I have NEVER been greeted by such an angry and hostile person in my life. She literally called me “nasty.” I told her she lost my business, at which point she informed me she’s fine without it. If you want to be treated with basic human decency, I wouldn’t step foot through these doors.

Best bookstore in town - orders are speedy and the books are in perfect condition. Its got a great selection of all kinds of books, and fun to browse. If I ever need a gift, thats also the place to go (also a very well selected and humorous group of cards in the back). Very kind and helpful staff, Ive been coming here for years and will continue to do so!

This store has such beautiful children’s books and really charming toys. Unfortunately, though, both times we went in there, the owner and employees were SO rude that we will never go back. They made it very clear that we were not welcome there. For instance, my daughter fell in love with a doll, and we were about to buy it... until the owner asked me to stop examining it and told me the price as if to deter me. I was fully aware of the price - what deterred me was the rudeness. They also wouldn’t let our one-year-old in without a mask (CDC does NOT recommend masks for babies!). However, our White friends has a really lovely experience, so maybe they just prefer a certain demographic. In any case, check out the inventory, but definitely don’t go for the customer service!We ended up buying some toys and Pinwheels around the corner instead and had such a great experience!

Our island favorite. So happy to have independents on Nantucket. Our children cherish their time there (as users and staff!) and remain hard book users today.

Denied entrance/service with a child under 2 not wearing a mask! Last I checked as a Massachusetts resident myself the state mask mandate does not apply to children under 2. I will be sharing this with as many people as possible. Your store management is completely ignorant, uneducated, and downright rude!
