I am always overwhelmed when looking in a store where there are so many options. This can prevent me from experiencing a shop fully. Thankfully, Mr. Phil, the stores owner, made me feel very at ease. Not only that, his read on my interests, tastes, and personal knowledge and experience as a jewelry designer, was insightful. We shared the same love for the more old school bead discovering experiences over the more modern - and rather cold - online shopping, as well as a deep love and appreciation for natural gem stones. We both share a keen eye for the artistry of beading, stringing gem upon gem, beauty upon beauty. Mr. Phil and his wife have numerous hand crafted pieces of jewelry on display in the bungalow; stunning jewelry that reveals their artistry and love of beads. The floor boards in the Beaded Bungalow creak when you walk on them. That begs the stories of all the memories made over the 27 or so years that Mr. Phil has owned this cottage-like store in the artsy Nashville neighborhood with its cool coffee shops and boutiques. I got to hear several of those stories during my visits to the Bungalow. Mr. Phil has stocked his store with hand picked treasures, some so rare and old school precious that they are kept in a separate room. Ive purchased many of those treasures, and will be purchasing many more. I trust Mr. Phil to tell me truthful details about the beads Im interested in, assuring me that the jewelry I make and sell to my customers is of top notch quality.I had all but given up on finding a physical location in which to purchase beads and findings where I felt a connection to the vendor and had access to a knowledgeable source. Im so glad I gave the search one more chance and found Mr. Phils Beaded Bungalow.

Beautiful bead store! The owner was very knowledgeable with many years experience and a joy to converse with. I cant wait to gift my friend with the unique and beautiful bracelet that was too beautiful to pass up! Looking forward to making earrings from the amethyst I found as well!

The shop is dark and needs better lighting. The owner took my friends purse and put it at the counter like he thought we would be stealing. We are both nicely dressed, we have money, drive a nice car. Both honest, working ladies. No reason to be suspicious of us. Also the restroom door was open when we arrived. We were the ONLY customers in this tiny store. My friend asked to use the restroom and he told her it was out of service and we should go to a restaurant a couple of blocks away. We left ok and will never go back.

Unfortunately, this establishment doesnt seem to think there is a pandemic. No mask on the man (owner?) offering to help us. We were masked up, trying to stay safe. He is wanting to show us a smaller room off the side, which would be worse for social distancing. We declined and left, nor will we return.

Phil is patient, knowledgeable, and most important- has a delightful sense of humor. The Beaded Bungalow is just that... A bungalow with seemingly every bead needed to complete a project, add-on to an old favorite, or to simply hold because its beautiful. Take a peek. Youll be glad you did!

Ive had very good experiences in the past, but will be much more careful from here on. I brought a necklace in for re-stringing. I carefully chose some wooden beads and a pewter closure, all of which cost about $10.00 according to the owner. He verbally estimated that the repair would cost $50, which I thought pricey, but hed spent about 15 minutes with me. I gave him a $25 deposit. He did not give me a written estimate. I picked up the necklace today, and he charged me an additional $71.00. When I asked why, he told me it would cover two hours of labor, plus $20.00 for materials. I paid for it, told him I was upset that it cost so much--the piece wasnt worth it. I left without a receipt.I came back an hour later and asked for a receipt. He gave me my check back, but I refused to take it. He had, after all, done some work. He made me decide what to do, so I paid him for an hour and a half labor (51.50) and 20.00 for parts. If you decide to have Beaded Bungalow do your repairs, make sure you get a written estimate first. I was wrong to not have requested it, but any retailer who marks up products by an additional100% (on top of his normal retail mark-up) is wrong.

Great beads in a well-organized store, and I wont fault the owner for getting every penny he can out of everybody (which he does). He always strikes me as a slightly scary curmudgeon, fwiw.

Everyone was very nice, made every effort to repair a necklace at a reasonable cost and warned me of what it would cost before going forward with the repair. Give me a less expensive option.
