The Restore is an amazing place. Not only is Habitat for Humanity’s mission important and community focused, but their second hand and lightly used furniture could save you thousands of dollars. Since moving to the twin cities, I’ve experienced some big changes. Between moving from out of state and readjusting from a suburban lifestyle back to condo living, my evolving lifestyle has meant that I’ve had to reinvent myself and my style several times. The affordable and beautiful furniture at both Restores in the twin cities have me that opportunity. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. The offer pickup services and will hold your purchased goods for 3 business days while you make arrangements to come and pick up your furniture. If you become a member of the Restore VIP club you get additional discounts. This place is amazing and it’s such a good cause. I don’t know where I would be without them! Go support your local Restore today!
A lot of good deals especially if you are working from the ground up
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is, hands down, one of my favorite places to visit in the Twin Cities. The amount of unique, high quality goods that are sold is astounding. Prices are fair, and the fact that purchases go towards Habitat almost make that a moot point anyway!I have found gorgeous chandeliers, couches, tables, all completely unique and Im great condition. Part of the fun in coming here is the intrigue - What will I find today?!The staff are salt of the earth - Kat is so friendly and helpful, and makes each visit a joy with the energy and enthusiasm she brings. Everyone else I have ever interacted with there has been extremely helpful with any questions or with helping to load ridiculously oversized items into vehicles.I am always happy to stop by the ReStore, both to check out the selection and to support Habitat. I plan to continue coming to ReStore as my primary housing supply outlet for many, many years. I hope you consider doing the same. Five stars, well-earned.
Lots of supplies for home projects, and a large selection of affordable used furniture.
Big; big space. Lots of things to see and buy. Friendly people. Best place to find a good, clean, used couch
I was shocked by all the cool used furniture I never knew about this place until my dear freind mary brought me there yesterday.if I ever have another home project Ill check this store first.much more than a used furniture store.I bought a super nice card table for 5 bucks and theyre about 40 to 50 dollars new and this looked brand new.ill definitely be a returning costomer.!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kind of a strange place. I went to buy paint twice here. Finding help if you need it is kind of hard. But, once I could tell the staff from the customers it was smooth sailing. Very helpful staff.
Lots of cool stuff! And you can feel good about shopping here
A great place to find amazing pieces, but you need to stop in regularly if youre looking for something special. I found a cafè range with a double oven and induction top for about 10% of retail. Be patient and stop by often.
Great prices. Large selection of furniture. Proceeds go to a great cause. They used to have more parts (light fixtures in particular) for older homes but much of their stock now is new.
Some really neat stuff just get in here and take a look youll find something you want or need 🤯
I love coming here, theres always new stuff and the prices are usually pretty good. Knowing the retail price will help you to know how good of a deal youre actually getting.
They were very helpful, didnt have to get out of my truck, they unloaded it for me
Well deserved building renovation with new south entry.
Love this place and its staff very friendly people great deals to
Lots of space to move around with shopping cart. Unique find today - safety vests in orange with reflective stripes. All new - some in origin bag. Purchased three - one for each of our car safety kits. Surprised to learn you sell donated living room, dining room and bedroom furniture. Thank you to the volunteers.
I love shopping here because they always have something I can use, from tools to lamp shades, door handles etc... I tell all my friends to go there.
We enjoy checking out ReStore, before buying new or throwing reusable things in a land fill.
The prices are obscene, the stuff theyre selling was donated... It was free to them and theyre charging more than retail. I saw a previous comment where the owner claims they try to price competitively! Youre not supposed to be Competitive! Every item in the store should be half of what retail is. You Got It FREE!Attn: Donors, If possible donate your items to some nearby thrift stores. They price their items a little more reasonably. Let the ReStore know you want to keep the money local and help local folks. It would not surprise me to learn someones embezzling from this place.
Excellent value for furniture with great selection and friendly staff
Best non profit with the best people. Jill Carmondy and Jan Hagerman are great people doing the most important work. The store is BEAUTIFUL with so much gorgeous stuff. Please support Habitat for Humanity
Covid safety practices were in place here. A sign at the entrance advised of a mask requirement while inside the store. Employees also adhered to this rule. The store is well organized. The areas of the store are clearly marked with hanging signs so you can find what it is you are looking for easily. Items for sale are clearly marked with a price as well as any special requirements, such as you have to load it yourself, no assistance from employees (this was for very large/heavy items). The items they had for sale were pretty clean. The furniture for sale is in good condition, especially considering it is used. The store itself was clean and well kept. Employees were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Selection will vary from day to day so if you are looking for something specific you might need to make weekly trips to the store to check out new inventory. As far as Restores go this one is one of the better ones, if not the best, I have been to in Minnesota and Iowa.
12 $ leather chair and ottoman!!! most of the time the sales make things reasonably priced
Restore is a great place to get painting supplies like paint brushes, paint rollers, paint pans and paint. Its also a great place to grab art, or flooring, or tools or supplies. It has everything for do-it-yourself. Its also great for donating your own home furniture, your couches, your chairs, your nightstands and your bed frames. Theres just so much here.
Generally a good experience. Several years ago Restore picked up a lot of furniture from my garage - excellent service! A couple of weeks ago I brought an overstuffed chair in very good condition to Restore. Because I had never been there before, I went inside and asked where I should go to have the chair unloaded. A gentleman went with me to my vehicle to see the chair, said to drive around the back and someone would unload it. The two men refused to unload it because the fabric was flowered and “would NOT sell!”. Even though I said I was told it would be unloaded- they stood there and did NOTHING to help. My husband and I are in our mid 80s and somewhat disabled. I asked if we could leave the chair IF we unloaded it. We STRUGGLED and finally got it out of our vehicle and INTO the warehouse. I did browse through the store— the Ethan Allen chair I donated was in far better condition than some of the chairs on the selling floor. It’s amazing to me that someone would not purchase the chair because of the subdued flowered fabric! If I had a photo, I would send it to you. That was my challenging experience; however, I will continue to donate to Restore. Thank you that Restore provides useful items to the community.
Some pretty good used stuff. The house flippers snatch up the good stuff real quick. So if you see something you want, get it then because it will be gone tomorrow.
Prices were good but the majority of the staff seemed stressed, overworked. Interesting it was the women that seemed to be having a very bad day. The men were kind and easy to work with.
Dropped off a donation. The gentleman who helped me was super friendly and unloaded a dresser that was heavy enough for two people like it was made of paper.
Well organized and priced clearly.
Good selection of new and used household furniture, light fixtures, doors, and tools. Also an assortment of new floorcoverings, hardware, and miscellaneous building materials.
Found some Brazilian cherrywood or jocobo flooring that worked perfectly for the flooring and cost almost nothing compared to retail. What an amazing resource and especially if you dont need a huge quantity of any one thing it is always easy to find a material that works. I have volunteered to work here and all the people were great. I have donated old stuff from projects and purchased other stuff for projects. I hope this place never stops providing such an amazing service to home owners and contractors alike.
Worth a stop once in awhile, and you definitely can find good deals on furniture, lighting, and other stuff!
Very expensive but goes to Habitat for Humanity. Didn’t find anything that was great.
Always nice and clean stores great and cheap prices
Always a great variety of Household things..furniture, tools, paint, appliances, lighting, carpet, flooring, etc. Great deals!
Love it! Bought 2 Century Furniture Sofas (Duck Feather Filled) for $170. Value is $2-4000/each so $4-8000 for both. Love them!
Great prices and a wide variety of household repair items.
Im not sure if its me? But it seems that the ReStore is almost as high priced or if not even a little higher priced then the actual retail stores.
Some great flooring and an interesting assortment of extremely well-priced stuff
They redid this store since we were there the last time. Much more space and very well organized.
Awesome deal, inventory is always changing so check back often.
There are a great staff and very friendly. I am a contractor and I love shopping there. Thank you for all your help and great products and most things are awesome in price few items like used furniture could be cheaper but over all 2 thumbs up. I highly recommend going to check it out I am sure you will find something you need or must buy because of the great deals they have.
Great place for matching old building materials for a good price.Has nice furniture in many ages and styles but need to go often as the stock changes alot
This place has alot of whatever you need. Very friendly staff.
This place has many good options but pricing on many items are way to high. Also, I went and purchased many things and I asked if I could get some help to load it in my car and they said that they were too occupied and to pay and come back. I’m completely okay and understand if they are busy and can’t help in the moment but I’m extremely not okay to see how they helped multiple customers loading their items in the car.. Not sure if that was DISCRIMINATION or what else to call it— THIS is the main reason why I’m giving it 3 stars. I hope they pay more attention next time as customers are who keep this nonprofit organization going.
Always a fun place to wonder around in, never know what you are going to find
Helpful! Definitely go to their website before you go! Some things are seasonal, so check before you load up.
Wide, ever changing selection. Newly remodeled, clean store. Friendly staff. Reasonable pricing. Supports affordable housing mission.
If you are looking for home improvement supplies both new and used, this is the place. They also have assortments of home furnishings. Good deals and supporting a wonderful organization. What could be better? A daughter was able to find a solid dining set, that though needs some work was well worth the price paid.
Other than the nice deals giving to the community and contractors and giving back to the community...this is an outstanding place...however the hospitality with select employees since I have came to this location..needs an upgrade in manners or completely different staff expectations...a handful of times at this location and every time theres a descrepancy with the manners of some of these employees at this location..I intended to just report it if it continues to go further ..so instead at this point I will not only not recommend this location for my fellow business owners,my clients as well.the South branch is much more helpful and respectful then this new brighton location.. otherwise then that I have no issues..even BMO has better employees there then here..Im so shameful of the managers choices in employing some of these people..its already hard enough out here.. why tarnish a reputable place with a couple of bad eggs
Great bargains friendly staff members. I spent hours in the store.
Do they deliver in st.paul
Great deals on great products. My family and I remodeled our entire house, and saved thousands thanks to the various Restores we have visited.
This place is so much fun to shop at. Dont go looking for something specific but if you have an idea of what you may need theres a chance theyll have it. New and old items. Lots of tools, doors, windows, lighting and everything in between. The volunteers are so nice and helpful. Bring a load of stuff to donate then stop in and see what you can get to replace what you donated. Dont be afraid to get your hands in there and dig deep. Thats where you find the hidden treasures!
It used to be a much cooler place to shop now the pricing has gone way way up and some of the staff are kinda stuck up or act like they are better then you. You can still find some good deals and if you go enough you will figure out what staff to deal with and what staff to avoid and believe me you will want to avoid them/her at all cost on the good side of things there they do have a larger selection of stuff everything for furniture and home decor to toilets windows appliances and paint and they have a lot of volunteers working there that are mostly very nice and helpful people just make sure to watch the pricing....
I love the ReStore. It has some great gems if youre willing to come often, as they get new things in all the time. Its a mixture of used items taken out of existing homes, and leftover building materials from Habitat for Humanity builds. Weve purchased several things from here: a china hutch, a chandelier, towel racks, tile (though usually only good for smaller projects, as you wont find huge amounts of the same tile), etc.The only downside is the hours, as they close at 6 on weekdays and 4 on Saturdays (closed Sun/Mon). This means you really have to plan your travel, and since there arent a ton of locations, it could be difficult to make that happen.
Picked up a nice dining room table.
Great prices for home beeds
Great place to find materials and supplies for building or remodeling projects. Also to donate for reuse items in good shape; cabinets, hard furniture, lighting, hand and power tools.Love to wonder around; you never know what youll find.
Love going to this store! If you like working on home projects, then you NEED to visit this place. Theres something for practically every project. You wont always find what youre looking for, but youll probably find stuff for your next project. Its a combination of stuff dropped off by random people, but also stores and contractors getting rid of extra materials. You can also find cool older stuff. I was looking for a vanity light and kinda wanted something that looked older and classy. Found the perfect item! Its like Christmas for home owners!
Very nice, slightly usedOrganizedLots of things
Alright last minute stop! Warning very dusty!
Great place to find tools, building supplies, materials, lights, furniture, etc... Super cheap source of everything related to building and remodeling. The availability of some items is highly variable so it can be tough to find matching parts. This can be a con but it also means you can keep going back and find new things. The parking is also somewhat limited so you may need to wait for a spot to open up if they are busy.Workers are all very friendly and helpful.I try to stop any time Im in the area. Many treasures have been found and I dont think Ive ever spent more than $30.
I cant speak to the store side if things but I went to drop off unused paint for recycling. They accept up to 5gal of paint per person. This paint actually gets recycled into more usable paint. You sure cant complain about clearing out leftover paint that will get reused rather than just dried out and landfilled.
I love to stop into the Restore. Ive been able to do many household projects well under budget. Ive also found amazing things I wasnt necessarily looking for, Pottery Barn Basic couch, Room and Board Parsons Bed. Such a fun place. Sometimes youll find nothing but other times its like a gold mine
Fun place for DIYers to come and pick up fruit used future, household goods, and everything in between!! The variety available is always changing, and I recommend coming here with an open and imaginative mind. The possibilities are endless, the limitations - what you can dream up. They always have sales going on, its always worth a visit coming into Habitat Restore.
This place is great, but real hit or miss. It might take a couple trips to find what you are looking for. Great got used tools and yard equipment.Keep this place in mind when doing renovations, whether for buying it donating used furnishings.
I love restore! The people are very friendly the variety and selection they have is very good. Also when you purchase something from there is supporting an amazing way to help others
3 years ago we woke up one cold November morning with frost on the inside of our front door. We needed a new front door, but with one single income and a new baby we couldnt afford a brand new door. This store helped us get a beautiful door that we were able to afford! Fast forward 3 years later we have a better income, but the prices have gone up and customer service down. We have a hole the size of a sliding door in the side of our house from the previous owners. We need to build a wall and put in a window. We cant finish this big project because we do not have the money to fix it. We go to the restore because they helped us with the front door, and the windows were just shy of retail price, and the staff were very unhelpful. The products are donated they shouldnt charge $300 for a window or $600 for exterior door. What happened to the idea of helping people in need?
We were able to find many items for projects here. White wire shelving for our closets and pantry. Reasonably priced pots for plants, repurposed items! Check it out, you’ll enjoy walking through and browsing at the many reusable items in the store!
Great prices and rotation of items
Easy to drop off items
Usually there are times that I need somethings for the house and there are donated things that you can by a a lower price.
Everything is over priced. When asked about carpet squares we wanted Jan quoted us .50 a square ft and then changed her mind. Not worth the trip
You never know what you will find at this store. They have it all organized and staff are great at helping you think thru a project.
I scheduled a home pickup after talking at length about my items to donate. Was assured they would be accepted, so took day off work for pickup. Driver arrived but would not take the wood items at all and didnt take the light fixtures I had either! He obviously didnt want to bother with the fixtures, asked if they were in good shape, barely looked at them. I dropped them off the next weekend with no questions asked! They were nice well maintained fixtures I know someone will want. I did not appreciate at all taking a day off for nothing!
Great place to donate building supplies or cabinet you have torn out. Always rotating selection. Great resource for DIYers
Store was so clean, not cluttered with stuff and more higher end things than you normally see in a resale store.
Amazing VIP experience with 50% off lovely stained glass, great modern ceiling light, and numerous other items.
Great staff, great product variety and great prices.
It is an ok store. They do have a pretty good selection depending on the day. You really need to watch and research pricing though. Some things you get a decent deal on some are priced way to high..when they are get things donated they should not be comparing pricing to Amazon new stuff. I have seen things used go slightly less then Amazon new. They even put the Amazon price on the item some times to Male you think you are getting a better deal. They will not negotiate prices either. I dont know who does their pricing but they dont know what they are doing. There is more markup on everything then what a pawnshop charges.
Rather expensive for used materials.
A home-improvement store run by volunteers. What they have is generally of good quality, with some treasures to be found. Some of the prices are a bit strange, but its run by volunteers so give them a break. This is a great place to donate to, as they will accept many household items used in construction and redecorating, plus furniture and anything related to home and yard maintenance.
Some prices are higher then new at the store on some items but have a lot of used stuff at a great price
Love this store! You get tons of great products that are so inexpensive. Great DIY store and shopping there is a wonderful opportunity to help others!
I used to really love this place and the philosophy behind it but something has changed. You can donate used goods and leftover supplies to this place and the money raised helps fund housing for the needy. The Restore used to do more than that. It helped me a new homeowner to find affordable merchandise and restore my short-sale into a livable home while unemployed.More recently, management has seen fit to grossly overcharge for merchandise sometimes more than retail. Someone has taken their eye off the ball here trying to maximize profit. The Restore seems to have forgotten that they also helped the less fortunate by making used items affordable. If you agree with this please help get the word out. Maybe someone has the ear of Jimmy Carter. They need to get back to their principals and I hate to think a new struggling homeowner won’t have this once great resource.
I am a contractor who donated a full kitchen of used cabinets and they were very kind and accommodating.
They charge $16 for a gallon of paint. I went to Menards got the same paint on sale for $13.99 with rebate. I wholeheartedly support Habitat for humanity, but they need to fairly price used items.
Great store with good inventory... but their biggest downfall is whoever does their pricing and I tried to speak to them about it they have no management or anyone that controls pricing nor do they even work with you on prices especially since its a non-profit and all their inventory is donated like seriously youre going to charge $600 for a used appliance that somebody donated a lot of their appliances and certain building materials are extremely overpriced like by hundreds of dollars ridiculous hopefully someday they designate a certain person to actually research the value of things before pricing
I absolutely love foing to the Restore. I saved a ton of money on my kitchen and bathroom remodels. My whole kitchen backsplash tile cost me $16. ❤
I liked this place when it first opened. I went there very often when I had bought my first house and it was a fixer upper. Now prices have jumped quite a bit. Menards prices and their prices are about the same. The Restore doesnt allow returns so I dont go there much any more because I like the freedom of returning what I dont need (since Im not home improvement savvy). Plus the staff at the Restore isnt knowledgeable in home improvement things whereas at other places I can ask questions and get some direction on what I can do. Regardless, the prices for a second hand store are too high.
Overpriced, everything is somewhat damaged. Youre better off buying Menards clearance items. The item I considered buying was broken.
Organized. Prices vary
Always find what need at a great price.
