What is this magical place?? My first experiences with the store and the staff were simply amazing. I bought an old cello that needed some serious love, and Dave in the workshop cheerfully walked me through what it needed. Though its a busy season, he finished my project before the date expected. When I went to pick it up, he and Lindsay made sure I had everything I needed - and all at a remarkably low price. Beautiful hidden gem and kind people - Id give them more stars if I could!
When I decided to take cello lessons late in life I reached out to Nashville Violins. The staff was very friendly. I was set up for lessons and continued for seven years. The teaching was great and the flexibility they gave me to change lessons when needed was so helpful. A year and a half ago I started taking guitar lessons. The transition seemed seamless. Dave has a professional staff working in the shop and teaching the lessons. They are always ready to serve you.
We stopped in here a couple of falls ago while spending quality time in Nashville. Some say violin, while others call it a fiddle. Makes no difference to Doris as she realizes her dream of her quest to learn to play the fiddle and fill the air with the sweet songs of Blue grass. Today she took a big step forward acquiring her first instrument. Congratulations Doris and cant wait to hear you play.
Brought my grandfather’s violin in for repair. Blinded in the trenches in WWI, he couldn’t care for it as he would have wanted. Wood worn away in places, dry as a bone. And it hadn’t been played in forty years. It needed help. I’m so glad that a friend recommended Nashville Violin. The violin today is solid, with a lovely sound. And beautiful in a way I could not have hoped for. It’s the attention to detail, the conservative approach, the subtlety in cleaning, glueing, and making all of that invisible. The folks are all really nice, too.
The staff were very helpful and the customer service was top notch. I highly recommend them for anyone needing string instruments and accessories.
Always helpful. Customer service is a clear priority and they know their stuff!
It was my first time coming here. I was nervous about going to a new Luthier but I took in my Viola after not having it serviced for a while. Kevin was very sweet and walked me through the process as he looked over my instrument. He saw that my bridge was warped and it was time for a new one, and recommended I get a professional cut since my old one was, which I appreciated. He also helped me to get professional grade strings. Overall, I feel very confident leaving my instrument with them. Do come in and they will treat your instrument with the care and love it needs!
I dont normally rate shops. But.... wow. Kevin is the luthier who helped me today. Through NO FAULT OF HIS OWN, I ended up buying twice as man I y instruments as I intended. I bought 2 violins. He knew I wanted German models & he had me play every German model in the shop. He was very patient while I decided on which one I was going to buy. I ended up with a Knilling Maestro (which was unintentional but this instrument was PRECISELY setup and sounded so amazing I had to have it). Then.... the problem I had was that there was this ~120 year old German made violin that I fell in love with b/c of the amazing DEEP lows and ... how to describe the highs.... Poetic? Thats the best I can do. The highs were CRISP and clear and simply made me want to cry. You could hear the well seasoned nature of the wood.... This was my first experience with purchasing intermediate (?) level violins. All ELEVEN instruments that I played were so well setup & tuned precisely that any of them would be brilliant for a new student. They ranged in price from about $375 up to a very pretty sounding ~$1500 one.If you want an instrument that is PERFECTLY setup, go to this shop.I drove about 120 miles to get to the shop and now I have TWO beautiful instruments that are amazing. I cant stress the quality of every instrument I played & the technical skills of the staff enough.Buying a violin is an incredibly important and intimate decision. They were so kind and patient and understanding and they let me take my time to make the right purchasing decision. Ive made it home now and Ive played the instrument they gave me at home and its still amazing and beautiful.I highly recommend this shop. Sorry I fan boyed over this experience but they made this an experience that me & my family now will never forget. Im in love with my instruments.
Absolute pleasure to do business with these guys! I took my violin in for a setup, new bridge, peg fittings, etc. and since I drove 2.5 hours from out of town, they accommodated me and had all repairs done same day so I didn’t have to make another trip back. Jessica did a GREAT job on my violin. It plays and sounds amazing. I’ll certainly be making the trip to Nashville Violins anytime I need work done inthe future! Thanks for a wonderful experience! :)
I am an oddball customer with different needs. Andrew paid polite attention to my concerns and even had everything in stock to create a perfect package matched to my environment, skill level, and medical conditions, at a discount compared to other sources. Now I can learn violin, something Ive been wanting to do for 50 years. Its been a long time since I had a dream come true. Thank you, Nashville Violin.
Best Violin Shop In Nashville! Excellent Instruments and Music Lessons!I bought my first violin here and took lessons for about nine months and absolutely loved it! I had lessons from two different instructors and both were excellent!I would continued taking lessons here for many more months if I still lived in Nashville!
They have a great selection. I went to look at electric violins. Kevin was really great and patient, was eager to help and very knowledgeable. Dave also came by to say hello. Worth the long drive.
I had a great experience. Dave installed Perfection pegs on my violin and fixed my bridge problem. I’ll do business with them again.
Mr. Andrew & Ms. Buffy create a space, environment that makes learning instruments fun by combining an existing interest in music with the technical know how of the instruments with the level youre on. They are Awesome!
For my 45 birthday I was given the best $15 present in my life. A nice rented violin from Nashville Violins. Id never played an instrument before. After 5 years it continues to give me joy. Ive been to a lot of violin shops in the last 5 years but none have impressed me as much as Nashville Violins. The selection, prices and accessories are the best Ive ever seen (a lot of celebrities go there and take their kids there for lessons). You dont deal with a salesman but rather a professional violinist who fixes and can make violins. Dave is amazing. Check this place out.
Very professional and friendly staff. The negative thing I can say (which isnt saying much) is I wish they were open even on Mondays. But everyone deserves a day of rest!.We drive 2 hours just to rent / buy / drop off things for repair. This is how much we like this place.
I would really recommend Christi for violin lessons. She did an amazing job with my daughter and the staff is always helpful and understanding.
Once upon a time in a far far magical land found my violin I traveled far and I travel for a long time and there it was at the beginning of the musical Highway the end
What an incredible experience for my 4 year old and I! Out of the blue My little one has been asking about playing violin. Finally I decided to go with it but Im not musically inclined. I told her we could go ask about them and see how they feel and sound. I expected this to be very intimidating but it was not! We left with a violin and our first lesson! They took my 4 year olds interest seriously and answered her questions and showed her instruments as if any adult was asking. The lesson with Jessica was terrific and we look forward to our next!
Extremely friendly staff
Great service and quality violins and bows
Great place for music lessons!!!!
Not only kind and helpful, they are wizards at instrument repair.
