Great experience all around. I wanted a road bike for my vacation to explore ACK’s amazing bike trails. IB took the time to talk to me about sizing, pedals, gear, and even dropped off and picked up at our rental house for free. The bike was well maintained, in good shape and the tires perfectly inflated. They even supplied a lock. Somewhat regretfully, the Felt performance bike was better than the one I ride at home! I ended up logging a little over 100 miles. The whole experience was terrific.

This place was amazing! Best bike rental place in Nantucket! Staff was super friendly and they put a smile on our face after us having a bad lunch experience. They even offer pickups and dropoffs for their bikes with no additional cost. They let us select our bikes and even were leanent on times (slightly), which really helped us out. They even added an additional basket to our rides, and offered protection (helmets) at no additional cost. This place was awesome! Overall excellent experience and I wish I could give them 20 stars. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking out a bike rental. We will be using this bike place from now on. (We have been coming to Nantucket for over 30 years!)

5 STARS. I had just arrived on Nantucket as a summer employee for the first time, and walked my bike (flat tire) to the Island Bike Co. I dont know much about bikes, so I just asked for a new tube. They went outside, explained how to read the sizes, put the bike straight on their machines, found the problem. The mechanic offered a very reasonable quote and offered to fix it right away since I was in a pinch. In and out within 5-10 minutes! The staff taught me a lot about my bike and walked me through everything step by step.

I’m very happy with the service these guys did on my bike today. They got it done really quickly, diagnosed the problem, and my bike is riding like a dream. Really happy with how they took care of my only mode of transpo, I can literally see my reflection in my derailleur. Definitely will be back if I need anything else in the future.

Called and reserved 2 bikes from Island Bike. Reservation was confirmed, but three days before our arrival, got a call saying they didnt have any bikes left and couldnt fulfill our order. What a disappointment, now I have to scrap all the plans I had created and remake them incorporating a different bike company.

Excellent customer service. I broke my bike chain just before a day on Nantucket. After asking at a couple of bike shops near the ferry to fix my chain & having no luck, I called Island Bike Company & was told to come by & he’d fix it. I walked the bike the 1.7 miles & he fixed it in 5 minutes. I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Nantucket.

We rented 2 bikes for a week. The price was very reasonable. The bikes great. Pick up and delivery was included. I had a flat tire one day while one a ride, called them up and they bought a new to my location. Great service. I will definitely rent from them again.

When I called to ask if I could ride in and get some pedals swapped out and how long it would take, I was told, “As long as it takes to ride here and as long as it takes to wait ‘till it’s done.”We rode over anyway and the job was done, free of charge, in under five minutes. Thanks to the young guy doing the maintenance (he rescued this review) not so much to the gruff voice in the back office. “Five minutes,” would have been the more professional answer.

Excellent service! Shopping for a bike with a profile as a white, step through bike, pedals slightly forward, lots of gears for hills back home, in NH, the staff recommended the 2018 Electra Townie Commute 29D. They ordered it quickly and I was on the road in 4 days! It is just the right bike for me.I proceeded to request a few customizations and they included in their service to pick up and deliver the bike each time!Prompt service, attention to details, great attitude, excellent mechanical work, full shop inventory of accessories, Kali & Bell helmets, locks, tools etc.. professional Electra Townie Dealer.The shop also helped to research a great bike rack for my Townie. I will be returning each year for service.

Admittedly they were late delivering my bike to the hostel -- but they delivered the bike first thing in the morning at the hostel no extra charge which was amazingly convenient since the bus that passes that way was not running. Then, they let me drop the bike off at the airport to save me yet another bus trip from their store to the airport. Amazing people, very flexible. The bike itself was new and working (Ive heard horror stories about the brakes at other places on the island). With a discount for early booking, I can all around recommend them to anyone visiting this very bike-able island!

Unfriendly people. Went to buy an inner tube and ended up spending 45 minutes. Poor people skills.

Easy and affordable. Delivered the bikes to our place exactly on time, great condition--great bikes, in fact, and the perfect transportation on the island.

I had a terrible experience renting and Jay, the owner, was rude and hung up on me during our conversation. There are so many options on the island and I don’t recommend anyone renting from Island Bike Shop. There is no reason to treat customers with disrespect and threaten high charges.

I had a small incident with the owner of this company but he was really cool about it and apologized. The fact that he would go out of his way to write an apology to me says a lot about his character and makes me think that if he had an issue with a customer he would do what it takes to make the situation right for them as well.

Needed to fix 2 flat tires- was quoted $40 and when picked up thru charged $70- total rip off. This kids bike was only $50 when we bought it. They lied to me about price & refused to honor the quote.
