I looked several other places for a leather work bag for my husband’s birthday before stopping here. I will always shop here first! The lady who helped me was so friendly, helpful and wrapped the bag I chose so nicely! The quality, selection and prices could not be beat! I’ll definitely be back!

We went in there today and bought some luggage. After reading a couple of the reviews I almost didn’t go in thinking the owner would attack me. She couldn’t have been any nicer. This lady provides the luggage for virtually every famous Nashville musician that you have ever heard of. Her knowledge about luggage is immense and her prices are reasonable. She is extremely friendly and we were total strangers. Don’t believe some of the junk you read in these reviews. It is a great place to buy high quality luggage. Great experience.

Susan Cavender and Trunk and Bag are “Nashville National Treasures”! I’ve shopped at Trunk & Bag well over 20 years. I still have most everything I’ve ever purchased because of the high quality of merchandise sold there. Susan Cavender, the owner, knows more about luggage, small leather goods and fine pens than one could ever imagine. She is definitely a delight to know as well. My response to the few disgruntled people is that I have been there when people have tried to return merchandise that had not been purchased there; only at times like this have I ever seen or heard Susan be curt with anyone.

The owners mother refused to honor a gift certificate given to me over a year ago. She told me that they tell people who buy gift certificates that they expire after a year. I pointed out that no expiration date or expiration policy of any kind was noted anywhere on the certificate. She was rude about it, as though I should have somehow magically known about this unspecified policy. This is actually illegal...Its stealing money. If no expiration is written on the certificate, the store must honor the certificate. A birthday gift to me was apparently a $100 donation to NT&B. Happy Birthday to me...wait...to Nashville Trunk & Bag?The only reason I didnt give NT&B a 1 star rating is that they actually sell excellent products. I have purchased many Briggs & Riley bags from them over the years as well as smaller gift items. I actually brought in one of my B&R carry ons, hoping to have it sent off to be repaired. Her terse response, after filling out a return form was, You should just go to the Golden Boot and have that repaired. Shipping costs $30 to send your bag to Briggs & Riley for repair. The Golden Boot will charge you less. Im just trying top save you money. I appreciate the cost-saving advice, but was truly shocked at her unfriendly demeanor. She has always been so friendly to me in the past. The only difference with this visit was the presence of my high school daughter and her mixed race friend. Maybe she doesnt like children, even respectful ones. Perhaps its worse than that. Either way, her rudeness cost Nashville Trunk & Bag a long time repeat customer. They lost a customer today. I am so disappointed.Ashley Cantrell

I am so thankful that Susan rescued NT&B. My first purchase was in 1979 and I still use that very weathered leather briefcase. Susan has helped me with gifts and business accessories I bought for myself. Great products, Great selection and Great service. Susan is a local entrepreneur - not a franchise or a chain - and I am happy to support her fine store.

I have been a patron of Nashville Trunk and Bag for years for my own travel needs as well as gifts for others. I always find exactly what I am looking for, either on my own or with the owners assistance, and I recommend the store highly. When looking to confirm store hours I saw the comment posted by someone patronizing another establishment- not sure why she did not choose to park in front of that retailers store vs in front of Trunk and Bag and then felt compelled to complain and disparage Trunk and Bag.

I recently moved to the Green Hills area of Nashville from London. Nashville Trunk & Bag had been on my list of local stores to support the next time I needed luggage for business or leisure travel. After this mornings experience with (presumably) the owner or manager, I will not support them. I parked in front of the (closed) store at 9:20am to shop at Graces Wine, located immediately next door. I then walked over to Trader Joes. When I came back to my car at 9:45am, there was a note stating my parking spot was reserved for the store, which does not open until 10am. I approached the woman inside and highlighted that her own sign said the store was still closed. She replied that the store opens when shes there and for future reference I should not park there. She then told me that people park there for hours, which I clearly had not done, and she did not apologize or comment that perhaps she may have over-reacted. I certainly will not park there again, nor will I shop there or refer friends or colleagues. Surely local businesses struggle enough without being rude to potential customers who would like to support them.
