Nothing like a front porch and coffee!!We score the Cirque Weirdo Drip a 8.3, the Good Folks Fast Tracks espresso 8.3 and the French Toast Latte a 8.7!Their breakfast sandwich and breakfast burritos look amazing! Great assortment of muffins, donuts and rice crispy treats to satisfy all! As a bonus, you can order ahead and use their drive thru for easy pickup. Looking forward to our next visit!
Stopped in from out of town with 4 others every one of us loved our coffees! Not liked, loved! Please franchise and send one to New England
Fresh yummy Cafe food, not too expensive, great location and cool staffGreat coffee and tea selections 🕊
Probably my favorite coffee shop in Nashville! Great little spot with yummy food options and great coffee. Also great service--always have a good experience here.
EXCEPTIONAL customer service, really enjoyed my interactions with the employees here. The parking was very difficult and stressful, which took away a bit from the experience. I felt very comfortable at this establishment, and confident in the safety precautions they had in place, though the back patio is a touch cramped. As for the quality of the food and coffee, I’ve definitely had better. For the price, I can’t say that it was worth it really. A bit too expensive for the quality and portion size. All this said, I did have a very positive experience here, though I’m not too sure I’ll be back.
Friendly staff. Awesome atmosphere. We went in for breakfast and sat on the porch. The food was amazing. I recommend a BLAT ( bacon lettuce Avacado Tomatoe) and i tried the oompa loompa frozen coffee . They also have oatmilk as an option which was great !
Chai latte is amazing!!! And the breakfast too. People are so nice
We got cortados and the espresso was bitter and acidic. Seemed like a cute lil place though; may try something else on the menu next time were in the area.
I visited Nashville from Chicago and I came here TWICE. The French toast iced coffee amazing. The second time I had the go green smoothie which is perfect 10/10; not to sweet it’s just fresh and very great. Then, they had gluten free bread, so I had the chicken pesto sandwich with GF bread and 1000/10.Will be coming back when I visit again.
Havent tried the food, but the coffee is great. Pleasant service and high quality coffee. A great spot to chill for a minute or to take something to go. They have traditional espresso drinks, as well as a variety of crafted recipes they offer. Check them out! Theyve been in business since 1998!
Great good and such a chill vibe. Loved the grasshopper mocha-perfect amount of flavoring! Perfect to sit outside and enjoy your choices.
Do yourself a favor and try their dirty chai latte…your life will be forever improved!
Great way to start your day! The nitro might be borderline illegal in some states.
This is a great small eateries with great coffee and smoothies. The breakfast items are spectacular.
Save yourself some time, money and dignity. Baristas are naturally cranky but this staff takes the cake. If the attitudes dont send you packing, the ambience might. Anyone reviewing this place praising the atmosphere is not observing anything properly. The whole building is old, the front porch has coolers, equipment and materials stored away in plain sight. The smell of coffee mixes w/ TexMex from next door. If the customer is always right, why do I feel so wrong for spending money here?
SO SO GOOD!! Quick and easy, too. They offer dairy alternatives including almond milk, coconut milk, and oat milk. Their Honey Bee latte and cappuccino is beautifully delicious!
Great vegetarian breakfast and the staff is friendly.
Simple delicious fresh food and delightful service! All produce was crip and delicious bread was amazing. Coffee - best Ive had in a long time!
Good local coffeehouse -- reminds me of good coffee spots in college towns. Love the breakfast sandwiches, as they offer variety and have a fresh from the griddle quality. Granola wraps are fantastic. Lunch sandwiches have sparser selection, but generally good, as well. All use fresh, locally-baked bagels or bread. Speaking of which, they also have a small, but fresh selection baked goods. Most importantly, their coffee drinks are good and they can make just about any variety imaginable, including tea/chai. Can be very crowded, as this a small eatery. Parking is tricky -- try to use the adjacent Blue Coast Burrito lot, if you can. Worth the trouble!
Food is always good, and the honeybee latte might be one of my favorite drinks from any local coffee shop in town. Highly recommend!
Great healthy breakfast selection.
We will call or order ahead and pick it up in the drive thru. Our kids love the granola wraps!
Great specialty lattes and coffee drinks. Also really good handmade pastries. Love the art for sale on the wall too!
I’m not a coffee drinker but I thought I’d try the Dirty Chai and well.... I drank it in like 3 gulps it was so AWESOME!!! I also ordered the Breakfast Burger on an everything bagel and again AWESOME! Wasn’t a fan of the lettuce but still worthy of 5 stars!!!! #DELICIOUS 🤤😋
Good breakfast sandwich but a little more expensive than I thought it would be.
It was definitely American coffee. Very sweet, lots of milk, not enough coffee. Not what you would expect for what you pay for it.
Wow the dirty chai latte was out of this world! Its so hard to find a good chao tea. The grasshopper latte was great as well. Staff were very friendly and service was fast. Will definitely be back!
Small and cozy coffee house with interesting drink combinations. They have a dash of everything and a food menu too. Non-dairy options include soy, almond, coconut, and oat milk (if memory serves correctly) Local art decorate the space along and a community board near the restrooms. Indoor and covered outdoor seating. Wheelchair accessible.
Their smoothies were amazing, and the breakfast burger was awesome! Glad they have veg options!
Love this place! I always get their Lox and Cream Cheese on an Everything Bagel. Got the Mangover smoothie last time. This isnt your fast food restaurant smoothie--its the real deal. Every time Im close by, I try to stop in here. Wish I had found it a long time ago.Only downside... Parking is tricky especially if youre in a bigger vehicle. Tricky, but worth it!
I would have to agree with Ashley. I live right around the corner. I’ve come in many times, give people the benefit of a doubt, maybe they’re just having a bad day. But you’re in customer service as well. There is one continuous person that is just unfriendly and unhelpful every time. Major lack of any energy or a smile. This week was the last time. It’s like being in a bad relationship, time to move on. There’s another bagel shop around the corner with much more appreciation. I tried, you all didn’t.
Quaint and delicious. Only stopped through on my way to the Cumberland plateau and had to save it as a hidden gem. They have gluten free options as well which makes the ol’ back and forth with the wife way easier! Flying out of Nashville soon and will have to grab some joe on the way to the airport.
Love visiting Sam & Zoe’s when I can. They make an excellent Cuban latte.
Loved the lavender honey latte!
Cute coffee and breakfast place just south of Nashville.
Customer service here is so poor. The baristas were far from inviting & seemed like they didn’t want to be there. Won’t be coming again.
Courteous Cashier. Thanked me for my purchase. Clean store but dirty old gas station restrooms.
Saw reviews that suggested the dirty chai. It was great!
I ordered the special, I wish I could remember what it was because it was D-lish! It had egg, pepper jack cheese, bacon and strawberry jam on a biscuit that had pepper in it too! A very busy place on Saturday mornings with young and old patrons. Friendly, fairly quick service. I also had the grasshopper coffee with mint flavoring, it wasnt very minty but still tasty. If you get one of their huge cinnamon rolls make sure you add-on then to warm it up to add to the yumminess!
I’ve never been disappointed with Sam & Zoes.. Whether you’re looking for food or just a coffee, this place is always consistent in their quality and service.. I’ve been coming here for years to grab chai and coffee for our studio sessions.. Their iced and hot drinks are great, and the few times that I was less than impressed they offered to remake my drink.. The staff has been generally nice and helpful in my experience.. The design and layout of this cafe is nice and simple.. There are some tables outside if you’re looking for outdoor seating.. There’s also a drive thru in case you’re in a rush!! Sam & Zoe’s is one of many quality coffee shops in Nashville, but it’s definitely worth a try..
Creative lattes and delicious sandwiches! Love coming here for a honey bee, dirty chai, chai freeze and early bird breakfast sandwich on a croissant! Soooo good!!
Best hot cuban around.....
Finally stopped in after hearing so many good things. Glad I did and was back after two days! Smooth espresso and ANAZING chai! Best chai in the city! I’ve searched for a good (spicy) chai since moving here 4 years ago. Finally found it!Staff is always so kind and happy to chat! Great little gem!
Isnt it a healthcode violation for your bathroom to be out of order? I would think during these times its very important to wash your hands. I really dont want to eat hand sanitizer with my food. So, that being said the food is always good the coffee is fair. Its Berry Hill so the parking is very congested.
Ordered their hot chicken sandwich through the new app. Really like the new app. The sandwich was delicious as are most of the chicken sandwiches (pesto chicken!!). I usually prefer more sauce or spread than the usual serving so I ask for extra on the side. The honeybee iced is my fav drink anywhere and my partner who doesnt like coffee loves it too. Ordering stuff to go here is better now with the app but the pickup is still a little iffy half the time - just seems like they dont have a smooth process nailed down yet. But it hasnt kept me from coming back. I always feel like Im getting quality food at this neighborhood staple.
What an amazing place...It has a life-giving, vibrant vibe that is peaceful, whimsical and warm! You can stay for hours to catch up or pop in briefly, but its always the same-- an oasis, haven, a place where you can just be! They have a kindhearted, quirky, unique and fun staff! There are wonderful hot and cold teas drinks, etc and great food options! Whether you are on the go or just want to stay a while, it is a hidden treasure trove in Nashville, Ive been going to for years!!!! I always hear stories, memories of how people met, connected and were inspired at Sam and Zoes!
Dirty Chai have to try, perks you up and so good. I also enjoyed the Avocado and Tomato wrap!
Excellent food and coffee, service is a little slow, but worth the wait
The food is good and so is the coffee--my only complaint is that the portions feel small for the price. Theyre often quite busy, but have done really well during quarantine in regards to taking care of staff and patron health.Naysayers are just a bunch of Karens.
Their chai latte is like a warm hug, it is literally the BEST I have ever had! It cant even compare to Starbucks. Plus, I love the feel of this quaint little spot. A Nashville fave! :)
Excellent coffee. Grasshopper Latte is a must try !
I enjoyed the atmosphere. There are quirky paintings all around. The cashier was very patient with me answering all my questions as I got familiar with the menu. I am a tea drinker and she showed me the herbal collection they had. It was so good. The sandwich I bought hit the spot! I would definitely recommend checking out this place!
Great coffee house feel, very eclectic yet comfortable. Imaginative flavor combinations. The iced Cuban latte and Chilly Chai were delicious. Thanks for a great experience!
I love this spot! They have a drive thru, which you can also text ahead so your order is ready when you arrive. You can also go in and sit down. Every food and drink item Ive gotten here has been fantastic. Good vibes.
Very eclectic little spot! Great coffee drinks and delicious food items... both savory and sweet. Parking is great in the morning but could be more challenging around lunch. I will definitely go back.
Very friendly. Everything was fresh
This place was great! The food was great, they work decently fast, and they have friendly staff. The bathroom was a bit meh but not bad enough to take away from the experience.Loved the atmosphere too! I felt like I was in a bungalow near the beach! It also feels tucked away so you feel like youre in a really cool somewhat unknown spot.
Not a local but felt welcome here. Showed up outside of peak hours and didnt have any parking issues that others have. Nice atmosphere on the inside showcasing to sell art.The coffee was good, not blown away but would suggest over a coffee chain. Cuban was a smooth drinking choice, more creamy than bold or sweet. The Honey Bee was too sweet for my liking but did taste like honey, not cheap sweeteners. I would definitely put this as a suggested drink if you like sweet coffee drinks rather than bold ones.Breakfast bagel was nothing fancy but good. The Californian, per my wife, was very good with the flavors meshing well and the bagle was perfect being crunchy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. The Banana Wrap had good flavors and wasnt dry like so many others are. Definitely enjoyed it. Oatmeal didnt have anything special to it.
I think this place has the best dirty chai latte in Nashville. They also have excellent smoothies and a decent pastry selection. I would personally skip the breakfast burrito in favor of the bagel sandwiches, but the burrito is okay too, just make sure to ask for extra salsa.
I drive through Nashville about once a year for work and always plan my stops around a trip to Sam and Zoes. Their Fall drinks are amazing...Maple latte and Smores latte are my favorite! Cute, Gilmore Girl-esque environment, friendly, knowledgeable staff... Highly recommend! Thanks and see you soon from FL! 😁👍🏻
I had the weekend special which was the keish. Some of the best egg pie I have had! Along with it was the iced grasshopper latte which was fantastic. My friend ordered the Honey Latte and it tasted like I put a spoonful of honey in my mouth, with a touch of coffee. Love the seasonal options!
Nice place, good coffee!
Stopped by at a little after 3:30p on a Tuesday. The website said they closed at 4:00p. Got sorry, were closed and the door was literally slammed in our face. Will not return.
Always good coffee food and staff.
This is arguably my favorite breakfast in Nashville. Quick, easy, and tasty; every time. I try to steer clear of sweetened coffee drinks, but Im a little addicted to the Honeybee latte. Also, the text message ordering is great!
They make it look easy but it isnt. Lovely coffee n even lovelier humans. Thank you for the no cell phone sign... strange enough it made me feel better.
Maybe it was my foreign accent, but the atmosphere was cold and uninviting. I ordered my drink sat and waited, when they called my drink, she questioned if I actually had ordered my drink. I’m sure it’s a great place if your local, but not quite the friendliest if you’re from out of town.
Sweet, no frills coffee shop in Berry Hill. I like working here on occasion, and like that they keep coconut milk. Coffee is great and they have seasonal herbal teas that I always appreciate. Also, they have tasty simple breakfast sandwiches and gluten free bread. =)
Casual & cozy atmosphere. Great coffee, tea, & smoothies. I havent tried the food, but they seem to have a good selection. Tiny and charming place. Very friendly staff. Morning rush can be extreme so dont stop if youre in a rush during peak hours. Ive been going there for years and absolutely love it.
I really love the atmosphere. I get my breakfast sandwich and tea from here at least once per week. Very tasty!
My kind of place! Its a cute little hipster coffee shop that serves food and baked goods as well. I got the peanut butter banana wrap and it was amazing! My friend got salmon on a bagel and it disappeared in seconds so I assume it was good! We also took some selections from the bakery to go.If you are female, definitely check out the womens bathroom while you are here. It has a mural painted inside showing powerful women from the past up to the present. I wish I had gotten a photo!
I love it here! The food is always great (even the gluten free bread)! The specialty coffee drinks are great. I had a Go Green smoothie for the first time the other day, it was so good!
After travelling the world for a year and a half, I developed a love for lattes. Since coming home to Nashville a year ago I have been searching for the same kind of amazing coffee. I finally found it at Sam and Zoes. Best Latte since I have been home. Foam for days. I will be back.... a lot.
Ive been in love with this place for years. Still one of my all time favorite coffee houses. Its been through a lot of changes over the last couple decades. They still make good drinks, have good food, and have a nice atmosphere. I miss the couches on the front porch. But there is more outdoor seating than there used to be and more parking. And even though I miss the old school crew, they do have better more consistent hours now 😁.
Sam & Zoes is one of my favorite spots to get coffee and quick bite to eat in Nashville. Its much more unassuming than most Nashville coffee shops, which makes me love it 10x more! My favorite drink is the Honey Bee, and I love the wraps that they have available for breakfast. The only time I would not recommend Sam & Zoes is if you havent eaten all day and want a big, hearty meal.
Great vegan options! Plant based milks for your coffee and and an amazing tofu sandwich with vegan pesto! The staff is always so nice!
Remains one of the best OG coffee shops in Nashville. Consistently great and much less pretentious than other shops on town
Very understated establishment. Quiet and comfortable to stay for half an hour or five hours. The patio doesn’t have the most picturesque view but stands out for its peacefulness. Most importantly, great coffee. Seasonal lattes and tea lattes that are original and delicious and the basic drink menu made to perfection. I strongly recommend any of the seasonal lattes. Take a chance, you can’t go wrong. If you want something more standard but new to you, a Cuban (made with sweetened condensed milk) will knock your socks off.
Honey bee is DELICIOUS. Always my favorite hot coffee. Probably great cold too, but Im a hot coffee lover and the honey bee is hands down in my top 5 of best coffees Ive ever had.
They have the best food, best coffee (especially chai), great staff, and totally affordable. Nothing pretentious about this place, just a great coffee shop.
One of the best places in Berry Hill. Whether youre grabbing a cup of coffee, lunch, or a snack...this little place is worth exploring. Take notice of the artist of the week featured on the back wall. Sometimes, during peak hours, it can take a few minutes to get your order. But its definitely worth the wait.
Unless you are in your twenties and weight less than 120 pounds, you will quickly figure out this place is not for you. Meaning, not only is the physical space tiny with no place to stand in line or move around, the service seems to be a privilege (that is if you get any at all). My first visit was to the drive through, which was very satisfying and pleasant. My second visit inside was an entirely different experience. Not only was I overcharged for an item that was included with the meal, the smarmy cashier argued with me about it, and then conferred with the other cashier. Then, both argued with me. It was clear by the menu that I was being overcharged. This was all during a busy lunch time with people waiting to order. It was embarrassing that I had to nearly demand the money back-- it was not offered. I am normally a pretty easy going person until poor service is delivered as if I asked for it. The reason this review rates Sam & Zoes with two stars and not one, are the cooks and the drive through. The food is quite tasty, but not worth another fifteen dollar lunch to me.
Great little shop with outdoor seating that is really pleasant. The place is pretty small so it was good we went an hour before closing.I had one of my kids with me on this trip and because she is not a smoothie fan, there was not a lot to choose from for her.The iced chai I had was great!
Great little coffee shop. The food is made fresh
Really nice local place. Friendly staff and the dirty chai was the best Ive had.
Set out on an adventure, this morning, to find something hot to drink with this untimely/early Autumn weather...something I hadnt had in a while and ended up here. Had a Mexican Mocha hot chocolate, which is just hot chocolate with cinnamon syrup added. It did not disappoint. They actually have a unique feature for Drive-thru orders. On the website, you have to text them your order. Once you do, you receive a text back to indicate when your order will be ready for pickup.
The Green Eggs and Ham were AMAZING! As was the cool black and white artwork on the back wall which looks like Picasso and Escher made a baby.
I love Sam & Zoes. Its my go to place when Im in town visiting my girlfriend and we spend hours at a time there. Amiable service, quality coffee, nice food, comfy environment, and a genuine feeling of comfort when Im there. Id recommend the soy latte and peanut butter wrap!
Yall this is such a great coffee shop! The barista was so nice and friendly. I asked her which fall latte was her favorite and she said The Great Pumpkin so I decided to give it a go. I got it with oat milk (A+ for stocking oat milk btw!) And this latte was hands down so amaze! I love coffee and especially trying all kinds of hot pumpkin lattes in the fall but this was by far the best Ive had this year. Thats really saying something, I mean if you saw what I spend on coffee this time of year...Anyways! Amazing coffee, quick service, great character and a wonderful barista. Also the vibe of the actual shop is just as cool. It has a nice cozy feel with an almost a-frame cabin look to it. LOVE.Would highly recommend, wish we had one of these in my town.
