I came in a couple of weeks ago to start learning bass, so I was very greatful that the nice people that work gere were very welcoming and knowledgeable about products. They gave me all the information I needed to make an informed purchase. Would recommend heavily.
New Braunfels Music is stellar! I havent purchased an instrument there, but Ive taken 2 different guitars (Fender Tele & Taylor Acoustic) in for repairs. Thomas and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and overall just do great work. I cant say enough good things about my experiences there. Give them a try, you wont be disappointed!
My nine year old son and I stopped in there a few weeks ago to check it out and got a very nice greeting at the door. There wasnt a huge selection but enough to keep two novices like us busy for about thirty or forty minutes. My son looked at everything in the store...picks, pedals, acoustic and electric guitars. He was even allowed to strum a few really nice acoustic guitars and his first ever strum on an electric. When the sales guy heard him strumming he offered a few variations of what he was playing in the form a quick tutorial...it was pretty cool! In the end, we bought three new picks and youd have thought we just bought a new Strat by the way we were treated. We will definitely be back.
Nice music store. Decent selection of products, and the employee there was knowledgeable and very helpful regarding every question I had.
Been in here several times. Always greeted by nice individuals who are willing to help. Thomas helped me today and he did a great job. Great staff and great store.
I’ve enjoyed learning from Thomas while he changed the strings on my acoustic. He and Richard are friendly and knowledgeable, they even let this beginner hook up to an amp to show my progress (good thing no one else was in the store ;)
Friendly staff. Mostly just buy strings from them.
Not the same small town shop it used to be. Was greeted by a very condesending individual who felt his job was to correct my speech rather than helping me choose the right parts for my accustic. When i started shopping here years ago, it felt like i was family walking in the door. This trip i was made to feel like i was an inconvience. If I was willing to deal with service like this id just go to Guitar Center...
Ordered trumpet for my son. Explained everything clearly and received exactly what we needed.
Friendly staff, had great purchasing options for a beginning band student. Was knowledgeable of my daughters schools requirements. Made this purchase a very easy experience. Highly recommend them!
Great people, lot of info quickly, needed a guitar for my daughter, super helpful, very informative, great price.
My guitar is from there. My guitar is a love of my life! It’s grown up in good hands & sweet.
They do great work! Ive had three guitars set up by them and they do great work. They kept me informed about everything and the price was reasonable. I bought an amp from them a few years ago and the price on that was reasonable as well. They are very nice and know what the customer service is about.
Solid small music store. Its a bit of a drive for me but worth the trip. Great people.
Pics show huge supply of products but when you get to the store its practically bare bones with very little to no variety in equipment
I drove 15 miles to this store only to find no one there and the doors locked with the sign clearly posted close at 7p.m. It was 6:40 p.m. A few days later I found them open and asked about why . The clerk stated, On Saturdays if no one is here we sometimes leave early. I informed him I was there on Thursday. His response was, Um.....ok. Its rare that you find this level of competence . I can honestly thank New Braunfels Music Company for making the local pawn shops look so good. Well done guys.
Regardless of your experience level the gentlemen will make you there priority. Very informitive, very knowledgeable about the products and services they sell. I am new to guitar and they didnt try and sell me the most expensive one in the ace. Will be doing business here from now on.
My 9 year old is really picking up guitar thanks to the wonderful staff, great instructor, and ridiculously low prices. Ive priced the same guitars on Amazon, and the price is the same! Why order when you can check out the merchandise in person. Not sure how they do it, but they certainly run a great shop. No better gift for a child willing to learn than the gift of making music.
Update: Robb from NB Music called me today (PLEASE NEVER CALL ME AGAIN) and offered to replace my pick guard with an after market replacement, but I declined. This solution would have meant I had to trust my guitar into their care again for a lesser part to be installed and that was not a satisfactory solution to me, as Robb tersely said I cant go back in time and undo the damage. I stand by me completely honest and frankly, very diplomatic review of my experience with NB Music. Not impressed with Robb, his soft skills or his approach. (caveat emptor). ORIGINAL REVIEW: I dropped off an immaculate limited edition guitar for a set up and got it back with scratches all over the pick guard and I am super upset about it. Back story: When I dropped the guitar off that morning the young Man working there politely let me know that there were several guitars in front of me to be serviced, so he did not know if it would take a day or a week to complete the work. I asked him to have the guitar tech call me when he got in before he started the work, so if it would actually take a week, I could just come back and pick up my guitar, buy some strings and do the set up myself, so I could play the guitar this weekend. Of course nobody called me, so about 2:30 pm I called them to find out what was going on. The guitar tech told me the same thing that there were several other guitars in front of me and he did not know when he could do it, so I said no problem I will come get the guitar shortly. Then less then five minutes later the tech called me back and gruffly said they had already begun the set up. Puzzled, I said okay call me when its done and they did call me a short time later. Fast forward to when I pick the guitar up: It has scratches all over the pick guard. Not even the type you see from strumming the guitar, but deep scratches in all directions as if it was laid on top of tools or some sort of edge and moved around creating scratches. The usual Guitar Tech I have used there who has only been there for 6 or 7 weeks grabbed some polishing compound and tried to fill in the scratches, but the damage is done and the tech other tech who caused the damage was hiding in the back while this guy was trying to rectify his mistakes. I wish the guy with the polish would have been the one to work on my guitar, because he has been great in the past when he has done work for me, but the other guy hiding in the back of the store from me ruined my pick guard. I am out over $80 for the set up and now I have to buy a replacement pick guard for my new guitar, so who knows how much that will cost me, but likely between $50-100 since its a limited edition? Then the cashier guy at the counter gave me a free $5 cheapo guitar strap trying to smooth it over as if that would make me okay with the damage, really? The bottom line is this, I have used them in the past because they are close to me and it was convenient and they are always polite, but never again. I would prefer a highly skilled rude guy to a nice guy who doest know what the hell he is doing. They have a very limited and underwhelming selection of guitars and merchandise and it appears that the newer guitar tech that has only been working there for 6 or so weeks is the only one who knows what he is doing as a Luthier. Extremely unhappy with this transaction and I encourage others to think twice before patronizing here. Plenty of other options a short drive away if you care about your guitars and need work done on them.
Decent selection for sq. ft. of interior, the mark-up was reasonable, i believe experienced employees select the best apples from their wholesaler as far as quality. One employee tried to force me to strain my eyes versus putting the few packs of strings on their customer counter so i could select my preferred set. I do not understand that behavior. If a phone call interrupts your current interaction, you kindly place someone on hold, which did not happen. Kind of difficult to transact with attitude of this nature and yes; magnitude. Better off with robots with that type of interpersonal savvy. However, my experience as a whole, kept me from an impulsive down payment and went somewhere else, saving $$$. Another customer playing at piano dynamic (not loud), was told to turn down, were havin lessons After observing this, I set up and adjusted to about the same level: played some rudimentary scales, progs...like s*** and heard snickers from both employees, then in a show of contempt; changed my tune. During their lessons. Their attitude is what dreams are made of-Downing me for having dyslexia, hearing problems, maybe the fact that Ive been on Bass outside-in via conservatories, bands, bars...and that a Rhythm section component is something special to me for reasons of losing members. Its okay, I found better, even on a Sunday, its called integral competition. Ha
We took our sons instrument to be cleaned and was quoted a range for the cleaning. When we picked it up, the charge was significantly higher. They had made unauthorized repairs without our knowledge or even attempting to contact us about it. When we complained, the managers response boiled down to essentially a shoulder shrug. We had no choice but to pay and leave. We will never return.
$18.00 + for Martin strings!!! Crazy.I went to Guitar Center in San Antonio and bought these strings for $9. New Braunfels Music will never see me again!
I had a set of $8.00 strings put on my little 9 year old grand daughters guitar, and the charge was $40.91 to install and tune. I live 180 miles fromNew Braunfels, and wanted to give my daughter a check to pick it up, sinceit took them 2 days to complete, and by that time I had to return home. They dont take checks, and I will not be in NB for a month or so.First thing I think they charged me twice what I think it should have cost, and I was dissatisfied with the service, and I dont write hot checks. Therefore, I will not ever be back in that store, or will I recommend it to anyone.
Ive been playing music for over 20 years this has been the worst experience I ever had with a music store. I purchased a new Fender Pro Junior and the first time I used it on stage, 2nd song in it blew up. I took it back to New Braunfels Music and was promised a new one the next week. When I got the new one the tolex was peeling off and tied to the handle obvious to a blind man was a card saying the amp was refurbished. Once again I was promised a new one the next week. Once again the next week oh the order was never put in. By this time I want my money back, but hold on I have to wait for them to MAIL me a check. But I paid cash. Completely annoyed by this point. They had another amp that was $35 more I decided to swap them out and for my troubles they could knock the $35 off, nope not even $10. I had to pay the $35. I was treated like a kid, I was never taken seriously. I wouldnt buy a guitar pick from these people.
Awesome!! I have a PRS that I wanted to get setup and for obvious reasons I didnt want to take it to Sam Ash or Guitar Center. Since I live in Schertz this wasnt too far and I had a great experience. The guitar tech talked to me like a human (Im a guitar player, not a technician. I dont know all the fancy lingo) and the rest of the staff was friendly. Not to mention my guitar plays like a dream now. I would highly recommend. I plan on taking my other guitars here very soon.
Awesome place, great knowledgable staff and the people who teach lessons are great.
Great musical instrument selection! Great staff!
Cant complain. Super nice folks doing the best they can.
Friendly environment, great workers, enjoyable time!
Great people, so helpful and profesional!
Great service
Great hometown store...
Very overpriced selection and I was ignored when trying to get help - I guess the staff is too busy looking at their cell phones to help me....O well, theyre the ones that lost my business, but they dont care.
Cool stuff
Get playing
Quality instruments & friendly staff!
