I buy here as a contractor and as a homeowner. I get treated the same both ways. Walker is a unique store in 2 distinct ways.1. Walker has that small town hardware store feel with the customer service aspect, however they have the inventory, workforce, and volume to make them a world class dealer to large scale contractors. All policies are fair and in my opinion straight down the middle as all business should be.2. Customer service here is never lacking. I have come to know many great people here that I would consider friends. I enjoy coming here and seeing everyone work together effectively and still be able to carry on conversations with their customers. Some names to mention are Nick, Ty, Ivan, Newt, chief, tim, Ray, etc. There are too many to name. Great guys at a great company.In summary, do not hesitate to do business here. You definitely will not lose anything however, you stand to gain a great partnership and may even make a few friends. If there ever is a rare mishap, (Ray one of the owners) is a fair and honest man and will make things right.

I am a local framer. The customer service here is the greatest in any company, Lumber or otherwise. They save me time, money and are a relief due to their reliability. Also, they simply make me better by offering structural advice / assistance. I have worked with Oakley, 84 Lumber and others—i cannot express how thankful I am that Walker Lumber is around.

Not Contractor friendly at all...they will nickel and dime you regardless of how much you spend. Return policy and deliveries are a joke...beware! Best buy elsewhere if you are a Contractor.

The staff is always so helpful, and so kind. They even offer guidance when it comes to lvls and beams. I have purchased small materials from Walker Lumber before and have always had a good experience. Today, I went needing to purchase all the lumber and supplies to build a porch on my house. I walked in with only a drawing of my design. Denny took the time to walk me through locating and deciding on all of the materials Id need to purchase, while at the same time offering me advice and tips on building the porch. The whole process only took about 30 minutes and all of the materials are going to be delivered to my house whenever I choose. I would highly recommend Walker Lumber to anyone looking for reasonably priced building materials, advice, and convenience! A++++

Have dealt with them many times over the past three years. I have always found them to be very competitive on price – often even cheaper than the big box stores. Their employees are always very helpful and knowledgeable. Howard in the retail office and Mike in the lumber shed are the best!

The bomb. Pay a tiny percent more for old school convenience with free delivery for big deliveries tailored to your worksite. Usually less than 24 hrs out. Not a pro? This is the place to find immediate knowledgeable help on any household project.

Chief and Ryan did a fantastic job helping me pick out pieces of lumber and loading them into my car. They also took the time to make sure they were wrapped safely and all precautions were taken for safe transport. Would highly recommend Walker Lumber to anybody.

Outstanding service! I could hardly believe when I walked into this place how neat, clean, organized, friendly the place and people were. Everyone was dressed neatly and were busily helping customers. When I was checking out I needed to add something to my shopping list, the person behind the counter make quick work out of getting me my last item, It was not a foot dragging 15 minute ordeal.The guys in the yard were extremely helpful and efficient. I did not know such a place existed and will definitely make this my preferred store in the future.

There staffs (always very Helpful and friendly) they have things that home depot & Lowes doesnt have or can get, Lumber materials are of a better quality and they can order materials with a quick turnaround time. In & out times generally quiker also (and tools & such left in the back of my truck i dont fear being gone when I return to my truck )))

Walker has become my go to place for lumber in the Nashville area. Tired of waiting in line at other big box stores and searching for help, loading the lumber cart then fighting to load the truck.Not the case here. The drive-thru lumber yard is well organized, fully stocked and with plenty of willing associates to get you in and out.They have a full hardware store as well. Pretty much everything you might need for your renovation projects.Greatly appreciate the small-town feel in this fast paced city.

This is a rare place: locally owned, staffed with people who know their business. Be aware, though, that their main business is contractors and builders. If you need that kind of stuff there is no place better.

The employees are always so helpful - I often walk in having no idea how to complete my project and leave with the hardware and knowledge to get it done. Immensely faster than Home Depot or Lowes - the employees know the store well and get you out the door quick.

Awesome place and open to the public. Jeff told me what size LVL i needed based on some information i gave him. I removed a load bearing wall to join my kitchen with the living room. Thank you Walker Lumber and Jeff.

We were looking for some small thickness plywood to refinish a couple of chair seats. Not a big deal, but the young man (Im sorry I didnt get his name) who helped us knew exactly what we needed and took us back to the saw shop to find a piece that would work. He found a piece that was what we were looking for and then asked if we needed it cut (we didnt). He then proceeded to shake my hand and say no charge. WOW! What service! You wont find that in any big box store. Walkers is the BEST!

**BUYER BEWARE**This store has a nice selection of material, however, their return policy is horrible. I had material delivered out to one of my job sites. Instead of placing the items that couldn’t get wet in one of 3 large garage bays, the driver elected (apparently Walkers policy) to leave everything outside and attempt to cover with plastic. Around $850 in material was ruined and Walker refused to even split the cost with me. I purchase hundreds of thousands of dollars in material a year and I will be taking my business elsewhere.

This is what all businesss should be like..Very helpful and cheerful. I couldnt have been more happy with my visit.I would highly recommend Walker lumber and hardware.
