Was in Nashville for a concert and got extremely lucky this place was recommended to us.My wife and I got a cheese burger and cubano for lunch. Both were exceptional, but I want to call out the cubano was the best weve ever had, period. Thats saying something given my wife is a cuban lover and its her go to, so weve had a lot of them.Being from out of town, didnt buy any meats, but the butcher side exuded quality and passion. I debated the entire lunch the logistics of getting some meats to take back to Iowa, even though I have a local butcher already.Overall, it was so good, I ended up buying another mans meat rub, just to toss some extra business their way and have a reminder. I have my own meat rub blend Ive been honing for 20 years, and worked in scratch made kitchens for years, so thats saying something.

Purchased organs for my cats- beef liver, heart and kidney of lamb frozen at approximately $6 per piece.. Friendly and helpful staff! Small dry goods deli selection, cheese, mustard ect and beverages. They had a true deli- sandwiches n such... next time! I parked in the parking lot behind the building.

For meat in Nashville, this is the place. Not only do they clearly have the best quality and best tasting meat, these guys know what they are talking about. The gentlemen behind the counter are knowledgeable, friendly and will take all the time in the world to help you choose the best cuts for you. I have become so spoiled, I cant go anywhere else.

Loved this place. The smell reminds me of a butcher shop in Germany. All the meats looked fresh and well cut. I came in for the burger and fries.FANTASTIC burger. Every bite was charred, juicy goodness. The garlic aioli was originally for the fries but I dipped the burger in it because it was so good.I say if you want specialty burgers, go to Burger Republic. If you want a basic, damn good burger, then Bare Bones should be your choice

Excellent small butcher selling quality products, including some hard to find dry goods. They also offer hot sandwiches and their burger is particularly delicious.

Come for the grocery run, stay for the sandwiches! The meat selection here is really good, the quality is top notch, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and if you arent sure what kind of cut you need you can always describe what kind of meal you are making and they have excellent suggestions. That alone would have me coming back, but the sandwiches and the beef fat fries elevate this to one of the best restaurants in Nashville! It doesnt matter what sandwich you get, they are all amazing, so go with your gut. If available, do NOT skip the fries, they are everything in life you didnt know you needed.

I called and was put together and affordable package of 4 steaks. They were all good but the NY Strip was magnificent. My step-dad said it was one of the best hes ever had.I definitely plan to be back for more steak.

This place is the BEST butcher in Nashville. Hands down the best cuts of meats, awesome service and delicious sandwiches too. I recommend the cubano and for meats - holiday or music city ham, any of their sausages and their pork chops (bone in or without). You really can not go wrong anything from Bare Bones.

Went here for lunch today. Got the pork sandwich and a side of fried potatoes. It was quite tasty.Sandwich: The pork sandwich was oozing with juices and prepared with braised greens which made it feel more southern than just a sandwich full of high-quality meat. The bread was good. The sandwich portions are not large for the price, but I feel that this is to be expected at a local butcher. I do wish they had cut the sandwich in half so that it was easier to handle (or served it with a knife to allow me to cut it). Some of the meat fell out of the bottom of my sandwich because it was difficult to hold.Sides: I got the fried potatoes. They were darn tasty. Fried to perfection and salted just right. However, I feel that the size of the sides was too small given the cost. I got perhaps a handful of potatoes for $4. The gentleman next to me got a small cup of chili (as a side) for the same price. He raved about the chili, but he too mentioned that the cup was small. I would not buy the sides again unless the portions become larger or the price gets cheaper.Beer: 6 beers on tap. All non-domestic. Reasonably priced.Staff: The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. At times they seemed a little disorganized, but I imagine that this will be worked out as the shop gets more experience under its belt.Interior: The interior was industrial-chic, which I am getting a little tired of, but I feel that it works well for a butcher shop. It gives the feeling of cleanliness and efficiency. If I remember correctly, they have 4 small tables and seating at a small bar. I had no issues finding seating, but I imagine they might run out during lunch rushes. The wall next to the bar is a glass garage door leading to a patio which I expect to add seating in the summer months.Butchery: They said for now they are pork and beef only and will be adding cheeses soon. Prices are not posted in the display case, which would be a nice addition. The prices of the few items I inquired about were similar to Porter Road Butcher.Store: They have homemade chili and beef stock for sale. They also resell local dairy products. They have another (very small) section for local produce. They list which farm the produce came from too, which is nice.Overall, a nice addition to the nations. Glad to see them join the neighborhood.

Couldn’t be more happy with the service from my first visit (over the phone). Connor was very knowledgeable and recommended a cut of beef that was half the price of the one I was initially looking at. Cooked it that night and it was incredible! I also got some sausage that had more flavor than any sausage I’ve had in a very long time! I was very impressed with the entire experience, from the product to the customer service. I will definitely be back!

Stopped in for a bite at the lunch counter. The beef tongue sandwich and beef fat fried taters were delicious. I picked up a couple of pork chops on the way out. The butcher was kind enough to Vacuum seal the chops and throw them on ice for my long drive home.

Bought a brisket 14lb brisket (pre trimmed) recently and checked out the rest of their selection while I waited. Theyve got a great quality selection. The only complaint is the parking is a bit tight and is a one way lot. But thats more of a Nashville issue and not enough to take off a star. I plan to be going there more in the future.

I bought 7 lbs of St. Louis ribs for over $70. They were prepped very well and were of high quality. The only reason this does not get 4 or 5 stars is because of the price. For $10 per lb, you can get the finished product at some of the best bbq joints across the country. You can spend half the cost at Costco for the same quality ribs.On a separate note, the sandwiches here are amazing!

Husband and I stopped by as we were passing through on our honeymoon, we were looking to get some meat for our next camping meal.Not only did we get the best strip steaks we have ever had, but we also bought their beef bacon (which we have never had, but was astounding) and pork bacon (also amazing).Needless to say, we will definitely be back for more on our next trip! - 2 Happy Hoosiers

Amazing cheeseburger! Amazing side of potatoes - very rich. (Yes you can eat there). Probably the best cheeseburger I ever had; and Im in my 60s! This is part of the amazing food scene in The Nations neighborhood.

Great butcher! Extremely clean & organized. Helpful employees as well! For those wondering, they DO sell chicken. You can get it whole or cut into their respective parts. I am curious to know if they will de-bone the chicken, however. Also, the eggs were great quality 🙌🏾

Very pleased! Everyone was friendly, the place was clean and well organized, and most importantly, the meat was great! It’s hard to find good Uruguayan/Argentinian Asado de tira and chorizos. Pork belly was delicious too (for Korean BBQ). I already told my Uruguayan friends where they can find good in Nashville :)

Drove almost an hour to be told that they don’t take orders for the butcher after 1:00 on Sundays but no where on their website does it tell you that. When we asked an employee, his response was oh you should have called. Then called and talked to the owner and he was just as ignorant and said you can place an order for pick up a different day. Will never come back to this place. I guess when you have such great reviews it doesn’t matter what kind of customer service you have.

Ive started coming here more & more. The meat is obviously great. The difference maker for me is the guys. In a dozen or so visits, I have never once picked up a hint of impatience or negativity from any of the guys working here. The customer service is crazy top notch. I really, really appreciate that. I always feel so welcome and valued. The meats are definitely worth the price. And I highly recommend grabbing a bite here as well. I think the cheeseburger is one of the better cheeseburgers in Nashville. I cant recommend this place enough.

Hands down the best burger in Nashville (and there is some stuff competition). Classic burger style, amazing beef, always cooked to perfection. The fried potatoes are pretty stellar too. Only thing that would make this place better if they stayed open longer!

Bare Bones was the only butcher shop in the greater Nashville that carries picanha (sirloin cap) with the fat cap on. The butcher I called trimmed a cut for me ahead of time while I was on my way there. Very reasonable priced for 🥩 that was dry aged for ~50 days. Super friendly and I would definitely recommend to anybody looking for great beef/meat and service.

The burger was one of the best I’ve had in Nashville and the beef fat fries were spectacular. This place is primarily a butcher shop, and that just adds to the atmosphere if you’re grabbing lunch there.

HOLY COW the beef fat fried taters are incredible and the sandwiches are amazing. They also have a nice little selection of dry goods, cheeses, veggies, etc. for your next dinner or charcuterie! One of our new favorite spots on the West side.

I love this place. The staff is super helpful, knowledgeable, personable, and inclusive. That whole local butcher sensation that we all think is lost maintains here, undoubtedly. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The fact that hot food with local products, and beer, is sold knocks it out of the park.

Stopped by for lunch and had a hard time finding a spot to sit at first due to it being pretty hopping for a small place! The food was amazing; Ill definitely be back for lunch when I can also bring home some cuts of meat. It seemed like there were a lot of regulars in there, and I can understand why.

I have never had a bad experience here and the guys working at this shop are talkative and friendly. Everything is delicious and the pastrami is tied with the roast beef but both are 10/10. Pricey but rightfully so and absolutely worth it. This isn’t a McDonald’s, it’s a butcher shop.

Purchased two Ribeyes, one fillet and two sausages. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it! Steaks were fantastic! The butcher informed us that the beef is dry aged for thirty-five days and it had great flavor! Well done, Bare Bones!

Incredible. Ive been in several times on the butcher shop side, but had just never sat down and enjoyed the restaurant side. That all changed today. After filing my taxes, I figured I owed myself a beer and a burger. Wow! The burger and the fried potatoes, accompanied by a Bearded Iris Homestyle, is one of the best lunches Ive treated myself to lately!! Do yourself a favor and pop in for lunch while you grab your protein from the butcher. Fantastic!

Nice butcher and market with just outstanding sandwiches. The meatball sub was one of the best I have ever had. Fresh local bread, delicious meatballs, and I loved the crushed tomato style sauce.

We had quite an experience! Not only was the burger old school awesome, we had a “Debris” New Orleans style po boy, and a roast beef sandwich, the delicious beef fat fried potatoes, and the greens. We also scored some house made beef jerky, a slab of pate (which is really head cheese) and a pair of beef cheeks to make at home later. In addition--they sell whole tanned cow hides! It seems they bring in about 1 cow per week to butcher and sell--and in the process they send the hide for that cow to be tanned to sell! We bought the hide! Again--quite a score. We also picked up a jar of strawberry preserves. We had a great meal, got some home decor, bought tomorrow nights entree, and some other essentials. This is the type of establishment that if we wandered into this exact same store while on vacation, I would think, why cant we have a place like this in Nashville? Well, now we do!

We had beef po boy and ham & cheese sandwiches for lunch today along with the beef fat potatoes. We agreed that it was among the best lunch weve ever eaten 😋. Well be back for sure!

Where to start. First off, Patrick & Wesley get it. Top Shelf at every level. Not to mention their team knows what they are talking about and are always willing to take time with each customer no matter what. One of if not THE best cheese burgers in town. It is perfect. From the bun/meat/cheese ratio to the condiment/pickle combo-perfection. If the tongue sammie is on the menu, do not be afraid, order it. Probably the best I have ever had. After you eat, ask the guys to cut you a nice 1 1/4-1/2 tomahawk ribeye and go home and make some magic.

Great food! I tried the beef fat potatoes. Excellent! Also ordered the Cubano sandwich. Freaking outstanding as well! Took 10-15 mins for food, but sweet baby Jesus it was worth it! Will def be returning. Thinking about getting my annual xmas ribeye roast here.
