I went to this shop expecting to get the value that a AAA rating should promise. After evaluating the repair, I was quoted a price more than double the AAA suggested price. 2 stars because they accurately diagnosed the problem. I was able to find a mechanic in the area closer to what AAA suggested.REACTION TO OWNER RESPONSE: I just want to put this in for context, so future customers know what to expect. I was quoted a price at around $1600. The two repairs I needed were a Throttle body Assembly and a wheel hub assembly replacement. High end estimates with AAA were $367 and $406 without the AAA discount. I firmly believe if youre going to be recommended by AAA, you should adhere to what their estimates are on cost.
When checking reviews I made the mistake of only looking at the reviews posted on THEIR site. Huge mistake. Look at the unedited, unbiased reviews on google and yelp. There’s the TRUE story. This place has all the hallmarks of a quality establishment AT FIRST, but they have a dishonest policy of telling you very professionally, to bring in your vehicle and let them “take a look” at it. Then quoting a price that in many of the cases reviewed was extremely over priced ( as was mine). Then when you decide not to let them charge you 3 times ( in my case ) what another repair shop charged, they said I owed them 100.00 for looking at it. This fee was never mentioned prior to my desire to look elsewhere for the repair. The owners argument when I questioned this was I should have sense enough to know they would charge me to “take a look” at my car. Not only was that statement rude, it’s incorrect. Unless you tell someone up front what they will be charged for a service, you should not preform the service. There are people who don’t have an extra 100.00. Any time you expect to be paid a certain amount of money, both parties should be aware of the service and the fee and the person expected to pay should agree BEFORE the service is provided. Now, I look at them differently. If your shady about the little things, your likely to be shady about the big ones as well. Not as impressed today as 2 days ago.
I’ve come here twice and I’m very impressed. Both times they have been very clear and detailed on what my truck needed done. They were very honest. Price was honest. I definitely recommend to anyone who needs a true and honest mechanic shop in Nashville.
Professional, courteous, and got the job done and us back on the road in rapid time. They clearly communicated everything, including the cost, so there were no surprises. I highly recommend them.
Reliable, fast service when I need them. Very reasonable prices and friendly folks. They have helped me with both my Volvo and Subaru. Would highly recommend!
I got a fair price for their work. I do appreciate that they were able to find a less expensive, hand done repair to buying and installing a full wiring assembly from the dealer.
When your daughter is 8 hours away at college in a large city such like Nashville, you do wonder how they will be treated by local professional services, especially in an industry at least stereotypically known to take advantage of youth ignorance when it comes to car repairs. Our daughter latched on to Hillsboro Village due to its close proximity to Belmont university, where she attends. Starting three years ago as a freshman she utilized them for simple service/oil changes, and it was convenient because she could leave the car and walk back to Belmont quite easily and safely. Other times if she was having a small issue she would drop by without any appointment and the folks there would be very courteous in their assistance with whatever small issue she was having. Recently we needed some larger assistance, a complex repair on a German vehicle which they actually bought tools specifically for them to be able to assist us! They replaced a water pump, timing belt, and other things that had left my daughter sitting and needing towed. They speculated a week and a half, but had the repairs completed in just a week, and were always in good communication with her. I HIGHLY recommend this company!! If your son or daughter is going off to school in Nashville, do NOT worry about where to get their auto service done! Well done Hillsboro!! MW
Went to Walmart for a new battery because our car wouldn’t start without being jumped. Walmart said the battery tested good and referred us to auto zone for a alternator check. Went to auto zone and alternator tested bad and battery tested good. My dad found Hillsboro Village Auto online due to all of the great ratings and told me and my husband to check them out. We are new to Nashville and didn’t know were to go. We went expecting to pay for an alternator but after Brent tested everything & told us it was in fact NOT the alternator that needed to be replaced it was 100% a bad battery and even printed the paper invoice for us. Brent is so professional and knowledgeable and I trust his expertise. Highly recommend Hillsboro Village auto service! We will definitely be coming back for all of our auto needs.
The customer service at this garage lately is an absolute joke. Ive been a customer here for years. I took my fiances vehicle in to get a tire patched for a nail that was in it. I was told repeatedly that there wasnt a nail in the tire and that it must just be the weather changing. I was then spoken to like a 5 year old while Jen explained to me that the seasons changing can affect the pressure in the tires. 10 minutes later, I receive a text saying that they found the other half of a nail inside. Fast forward to later in the day, my fiance goes to pick up her Jeep. The mechanic thats leaving doesnt give her any useful information with regard to taking her own car home. Confused she asked if she just took the car, because it seemed like everything was paid for with how he had responded. He mocked her and then told her to go inside and pay for it. When she went inside, Jen managed to mock her too when she was confused about which key was being handed to her.Somehow they managed to charge us 90 dollars for a plug on a tire and an inspection on all four tires that they initially refused to do. When I had dropped off the vehicle this morning, Id asked if they could look at all tires to make sure there wasnt any sort of nail in any of the others and it was treated as though I had asked them to rebuild the entire engine.Everyone has bad days but this service was absolutely pathetic. What a horrible way to run a service driven business. I would rate this garage lower but I literally cannot.Do not bring your vehicle here.Attached is a picture of the nail that obviously wasnt in the tire.
Brent and Jennifer are the best! I would trust Brent with my life. Your safety is always his #1 priority. Hell tell you when its not worth making the repairs on your car; he treats all his customers like family. I know I can count on these guys to be honest and thorough on every car and every repair. 11/10 would recommend.
Hillsboro Auto offers kind and exceptional customer service . No one is thrilled about paying for car repairs, but they are upfront about everything to include diagnostic fees.I have had a strange sound under the body of my car . Over 5 years I have taken it to countless shops and specialty services to include 2 Firestone locations . It wasn’t until I brought my car in to Hillsboro last week that they linked the issue to a drive shaft. NO ONE was able to figure this out before .Brent took time to explain everything to me down to how the parts repaired function ! I came home today to find a hand written note thanking me for my business .Hillsboro now has my business and I will not be returning to my previous shop.
My daughter damaged her engine splash guard when she parked her car last night. On her way to work this morning she pulled over when she realized something was dragging on the pavement and called me. I searched for a mechanic close by and found Hillsboro was less than a mile away. She was able to tuck the shield up to keep it from dragging and limped into Hillsboro about 8am. They had no appointments but their mechanic took the time to re-attach the splash shield to get her on her way. Thanks for the great service!
I came to this business when my car was making weird sounds. A few hours later, I received a call saying that it was my entire front strut mount assembly and would be $1600. I ended up calling a few other places, and I got that fixed for $950. The closest any other shop quoted me for was $1100. While every business needs to make money, this price difference was too much and it felt like a rip-off.Also, they charge a 95 dollar diagnostic fee which I was not made aware of before. What a JOKE for only 10 minutes of work. The only reason I dont leave a 1-star review for this place is because I think Brent does good work, but its just not honest work. I went to Simpsons Auto and those guys were much more fair. I highly recommend that place!
I am 650 miles away in DFW, Texas and my daughter lives in the area of Hillsboro Village Auto Service. She had an immediate need with her vehicle and I couldnt help her.I looked them up on the web, called and talked to Brent. Explained our situation and sent her there. He was able to solve the problem and put a Dads worried heart to rest. They have gained a local customer with my daughter. My prayer is, that if you are considering Hillsboro Village Auto, you have now found people you can trust. They sure have earned ours.
Brent, Jen and the team at Hillsboro Village Auto are great - Ive brought multiple vehicles to them and theyre always quick to assess whats going on, clear with their quotes and expectations, and they work fast. Most important - I trust them, and they have a great reputation in the community. Very happy to have a great local garage.
Car repair is a hassle, but its always as easy as possible here. Jennifer is efficient, fast and knowledgeable and the techs communicate well and get it done when and for how much they say. Theyre really good at this. Thanks.
Brent and his team are awesome. Very professional, honest, and knowledgeable. Oil change was inexpensive, headlight repair was much less than what we anticipated, and he explained thoroughly my broken sway bar issue and fixed it promptly. He is very fair about the work that needs done and his cost is also very fair.Ive used them many times and am always super pleased.
I emailed them about replacing a faulty brake light bulb. They worked me in the same day. I dropped my car, walked across street to eat lunch, and the job was completed. That fast. Cant guarantee itll be that fast for anyone else, but it was great for me. Affordable, and he also checked my tires and pressure, even without me asking. A+ transaction. Id send anyone there.
It’s great to be greeted by name and have someone you can rely on for honest information and service when you have issues with your car. I’ve trusted Hillsboro Village Auto Service with my car for over a decade and feel very lucky to have found them.
The owner is a really great man, he is very kind and doesn’t over charge. If you go there you know you’re getting your money’s worth.thank you, faris
Brent and his team were amazing! My car was towed here and he was so helpful. He clearly explained the process that needed to be done, the impact, and was able to give me a quote. The next day, it was ready for pick up. The receipt had a great breakdown of what was done and tips for after-care. I am so grateful to have had such a positive experience in a scary situation!! I highly recommend this shop to anyone who is wondering if they should go here. Thank you again Brent!!
I’ve been using them for years. They always provide prompt high quality service at a reasonable price-the service is an excellent value. They are very pleasant and professional to deal with. I would not take my cars anywhere else.
A very knowledgeable staff and a pleasure to talk to.
We had driven 500mi overnight to get to the hospital and learned we had a headlight out. Brent was very courteous, very accommodating of our schedule and situation, had us in and out in 10min.THANK YOU!
Love this family owned business! Great people & excellent service!Thank you, Jennifer and Brent!!Yall saved my day!
Easy, fast, quality service. Finding a mechanic when moving to a new city is always nerve wracking, but I felt very well taken care of here! Will definitely continue to take my car to them.
Very nice people. Got our car in and they gave us an estimate within a few hours even though they were busy. They explained exactly what was going on and how much it would be. We dont live in Nashville so it was great being able to trust them with our vehicle and not having to worry.
My power steering went out and I called and asked for my car to be seen. One of the guys came over to my car and cleared some codes and fixed my issue. He wouldent let me tip him! Awesome people and great service.
Hillsboro Village Auto Service offers excellent service from the time you walk in the door to when you pick it up, sometimes even just a few hours later. Everyone is professional and helpful and friendly, Jennifer at the desk and the mechanics who call to explain what they are doing. We couldnt ask for a better place to take our car (a Hyundai Elantra) and lucky for us, its nearby.
I just moved to Nashville and needed an oil change. I stopped by, they took my car immediately and let me know of everything they had checked. They were friendly and fast. My Jeep is happy.
Hello Nashville,This is the most shady and unprofessional auto shop in Nashville. The lady answering phone to the mechanics(I think his name was Brent or Brad) Are a sorry excuse for a auto shop and trust me they will try their best to take advantage of you if the opportunity presents it self. I feel like a lot of Nashville locals know about how terrible this shop is. But they take advantage off people traveling through because of how busy the area is.
Great staff, down to earth, and efficient. Would recommend this shop to anyone.
First time visit on a friend recommendation, the service was done very quickly and communication was done trough the phone before any action taken which i highly appreciate. As for the pricing it seems the same or just a bit less then official manufacturer but everything was transparent and clear. Great behavior and a lot of patience when responding to my questions. Thank you
Highly recommended they are friendly, honest and dedicated to their customers!
Redeemed my faith in humanity.I am new to Nashville and my girlfriend saved me by suggesting Hillsboro Village Auto Service. After a nightmarishly horrible experience with another shop in town these people redeemed my faith in mechanics and seriously saved me a ton of money. I am an emotional guy. I love my 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT and had almost given up on keeping it. Problems were assessed, prioritized and fixed quickly and smoothly. Service was businesslike, polite and they were sensitive to my needs, discussing budget, giving accurate estimates and going the extra mile. A great place to get a car serviced! Wonderful.
Great secret in Hillsboro Village. Brent and Jenn were great. Jen responded within 10 minutes to my voicemail and set up an appointment that day! Brent called to get more details and was courteous and knowledgeable. They got my daughters car in quickly, made the repair in 2 hours and had us back on the road. I highly recommend their services! Great experience and I have very high expectations
This is seriously the only shop I will go to.The entire staff is super friendly and the work is very reliable. They are totally accommodating and go out of their way to give you all the information you need to make a decision. They are 100% honest and upfront about everything and always call you before doing any work.Always hard to find a shop you can trust, and after many years in Nashville HVAS has never let me down!
Dropped my car off after hearing some squeaking in my brakes and reading the rave reviews for Brent and the team here, and I could not be more glad that I did! The staff were more than kind, they were friendly and genuine and wanted to make sure I was taken care of from the moment I dropped the vehicle off, even setting me up with a free loaner car which was a real life saver. I got a call from Brent the next day and he walked me through everything he found in his inspection (still have about 60% life left on my brake pads, there just happens to be a ding on the rotor that isnt aligned perfectly on the disc which seems to be causing the squeak) and gave me his honest advice. He shared that because the vehicle is 100% safe to drive, that he did not want to take my money on a repair I didnt need, and stressed that my comfort was of the utmost importance to him. I will 100% be back once those brake pads actually do need replacing, because the level of customer care this team showed me was unparalleled.
As a mid 20s female, I have found that some places will give you different estimates for the same services hoping that you dont know any better- this has happened to me on more than one occasion. Not the case AT ALL here. The manager Brent and his auto mechanics performed a standard oil change and tire rotation when they found my tire was almost blown out. He called me immediately, and then brought me back to look at the tire and explained everything simply and thoroughly. As it was the end of the day, I got the tire replaced the next day. I got a phone call around 8:30 am to say it was ready to pick up!! Amazing. What is even better about the way Brent runs his shop is his honesty and kindness. He found and fixed a simple fuse issue for me that other places quoted me at &150.00 and he did it FOR FREE.So, when my alternator went out last night, I immediately got it here before turning the car off. This morning, Brent helped me figure out what to do and even suggested calling the business that replaced my alternator 9 months ago to see if they would warranty it- I dont want to take your money until we know if you can get it done for free. - direct quote from Brent! Even if I dont get my alternator fixed with Hillsboro this time, I will definitely be coming back for any and all auto services. The quality of work and business attitude is the best Ive ever experienced.
Great communication and service. Easy in and out. Great value for quality work.
A basic oil change here cost me over $100.Also, the quote I received for new tire installation not only misdiagnosed one tire issue, but was twice as much as what I found at Firestone on Gallatin (which has great service and predictable pricing). For context, I drive a Subaru, not a Bentley.Everyone I talked to was pleasant enough. No comments there. Just super pricey and absolutely not the holy grail car service everyone seems to think it is.
This was my first time here and it is by far the best mechanic Ive ever been to. Everyone that works there is really nice and friendly. After they diagnosed my truck, they called me to walk me through what was wrong with it and what needed to be done. You can tell by talking to them that theyre all extremely experienced and trustworthy. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
Friendly awesome service!
Such a great experience! “Limped” into the garage on battery power only 30 minutes before closing. They had us diagnosed and ordered parts before leaving for the day. Knowing we were traveling thru Nashville for the night they moved things around and had us back on the road by 11am the next Morning...amazing. If we lived here they would be my mechanic!
Hillsboro Village Auto Service did an excellent job repairing the AC in my car. I was able to leave my car and walk to work without having to take time off. They diagnosed the problem, had the part available and were able to finish the repair before the close of business that same day. They were so very kind and did an outstanding job!
Wish I could give them MORE than 5 stars. Seriously, they are FANTASTIC.They are friendly, honest and thorough- what more could you want in an Auto Shop?
Brent and staff were so helpful! He told me exactly what was happening with the car very honestly, and he gave me great advice. He was also supportive and attentive.
Ive taken my car here many times (an unfortunately old Chrysler). Each time, Ive been given a speedy appointment, detailed diagnosis, and a breakdown of my options for what they think the repairs should be. Every time, I get great work at a reasonable price, and I feel confident that they fixed my car. Without a doubt, this place makes me feel comfortable with the service, prices, and timeline they offer. My favorite mechanic in central Nashville for sure.
It is such a relief to have a reliable, trustworthy mechanic in the neighborhood! Brent the manager always takes time to explain to me what he recommends doing and why. Hillsboro Village Auto keeps my Honda Fit humming along safely and reliably!Just wanted to add a few words, based on my most recent experience: Hillsboro Village Auto Service has proven to me over and over that they always look out for my best interest. The work they do is careful and excellent, and they will not do work they dont feel is necessary. Brent always gives me a thorough explanation of what it will take for them to diagnose and fix a problem. If the problem is not urgent, he recommends alternatives for how to figure out what is wrong without taking the time and labor to tear the engine apart. I trust Hillsboro Auto completely. They are not the cheapest shop in town (though they are a MUCH better value than any dealership!!), but over the years they have saved me so much money because they dont do anything that is not necessary and they always get the job done right the first time, always on time. They are very friendly and responsive.
Great service, friendly folks. Very reasonable prices 👌
I went to Hillsboro Village Auto Service July 22, 2019 with an urgent problem. I had to drive from Nashville to my home in Toronto (about 12 hours) with my family. My car started to make a loud, nasty noise from the drivers side front wheel. I thought it was a wheel bearing that had gone.I went to HVAS first thing Monday morning, after already being delayed by a day, Jennifer took care of me right away, I told her of my urgency and she made my car her priority. She told me that the diagnostic would be around $68, plus repairs - I was expecting a bill of several hundred dollars. With in an hour I had my answer, it was a bad sound but a fairly minor issue. The fix was under $50! Not only that, but Jennifer said that her guys took a good look at the car and could not find any safety issues, I was safe to drive home. She also told me to have our guys up in Canada take a good look for any issues that could have caused my initial problem. I told her she could have charged me 4X what she did and I would have been thrilled - we would NEVER do that was the reply. Before I left Jennifer asked me to let her know we got home safe - that was important to them. Well, we did!Overall it was a great experience, from what I can see this is an auto repair shop that cares, is honest and treats people right, even those from out of town who will only be a one time customer. I wish more auto shops were like Hillsboro! Thanks again Jen!
Quality and honesty- bring your car here for services. Were out of town visitors to Nashville who experienced sudden, significant car trouble. Hillsboro Village Auto Service was recommended by AAA, the local tow truck driver who arrived to tow our car as well as solid reviews on Yelp and Google. Brent is an expert mechanic. He quickly diagnosed the difficulty with our car, communicated the difficulties, discussed the necessary repair, parts, cost, etc.. Our car was towed there at 9:00 a.m. and the car was ready for pick up at 5:00. Sad about our car breaking down, really happy we found Hillsboro Village Auto Service.
These people are honest, fair, and skilled. Youre The Man, Brent! Thanks to you and Jen.
Today morning I went to get my car fixed and people are very nice here. Thank you so much for being so nice.
Quick and friendly communication. Looked at my truck right away, and were able to do the repair same day. Very friendly, professional, work seems to be quality and comes with a warranty. Their prices were pretty comparable to the local Nissan Dealership, but they are quick and convenient.
Fantastic, fantastic service. Ive been here twice, both times received prompt and friendly service at a very fair price. I would never bring my car anywhere else, Hillsboro will always get my business.
They did not give me enough time to pay for the service and ended up towing my car which cost an additional $225. Do not use this mechanic shop if you are low-income. They were also very rude and angry at me for not paying quickly even though all they did was run diagnostics. Also they misdiagnosed the simple fuel issue( I ran out of gas) and told me that my car would not start without a new $1300 fuel injector. However when I got my car from the towing service, it started perfectly and I have not had any issues 3 months after. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM
This place is great. The staff is competent, kind, and quick! Car trouble is never fun but this place makes me feel well taken care of.
These professionals have been servicing my car for years as well as those of family members and friends. The quality of the service is consistently high and the pricing is reasonable. When lower prices have been quoted by others, it is because they failed to include the related components so the estimates had to be modified. They clearly distinguish between what needs to be done sooner versus what can wait until a later date. They are trustworthy and knowledgeable. I have confidently referred them to others and they have also become satisfied customers.
Good lord, so many good things to say about this place.1) As a woman, Ive been able to be treated with respect and like I am smart and knowledgeable about cars.2) Fast service. Great communication.3) Location is so easy; you can walk to a coffeeshop or restaurant to wait for your car, or take a quick Lyft somewhere.4) Prices are incredible. Plus, you can join their membership club to receive discounts.5) Did I mention that they are honest and treat you with respect?
My wife and I were visiting Nashville when we started having major engine problems in our 2009 Saturn Outlook. We stopped in and talked to Brent at Hillsboro Village Auto Service and got immediate help. He knew what he was doing, did the work very quickly and with the skills of an expert! We were so grateful for Hillsboro Village Auto Center! Our mechanic back in Ohio found the work to be top notch. The cost was extremely reasonable, too. Great mechanic, great garage! Thank you!
Quick and friendly, honest assessment
All I can say it great! I called on Friday, they got me in on Monday and was very honest in their assessment!!! Youve got my business from now on!!!
Great place and nice mechanic. Curtis
Very friendly!
My experience with Hillsboro Village Auto Service has consistently been first rate. They are knowledgeable and honest about needed maintenance and repairs, and they do not try to push or mislead me into unnecessary repairs. They are usually very busy, and they are straightforward about time available to drop off my vehicle. They do not have me leave my car there for days until they can get to it.The staff is courteous and friendly. As an added bonus, I can leave my car, walk to my office at Vanderbilt, and walk back later in the day to pick up my vehicle.
I dropped my 08 Ranger off this morning to get a tire balance issue checked out and possibly fixed. The front desk staff was friendly, the price out the door was reasonable and, best of all, they found the problem and got it taken care of!I just moved to Nashville from Iowa back in August and had been looking for a good, competent local auto shop. Ill be heading right back here again if I need to in the future. Thanks guys!
We got into Nashville and had some issues with our 2015 dodge journey, after countless hours of trying to figure out what was wrong we found a fuse that was blown. We traveled 15 miles to come here because of the way the receptionist made us feel right from the phone all! Brent came out and took care of us in less than 10 mins ! He handled Our issue with professionalism as well as explaining it to us so that we could understand! I would give this place 10 stars if possible!
I was a little concerned about the lack of parking when I came to drop off my vehicle, but was quickly directed by an attendant as to where I could park. Upon entering the shop, I was immediately greeted by Jennifer, who was one busy lady! She let me know where I was in line and thanked me several times for coming in. She let me know of several establishments in the area that were open while we waited. Thankfully, the Pancake Pantry line wasnt too awful! By the time we finished breakfast, the car was done. Great experience. Will be returning.
Came in with a side scrape. Didn’t care about cosmetics, just functionality. I had them inspect for damage.1) They tried to tell me it would cost 500+ to replace the driver’s side mirror. I bought one on amazon for 30 bucks and replaced it myself. Unbelievable.2) They quoted 600+ to fix a control arm and do an alignment, but also said more would probably have to be done but couldn’t tell yet what it would be.I had it towed to another place and had the control arm AND the electronic throttle control (which Hillsboro wasn’t telling me about) fixed for less than their original quote.
Broken down out of town with places to go and people to see was the situation we found ourselves in recently in Nashville. When I explained my dilemma to the folks at Hillsboro village auto I was met with an experience I can only describe as uplifting. I was looking at renting a car to make my trip home and a return trip perhaps weeks in the future to retrieve my car until the service manager told me he would make my repair top priority. All this first thing on a Monday morning! My car was ready that same afternoon. I hope I’m never in the same situation again, but if I am, or you are, I can certainly recommend these great folks to attend to your car like it’s their own.
Every time I am at Hillsboro Village Auto Service, I am reminded that there are honest mechanics out there, and Brent is by far the best person to take my car to! He always explains the problem and says what really needs fixing, and what can wait. The price may be higher than other places, but their warranty cannot be beat - 4 yrs, 40,000 miles! No where else have I found this warranty! The staff is always friendly and I can get a ride or free loaner car if needed. Glad to support an outstanding local business!
Very honest workers here and saved me a lot of money! Ill definitely be back for any car repairs I need.
This shop blew my mind and exceeded normal expectations. I could not for the life of me find a shop that was opened when I was able to get my vehicle serviced. One week and 30 frustrating calls later I miraculously found Hillsboro Auto Service. They graciously offered to pick up my car at work then gave me a loaner car to drive until my car was fixed. These are amazing people with a ton of integrity and God love them for that!
Ive been going to Hillsboro Village Auto Service for years. My most recent visit was a result of a check engine light the same month my emissions were due (of course). We had to replace my downstream oxygen sensor. It wasnt a cheap fix, but Brent explained the work to me, what caused the oxygen sensor to fail, and worked with me to make it doable. Great, honest service as always!
They took advantage of me as a trusting student, told me my front two tires needed replacing and charged $580 and unassembled my heat shield without permission. After I put money into it they tell me I should probably just get a new car. They said my problem was fixed but it became even worse. I come to find the BACK wheels need new rotors and brake pads. Literally did nothing to fix my problem, misdiagnosed it completely and cost me a lot. Super frustrating. Wish I hadnt trusted them.UPDATE: First of all, you have not called me, not once. So thats a baldfaced lie. But please do not, I have no need to speak with you. Second, yes $540, you are correct. I ballparked off the top of my head. You are quite the exemplary fact-checker. Thirdly well done, your classy response using my name shows your true and disgusting colors when I obviously did not want to use my name for my own privacy. Very tasteful response. And I gave enough info for you to effectively identify me, I was not trying to hide who I was. But for the record my review is for other customers, not for you to defensively and vilely respond back so naming me was unnecessary regardless. Finally, YOU DID NOT FIX ANYTHING BY REMOVING THE HEAT SHIELD. Per my initial review, the noise continued the second I drove it off, and continued to worsen, whereupon I brought it elsewhere and the rotors were the obvious issue. It was the rotors and brake pads on the front wheels too you buffoon. I would think a car shop could understand the difference between rotors and a heat shield. Well, not your car shop obviously :) Take care.
Great service. When a problem persisted with my car that was unrelated to the repair I had serviced there, my car was checked out for free. Offered to take my car for me to get my software updated at the dealer for no charge other than what the update cost. Great guys, very honest. Will be going back there for my next repair!
Hillsboro Village Auto Service replaced my brakes quickly, efficiently, and at a great price! Ive used them twice now and both times theyve been extremely straightforward and courteous in addition to doing a fantastic job. I hope I dont have any more car trouble, but if I do, I will definitely be taking my car to Hillsboro Village Auto Service!
Hillsboro Village Auto Service (previously known as Good Neighbor auto service I think) has always been a trustworthy place to take your car here in the Village. Very convenient for those of us who live in the neighborhood. I trust Brent (lead mechanic) to provide a quality assessment of my vehicle. Ive never had any issues. Ive been taking my car here on and off for about 7 years.
I am always pleased with these guys. They are reliable, trustworthy, and convenient. They always call with a report and an estimate before doing work, and they answer any questions. Their online system sends me reminders when its time for a service, and lets me schedule an appointment. I highly recommend them.
I have been working with the same folks here for 15 years. Always helpful, courteous, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and fair.
12/12/2021 - Once again on time and thorough. Excellent service.Excellent, thorough, on time, at estimated price.
My car had to be towed because my clutch was not working. The tow truck driver recommended Hillsboro Village Auto Service, so I had him take it there. I read some online reviews about Hillsboro Village Auto Service and was a little concerned about it being a little on the pricy side. I wasnt excited about the thought of a new clutch repair. Turns out there was a problem with the slave cylinder and it just needed to be replaced. He was able to get the part quickly and I am happy to report that I thought the price was very fair. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful, explained what was going on with my car, and they got the job done quickly with out any hassle. I am so glad to have lucked upon Hillsboro Village Auto Service. It is a little out of the way for me to get over for regular maintenance (oil changes and such), but I would recommend them to anyone in the area.
I had a clicking in the undercarriage of my car for a while. I took it in and the mechanic explained to me that it was hard to find parts for my particular car. He lifted it up, checked it out and explained to me the issue. He recommended I dont sink a bunch of money into the car since it was on its last leg. Quick and friendly, I would recommend to friends and definitely take my vehicle there for any future problems.
As is always the case, I received an appointment at my convenience, the work was explained and done fully, and the car was ready in the time promised.
I love this place. I came in a couple of months ago because I was having an issue with my car. They quickly diagnosed the problem--it was me! I was doing something sort of silly when I was starting the car, which was causing issues with the cars software. They sent me on my merry way, at no charge. I went back yesterday because the car was having some problems starting. This time, it turns out that it was the starter. They were able to schedule me in to make the repair on the same day, after I told them that I was in town from Atlanta and was hoping to get home to my family. Great people.
Honest mechanics. I brought my car in when brakes were squeaking and they told me to wait 3-6 months to get the brakes replaced. They could have sold me something right there but were honest and have therefore earned my loyalty. Eventually did a good job on breaks at reasonable price. Theyve also fixed an oil problem and were very patient in explaining to me the problem and my options. Cant recommend these people enough!
I have been a customer of Good Neighbor Shell and Hillsboro Village Auto Service for years and years and cars and cars. Brent and John have always done a stellar job on my American cars. Recently, I made the plunge and bought a 1986 Roll Royce, and was a little scared they wouldnt want to, or be able to work on it. All though pretty to look at, English cars are known for being a bit high maintenance. Not only were they able to get parts fast, they are providing the same fast, awesome, and reasonably priced service they have performed on my Lincolns, Caddies, and Jeeps. Thanks guys. Rock on!
For the location the price is fair. The staff is honest and does good work. If you do your homework, you will find they do estimate worst case, and they will not charge you for work that they do not do. These guys are very honest, and if you take into account the neighborhood, their prices are very, very fair.
My family cannot extend our gratitude enough for the way you helped us in a time sensitive matter - one of the most friendliest and professional staff I personally have even been associated with. Their compassion makes me proud I live in the South.
Had engine trouble over the weekend and had to drop my car off with a note. They are closed on Sundays so I figured I would just get a call on Monday. To my surprise I got a call on Sunday afternoon, explained the issue (overheating), and they got to it on Monday morning(replaced water pump)! Car was ready to go on Tuesday. Billing was reasonable, staff was friendly and knowledgable, eager to explain the work to me. I would definitely recommend them.
I have always been offered great customer service, honesty about what work I really have done, and better prices than the dealership. You COULD go to a lower-quality establishment, pay less, and receive sub par work and service. I would recommend going to HVAS and getting excellent quality work and more-than-competitive prices. If you want quality work, great service, and even a loaner if you need it, take your vehicle to HVAS.
Very pleased with my experience. Will definitely be back! Great neighborhood spot with fast, friendly service.
Brent was very helpful when I brought in my car for maintanence questions. He was honest and I will definitely return whenever I have issues. Thanks
GREAT customer service. Affordable. Timely repairs. You wont be disappointed.
I ran over a nail this morning and had a big leak. Stopped here and they fixed it with a patch in less tha 30 minutes - and for less than $25! Great, attentive, quick service!
The next day after they did a $500+ radiator replacement my car started leaking coolant. They said that it was the water pump --the owner called me to tell me repeatedly that my water pump was busted!! They said the next repair was going to be about $1,050-- for which they offered me a courtesy discount. At least twice they told me that I just didnt understand what was going on.It took me a couple weeks before I took the car somewhere else (I couldnt afford 1K at the moment) and all they found after tests was a HOSE CLAMP MISSING!! I saw it myself. I asked the new mechanic to show me, given that we were looking for a problem with the water pump. They put the clamp in place and my car has been running perfectly ever since. I was only charged about $50 for the time the mechanic spent. At HILLSBORO VILLAGE AUTO SERVICE they told me I needed a $1050+ repair, when all I needed was a HOSE CLAMP. Perhaps this was unrelated to the radiator--who knows-- but their diagnosis was wrong.
My 2010 porsche cayenne had almost entirely given out, was shuddering and not accelerating, etc. on I-440 near the hillsboro exit. I managed to reach the Village Auto Service and they quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it within a few hours. A coil had burned out and the engine was getting flooded with gasoline, causing issues with the spark plugs. The car is now running as good as new. Pricing is very reasonable, too.
Another outstanding service experience. Im getting an old truck running and Brent is doing the real work. HVAS has always performed only the service that is needed. They always check before doing anything that was not already discussed.
