorgeous highlights and a great cut. Yesterday, Ina did highlights long grown out from the Covid-19 closures. It was my first time anywhere except the grocery store. Darya and her staff have made many changes to salon set up and policies that I felt totally comfortable. I watched many glove and gown changes, not to mention constant sanitizing of sinks and chairs. Amazing that they can still cut and blow dry with gloves on!!! Thank you Ina for making me look like myself again.

The team they have put together over the years have been fully committed to excellence! They send you feeling good about yourself! They are the best!

This was truly a great experience - from COVID safety to the cut itself. I lobbed 6” off my unruly hair and now it looks fabulous! It was worth the trip to the island for an amazing haircut! Thank you to my amazing stylist!

I have been a customer for years and it is the only place I would ever get my get my hair styled and colored on Nantucket. I trust Darya Afshari completely and let her have free range when cutting and coloring my hair. She really knows what she is doing! I should also mention that Maribel gives the best shampoo, head and neck message and blow out EVER!With this crazy world of quarantine we are living in my last appointment with Darya Afshari was in January 2020 and my current hair style is growing out but it still looks really great imho.I havent used any of the Spa treatments but my friends say they are all fantastic so I cant wait to try them when everything opens up again!

Darya is my bridal nightmare!Today is Tuesday, my wedding is this coming Saturday, 3 days away, Denis from Darya Salon told me they never booked my bridal party.I was promised that I was booked when I did my bridal trial at Darya in June. I have an email with signature and credit card information from June. When I was at the salon, the ladies there promised they were available and blocked off my wedding date for me. Instead of admitting they have doubled booked and screwed up, every conversation I have had with Denis, she looked for excuses and tried to make it seem like it was my fault. Including “did you use a wedding coordinator? No? That why you lack proper follow up.” She said “who did you talk to? I’m the only person that handles bridal.” Like it was my fault that I believed the staff at the salon! When she offered to “try to accommodate me” and I asked for a discount to compensate for them putting me in this stressful disaster, she was “you are taking this conversation to a toxic direction.”It’s a nightmare to try to find someone 3 days before my wedding. It’s worse that their bridal person refused to admit it’s their responsibility and used aggressive attitude and language to “apologize and move forward.” Darya salon clearly do NOT care and is simply terrible. DO NOT USE DARYA!

This is my first time coming to Daryas Salon this year. I had a terrible experience and will not be returning. I’ll begin by saying that I have had the same style of high contrast ombré/balayage for 5 years, I know how my hair responds to lightening and I know it is capable of reaching a blonde ashy color. I will also prefix this by stating that I’m aware that you cannot always get your desired level of blonde in one session but my hair was at a level of blonde when I entered the salon that should have easily achieved this. I came to the salon with 4 pictures, high contrast, ashy ombré style color. One of them is a picture of me last year with this color and style. I just needed to bring up the blonde that had grown out. I also brought in my clip in extensions that I wear everyday (and have always matched the ashy tone) so she could trim them. The hairdresser, Ina, says without hesitation sure, no problem. She proceeds to cut and color my hair. After a few hours in the chair, she shampoos and tones but as soon as I sit in front of the mirror I see yellow highlight looking streaks from the root of my hair and around my face. I immediately displayed concern about this and stated that I didn’t want anything near the root that would look like streaky highlights. She said “oh we should have talked about that earlier, the pictures you showed me have blonde near the root.” She hesitantly goes over my root with dark color in attempts to cover this mistake. While she does that, I look over my pictures, none of them have streaky highlights from the root. But, ok, I give her a chance to fix it and wearily say I will give it a few days. I am clearly unhappy with the results but she tried to just brush it off by suggesting that “maybe I’m not used to seeing myself with this much blonde”. And that if I feel unhappy, in a few days we can rebook to tone. A few days pass and I have not worn my hair down, my extensions (which I’ve worn for years) don’t match the hair color AT ALL, I am embarrassed by the brassy yellow color and throw it in a ponytail everyday. I text Ina telling her the situation and she says that I need to book and pay for another appointment with her for partial highlight. I express how unsatisfied I am and that for 400$ I would have expected at least similar results to what I asked for. She responds “I’m sorry for the miscommunication and I’m sorry to hear that you won’t be rebooking.” I speak to some friends who live here year round and tell them the situation, they are shocked and surprised by the treatment I received from the hairstylist. I can’t believe that after getting completely different results than what I asked for, she suggests paying for another session with her. I call the salon over the weekend and leave a long message explaining the situation, they didn’t return my call. I call Monday morning and speak to the salon manager, she hears me out and states that I should come into the salon so they can see the color that I’m unhappy with. I go to the salon later that week and speak to the salon manager in person, once again I explain my situation and they are hesitant to admit that the hairstylist did a terrible job and left me with streaky orange highlights! She says that Ina “hesitated to lift me to a level of blonde that would potentially cause damage to my hair.” I understand this excuse but if this were really the case and Ina knew she wasn’t going to achieve the results that I desired, this should have been clearly explained and communicated to me and I would have brought my business elsewhere. The salon manager offers to book a corrective appointment with a different colorist. I was nervous about trusting this salon that refused to recognize the mistake they had made which my friends said “you have to be blind not to see.” I went forward with the corrective appointment. Upon arrival new colorist had no idea why I was there, so unprofessional (they never informed her of my history). She completely overtones my hair, leaving it purple for a week. I am charged again and there go over 500$. Never again!

My hair was RUINED while on vacation in June-awful color, overprocessed, breaking off-Rali worked diligently over two months, and I can say she did a FANTASTIC job correcting the color and the cut. I actually smile again when I see my hair! Darya Salon is a first class operation with a very competent and friendly staff!
