Is not the best diner around but not bad at all,staff is very friendly and always making sure you doing fine and have what you need.Restrooms are clean and the food is OK,prices are very reasonable for what you get.Im new to the area so still exploring the area.Parking is more than plenty and location is very convenient since is off route 13 and probably a mile from 95.
This diner was completely refreshed in the interior during the 2020 Covid shutdown and completed shortly after reopening. The menu is typical of most diners but does have some specialty items. The food is well prepared and of sufficient quantity and quality.My party of 6 have been very satisfied with this diner and have met here once a month for the last 3 years. The ownership is always cordial and the waitress staff very attentive.
Great people, great service. Clean and spacious bathrooms. My husband and I were seated as soon as we walked in. This same restaurant took a major last minute order for me. I was celebrating my 10 year vow renewal and needed a great breakfast for the morning prep crew. Even though I had to pick it up, everything turned out excellent and the morning crew was very grateful😋😋
The staff is great friendly and we didn’t wait long, BUT babbbbyy let me tell I order cheese eggs and the eggs was so runny. She asked me how I liked my eggs I should have said DEAD all the wAy. I can’t even look at the picture without gagging. I had fish and eggs fish was crispy but not good. Like I said the staff was great!!!!!
This isnt the old Golden Dove. The food here is much better then that. This is the The Dove Diner. You will be impressed with the meals served here. It gets a little packed on the weekends (for breakfast). But its still never a 45 minute wait like other places. Its enough seating here to be social distant even when its crowded. Waitress are very pleasant. This is my New breakfast spot. The food is delicious 😋🤤. And I never wait for seating.
Got sick last time, due to chef NOT listening to waitress who specifically stated I had FOOD/Wheat-Gluten allergy, SOooNO Bread/croutons...I got hidden croutons, SOoo THIS B-day TIME Im sitting on the sidelines, just H²O🙏!!Got2B MOOR CAREful, Look b4u Eat!!!
Our food was delicious and there was plenty of it. We only wish it was a bit hotter when it arrived to the table. I also feel like out of the serving staff we met. Only the hostess was cheerful. Our waitress seemed like she was having a long day already and it was only 10am. Not from this area but we would eat here again if we were to pass through again.
This was a classic diner experience. The atmosphere is straight out of the 1960s, but with some modern flair, like having USB ports right at your table. The menu is fairly standard diner fare, but the food was exceptional. The staff were all impressively friendly and accommodating. This is somewhere well visit again if were ever back in this area, for sure.
I went today, was seated quickly, however, we had been seated for over 15 minutes and no one came to our table. Then 2 guys came in after us and were seated, not even 2 minutes after they were seated the waitress asked them for their drink order. We got up and left and as we were walking out I said to the manager, who by the way had been talking with a group of people about 2 booths ahead of us and had told the waitress to get the 2 guys drink orders, that was so wrong of them to treat us like we werent even there. He didnt even respond.
Its nice to know you can still go to a place like this and get some real good old-fashioned food
Went for breakfast, regular breakfast food, menu wasnt that outstanding but it was doable if your just trying to fill up real fast . I noticed they had a bar which didnt open until later which is a little different from regular diners . I think if theyre going to have a bar in there they should consider serving mimosas or other drinks related to breakfast
That was the only open diner after 11 pm.I got Greek salad which tasted great.I got stuffed broiled salmon which was too greasy for me (the fish and the stuffing), so I couldnt eat it.Bathrooms.was very clean.Staff was friendly.Overall, its a good diner I believe, but I cant handle greasy food.P.s. this was my second diner experience. The 1st ( it was somewhere else) the food was too greasy as well.Diners are not for me, but for those like such food, this should be a good place
Food was good. Only one waitress So things were slow. It was posted that things might be slow so be patient on the door when we came in.

I would never go back there again!!! Their food was okay, exception for the Cole slaw was very good!!! But the waitress was very very slow and not polite at all..she didnt even come and ask us was we okay or did we need anything n on top of that she didnt bring us any silverware (what she thought we was going to eat with our fingers)...so me and my mother will not be visiting that place again...the corn beef wasnt real..thats jus my opinion⁰

Ive been coming here since 1997 when it was called The Golden Dove Diner... the food is always good, especially for the price. Its always been clean, but theyve done a really nice revamp that was completed last year. The entire staff is very courteous as well. I dont know if theyre still open 24/7, but if you want a good meal in New Castle County, Delaware, go to the Dove Diner.

A neighborhood staple. Eat here often. They made it very safe with covid restrictions. The staff is always professional and very friendly. All the food is excellent!! Everything Ive ever ordered was excellent. Went in one time with chicken fingers in mind, they had a special on prime rib for only $13.95. I ordered thinking how good can it be for only $13.95, but it was fantastic! It was cooked to perfection. Every dish is excellent, so I cant recommend any one thing. But I will say the creamed chipped beef and the chicken noodle soup is to die for!! Visit once, youll be back.
You need to make the outside look a little more welcoming. We thought it was an old closed down restaurant because of the lack of signage and dirty outside. Was not busy so no cars in lot. Make me wanna come in!
Been eating here for years and most recently I have been attending early mornings. I get coffee and a bowl of strawberries, best staff and coffee.

The Dove is an old school diner. If youve eaten at a diner in NJ, NY or PA you know the deal - large menu, late night hours, breakfast focus, old fashioned American fare with a few ethnic additions. Breakfast is available at all times. Dessert portions are generous and, like any Jersey diner, displayed front and center when you walk in. The diner is very accessible right off of US-13, less than a mile from I-95.Considering its Delaware location, menu prices are cheaper and portion sizes seem a little larger than NJ diners. 3-stack of pancakes is $5 even as of 2020 and you get a breakfast meat - it is Delaware, I strongly suggest scrapple, they know how to cook it well here, though bacon, sausage and even Jersey pork roll is available.Overall, this is a great diner right off of I-95 and perfect for road trips. Try the scrapple fries.

Worse customer service I have ever experienced, walked in at 8pm and the hostess guy or whatever he was said sorry we are closing in an half an hour and that they werent taking anyone else.

Ordered a pizza steak sandwich and grilled cheese. Took more than 20 minutes for food to come out and was not hot. The sauce on the pizza steak was very thin like water and the steak meat was the worst I have ever had. Can honestly say steak-um meat would have been better.

They charge for everything if you want to customize anything. For example, want mushrooms on a burger? Extra $1. A different cheese? More money. Bizarre, but the food is good for what it is, diner food.Our server was a delight and kept the mood right by knowing how much to chat and when to leave us be so we could eat. Total champ through the pandemic dining experience.
Not impressed at all. The interior is very dim to start with. The menu is huge, which is a problem here. They should focus on making good things before they try to make many things. The only food that I had that was decent was the soup. I had an open faced beef sandwich. The beef was very dry, and tough. The corn they served me tasted like it was from the bottom of a freezer that had been forgotten about for a couple of years.My wife had a french dip which looked like the same meat as what was in my open faced sandwich. It looked like leather. She stated that it was terrible. Way over priced for the bad food they serve.

Pleasant surprise! Were currently working in Wilmington and wanted a change from Wawa for our coffee break. The Dove was the closest Diner we could find and come to find it is an excellent place for breakfast, the whole crew loves the food! Thanks for hanging in there and staying open for take out so that these essential utility workers could grab great breakfast!
The experience was a bit disappointing. Ive been previously and this time left a lot to be desired. While in an attempt to be friendly the waitress justified these error in the rib eye & egg meal. Saying the cook was overwhelmed really did no justice when the dish costs $21.99. To go orders, not super busy and a 21$ steak with no seasoning or flavor was disappointing. There was an attempt to recook the steak but telling a person just take it home & doctor it up left a bad impression.

They have officially lost a faithful customer. After the diner changed management, I noticed that the customer service became very bad. I have been a customer of this diner since I was a child growing up; and always loved and enjoyed coming there. Not anymore, I have complained before about how the manger or whoever answers the phone. They mumble and rush you with your order and and are not pleasant to talk to. When I go to pick up or visit the diner, quickly notice that both of the older gentlemen do not greet or make eye contact with you ( a bald guy with glasses and another guy with glasses and short hair cut). For some reason they are the two I always get when I do a takeout order. On to the food, I noticed are the food has become extremely blane or burnt. They also do not show your order to you before you leave the diner to make sure its right like they used to do. Now I must say the waitresses are always nice unlike the management. I know they are renovating the diner to make it look more modern, but they NEED to review the food and management as well, because its terrible. Thats why I sadly decided to no longer be a customer.
Quite a nice surprise. I planned to find diner offerings, surprise a very extensive and innovative menu. I tried the broiled stuff flounder it was fresh, tender and broiled perfectly. I could not finish it and only sampled the veggies sides. I will be back to try more offerings. Great gem for food and service, the interior is nondescript and starting renovation but still worth it.

Love the Golden Dove Diner! Had dinner there last night with my family I got the chicken parmesan & my husband got the pork chops both were great with very generous portions. My kids always enjoy the kids meals & the price is very reasonable. I frequently visit & will continue too. Side note, my absolute favorite is the mild chicken fingers, always so tasty!
