I love Music Go Round. I’ve traded many instruments and I’ve had the opportunity to get great gear here. The staff is very helpful and nice. I also love the fact that they accept partscasters. There’s NOWHERE ELSE where you’d be able to sell your creations. Recently, though, I traded a couple of guitars and some other stuff for (seemingly) an absolutely amazing Fender HSS stratocaster. I had to pay a small difference for it, but it was worth it. After playing it for hours, there was something “peculiar” about it. I decided to take a look at the serial number and I found out that the neck is from a Fender Player Plus (guitars that were recently released). I discovered that this particular guitar is a custom build or a partscaster. It didn’t have locking tuners or steel saddles, like the Player Plus, and many other specs of that series. Not to mention the finish. It is an amazing instrument, don’t get me wrong, but I do feel that the price was a bit high for a partscaster and that it should have been listed as such. Although it was a fortunate find, it was a bit disappointing. I will keep coming here because there are more pros than cons, but this is this something to think about next time someone brings and instrument of this nature.
Great staff and a lot of fun for players of all levels. Vic and team are always great to deal with. Been a customer for several years. Just bought a guitar that was fairly priced and was also able to trade in some old, unused gear that I know will go to a good home. They get gear in constantly so there is always something cool. My only regrets were not buying the used bagpipes, a vintageFender tweed, a vintage Fender Silverface and not having room in my life for a big Marshall stack in mint condition!! Here were a few photos of other items I was considering. My favorite thing is seeing customers of all ages and skill levels and all are greeted respectfully and warmly. I noticed the repairs and setup department was doing a really brisk repeat business so they must be doing a great job.
As a first time guitar player it can be daunting to decide on a first nice guitar. My starter guitar was showing its limitations and I wasnt ready to go full on with a brand new one. The team at Music Go Round in Natick were great. It took me several visits there to begin to figure out what I liked and they were patient, informative and helpful in every way. Jeff, JEFF & Vic were all great and Im really enjoying my Eastman AC122-1CE. We even lucked out and picked up a tenor sax in great condition for my son. I highly recommend this store whether you are a first timer or a pro looking for an attractively priced upgrade!
I have generally had a good experience buying gear from this store, the sales people were friendly and helpful. However I cannot the day the same for gear service. About a month and a half ago I dropped my guitar to have some small electrical work done, and it was completed in a fairly timely manner. After this, though, I was told by the repairman that I should setup my guitar and some maintenance done on the neck and was told it would take around two to three weeks. I waited for about a month with no response and finally called asking for a follow up, which was not given until I called a second time. I was then told that my guitar had simply been sitting in the store for the since mid June with only the electrical work having been done. Needless to say I picked up the guitar and will not be going back for service anytime soon.
Gave me a good price on my Blackstar amp trade in. Helped me find a used Marshall I really like.
Music Go Round Boston located in Natick, Mass. provided excellent customer and service to me. Dave and his staff at this location got it right. Music is the international language and this store is the place to purchase or start your musical career. They have been fair and provided options for purchase for me using Paypal. They work for you not against you. They are accountable and have integrity with each customer. I recommend the highly. You will not be disappointed. Tell them Stu sent you. Best of luck to all. Music as a great hobby and fun too.
My friend and I have wanted new classical guitars in our lives for a while now. Music Go Round was recommended by a co-worker, was our first stop, and we didnt know if we were going to leave with anything. We were greeted with superb customer service. Vic answered a bunch of questions, chatted and brought us guitars he thought we would like. We left with two guitars, two hang drums and two flute whistles haha. Overall great experience. Very knowledgable and enjoyable staff and a large variety of unique instruments like bass uke. Would go back! Thanks :)
I am so pleased with my experience at music go around! I’d much rather spend my money here then a big box store. I got a super cute mini bass that I plan on using on the road. Mark was so helpful and very engaging. He was patient with me and my partner who had a million random questions. Not at all pushy sales people, just super friendly cool vibes.
Fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable staff. Great inventory from boutique to rare and vintage and classic gear. Their repair guy is clutch and very helpful and spends time with you to make sure you are satisfied. Glad we have a real music store here in the metrowest. Keep up the good work, I will always be a loyal customer.
Always fun visiting this store. Never know what gems can be found. The people are always helpful and friendly. Lucky its so close to home!
Stopped by to just casually check out guitar s. Jeff helped me and he could not have been nicer. Great assortment, outstanding customer service. When I do buy a guitar, this place is my first stop.
Great online buying experince .. Item was in wonderful condition and priced right. Shipping was fast and professionaly packaged..I look forward to doing buisness again..Perfect from start to finish..Thanks so much!
This is one of the greatest stores of all time. Jeff is always a pleasure to work with. Dave has great drum and professional touring knowledge. Vic makes it feel like a real music store. Aedan is a genius for such a young man. Always a great time. Buy from here.
Easily one of my favorite places to shop any time I’m looking for anything music-related. Recently got a great deal here on a Charvel body for a project, and had it shipped out to the shop very quickly and totally hassle-free. Jeff H. Is the man - super helpful and accommodating!
Im a fan of this place. The staff are quite nice, and more than happy to help set you up to try out anything. The store seems to have a more loyal customer base than most of the... Big guitar stores in the area, and the used stuff (that majority of the store) tends to be much more interesting. I take my business here when I can. That said, being primarily used, they dont tend to have the newest toys - sometimes it feels like the guitar shops from the 90s when I was learning to play - but I like that kind of thing. Prices are always reasonable, and they pay reasonable guitar-shop rates (less than a private sale would get you, but with less hassle) for trade-ins. Slow down when approaching it so you dont miss the entrance.
I always go see Jeff. He is the best. He knows everything about the store and can answer any questions regarding music or instruments. Great service, would 10/10 recommend coming here, and ask for Jeff.
Nice neighborhood support and good instruments
I always have a good experience at MGR.
I was going off everyone else’s reviews and decided to use Dan. I was allowed to sit in his work shop while he did my setup. He didn’t mind my questions and I learned a lot. Guitar now plays great after neck adjustment and he did some filling on the nut to get rid of an awful buzz. Definitely will be going back to him to replace the nut with a bone one when the time comes
Very good serviceseemed to know what they were talking about gave me a pick a wire and an amp and helped me get a guitar down
Great experiences so far, I tend to go there more and more. I was selling a piece of equipment and their offer was very reasonable. Guitar Center wouldnt even take a look at it. Bought a quality used pedal once too. Staff is friendly and helpful, cool place to check out.
My studio and the bands on my label have all had incredibly great experiences at this place. It is our go-to place when we need new gear, new tools, or just some friendly advice from the sweet, smiling faces that work there, like Jeff H. who is such a lovely young man.
Love working with Jeff. He always get’s what we need. Great guy and very handsome. Go talk to him for sure.
Always love it here awesome staff top notch establishment
Couldnt have been happier with my experiences at Music Go Round off Rt 9. Each associate I worked with was very knowledgeable and not only helped me pick my next guitar but gave me great advice on advancing my skills. Solid selection of quality used equipment for all levels and price ranges. I highly recommend them and have made them my go-to music store.PS I went with the Alvarez, Vic
GREAT BUYING EXPERIENCE!! I recently purchased a drum set and DAVE really was a great help getting me thru the purchase process and shipping details..BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE GUYS IN SHIPPING FOR THE GREAT WRAPPING JOB!!👍👍..awsum purchase..thanx guys!!....mike in N.C.
Great place. Awesome environment. And as always, service from Jeff makes the whe place that much more GLORIOUS!
This is outstanding business all sorts of help nice clean store great selection the guys that work there are very few would highly recommend this business
I love this place, I bought my first bass here and have a fantastic time buying through Jeff H
Great staff, very friendly. Will let you try before you buy. Great prices. Purchased many guitars, a bass amp, and guitar amp at the natick location. Two guitars from the WI store that arrived quickly and in near perfect condition. Also buy my strings here.
Great people,always cool gear
I have not yet received my product, so I may have to change my review once I do, but I highly doubt it. I live in Alaska, nowhere near Boston, so my interaction with this store was all online.I was looking to purchase an Eastwood Airline Mandola, but they are on back order on the manufacturers website. I decided to see if I could find one used, and sure enough, Vic had one in his shop. It was $100 off the manufacturers price, and for its apparent condition and how cheap the instrument is to begin with, that is a fantastic deal.I reached out to the store via email and Facebook to get some questions answered before making my purchase. Living in Alaska, standard shipping rates do not apply, so I knew I would have to work out shipping directly with the owner of the store. Vic was incredibly helpful and patient with me, willing to answer any questions that I had even though I had not yet made the order. It could have ended up being a complete waste of time for him, but he was extremely detailed when addressing all of my concerns. This was also during a time where the store was closed to the public, and he was handling all the online orders himself, so the fact that he took time out of his day for me is even more admirable. He quoted me at 75 dollars for shipping. This surprised me, because the manufacturer ships out of Chicago, and they charge $162 dollars to ship. Once I placed the order, he informed me that if the shipping cost was above his quote, he would pay the difference himself. I have not had an experience this good with a music retailer outside of my local shop, and especially online interactions are usually much worse. I was super impressed, especially because he wasnt exactly making a huge profit off my order. The only thing that would make me change my review is if the product showed up in considerable worse condition than advertised, and it was obvious that the damage didnt happen in transit. Of course, even in that situation, I would only change the review if I had issues with the return process, which I do not anticipate happening.I would also like to point out that they were literally the only people in the world who were selling the model of instrument I was looking for, new or used. Thats more luck than anything, but if I wanted to purchase it now and not later, I was going to have to deal with this store one way or another. I am super glad I had a positive experience, because it very easily could have been a negative one, if not for the fact that the people here really do care.*Update*: my product showed up in perfect condition, lovingly packed for its long journey. I had follow up questions about tuning it when I first opened up, and received a very prompt and helpful response. If I lived in the Boston area, this would be my music shop of choice for sure, cannot recommend them highly enough.
Great store! Very good experience in looking for a guitar with a wide variety of options. Will definitely go back.
AWESOME STORE! Employees are great! Cool selection! Wish we lived closer! We stop every time we’re in the area. Great place for guitar, used gear, and other instruments!
We recently moved to MA from NYC, were looking for a good, local music source, and now live super close to this gem. The kiddo is doing bass lessons at a great rate and on lesson days I get to raid my wifes pocketbook so I can take advantage of the pedal deals. No snobbery, no making anyone feel like they dont belong, and the staff always seems happy to help, demo, or let you try out whatever you fancy. This is exactly how a music shop should be.
My wife and I went to Music Go Round today to pick out a guitar and amp for our 13 year-old.James walked us through many combinations, and we ended up with an awesome-sounding electric guitar and amp within our budget. James was happy to demo the gear extensively for us, running through the different settings and effects. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, and I have no doubt we will be going back to the store in the future.
Felt a bit understaffed but the employees were very helpful and the selection was properly varied
A great store w tons of great gear, knowledgeable staff, that will do what ever they can to help you out !!!!
I ordered 2 Event 20 20P studio monitor speakers last Friday and they arrived Saturday the next day, packed incredibly well and as advertised in very good condition. Had also called and spoke to them one or two times before my order and they were friendly and helpful. Good communication, good deal, fast shipping, what more can you say. Thanks guys!!!
Great place to buy musical instruments for an affordable price. They have a wide range of products from less range to medium and high for most of their products. Bought a guitar from here a while back for my daughter. Thanks guys.P. S. Ive uploaded the picture of the guitar as well.
Music Go Round is my favorite place for musical equipment. The staff are friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Theres great selection of instruments and equipment to fit any budget. Its a great place to see whats out there, including many unique and vintage instruments, all priced competitively. One of the best things is that you can turn your old, less frequently used gear and either get cash, or better, generous trade-in towards their in-stock items. Always my first stop, even before going online, if I want trade in, upgrade or add some additional guitars, pedals, amps, supplies or anything else they carry.
I cant think of a better place to go for all of my guitar needs. Buying used just makes so much sense and the staff there are smart and helpful. I know a fair amount about guitars and have never been steered wrong. Keep up the good work, Phil, Vic, Dave and the rest of you guys!
I cant seem to go into this store and come out empty handed. Lots of great gear at great prices (both new and used). I also sold some equipment and got a very fair price for the lot. Came out with another new guitar in the process...
Great place to try and buy! They will take used gear, even if its not perfect. I got a fair trade price for a few old guitars and amp and walked out with a much nicer guitar and amp. Great deal, very friendly and helpful!
I like Music Go Round. Its a great place to browse. Its a great place to buy. I have a Telecaster that I got there that I really like. Its also been a great place to go, just before a gig, to get the cables and other stuff you really need at a good price.
Ive had consistently positive experiences here, and Vick is a true gentleman and standup guy that understands the long forgotten ways of conducting a local business. This location offers a welcome alternative to the big box music store, both in terms of their varied inventory and knowledgeable employees. Remember that feeling of walking into a music store and being excited and surprised by what you found? It still exists! Worth a regular visit, to be sure!
I think that every musician in the city has visited this store at least once. Professional staff and tools of different segments. I like this place.
I used to come to this location years ago when it was the Entemanns Bakery. Smelled of delicious baked goods.Last Fall I bought a used 00-14 Martin Custom Shop guitar here for a tad more than the cost of a box of Danishes, but it is an exquisite instrument and the price was quite fair. The staff was friendly and low key, making the transaction smooth and genial. Im a satisfied customer. And the place smells great. The woody smell of guitars.
Great place!!! My husband did a delivery for them, and also went in to look around we got a great deal on a starter guitar for our kids.
Awesome! Got some SUPER good deals on really nice quality unusual stuff. Friendly staff super helpful if you ask for help but not at all annoying and hovering like at many other places. They let you do your thing. All the guitars and basses were set up nicely too!
I love this store. Its an easy way to recycle un-needed/unwanted musical gear and try new (to me) stuff without it hurting the wallet too much. You dont get as much money for your used stuff as you would if you sold it yourself but it is definitely a lot easier to trade it in! Ive bought a bunch of amps and guitars there and am very happy with the purchases.
Ive had great luck here and have been going back for a couple of years now. I have bought used drum equipment, used mic stands, capos and lots of other stuff here. Nice to be able to get used equipment a lot cheaper than new. I also had a clarinet repaired and they did a great job.
Was ready to purchase a gift for Christmas and asked about return policy if they didnt like it. Was told the policy was 7 days only! Were 2 weeks from Christmas and all I had was 7 days!! Who does that? So I left and purchased from Sweetwater. It is really the principle of the thing, 7 days only!
The people from music-go-round are the best and especially the Natick store where I have bought a few instruments. T hey really know their stuff and they are so courteous to work with. Some of my great finds came from the Natick store. Check them out wont you...Chris
Great place. Been shopping here for a while now. These guys are great.
Brought some used gear in to make a few bucks. I got a lot more money than I expected. Great place, five stars for Music Go Round.
Friendly staff, competitive prices, all around a great experience. I recommend music go round to everyone who is into music. My preferred place to buy gear!!
My experiences with Music Go Round have been exceptionally good-- both used items, but they came to me looking and playing like new at what I considered very fair pricing. Give them a try-- Im sure youll be satisfied.
Great folks. Peruse often and find a deal. They have lots to choose from in the middle end of things so you can find some decent deals. Occasionally you will find a gem of an instrument so visit often.
Great store, great staff, got a nice used Epiphone Les Paul with a cool Greeny mod a few months ago, and have found some great deals on pedals, always hit this spot before GC for strings, cables, etc. If I had one complaint, some of the guitars have bad setups and old strings from the previous owner, makes it a little tough to purchase even if I liked the guitar, but of course thats the reason you get great deals, and theres a lot of good guitars there that sound great.
Scored a great amp at a fair price. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Ill definitely shop there again.
One of my favorite music stores.
I have found quality pre-owned drum equipment here. Highly recommend before dealing with ebay.My only beef, they need to be more descriptive in the equipment for sale, For example. I shop for quality cymbals, finding many here. However, the description usually consist of 2 pictures and less than 10 words to describe condition. On more than one occasion I would have to call the store selling the item or send an email to ask weight (which is important), any defects that pictures do not reveal such as chips, dents, keyhole etc. All important to know when buying used cymbals.
This store is awesome! One of my daughters violin strings broke on Sunday night...had a school concert the next morning. I called them up and they stayed past store closing time to accommodate us. Staff there were all super helpful, exceptionaly knowledgable, and incredibily nice! The store has a wonderful selection of instruments as well. Will definitely be back....
Music Go Round is fortunate to have luthier Dan Armstrong as their on site guitar tech.He is on of the best around and is Taylor certified .Dan listens to the players needs and proceeds accordingly. As a professional performer, I have used Dan for years for all my set ups.
Made a purchase online. Very fast shipping, & the product (Korg TR Rack) arrived in great shape, & was the lowest price I found online. I hope to find more great deals from this store in the future.
The store and staff are awesome!! Always super friendly and knowledgeable. And always cool stuff there.
Rise of The Machine is my Project but Im known as Mark to the guys at Music Go Round in Natick, MA...And I have to say I have been involved in numerous transactions, both buying and selling, including basses, synthesizers, effects, cabs and misc. pro audio. I cannot speak highly enough about their integrity, fairness and honesty. They do their best to test all incoming gear and the level of quality on my acquisitions has always been very good. The staff is first-class and Phil is a fantastic owner. I thoroughly enjoy dealing with them and spending a few spare minutes in my favorite toy store. I also consider their in-house tech Dan my go-to guy and I trust him to do flawless work on my two vintage Ibanez basses. Five Stars!
Ive had multiple experience with the folks at Musicgoround... they are friendly, give great deals on trades or sales, helpful, knowledgeable, and just all around awesome... cant go wrong with these guys!
Music Go Round is a gem when it comes to finding the unusual for musical instruments and live audio equipment. I have purchased and traded items with them numerous times and appreciate the efforts the sales people make to create a pleasant buying experience.
TLDR; DONT WASTE YOUR TIMEHonestly, I really want to like this place. Its homey, they have great gear, a theoretically fantastic business model. Perhaps if their service and diligence matched it would have 5 stars. I have two terrible experiences here, both buying and selling gear. The first time, I bought a bass to refurbish and improve. This transaction ended up having an incomplete bass (due to the fact that they hire an independent contractor without consent of the customer) and a faulty saxophone. The second time, I pulled up with a hatchback full to the brim with drums, only to be offered $50 for 3 kits worth of drums. I ended up going to guitar center and receiving $500 for my products.
Dan did an excellent job setting up my Taylor 912ce 2015 acoustic guitar. He is a gold certified guitar technician by Taylor and I wouldnt trust anyone else with my acoustic guitar. A+
Excellent experience! Excellent customer service. Will definitely do business with them again!
Made a good trade. They always seem to have some interesting guitars around.
I needed a pickup for my Dean acoustic and was told by another shop that it couldnt be done. Music Go Round was able to find and install a new and improved Fishman acoustic pickup. The work that M.G.R.s guitar tech Dan did was fantastic. In addition, he made some adjustments on the fingerboard and the saddle. I have had this instrument for 14 years and it has never sounded better. Thanks so much Phil, Dan and all the folks at Music Go Round
This store is awesome. I have played for a long time and usually the guys at music stores are snobbish and condescending. These guys are friendly and helpful. The store has lots of used equipment on the cheap so I like to try different stuff that I am not sure about.
Very friendly and helpful. Decent selection of lefties for such a small store.
I dont give low ratings lightly but this is deserved. I am always looking for obscure used drum parts and both call and buy from Musicgorounds from all over the country and by and large it is a positive experience where good deals are made. This was the first time I called a Musicgoround in New England and they could not have been any ruder. There is no need for it and it left a bad taste.
The best and friendliest, as well as, most knowledgeable music store it will ever be your pleasure to find! Great gear and great people!
Great staff, nice selection!
Great store with an ever-changing selection of items and a highly-knowledgeable staff. Recommended!
Professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I recommend Music Go Round. I had work done by their luthier guitar-tech, Dan, and was most impressed.
Warning!!! NEVER take your instrument there to be repaired. The sales employees were fine. However, my wife and I brought a banjo in for repair three months ago. We spoke with Dan and he told us it might take some time for the repair because the parts needed to be ordered. We said that was fine. After about 2 months my wife and I left messages to get the status of the repair and there was no return call. I walked in and spoke to a helpful sales clerk and was told that he was out...but that he would tell him I came in. He encouraged me to call him in the AM and get an update. I stopped by 2 more times and was told the same thing. I finally stopped by yesterday and Dan was there. He came out and started to explain why there was a delay and I interrupted him said I just wanted the instrument back and wanted to take it to a place that would actually repair it. He said if I could wait an hour he would have it repaired. I said: what? Ok...Ill wait. He asked me if I would stay or leave and come back later and I said I would wait. He went back and chewed me out for accusing him of not doing his job and that he had no control of the workflow. He asked me if I still wanted the work done and I said: no, please give it back to me. He walked back into the repair shop and while he was gone the sales staff were very apologetic and said they were sorry. I said it was ok and Dan brought the instrument back and gave it to me. I am going to tell everyone I know in the music community in Newton, Natick and Weston NOT to take their instruments to Music Go Round for repair.
Purchased an ibanez 540R guitar, packaged well, shipped promptly, instrument exactly as described. Wish we had a Music Go Round here in phoenix, great place to shop for gear
Friendly, helpful staff and prices within reason. Fair deals on items brought in to sell. Always a good experience.
Sold them an instrument for a fair price. I have purchased a number of items and am pleased with their service
It was a smooth and stress-free transaction, as I was online customer. The wah I have received was in very clean, sound working condition (for a $30 original Dunlop!...), and it was a seriously good deal that exceeded my expectations. Thanks!
This place is great nice selection and great people. Phil, Vic and Crew will certainly be able to help you with anything musical!!
Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Fun place to explore. No haggling though, which is a bummer.
Great Service and a knowledgeable staff that gave me a fair deal for a trade in and with their varied selection I was able to get the beautiful guitar and case that I wanted. Only downside for me is the location since I live in Boston
Knowledgeable and helpful staff. I am an out of state customer and they have worked with me to get orders out and properly packed! Thanks.
I found a nice guitar (Jackson SLSMG) at their store on the MusicGoRound website . It was listed as having mods, so I called the store with questions. They were very helpful, and answered my questions honestly. The mods turned out to be Gotoh locking tuners and Seymour Duncan blackouts! I bought the guitar and I about crapped when it showed up in mint condition and in a hard case! GOTTA LOVE IT!!
I visited here in fall 2013, for neck setup of my taylor 314. I was expecting adjusting neck angle( for taylor guitar was designed for it), so that my guitar has better string hight and grip. He first suggested my guitar need to re-crowning the fret job and it costs $135. So I asked him to do that job with angle adjust for better grip with no buzzing. But he filed down my $200 worth saddle too much, and buzzing still was existing. When I told him the buzzing still exists, he did trust adjustment. His skill is not professional. The result was, same grip, light buzzing. He filed down too much. He ruined my expensive guitar and saddle. I paid $135, and no improvement on my guitar, but returned with ruined saddle.I Do Not Recommend this place for setting up acoustic guitar.
Got a great deal on a cymbal that I was able to resell to them for an extra 100 bucks, Thanks guys.
What a great store. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and take customers interests to heart.
Super professional, description of the product 100% corresponds to reality, fast deliverycan recommend the business and will shop there again.Wentzel Bechdenmark
