Cute store with so much to look at!! I loved looking around and the pecan pralines were awesome!
Mr. John is a great host. Great selection of items from both Louisiana and Mississippi. Great sweets and treats. Hurricane evacuees are welcome.
Don’t waste your time. The merchandise in the store is cheaply made, gimmicky tourist items that are extremely overpriced. The employees were very pushy and a bit obnoxious in my opinion. The sales lady kept insisting that I try a praline pecan even after I refused several times. She said my husband sent her to me. I later found out she lied about that. After I took a pecan so she would leave me alone, she informed me that they were made with whiskey. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and do not consume alcohol of any kind. Not everyone enjoys alcohol and she should have taken this into consideration. I was lied to and betrayed by the staff. Not very professional not to mention extremely offensive.
I could not say enough good things about this shop. I would give them 10 stars if I could. They did not give me a hassle for my service dog, I met the owner who was super nice and a young girl named Briana was working and she was very nice and friendly and accommodating too. There is a wide variety in the store everything from postcards and T-shirts to handmade pralines and fudge. There are lots of books for kids and adults, southern literature, there is so much to choose from here. I highly recommend this store is one of the best souvenir shops I’ve ever seen and definitely the best one in Mississippi.I cannot say enough good things about the store or the staff they are just full of that sweet southern hospitality that we all know and love
Absolutely a treat, the people were so nice and extremely knowledgeable of there products and the area, they sell an assortment of homemade candies and pralines. But u must try there Kellys my personal favorite the cinnamon candy appleIts is AWESOME
HIGH PRESSURE SALES. My wife & I visited Sunday 2/14/21. We found that they have a very good selection of unique items & are one of the few places open on a Sunday morning. The staff was very friendly but very high pressure sales- like theyre on commission. Some of the prices are fair, some are high. At the register, they rang it all up but didnt give us a total. When we got in the car my wife noticed you couldnt read the receipt, like the ink was almost out. The total was hand-written. We added up all our items & came up about $4 extra that we couldnt account for, even with adding 10% for tax. If you buy have a basic total figured before you pay & make sure their total matches. They never gave us a total at the register. Kinda questionable.
Situated conveniently between the visitors center and downtown on Canal Street, you don’t want to miss cute little Old South Trading Post! Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by the owner and offered free coffee and fudge samples which we accepted. There was a wide variety of items through which to browse- from whimsical to elegant. It’s a fun place to visit so go!
This is a really cool store, very small and crowded, but with great customer service. Many gifts items to choose from, lots of sweet treats and more, well worth the stop here.
A wonderful stop. Very colorful displays for the home walls and garden. The chocolate pecan caramel turtles were to die for. Lots of knick knacks and stocking stuffers.
We got some delicious Whiskey Pralines here. Well worth the stop
Nice place. Lots of cool things. The owners were a delight
I went in there and they charge me $50 over the price and it scam
Neat place for souvenir and southern foods
Great selection of southern decorations, foods, books, etc. Everyone is very helpful and sweet!
I always stop here when I visit Natchez. They carry my favorite pralines & this time they had some beautiful flags I had to buy. Love this place & the owner is always warm & friendly.☺
The place is very clean and nice. And service animals are welcome with no problem at all. They are very friendly people.
They will not call you and tell you your car is ready even tho they say they will
What a fabulous place.. something for everyone.. prices are very reasonable.. owners are awesome and so helpful.. best place we went to in two days.. will come back
What a wonderful shop. With everything you need and the most tasty treats. The staff is very kind and welcoming
Love this place. All kinds of stuff to purchase
Owner was very helpful and gave a lot of good information on the area .
Love this place! Proactive sales staff can be a little frustrating when you just want to browse, but you can never complain for the lack of help! Great selection of souvenirs. Sometimes the crackers and jelly samples are available; sometimes they are not. Nice candy selection.
Great customer service. A good general store feel. Great selections of freshly made Truffles, rum balls anything you would like.
This was my first visit here. It was very busy. The people who work there were very very nice. There is all kinds of goodies and I did purchase some delicious Mandarin pepper jelly or ham and mayhaw. Both were delicious. I also purchased some of their pralines and they were exceptionally good. It is worth the visit here. Also a sweet little old lady spoke with me as she was leaving saying how much she loves this store. Her smile made me happy. One thing I noticed that the store people will walk out with you to help you to your car. Whether I make it back or not, I cant say. I did look to see if there was any thing with Great Sun.
Loved it and good prices
Amazing! From the door you are offered coffee and pecans! I love this gift shop! Southern hospitality at its finest!
One of Natchez hidden treasure spots! A must see if you are in town. Unique items everywhere to see, take your time to browse.
Great deals on some stuff that will amaze you
Very interesting place. Lots of signs for sale on top of walls you would like.Try the pecan pralines, too die for !
Great shop. Friendly and clean. Would go back again.
Great little souvenir shop something for everyone and the southern hospitality doesnt get any better than the owner of this store.
Neat little shop. Very friendly staff.
I am heavily into yard art, and we found a number of treasures here for very reasonable prices. We will go back.
Great lil souvenir shop
Not my kind of thing. I am sure many other people would love it.
POOR STAFFING...... Hardly anyone could help me find a gift for my sister.... i asked one lady and see kept telling me no english no english...... the second lady showed me a few items and kept telling me Oh my father has this or my friend has used this ..... i really do not care...... Then to top it off the young girl they have Team Leader is friendly and nice but she is way too young to try to manage a store with PAYING customers.... all i wanted was a nice gift for my sister.
Over rated over price.
UPDATED: The selection of jams are fabulous and the other offerings can be interesting and some are even really unique. However, be cautious joining their mailing list if you only check you mail on your cell phone. They only send a jpg of a text dense image that is hard to read on a small screen. I had an issue with being unable to unsubscribe, but they appear to have fixed that so I am editing this to reflect that they were ultimately responsive.
Stopped on the way back to Texas from a week in Gulfport.I love this place !!So many new things now from last visit. They were having a jelly tasting when we got there so I had to have the bourbon blueberry it is amazing. Also the chocolates are to die for.My husband and I went years ago and bought a aluminum can airplane that my grandkids fight over.Thank goodness they had another. I got the last one he had.Just a lot of quirky things you won’t find anywhere else.Definitely worth the trip.LORIFred Texas
Nice tourist gift and junk shop. Worth a quick stop, but hold on to your pocketbook. We bought a big box of pralines, but they didnt last long.
This is an amazing place to shop always happy to go never a disappointment make this a stop if you go to natchez
Awesome. Best place on the Natchez Trace for souvenirs. The staff is terrific!
I love shopping here. Friendly staff and full of really awesome, unique items.
One of my fav places to shop, lots of devotional books and more.
I came in on Tuesday looking for a nice cute quirky thing for my husband ..... well little did I know that I was going to get over talked by the girl with the glasses and followed by a little old lady ..... all I wanted was a gift and instead of helping me they just ran their mouth or stared at but I came back yesterday because I really wanted a gift and a cute little sales girl came up to me and was so inviting and do wonderful...
Definitely going back. Great staff. Likeable and very personable. Enjoyed every moment were there.
Nice quiet little quaint place that sell a whole bunch of food items. Such as jellies, pickles, and plenty more!
A must see
Oh my, what a great store. Old time music and gadgets galore!
Currently the rating is 2.9. I would not recommend this place at all. Got chocolates from behind the counter. As the girl was getting the chocolates she was getting them without gloves then one fell on the floor and they still gave it to me. It was less than a second on the floor however, thank goodness I looked at it before I left because there was hair (or carpet, I just know that it was not supposed to be there) on it. Then as I was leaving I was being followed out the store...to make sure I do not steal anything sadly the person who followed me was a young African American female as well (the only one there). Please do not come here...like who still follows people out the store. I said to myself I was going to come back and get a shirt before I even paid for my purchase Im glad I didnt get everything at once. Apparently this is not the place to be since it has bad ratings. In response to the owners comment: Your lead gave the ok on still choosing to serve me those dropped chocolates. (WHY DID I HAVE TO ASK FOR ANOTHER ONE?) If they never did I surely would not have given a bad review even if you did follow me out the store. Furthermore, if accidentally knocking something over without breaking it and putting it back in its proper place is what you call causing a scene I will gladly return and knock some more of your stuff down and show you what a real scene is! Give you some real work to do in that overpacked cramped store!
Why is it over half of the reviews on here are about the same person and managment has done nothing about it?The lady cashed me out and over charged me $40 dollars..... I bought 1 20 dollar spinner and a jar of jelly... thats 28 dollars i got charged on my charge card $68.48.Besides all of that I just wanted yo look the little old lady didnt even give me space to breathe... taste this ... look at this ... did you know this... my son does that.....I would have spent more.
Loved our visit last year, but was disappointed this year that most things were the same. I came to get my grandchildren a Natchez t-shirt and they only had the one I had purchased for them the year before.
Great place, friendly people. Highly recommend.
Nice old store. A bit of anything. All tastes will find someting
Fun and fanciful place! Dont miss it
A must stop! Interesting...
I was lost and trying to find directions and the little lady told me in this store no English no english and had to get another lady to help me she gave me clear directions but please keep people who can not speak English keep in the back because it makes yall look dumb... . NO ENGLISH IS UNACCEPTABLE.
Its a must that I go there when Im home in Natchez,Ms. Awesome store!!! I reccomend the alligator jerky, its great!
Small but good selection of gift ideas.
Fun, kitchy(sic)
A little bit of everything with a gracious and hospitality staff.
I was in the store and the little girl was on the the side with the jelly and all I asked was where we they made and she went all defensively and I got pissed and left.... like who get defensive to top it off my husband came back latter that day she was telling him a whole bunch of mumbo jumbo about they been doing jelly for 15 years and come off the same line as Tabasco yatta yatta yatta..... IF YOU ARE READING THIS GET A LIFE NO ONE CARES!
My only complaint was that the older gentleman working used his bare hands to box up our chocolates rather than put on gloves or use something to pick them up with. I think that is a bit inappropriate in a candy store!
There was a lady therre who could not speak English good and there was a little girl named breanna on her badge who was very nice and hospitable but the one could not speak English she was telling us about t-shirts and she politely turned to her and told her to wait and she came back 8 more times afterwards and she was trying to help us find shirts for our children and then she politely turned to us and said excuse me Ill be right back and I couldnt believe that that lady was so rude so I left but I came back on Saturday and breanna was there again and she gave us another nice very friendly tour of the store but when we came to candy another little girl was there and she tried to pressure me into buying stuff I just did not want so at the end of the day only one person was there to help
Great place for real southern shirts and condiments.
Love this little shoppe! Great prices and very personable owner!!
This place is so cute!!! So much adorable stuff!!!
We were expecting a larger shop with more variety.
Proprietor was a great guy, friendly and helpful.
THEY HAVE PEOPLE FOLLOW ...... HE SENT A LADY WHO BARELY SPEAKS ENGLISH TO FOLLOW ME AROUND THE STORE LIKE I WAS GOING TO STEAL.PLEASE GET A LIFE.
