They were the only shop to have what I wanted (I drove from NH), and the selection was great. Pricing was fair; however, on the phone/ in person they really dont have the strongest people skills and would have lost the sale if I was in any mood other than absolutely want the product and dont care about anything else. I WOULD NOT want to have to resolve any issue with them though as I would assume youd have to go legal for a gold fish return.

Love taking my dog here to get treats! Pet World has a huge selection of natural freeze dried and dehydrated dog treats. My dog loves coming here to pick up new treats and the staff is always helpful.

We love this place. The dog gets to pick her treat for the visit every time we go to get more pet food. We also adopted out cat from here and it was a lovely experience.

They have items for my birds that I cant purchase at the national chain stores in the area. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I called this morning about a cat we saw and were interested in. The lady from Kitty City came on the phone rude from the get go. When I told her I was looking for information about the cat we saw in the window the night before she defensly asked what do you want to know? Then wouldn’t give any detail unless I asked a question. Basically I felt like she was trying to discourage our interest. Telling me the cat wasn’t friendly, didn’t get a long with other cats. She was so unhelpful and rude. I feel sorry for anyone wanting to adopt a cat from her.

I was so surprised at the amount of pet supplies that had. Most pet stores just have basic items, but this place was so much more! Definitely will be going here for my let supplies from now on

Excellent place for pet supplies and to adopt a pet. My mother adopted a cat and--if anything--they undersold her personality. Shes the sweetest, most affable little cat and my mom is in love. Id give five stars, but I wanted to get a cat tree as a pet-warming gift and the only ones in stock were custom-made beautiful but very very expensive (I ended up ordering a scratching post and a tree from chewy). Pet world also has a great variety of food one can buy individually.

Amazing supply store for all pets! One of the best tortoise supply selections I’ve seen east of Worcester. Purchaser even took time to go over some items I was looking for to see if they could special order. Will definitely go back!

I got a rabbit a few months ago and went to this pet store for help since big pet stores didn’t carry much of a selection for a rabbit or the food and bedding was not good. The staff was so helpful. I felt more comfortable at the store and asking questions. I only ever shop here for my pet needs :)

This is the BEST pet store in the area —Hands Down. Awesome little family-owned “mom & pop shop,” with Way healthier and higher quality products than any big box store. Super knowledgable staff, most of whom have worked there for decades! There is a cat shelter inside with a big awesome enclosure for them to live in while waiting for a home. (**If you’re looking for a safe place to shop during the pandemic, these folks take things seriously and have been totally on the ball with safety measures and sanitation!) Support this local small business!! Donate to the cat shelter! Feed your pet better food so they feel better and live longer! I’m just so thankful this shop has been around this long and will continue to support it as long as I live here. Pet World is a Gem! :)

Excellent customer service. The man who worked there guided me to purchasing the best kitty litter box and other supplies for my cat. Such nice people, with a cat adoption space inside. I love supporting this business rather than going to the larger chain stores.

The cat lady was very very rude and she did not make any sense. she could “sense” the cats did not like us because we “were too young” when she saw us and saw our age before she let us go in and play with the cats. the cats were purring with my sister and i but you know the lady didn’t think they liked us whatever i give this place a one star because the woman was very rude and i DO NOT recommend going to pet world if you want a kitten or cat

I went in to see if they had any bunnies. I looked in the small pet area and saw something in the little house. I went to the girl at the register who clearly seems incompetent. Big mistake. She said she didnt think they had any. I dont know why I asked. She looked lost. So I asked if I could see an animal. She asked if it was in the small animals I said yes. She called a lady over. I asked the lady that was called over if there were any bunnies in there. She said to me Theres nothing in there (her arms were crossed by the way) she looked like I had bothered her. Its as if I took her away from something important or interrupted her while she was using the bathroom. She was just standing behind an area of the store when I walked by her four times. She then proceeded to tell me that it wasnt available. I explained to her that there was no sign on the glass saying it wasnt. (I saw other animals that had those signs) she said to me well theres not even a price. Maybe it just came in today. (She was rude the entire time) So I then asked her if I could see a hamster. She seemed to be very hot and bothered. She lifted the little house up and then I said Okay thank you she then mumbled something and I stopped and turned around and said excuse me? She said I was talking to the hamster. I was telling it it could go back to sleep(I apologize for disturbing the hamster from its sleep) I wouldnt recommend this place. Very unprofessional. I worked 13 yrs in retail and not once did I ever treat a customer like that. It was a bigger retail store and I interacted with customers all the time. She just seemed so miserable at her job. This is the third time theyve done this. I wouldnt rate the place a 1 star but its the lowest I can give. The 1 star will go to all there covid signs plastered on the windows. Great job for taking precautions. Mayos Pets in northboro is a great place and exceptional customer service.

This was for the fish room on Saturday just not feeling all the deaths in the tanks along with that white dots on fish!I love Blue the parrot, as well as the cats that live there!!! Always have to say hi to Blue!

These people are very rude. My husband and I traveled nearly an hour just to be told one person per vehicle at a time three person in the store at a time. However they were No other customers inside or outside . Spend your money where you are appreciated. There is a pet shop right down the street tropical isle. We will not be going back.

This was my first time stopping by here. I am thinking of adopting a dog and I saw a sign that says adoption day for dogs. It turned out to be that they have this event twice a month mainly on Saturdays.I had a great time checking out the lizards and cute cats here. Also there are many cute customers there (fluffy cute animals) that I enjoyed interacting with. This place is very large and have many products that you can ever imagine.

Prices are a little high but they have an amazing selection. Would recommend!

Good overall store good selection of fish and small animals even for it being a compact area. stores packed top to bottom with supplies can come off a little chlostrophobic but if you cant find what your looking for no doubt the staff will be able to directly to what your looking for. its entertaining seeing the cats for adoption in the window playscape.

So many choices to choose from in there! My bunny LOVES everything from there! Although, with my honest results there is a few employees that do need to be nicer to customers. I think the setup would be better with maybe a little more neatness but overall it’s a beautiful business.

I love that I can find products at this store that are not in your local chain pet store. However, I am a bit disappointed by their hamster knowledge. While the store sells a variety of cages that are acceptable for hamsters and reach the bare minimum requirements of 450 sq in of unbroken floorspace, they dont actually recommend this for their hamsters. They sell starter kits which are 10 gallon aquariums (200 sq in), a wheel, some cotton fluff and a package of hamster food thats actually not the best option for them. I was really excited to go inside and see that they take great care of all the other animals they sell, but the hamsters are clearly not researched or provided a decent home while at the petstore. They have paper pellets, not actual bedding, and cotton fluff which is incredibly dangerous for hamsters as it can get wrapped around their limbs and instestines and cause serious medical problems. Theres no way for them to do any of their natural behaviors like forraging and burrowing, the only decent thing they do is provide an 8 inch wheel in the display. They are a bit pricey, but for many of the items they have, the only other place to find them is online. Youre paying for the instant gratification of having your item asap, which is perfectly reasonable, but their bedding is really marked up and since you can get the same bedding at any other petstore, thats kind of the most unreasonable priced item for small pets that they sell. All in all, I like this place for the variety of items they sell that other stores dont, but the poor care that they perpetuate for hamsters has really put me off.

Beautiful pet shop. Visit Jeffrey the cat or blue the parrot. Jeffrey needs a new home and he is a sweet sweet boy. I told him I would visit him once a week at least until he finds his company. Ill add a picture when I see him again.

We bought parakeets from this place in June. Natali was the employee who helped us so much, she is amazing. She really cares about the birds, spent so much time answering our questions and helping us to choose the cage, toys, food and even helped my kids and me to install everything and to carry the birds to the car. The best possible experience, great choice of both pets and toys for them. And the most important is that they really love their pets, its priceless. We are new bird owners and we are so happy that we made this choice. We love our birds!Thanks, Pet World!!

This is a lovely little store. You can buy fish, some small reptiles and adopt a rescue kitty or two. They have a wonderful selection of pet foods, treats and supplies. I buy all my cat food here. The staff is very helpful. Sometimes, I go in just to visit with the kitties!

Great pet store, from the outside it doesnt look like much but its whats on the inside that counts. Mainly focused on cats and dogs but has all the usual household pets and supplies. Hosted inside is also a cat adoption. So many different types of cat and dog food it can be a little overwhelming but great to have choices. Some items tend to be a little higher price than the big box pet stores but worth it to me.

My daughter loves going to pet world, thats where we got her hedgehog waffles.. the folks that work there are great..

I have never had a bad experience here. They always have the products I need, or they have been honest about where I can find the products. (Ive done a few special orders through them.) The aisles are a bit small, but the selection is amazing. The prices are on par with prices Ive paid at other small business pet retail stores.They were even really nice when I got out of work really late one night and came in 3 minutes before closing . I knew exactly what I wanted, so that probably helped, but I greatly appreciated the compassion they had for that last-minute necessary trip for supplies.

Pet world is by far the best pet store I have been in, in years. The staff is very kind and welcoming and always on top of making sure you find everything you want and need. I adopted my cat Bear here last week and if looking for a cat or kitten I suggest you come here first ! The woman who let me adopt my cat is very professional and extremely sweet.

Discount? No. Everything is extremely pricy and there is no staff around to ask questions if youre looking for something specific. Cute items, but the prices are way higher than any of the box pet stores. Im all for supporting local businesses, but everyone has a dollar limit and paying 50% more for an item I can get at Petco down the street doesnt make sense to any budgeted consumer.

They have a good selection (especially for small animals) and I wanted to support a smaller, local pet store, but some of the staff can be extremely condescending, especially management. Theyre helpful if you ask questions, but they will NOT trust that youve done your own research or know whats best for your own animals. I had a bad experience a few years ago and though I have returned since Im immediately reminded of that bad taste. The guy I had problems with is still there. Its like they wanted to offer something less corrupt than chain pet stores and swung too far in the other direction.
