While our move was an extremely difficult one due to personal reasons, the McLaughlin team did a wonderful job. They not only helped us with our move but also provided much needed emotional support. Our driver, Ken was truly awesome! Our move coordinator Lori was tremendous, answering all our questions in a timely manner. Thank you McLaughlin team for doing a great job
I enjoyed my move day! I had excellent support from Lori my move coordinator beforehand in prepping and signing move documents. Lori was calm and procedural in helping us get ready. Ken and Scott were like Enlightened moving partners, funny, professional. I watched them do the impossible. Clearly not their first rodeo. They were a rare and unusual mix of personable, helpful and disarming. Everything was done so fast, I almost wanted more time just to hang out with them.!! Bravo!
Rude service from the minute they arrived. We had multiple issues- never tried to reconcile and figure things out. Refused to put together a bed because it was “too complicated”- but they didn’t even try, OR look at the instructions and pictures that came with it. Scratched wall and floor. Called the supervisor Matt, was absolutely unpleasant and unhelpful- again, didn’t even try to reconcile the problems, just complained to me. Shocking service!!
I am so pleased with my decision to hire McLaughlin Transportation for my move from CT to CA. My interactions with Alan and Lori were very positive and they both helped to make the process seamless. The 4-man crew arrived on time, which was great! They were all professional, courteous, took great care and we’re very respectful in the handling of my property. Did I mention how expeditiously the team moved all of my things onto the truck !Looking forward to more of the same on the other end!
We have used McLaughlin twice now and both times were excellent experiences. The guys (3 movers) showed up earlier than promised, busted their humps all day moving us from one place to another, and did so with a friendly and personable experience. We had no damage to anything and everything was placed where we needed it to be. Our destination had multiple flights of stairs and tight doorways and the guys got everything in with no damage to anything - not our furniture/belongings, the walls, floors - nothing! And they completed earlier than planned as well. And Lori was a pleasure to deal with. The only reason for deducting one star is because the survey was a little painful being virtual - the app kept dropping signal so it made it difficult to get through. No real fault of McLaughlin, but they should look into a less bandwidth intensive app going forward. And they were a little expensive. I guess you get what you pay for as weve no complaints with the service whatsoever! But they did come in a little higher than others we quoted. We still chose to go with them as we had a great experience using them previously and had high hopes of another successful move with them. Were glad we chose them and would (and have) recommend them to anyone planning a move.
DO NOT USE McLaughlin Transportation. I give them one star but that is only because you can not rate negative stars. The moving company had parts of shipment stolen from their warehouse, lost damaged or destroyed about $10,000 dollars worth of my goods, and treated my belongings worse than a bull treats a china shop. I am absolutely disgusted with their service and would recommend anyone considering utilizing McLaughlin Transportation visit a psychologist to ensure they havent gone crazy.
Everyone was extremely professional during a very difficult to time as both the pick up and delivery were during the pandemic of 2020/2021.From the point of calling to set this up, to the pick up of our furniture, the storing for 6 months and the delivery of our furniture all went without a hitch.I would highly recommend McLaughlin Transportation Systems !
Our experience started very well and has ended terribly. The estimator (Al) who came to our house was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel like we were in good hands. The packers did a good job, and the loaders were also very nice and helpful. The other end of our move out of state was terrible and remains unresolved. The crew Mclaughlin hired on the unload end were terrible. Even the driver/crew chief said they were terrible even though they were his responsibility. They damaged several walls and several piece of furniture. The driver documented the damage and said that Mclaughlin would make it right. Right now, almost two months after the move, the company rep is claiming that they cannot find someone to fix the walls (we live in a major city with dozens of possible companies to use). They are now refuting the damage their driver documented himself! It is a shame that Al, Lori, and the crew at the start of this move were so good, only to have the company use terrible workers on the other end, and attempt to stall fixing the damage they caused. Apparently the hundreds of dollars insurance I paid means nothing. I would never use this company again for any type of move.
I connected with McLaughlin through Mayflower Moving. They were great. Fantastic communication. Honest pricing with no surprises. Extremely quick shipping across the country. Meticulous attention to detail. Excellent reassembly. They were a bit more expensive than some of the other folks out there, but absolutely worth it!!!
Was in and out quickly. Very professional. No parking for trucks. They dont have much space. Very tight.
Great Staff Quick Unload, Easy To Get To
The packing crew was friendly and efficient and cared for our belongings. The moving crew was superb and had the job done early. Brian, our truck driver, is a great guy. Super organization, great communication, and very sociable. Awesome company!!
The workers at my first home were good with my items. Workers at my arriving site were not. At least one of them consistently put heavy boxes on top of other boxes that were marked fragile.Unfortunately we did not see this as being done, only saw this as were unpacking. Also the workers stopped putting the boxes in the proper rooms and put them all in one room. My furniture was not all delivered. One of the bedrooms were missing the side boards of the bed as well as the mirror of the bureau. On another bedroom they said the screws were missing from the mirror to the bureau so they couldnt screw it in. Yes the screws were there when they moved from the 1st site.We are missing some boxes but they told us all the boxes they had were delivered yet I know of one box that was not checked off on the list and the driver / head person stated that he remembers seeing that box. Unfortunately he didnt go look for it neither did we. We also received legs of a table that were not ours. It belonged to another customer whose Furniture was on the same truck. Making us think that our missing items were probably given to somebody else. The only reason I went with Mayflower was because my real estate agent had clients three of them they have used them and liked them. I was going to use another mover but when I heard this I decide to go with them unfortunately.
I had a great experience dealing with McLaughlin transportation, they were with in the window of pick up and delivery times that they gave me. The truck driver and his help were very nice and respectful. They did a very professional job picking up and drop-off of all my items. Also the office personal answered all my questions and got back to me in a reasonable time. Thank you for making my move as easy as possible.
Scott and his crew were fantastic! Friendly, prompt, and communicative. They took care in packing our stuff, and in unloading. And Martha, in the office, was great at keeping me in the loop for my debris pickup request. Would definitely recommend Mayflower/McLaughlin!
Everyone from the first contact to the last was very courteous, helpful and professional. Moving can be a stressful experience, knowing the McLaughlin Mayflower team was on the job made it so much easier. If I move again my first call will be to Mayflower!
Jessica Zaldo helped me coordinate move and was patient and knowledgeable about the process. Guided me thru the pandemic situation. Movers were great on both ends. Packaged carefully and delivered within a week of my arrival. Highly recommend this fabulous crew!
The entire experience from move to storage to initial deliveries and final delivery was done with excellence, courtesy and professionalism. Staff were a pleasure to work with.
Worked out very well. Arrived on time. Carefully unloaded truck and set up furniture downstairs and upstairs. Packed up packing materials and boxes and took them away. Friendly crew. Definitely would use again.
I contracted with Ace out of CT because of their reviews. I was adamant that I wanted their specific personnel to do the move and they agreed. However, several days before the move, I was informed the movers were McLaughlin Van Lines from New Hampshire - a company I knew nothing about. The mover was courteous, but he informed me he was NOT responsible for any damage that might occur to my belongings. Virtually the first item he touched he ripped off the knobs to an antique dresser. His sole concern was to pack the trailer as tight as possible, as a result he removed the feet from every piece of furniture, he disassembled whatever he could and jammed his truck tight. Upon delivery, furniture and our bikes were scratched, in addition several boxes were lost/not delivered, and the contents of one box was entirely broken. Moving is very stressful and these companies only added to the stress. I would not recommend Ace or McLaughlin.
Definitely one of the best moving experiences that I have had in over 35 years. These gentlemen were accommodating, helpful, friendly and offered great suggestions on how to preserve room while unloading. Fantastic accountability for ea. box and they were finished in 3.5 hours. Fantastic customer service to a former trooper, now a civilian. So far after unpacking almost all boxes, all I found was a broken lamp shade that had gotten crushed (no big deal) I hated the color anyway.
They owe me money. Just got it back by disputing the transaction with my bank. McLaughlin was not helpful. Good luck dealing with them.
We are extremely happy with the service. Everyone we were interacting with was highly professional, very responsive and a pleasure to deal with, the manager, the estimator, the driver. I would like to recognize the estimator Darlene Desjardins and the driver Walter for their exceptional professionalism.
Fantastic moving experience. Scheduling team called multiple times to ensure we were coordinated on timing for delivery. Truck showed up exactly as discussed, and the movers were totally considerate of an appointment I had that ran long and waited until I was ready. They were very smooth and efficient, and took incredible care of all of my antiques, easily breakable and high value items. If you’re looking for a moving company, I would absolutely recommend them.
Great experience overall with our move from MA to WA (during COVID nonetheless). We were pleased with the initial quote, availability in terms of dates we could choose to move and transparency around potential additional costs (i.e. our couch was going to barely fit into a crate - but it ultimately did). Thankfully, none of the additional costs were needed but it was nice to know what may come up. Lori was great to communicate with about final details from start to finish via email. Day-of move was good - a couple a small hiccups including the crew not knowing we needed our TV packed. They troubleshooted that well though and we were set. Everything arrived promptly and move-in team was prompt, quick and efficient. We also appreciated the referral McLaughlin had for a company to move one of our vehicles. Thanks all! - Tiffany and Thomas, Seattle, WA
I had a very disappointing experience with McLaughlin. I was scheduled to move across the country, but when the truck arrived, I was told that they had none of the items in hand to pack as I requested. I did the majority of the packing myself, only needing them to help pack a few important items, but they didnt have what they needed to pack items properly when loading. I reluctantly agreed to allow them to take the items, since the dispatcher wouldnt make things right and have a truck come first thing the next morning. I was promised I would receive the proper loading paperwork and photographs of everything packed before it would leave their warehouse. Low and behold, I received nothing. After repeated emails and promises, nothing ultimately came. Upon receiving items on the other end of my move, I now understand why they didnt sent pictures. Its because they didnt properly pack half of it. My couch, coffee table, tv table, desk all arrived unpacked, not wrapped, and no shrink wrapping. As a result items were damaged. Very disappointing service from management. ALSO, beware of how they inventory your items. Review the cryptic codes they use. They will mark items as soiled, damaged, etc. when they are in fine condition.PS, when they respond as say they have located a file we think is associated with your move. You will hear from us in 24-48 hours. That is a complete lie. They never contacted me. Its all a front.
Lori was very helpful with the scheduling and paperwork throughout our move to the west coast. Eric did an accurate estimate in 20 minutes. Our mover / truck driver Dave was very careful and kind. I highly recommend Mayflower/ McLaughlin Transportation!
McLaughlin made my move so easy! I was very stressed and on a pretty strict deadline and they were able to accommodate me. Their packers and loaders were extremely good and professional, and the coordinators I spoke to were very knowledgeable and helpful.
Good moving experience. They picked up and delivered in the agreed upon time frame.Delivery guys were pressed for time. Only 2 guys delivering, thought an additional person would have been helpful.Overall a good experience.
This was a Government move and for some reason, there are like 7 coordinators and one of them messed up our move - they double scheduled a driver and it took them until 1400 to put together a crew and a truck. HOWEVER, when the crew arrived, they were fantastic! They were professional, hard working, and courteius. They took care of our stuff and made sure everything was loaded carefully. Also, the packing crew was really good, as well! All in all, even though they made a mistake, they made it right & thats what matters.
Excellent moving experience. Movers were very fast, efficient, friendly, knowledgeable and careful not to scrape walls, etc. Upon arrival in NC, they unloaded completely in less than 3 hours. Original quoted weight and volume were very close to actual amounts.
We used McLaughlin Transportation for our recent interstate move south. We ran into a few issues, but McLaughlin came shining through. BOB, the moving guy who did the drive south & coordinated a crew from our new location was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL to work with. Cannot thank him enough...YAY BOB & crews, both back home & down south. I give you all TEN ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!!!🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴
While the guys who packed our things onto the truck were quite pleasant.... The overall experience was absolutely terrible!!! The driver promised us he would direct deliver to our house and arrived 3 days before us and offloaded. After that he took off and shut off his phone so the company couldnt contact him, because of this the items fell under control of the storage company and we had to sleep on blankets on the floor of our new house for a week and spend hundreds on supplies to compensate because the storage company had no spots available to immediately get us our things. To make matters worse, multiple high value items were damaged including parts of my husbands motorcycle, a 55 tv, and even parts of our king size bed. Do not, I repeat DO NOT use this company!!!!
Mayflower broke a marble table that their driver confirmed he saw the movers break. Company provided inspector confirmed broken beyond repair. Two months later Mayflower refuses to pay to fix their damage and replace an unusable table and refuse to refund crating fee for table, when crating clearly failed to protect item while in Mayflowers care. Representatives refuse to call to discuss how to fix their mistakes. Now having to pursue legal action. Managements response below demonstrates the two months of ignorance we have been subjected to. Today we received an email saying claims team has lost documentation we have sent. Our point of contact Lori has not returned phone calls.
The movers that actually moved us were great except for the younger guy who was on his phone constantly and in my bathroom multiple times throughout the day for 20 minutes at a time. Also the younger one started an argument with one of the other movers in our driveway. Then when they delivered our belonging we only had two movers (younger one called out) instead of three and it took so much longer than expected and we even helped move stuff off the truck! Its now been almost 2 months since our move and we still havent been reimbursed for our overpayment! We are extremely unimpressed with how this company handles their business and would never recommend anyone use them for a moving company.
If I could give no stars I would. This company made a difficult day so much harder. We confirmed with dispatch the day before our move that our loading was slated to begin between 8-9am. They arrived at 3:30 instead. At 5:30pm, the loading employees told us they would have to come back the next day for our belongings because the truck wasnt big enough for our belongings. When we told them that was not possible as our closing and walk-though was at 8am the next day, they shrugged and told us that the warehouse closes at 5pm and there was no one for us to speak with at 5:30pm. After a strongly worded discussion, the staff remained and worked to make our belongings fit into the existing truck. It was stifling hot and we did our best to help support the loading team with water; the crew drank through close to 50 bottles of our water. One employee spent a good deal of the time complaining and looking for opportunities to sit down; even asking us for bug spray. At 8pm, they pulled away with some of our things strapped to the outside of the trailer. Our belongings arrived at our new home, just five miles away, with several pieces of furniture broken. Over the course of our unloading, the staff changed at least 3 times. We never really knew who was going to walk-through our front door. Even due to all our complaints and issues, the company charged us more than the original quote. Do yourself a favor and go with a different company.
Initially all went well until delivery date came and went. I was told the driver could not deliver the load ahead of mine (it was supposed to be delivered no later then 10/11). I was told it would be here on Saturday but when I called to verify I was told Sunday. It was finally delivered on Sunday. Initially this was gareented to arrive between 10/3and 10/11. It was late!.
The movers showed up on time; however, they did not build half of the stuff that was dissembled from my other location like supposed to. I informed them they would have to help unpack as I normally don’t request it but this time I did. The driver informed me they had another job at 3pm which they arrived at my house to deliver between 10-12. Needless to say my house and my belongs are spread all over like hurricane Katrina hit. I have photos and would love to post pictures. Needless to say. Worst move in my entire 6 years in the military and I’m left in shock
PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY - They have horrible bait and switch tactics. They will provide an incomplete estimate and a MAXIMUM cost, then when the work is done, they are well over the MAX and in our case, their guys took multiple breaks including one caused by rain - which you pay for the overages - so dont be human - make them work in the rain. we actually tipped each guy for working - not knowing that we would get screwed later.
Excellent service, great crew, very professional and a delight to work/communicate with. Highly recommended!
One of the movers was disrespectful and rude. He always said something under his breath
Having not moved in 33 years, it was all new to us. There were some timing issues that caused 1 star to stay blank, but so far, the process was ok. We were originally told that packing would start on Monday but that changed to the previous Friday. Ok, that meant we had fewer days to get ready. Then loading was supposed to take 2 days but wound up taking 3. Ok - there was a lot of delicate and old furniture.Loading crew were great on day 1, but on next couple of days, they had some with less experience and drive. Still, I have to applaud them all for doing what I could not. Scott, the driver was friendly, thorough, and professional. He assured us that everything would arrive safe and intact. Ill post again after the delivery. I trust that his loading will ensure that his word is good and we will have moved our worldly belongings more than 800 miles without any issues.
What a horrible company both to work for and to have move your stuff.there is a reason why no one stays at this company.the owner is a dick and has no concern for anyone but himself.why a corporation such as mayflower be involved with them is beyond me.I would not let them do anything for anyone and run just as fast as you can.they will try and screw your as fast as they can.
This company is awful and dishonest. I highly suggest taking your moving needs elsewhere. This was a military move so we had no choice as to what company would be given to us and we ended up with Mcghlaphlan. Right from the beginning the “boss” packer was extremely distrespectful to his much younger employees right in front of me, which I found odd. Then the big boss “Jason” shows up and I noticed instantly how meticulous he was about making sure his company would take no blame for any damages of my belongings. He talked to me several times about how they don’t want any claims. All was fine, until the very end. They struggled in my stairwell for quite some time with my king size mattress and at the time unknown by me and my husband, ripped my railing through and down my wall. They of course noticed and wrote in their paperwork that it was damage done prior to our delivery (we never signed this). They never told us. We had been in our home TWO days before delivery with absolutely no damage. I filed a claim the very next day with the company and they are refusing to pay damages. In the last six years we have dealt with several military moves and moving companies, we have NEVER experienced dishonesty and customer service like this. Repairs were quoted at $500 and Mcghlaphlan refuses to pay. I highly suggest looking elsewhere and if your stuck with this company like we were, stay with them at all times and observe your home before they leave.
Great company, respectful and caring employees, good cohesion, good work ethic and quick job.
They were quick with the delivery for the expected date, no hassle at all!
The whole experience was wonderful from the estimate to the help from the moving coordinator and the movers themselves. I highly recoomend them.
Being in the military, we did not have the option to choose our moving company. If we could go back and do our own move across country, we would have done just that to avoid doing any business with this company. This was by far the WORST moving experience we have endured over the last 12 years. The receptionist or “dispatch” Rebecca, had by far the WORST customer care. Having multiple scheduling issues, my husband and I would call to have issues resolved and would get Rebecca on the phone who was very rude, unconcerned and had children running around and screaming in the background. Last time I checked, this was a moving company and not a child care facility. After a MONTH AND ½ of not having our belongings, we finally got our household goods delivered. The movers were actually very quick and I had no issues with them other than the fact that when the move was complete, the movers said they had another job to go to and that they could not unpack even though our paperwork listed a full SAME day move and unpack. The movers told us that we had to call Rebecca and schedule a completely DIFFERENT day to have unpackers come out. WHO THE HELL DOES THAT????! I called the home office immediately and was told that luckily (Lucky us!) there was a group of men in the same area that could come out later that day to unpack. Which they did. By the time they showed up I had practically unpacked everything myself. Completely worthless this company is. My biggest advise, DO NOT HIRE OR WORK WITH THIS AWFUL COMPANY!! AVOID, AVOID AVOID!!! Oh, and when given the “owners” telephone number, numerous phone calls and messages were left and we are still waiting for that call back. Completely unprofessional!!!
Very disrespectful company from the dispatch person to the people that come to your home. I would NEVER use this company, to be honest I dont know how they are still in business. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL.
Sleazeball is the only word to describe this company! They charged us $25,000 to move my elderly mother and severely disabled father, they broke and lost prized possessions that belonged to our family since early 1900s! On top of everything they lied to me when I repeatedly asked if my mothers move was paid in full and told me it was. Heather Pfau gave me her word that we were paid in full and we would not receive any more bills. But now we are being charged $2548 more!! The owner, Marty McLaughlin, says it is for the third party company they hired to deliver. So apparently moves with this company dont include delivering your belongings!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
The star is for Jessica who set the scheduling for an agentto come to my house and do a walk thru for an estimate. The walk thru was scheduled for Mon .On Sunday I received a call saying he could not make it so we re-scheduled for Wednesday at 4;30.At 4;15 I called to make sure we were still on he hesitated and told me he couldnt but said thursday for sure.On the third appt he does show and completes his walk thru gives me a verbal estimate and saids the actual itemized estimate is on its way via e-mail.Never received the e-mail.So I tried to call him 3 times.HE Never called back.I hired somebody else thinking if they showed this lack respect towards a customer before getting the money what will it be after
Excellent professional service.
I was told my belongings would be delivered in 3-5 days. I had to wait 16 days for my things!! It was almost impossible to reach them. Once they knew what my concern was, they stopped returning my calls! Upon delivery & while unpacking, i immediatley noticed valuables that were missing. Digital camcorder, jewelry, china, and 1 of my three PS3s!!! I mean did they really think we went going to notice! Hello! Dealing with this issue was even worse. So much time spent, and to only be partially reinbursed. I was given no explanation or information on who did this or why it happened. Nobody seemed to know anything!! Avoid this company at all costs! You will certainly regret it!!
Horrible experience. Dishonest sloppy company. I had things taken!!!!! Unprofessional packers.
Quick and efficient!
Very efficient
Good company
His service and atmosphere are very good to me.
