Wow! This place is amazing! They were very knowledgeable and helpful in my endeavor to pick out the right fishing kayak. The prices were very reasonable. In fact, what I ended up purchasing I couldn’t find anywhere else and the price was very comparable to buying a used kayak with all accessories. I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for any type of water equipment!

Damaged & lost order.Ordered a yeti bag, received a 2nd hand damaged yeti bag with blue paint on it. Sent it back and this location was suppose to send NEW yeti 2 days ago, but tracking says only the label created not sent. Contacted location and got a run around how they don’t know where it is.Cancelled the order and blocked payment.Don’t appreciate the store employee telling me they are busy fulfilling other orders but not mine. Also don’t like how they originally sent a damaged product on purpose.

I had never been in this location. Stopped by on my way up north. Ended up buying a Voodoo. These folks are knowledgeable, friendly and great at customer service. Jacob helped me as I walked through the store asking if I needed this or that. It was a great experience. I am picking the SUP on the 5th. And will buy more stuff from you guys. Jacob is outstanding

Seemed like most everything was a demo, not for sale or sold. Guy there didnt seem real interested in helping. He just greeted us and the sat there stocking a shelf. Just bought one online and paid the shipping.

I purchased here due to a high praise from a YouTube video and the low price. When placing the order I saw it was the last item available in that color and that it would ship out Monday so it was a must have. After I placed the order I saw that on the website it still said there was still one available which I thought was odd and that is what prompted me to check out their reviews. I was shocked at how many negative reviews this company had. So many people saying they had damaged products arrive on delivery, delayed deliveries, never arrived orders, etc so I decided to cancel the order even before it shipped rather be safe than sorry. When I called their customer service they were polite and cancelled, said there was going to be an email sent. They did send it, along with an email stating that my order was confirmed (I called back they assured me that it was cancelled) on that email it stated that the item I cancelled (thank god) would have been set to ship in 1-2 weeks! Which is absolutely crazy seeing as when I put the order in it said it was available and set to ship Monday!All in all I’m glad I cancelled and saved my self from the trouble of dealing with this company further.You should stay away from it too!I still have a pending balance on my card so we’ll see how that goes.

Can not express enough how great these guys are. Bought my first kayak here and will definitely be back for anything I need. The customer service is top notch. Took the time to teach and explain everything I needed to know. Felt extremely welcomed here not like other places that seem dodgy unless you’re actually buying something.

Great customer service by Madison. Loved her positive attitude. We asked several questions and she was so knowledgeable. My hubby loved that if she didnt know the answer she didnt guess. She went and found the answer! Both the other two employees (Stephanie & Kyle) were just as nice and helpful! Only 4 stars because the store is so hot, no a/c.

Very disappointed with our brief experience at this location. Ready, willing and able buyers but were completely ignored. I heard a hi, how are you mumbled by one of the two people behind the counter on their phones as we walked in and was never approached by anyone attempting to sell a kayak as we looked at every model on the floor. Heading back to Academy to purchase THREE kayaks now.....obviously these guys dont work on commission. The South Austin location has very friendly and helpful folks so if you need to ask questions or discuss options you are better off taking the drive into Austin!

Very helpful staff. Made quick work of installing a kayak carrier extension on my Pickup truck using the trailer hitch. All gear was in good working order. Return of the gear was equally smooth.

The staff is great! I bought a Diablo Adios Kayak from these guys and they got me a great deal and installed my roof rack and all. I keep coming back to them for accessories and to see what new things they get in. Awesome store!

Bought my Moken feel free 12.5 from AC&K back in 2013Overall my experience with Austin canoe and kayak has been very positive.I love my kayak very much💜.As Most kayak owners know after time, accessories will wear out and more accessories will be needed.That brings me to the main point of this post....I dropped by the San Marcos Austin canoe and kayak the time was about 5:30 pm in the evening, closing time was at 6 PM I needed several questions answered and accessories for another kayak that I bought and had several questions about that as well but it seemed the staff of Austin canoe and kayak were in a hurry to close that night..I felt very rushed and hurried, did not have time to ask all the questions that I needed answered about accessories. felt very rushed.........My questions seemed to be a burden instead of an opportunity for a sale...Oh well😞Don’t feel very enthusiastic about going to that store any longer ....Perhaps at a different location I can get better service...

Great rates and advice!

The store is great and the people there are really helpful. Their warehouse sucks and its a horrible mess. Expect orders to be missed forgotten delayed or mistakenly duplicated. As long as youre patient youll eventually get what you want.Each location is different. San Marcoss location is not on my list of favorites. Austin location is okay but they seem annoyed and unwilling to try and sell you anything. The San antonio location is by far the best.

Went to purchase a chain for my mirage drive after mine snapped while on the water, asked if they had tools I can use to change it, they instead offered to change it themselves! Great service!

I visited the San Marcos store. The dude seemed to like his job, fishing, and they are dog friendly. Not to mention I didnt feel pressured to look at any certain brands.

Learned a lot about kayaks. Ask about demo days and score a deal on a yak.

Grant was super helpful in teaching me about the differences in kayaks instead of just selling one....awesome customer service

ACK is a great store. I bought my hobie online from them and service was very solid. Would def feel comfortable buying from them again. And I love my hobie i-12s.

Great service. Some of the selection of items is hit and miss based on when you go in. There are almost always alternatives to what you might be there specifically for, so that is good. Out of stock items can take a bit to get.

I was there back in the spring and the guy running the shop was very helpful. He gave me a crash course in how to plastic weld my broken kayak and even gave me some same colored material to help me fix it. I did what he told me and now I have my kayak back on the water. Thank you ACK!

Poor customer service, once you order a product they have no clue when it will arrive. If you call them with a question they say they will call you back once the 1 computer is available and they never do. I canceled my order of two diablo amigos because I refuse to let them make a dime from me. They know they are the only one that sells the product in the area. They dont care about the customer.
