Tom, at Fiddledogs LLC, is a marvel in downtown Nashua, New Hampshire.We had Tom repair and restore a violin, of German manufacture, that has been in our family for, well, I dont actually know how long. It belonged to my grandfather, who passed it down to my mother, who herself was born in 1926. Tom was able to completely restore the violin, even replacing worn tuning pegs with antique ones to match. He flawlessly touched up scratched parts of the varnish, updated the tail, replaced the bridge, restrung it, and provided a new bow (our choice).All for, if you will pardon the expression, a song.

Tom helped me tune my violin, rosin my bow, and figure out my shoulder rest. He was very patient and kind. He made this beginner feel at ease and very excited and happy to start playing the violin! If you need any tuning, repairs, to buy a violin or anything else go see him. He is great!

My friend Anne and I both have fiddles from Fiddledogs which we bought last year. Tom is meticulous and honest and makes sure you are happy with your fiddle. No sales pitch, just take your time and find a fiddle you love. Ive lent mine out at jams for a tune or two while I played guitar and the borrowers always tell me its a sweet fiddle and they loved playing it. He also fixed two old bows for me, one of which was given to me because it was a wreck and now that one is my favorite bow.

This is a gem of a violin shop right in downtown Nashua, NH. Tom has brought a bunch of violins back to life for Sinfonietta Strings. His workmanship is excellent whether its a violin, viola, or cello. He even did some bow rehairs that we were very impressed with! The shop has some beautiful old instruments too that one of our teachers have fallen in love with.

Fiddledogs does an excellent job in breathing new life into old, battered up instruments. Hes a really easy going guy and incredibly helpful, upfront, and honest!
