I recently had an excellent buying experience at Frank Subaru that was unexpected during the current vehicle shortage/microchip crisis. Although I had to wait 3 months for my Outback Onyx XT, I was able to walk in and out of Frank in less than 2 hours the day it was delivered. Denise and Moises were excellent sales staff and made the overall process very enjoyable.

Victor my advisor is always great. And I have been coming here since I purchased my car, and in the past I was so happy with everything that I even recommended to my friends. Here are my issues the last few times I have came. 1. I have had a problem with my radio Bluetooth since I purchased the car and the issue is not fixed. I have been told it’s under warranty but they have to actually have a video or be able to replicate the issue- but it happens only once a week or so. It occurs randomly. I feel like since I have brought it up 20 times it should just be replaced- I mean why would I want something replaced that works?? I am starting to think I need to go to an audiologist to document my hearing loss from the issue. 2. They are starting to act stingy with Uber or using a courtesy car. 3. They no longer wash the car when they service it- apparently covid took that away and they are not bringing it back. I spend a lot of money there and so that bothers me- how cheap can they get! I hate to leave but I am definitely finding a new place to get my car serviced, and I am going to get a hearing test.

My wife has a 20 year old Subaru and for the most part it’s an excellent car. The key is to always keep up with maintenance and fix any problems that may arise right away. My wife loves her Subaru and hasn’t found another luxury vehicle quiet like it and if she could keep it running for another 20 years she would. The customer service at Frank Subaru has been superb and Brian is the epitome of excellent service!

I enjoyed my car buying time at Frank Subaru in National City. Moses listened to what I wanted and offered a test drive by myself or with him. He did a fine job of explaining many safety features.The staff there worked politely and professionally with me about the Costco discount. When I returned, I couldn’t find my salesman Moses, but Manny stepped up and took care of details until Moses got back to finish the deal ….. all smiles and knowledgeable information. Very impressive service.

I have purchased two Outbacks over the last few years at Frank Subaru and both times it was a pleasant, smooth and efficient process. The sales department, managers and service department have made both purchasing experiences fun and amazingly fast. A shout out to employees like Marco Vazquez and NadiaPicou. They were excellent and made the process personable and stress free. At a time when inventory is low and other dealerships charge “market adjustments” to take advantage of consumers it was nice to have a quality dealership that charged a fair price. Frank Subaru is a dealer that treats you well during times of supply shortages and by doing so they have earned my future business.

I was looking for a SUV and had narrowed it down to a Toyota, Subaru and Kia. Manny at Frank Subaru was very helpful and knew all the details about the Subaru SUVs. He was understated and I felt like we were trying to figure it out together.Once I decided on a Subaru, I went to several other dealerships and felt most comfortable with Frank Subaru. The additional fees for delivery, prep, etc. were half what they were at other dealerships. Other dealerships included a bunch of stuff ($2K) that was standard but not wanted. Things like an extended warrantee on paint??Manny was great. This is the second vehicle I have bought from a Frank dealership and they are good to work with.

I am beyond disappointed with their service center. I am now on month two of them having my car for an insurance repair and 3 failed repairs later, all attempts at getting in contact with my service rep and the service manager have been ignored. The only time I get a response is when I show up in person. At this point I just want my car back so I can take it to a shop that is competent even remotely considerate of a customer’s time. I can’t say I would recommend this dealership to anyone, and it’s made even more sad by the fact that Subaru normally has an amazing reputation for customer service.

Everything was great until my car had to get repaired. I bought a used 2017 WRX because I thought Subaru’s were reliable but in under seven months of me owning it, I had a big repair costing me 3,300. They gave me a discount but still I would never expect to have to pay for a huge repair when the car is still new to me. Overall a bad experience and don’t recommend a Subaru if you are not trying to waste money repairing it.

I found the car I was interested in on autotrader.com and called the dealership to see if it was still available. The people I spoke to over the phone were knowledgeable and pleasant. I made an appointment to come down to test drive the vehicle. They were prepared to answer my questions and show me other stock available at their site. My salesperson was patient and well versed in the different features that each model and year had so I could compare my options. The financial person I worked with was patient, thorough in their explanation of the different warranties and services I could purchase and how that would effect my monthly payment. I was offered a competitive rate on my financing. For me, buying a car is equal parts stressful and exciting. Everyone I spoke with at Frank Subaru was knowledgeable, courteous and at no point did I feel pressured.

Clean and nice areas to hang out while waiting to get my car serviced. Everyone is always super nice and helpful whenever Ive taken my car in. They were a bit busy and even though I showed up early to my appointment they let me know it was going to be an hour to hour and a half to do my routine maintenance. We ended up being there for about 1.5-2 hours.Brought my dog with me and we were able to just hang out in the little dog run area (about the side of 1.5 parking spaces, short turf, water hose, and poop bag station). We brought a ball so we were able to keep my girl entertained for most of the time. One of the custodians was super sweet and brought over some goodies for my dog while we were out there and gave her a squeaky toy on the way out after they were done with my car.

Frank Subaru makes auto maintenance so easy! They sent me a remimder of an upcoming annual inspection along with a scheduled slot held for my vehicle. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the valet and my service advisor. Brian and I discussed what needed to be done and an issue that I had noticed and the service team went to work while I waited in a very clean and comfortable lobby area. I received a face-to-face update on how the work was progressing and an estimate of when it would be finished as I sat in the waiting area. When the work was complete, instead of paging me to come to the service desk, Brian, my service advisor, came to me and explained all that had been done and that my car was ready. KUDOS!

My husband and I were looking to replace our Toyota SUV and after tons of research we decided to check out Suburu.I went to the dealership website and loved that it easily allowed me to review trims, packages, their current inventory, as well as different pricing estimates with a soft credit pull and some basic information. They also called me to give me a heads up that the vehicle I was looking at online was in transit.We headed to the dealership for a test drive where we met Arturo. Of all the dealerships we visited (Kia, Honda, Toyota) we were most impressed by his knowledge, transparency and professionalism. He let us know again that the vehicle we were interested in was in transit but was happy to show us one in the same trim level but a different color. We test drove it and then he answered all of our questions accurately and confidently and we agreed to head inside to find out when the vehicle would be arriving.Turned out the car was arriving the same day. We agreed to come back when it was ready and talk numbers. The numbers matched almost to a T the estimates we viewed online which included taxes fees etc. we appreciated that because often with advertisements the price you see isnt what you get! He was knowledgeable on all the questions we had in regards to pricing and offered some tips on warranties etc with his experience, but was not overly pushy.He showed us around the facility and we were very impressed by the dealership, the facility and the service from everyone we encountered! They have a dog park for your dog to use, Starbucks coffee, a childrens waiting area, and free dog tags. It felt way more luxury and family oriented than Toyota across the street.We will definitely be coming back to see Arturo when its time to replace our next vehicle.

Amazing customer service! I used to go to Kearny Mesa Subaru but after KMS refused to fix my car twice and their service advisors talked down to me like a child I decided I would not be going back. Then a friend told me to go to Frank. Made an appointment, showed up, told them the problem, and an hour later had it fixed, turns out there was a software update for my ECU. My service adviser John was very friendly and did not talk down to me, he listened to what I had to say. These are things I appreciate immensely. Definitely will be coming back for all my service needs in the future.

The finance person was excellent and quick. The only challenge was getting the car washed and gassed up. Apparently they initially had the wrong car. It took about an hour and a half for the cleaning and gas fill up. They seemed busy and maybe that’s to be expected

Frank did a solid job of changing my oil and checking tires, brakes, fluid etc on my Outback. I had an appointment and was at the dealer about an hour, nice enough waiting area.. They missed some detail opportunities - a bunch of residue from the old oil change reminder sticker was left on the windshield and I had to scrape it off myself; my car wasnt washed, which is a simple but appreciated effort and something I got used to at my last dealer. I bought my car at Frank and this was my first service experience with them. I live in Clairemont and they are in National City and I am considering looking for a dealer closer to home.....

Frank Subaru in National City had the least one star reviews of any dealership I researched and I looked at many and not just Subaru dealers. Truly amazing accomplishment seeing the way people like to complain and how easy it is to do.I could go on for hours how easy, fast, and pleasant the buying experience was. Fill out the forms and get a quick no bs quote. I filled out the credit application at 4 pm one evening and they delivered my awesome new Subaru Forester at 10:30 am the next morning. I watched at least 20 YouTube videos of professional driver’s reviewing the car and ride quality so I was not worried about not having a test ride. My socially distanced buying experience could not have been better and we love our new Subaru.

UPDATE: I spoke with the GM and had a lengthy discussion about my circumstances, he assured me this is out of the norm and listened to all of my concerns. He even went so far as to special order me a new car to ensure I am happy with the delivery and service. He really went above and beyond to make sure everything was right. Really appreciate the extra effort and the help.I was attempting to purchase a 2021 WRX STI and had to badger multiple sales people over the course of 6 days to respond to me at all with any updates on the order status, my deposit receipt and any progress on financing. This is similar to what happened in 2019 when purchasing another vehicle from Subaru. We ended up going to Kearny Mesa Subaru because even Juan the Sales manager defended the rude and unprofessional behavior of his sales people.

Overall customer service and maintenance was great. Only complaint is that when you steam clean an engine bay please make sure you clean the windows afterwards. My windshield and my front passenger window were very dirty after.

This is the only Subaru dealership I will even go to. The staff there is amazing and so different than your typical pushy sales people. Marco in sales is amazing and goes above and beyond to help out. JP and Luis in the parts department are always friendly and knowledgeable with every question I have.

Not at all satisfied with the service I received from my technician, and I can’t even mention his name because he had one of his coworkers put their name on my receipt as my service technician. At least I assume this is what he did unless his name is Michelle?? I usually go to a service center that does an oil and filter change with free tire rotation for $70, but wanted to take my car to Frank Subaru for this service as they also include a free car wash. I paid $125 for this service and did not get the complimentary car wash. When I asked my technician about the prices he said he would “call his boss” but I highly doubt he even did that as he never spoke to me again after this conversation. At the end of my visit I was charged the full price (no follow up from the technician = extremely unprofessional) and they claimed they aren’t doing the car washes because of covid, but covid restrictions have been significantly less for months now, so it seems like they are just being lazy with offering this service again. The prices for an oil change are absolutely ridiculous here and I will not be returning to this location for any more oil changes on my car.
