Great location right off 95. Huge selection. Big parking lot. Online order pickup gets delivered right out to your car. The eating area is large enough that you should be able to find a spot to sit. No complaints here; it’s a good place to shop.

Staff not helpful at all. The manager is a real jerk, his store lacked to give any customers the help they need, I didn’t receive my full package, drive an hour back and they made me repay for the second dresser, when they cashier mad the mistake of allowing 2 drawers. Went to go get the base and came back with 2 drawers again. And not a base. The manager refused to give us a discount for our troubles. Now I have to drive an hour back to the store to mix there mistake again.

Ikea of New Haven is ok, no option to order some products online. pick up at store or delivery not available. Items I wanted were out of stock when I went to the store, even though Ikea website clearly stated items were on stock. Store layout is fine, I ended up buying a wardrobe.

Great place to shop for furniture with very kind welcoming staff, prices are very reasonable and all the furniture is displayed in a manner that makes it easy to find what you need. There is usually a long line outside the door before the building even opens so come early. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is the fact there was a very low inventory on most of the stuff there, almost every bed and dresser we asked about was out of stock.

This is my go to spot for furniture. The quality is decent for the prices you pay, and the employees are very friendly. The only reason I wont give it give stars is due to the fact that the products arent organized properly in accordance with the location described on the tags. Also, that returns and exchanges line can get pretty long.

Its always a pleasure visiting IKEA! it was our first time here since the pandemic! Def miss being here. To start off with staff who greets you at the entrance, he was very polite and made sure that he handed out masks to anyone needed it or did not have one (Definitely following the safety precautions-so high five to IKEA team) We were thrilled that cafeteria opened up again as its our joy! Best veggie balls and chicken tenders in town and the whole atmosphere is great. On the other hand, when it comes to furniture, there were a lot of items said temporary unavailable hopefully, they can bring it back soon.

I returned two items that I purchased Online. Everything started ok because I was 3rd in line but after 30 mins of waiting, its not ok anymore. There are 2 cashiers doing returns and one is obvioisly not trained right to do the job. The line is piling up and a manager was asking the people in line if they are returning but he didnt do anything to help at all. After finishing the return, I went to get some stuff inside the store and decided to get a bathroom mirror. Snap a pic (below) to make sure I can fidn it quickly. I went downstairs to grab the mirrot and it was the wrong area and could not find anything on the specified area and bin. I asked for assistance with the guy putting back the returned items. He started off with attitude saying that if isnt there the we dont have it. I told him that the item on the area/bin is wrong and if the item is not available it should be market in the first place. The associate did not even rectified my issue not check on the computer and went ahead and help another perso while I stand there and wait. After he is done helping, he just went back and finish what he is doing on the returned item area. VERY DISRESPECTFULL AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALL.

This store keeps getting worse and worse every time I visit.The order pickup area has absolutely no management of any sort that I can tell, just a bunch of employees milling around waiting for orders to come out from the warehouse.Today I was one of two orders, and sat and waited 40 minutes for my very small order to get pulled. When I asked what was going on, I was greeted with blank stares.Absolutely unbelievable for a company that supposedly prides themselves on efficiency.

We found what we went for. Several things on display that we wanted were out of stock. I dont care for the restricted movement floor plan. Its kind like a casino where its hard to see your way out.We bought a bed frame. The order summary included a required additional purchase of a center support piece, which we picked & bought. There was one in the box, so now we have to drive 2 hours to return this hunk of metal we dont need.

We had a missing part from a previous order. The IKEA family card made it easy to look up the purchase, even without a receipt. Staff was efficient, friendly, and helpful. We also appreciated the Covid precautions and cleanliness. We go to IKEA every few months, but there is always something unique and new to see.

Good selection of everything, EXCEPT what you actually need. I encountered 3 staff members today from the cafeteria and 2 store associates, all of which were RUDE/ and or passive. Rushing me to put my payment in when I was not finished, trying to ditch me when I still need help, and giving me the finger when I’m trying to order my food. I love going to ikea to look around and stuff not so much the experience.

Went there today to buy a complete bedroom set and a tv stand mind you everything was picked from their website and none of it was available in store so I tried to order on line right from the store and they had nothing either and didnt even know when anything would come in. So it was a total waist of time.I would never go there or even recommended this place to anyone.

Good for smaller Items that can be self picked up and purchased, I don’t recommend purchasing bigger items that have to go through furniture pick up unless you have a few hours of patience and flexibility since because after purchasing items they may no longer be in stock by the time you reach the furniture pick up. I would recommend wayfair if you prefer convenience.

I purchased a cabinet at IKEA a few days ago and was assured by several employees that someone working outside with a yellow vest would be available to load the heavy boxes into my vehicle. There was no one outside to help any customers. I went back into the store 3 times to have them page help. No one ever came. After almost an hour another unhappy customer loaded the boxes in my car. While I was waiting all that time I also called the store to let them know I still needed help no one ever picked up the call. Waited 45 minutes on hold. Two an half hours total time spent there that shouldnt have taken anymore than 30 to 40 minutes. The employee left the information desk with a line if customers and didnt return. I tracked down an employee to find someone to work the info desk and the pick up dept took almost an hour to bring the order out. This was my first and last time shopping at IKEA. Customer service is not at all a priority at IKEA. If you dont require any assistance and good at self check out youll be ok so I give them 1 star.

I have been shopping in IKEA over 30 years. I assembled more than 100 IKEA furniture. With this past I am said to say goodbye to IKEA. The todays visit was very disappointing: 70% of the shelves were empty, 2 of the 4 self checkouts were closed, despite the long lines. Unfortunately the online shopping experience is similarly poor: I had to wait 4 weeks for shipping a stool. I will avoid IKEA going forward.

Just love this store. I always find something of interest to add to the decor of any room. I especially love the As Is store downstairs where you get highly discounted items. The restaurant upstairs caters good nutritious meals at very affordable prices. The kids love it.

Restaurant staff and cashier need to refresh their customer service skills. The server took her sweet time taking our order even though we were the only ones in line. She looked at us and continued doing what she was doing without acknowledging us. Then, at check out the cashier never said hello or thank you or enjoy your meal and seemed annoyed that she had to check us out. We felt most welcomed there.

First time visitor and I will be returning. The store was clean neat and the staff was friendly. I just wish there were more staff around when I had questions. We are in the cafe and the staff their were friendly and attentive. I ordered the veggie balls with curry sauce, pickled cabbage and wild grains. I was tasty and filling. No complaints. My daughter ordered chicken fingers and french fries. I really like the idea behind using ceramic flatware and the family style environment for eating. I did make a purchase of some hangers, pillows, candles, glass jars, and a dog pillow. Overall good experience here.

Where it has you “wait in line” for someone to bring your stuff the button was grayed out to check in. So we were forced to wait 1-2 hours for the store to open to get our stuff. A little disappointed after my last visit. I get this isnt a restaurant but Ive always enjoyed the food here and prior to my last visit last week I had nothing bad to say about the food but wow was it bad. The food was cold & dried out & the woman working the counter couldnt have been any less friendly or interactive and I had to ask her for the veggies that came with one of my kids meals. When we went to pay the man working the register was texting on his phone the whole time, it was actually pretty comical how involved he was with the convo, Im talking 2 handed texting as Im standing there with my 2 kids waiting for him to ring us up. Im not normally one to keep my mouth shut in a situation like that but he caught me in a lifes too short kinda mood plus it was just so obnoxious I found it entertaining. I just went with it, and patiently waited for him to finish his text so I could pay. (I swear i couldnt make this up if i tried! Lol) on the bright side my kids and I had fun eating our cold meatballs taking in the views, planning our little shopping trip.

We usually make an annual trip down to Ikea mainly to purchase specific items but also to enjoy a family style meal in the cafeteria. Every time that we go they are out of stock on most or all of the items we would like and many of the shelves are bare. They do not do a great job at keeping track of inventory and shouldnt be running out of products like they do.

Walked around every part of the store looking for a type of item they usually have (floating cabinet thing) not only were most items unavailable but when I found one that was available, I went to the section to get one and there were none left. I was told to talk to another person because they might have moved, so I waited thirty minutes to talk to that person (not in stock), and then, for another item I asked about they said “go to returns bc they might have spare parts” so I go to returns and wait 30 minutes, for the guy to spend two seconds telling me they don’t have those parts ever and that 30 minute wait times are typical. I was polite with my clarifying questions and he was extremely dismissive. I said I know it’s not your fault but you all are really understaffed, but either way, he was rude to me and I will never be coming back.P.S. others told me they came a month before and most items were unavailable as well. I guess ikea is moving online??

Drove down from northern MA (2.5 hours) to pick up 2 of the elusive walnut gray Kallax shelves. Got there half an hour before close and everyone was still very organized and helpful! I had read online that you can get replacement hardware from the customer service desk. Stopped by the returns and exchanges section and Annika was kind enough to find the replacement bolts we needed for our Poäng! I’m so excited to finally fix that chair and upgrade our living room storage. 5 hours of driving for 15 mins in store but major upgrades to our living space.

I waited 45 min for the orange vest thst never appeared. A store ataffer on his way home helped me discover the table didnt fit in my car. Ihad to return it and purchase a?different one. Wonky carts and sciatica i got help getting the new table on another wonky cart and checked out. I spoke to the service dept asking for help again. Oh just ask a staffer with orange vest. Lol. She then began yelling at me for yelling at her staff. I said that. My patience was exhausted and it seemed the only way to get the help i needed so i could go to my motel and rest. ( i live 2.5 hours away)She was the very one whod promided an orange vested helper. She continued to berate me and not once did she appologize or even acknowledge my inconvenience or pain. I am 70 years old and this woman was extremely disrespectful inconsiderate and lacking in empathy. She had not checked to see if anyone had helped an old lady with a large box after shed promised she would. There were plenty of staff who could have stepped outside to see.I love shopping at ikea i love the products but. Location not following CDC recommendations for Delta variant virus. Social distancing is non-existent, there are ZERO cleaners on the floor, no masks, no gloves, no hand sanitizer. Surfaces sticky and stained from lack of cleaning.I tried to point this out to the team lead Erik near check out (approx. 6ft short blonde hair blue eyes) who wasn’t even wearing a mask or gloves properly himself and was met with an insanely rude and disrespectful attitude. He clearly didn’t care that he was endangering everyone in his area and made it a point to let me know that he didn’t appreciate me as a women trying to control his job.It’s people like Erik that are responsible for where we are in this pandemic.

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!! IKEA New Haven is horrific. June 26th, 2021 - Made an in-store purchase and waited over an hour and 15 minutes in the pick-up area and was treated rudely by irresponsible staff ( my order was slated to be ready in 20 minutes!). I asked about my order while waiting two times and this young woman had an attitude with me each time. She even stated its not her fault and did not apologize for the delay - nor did she try to find out what the issue was in the warehouse. I then asked for a manger - who finally discovered that the product I was waiting for was stocked improperly and they were trying to dig it out. I was not able to wait, and said I would drive back the next day (an hour drive one way). I informed this manager of the rudeness and noted the very staff member I complained about laughing and watching from her register as I was talking with the manager. The very next day, due to the experience of the day before - and my total lack in confidence in the store and now the products condition (being buried in the warehouse) I cancelled by phone. I paid with a debit card and over three weeks later - five calls to their customer service center - I have still not received my refund for a product NEVER PICKED UP! Today, 7/17/2021 I requested a manager call me back - still waiting. AND the call center gives me a different explanation when I call about my refund.STAY AWAY! Do yourself a favor and pay the extra money - whatever you are buying. Your time and money are not valued at IKEA NEW HAVEN!!!!

I ordered a black dresser online and when I began assembling it realized 3 of the drawers were white. I called customer service and was told I had to go to the nearest store to conduct the exchange. They wouldnt ship me the correct color nor credit me the shipping cost. I went to the store and they exchanged the drawers but still was charged the shipping fee. One store employee attempted to have the drawers assembled in return for all of the inconvenience and was told no by the manager. This was my first and last purchase.

I went to this store and put in a delivery order for an Armchair, a Couch and an Ottoman. Later that week, the three pieces of furniture were delivered, however they only sent 2 sets of feet to go with the 3 pieces of furniture. Whoever picks their delivery orders must have failed 1st grade math, but I digress.I called the helpline on the order form and they told me to call the store. I called the store and left a voicemail, from which I got no response. I called the store again a few days later and was sent to a team lead. He was incredibly rude and not at all helpful. He told me I needed to file a case with the helpline on the order form. You all remember the one, right? The same helpline that told me to call the store.I called the helpline again and managed to get a case number. I was told that someone from the store would be contacting me in 48 hours to move forward with everything. Im sure you can all see where this is headed. Yup, no phone call in those 48 hours.I called the store again and was given an email address to write to about my case. I never got a response until I wrote again threatening to file a chargeback. I was told that the feet had been shipped and I should get them in 2-3 days. I responded and asked for a tracking number and I never heard back. In fact I still havent and I dont yet have the set of feet for my chair.In the past week, I have learned that Ikeas customer service as a whole is unbelievably awful, and the fact that this is all over a screwup with a set of feet for a chair is almost laughable.

The IKEA store is awesome! Its a great place to shop and get some great bargains. If youre looking for decorating ideas, this is the place to go. Each area is fully decorated so you can see a full room or two set up together. You can even easily see the cost of getting everything just the way its set up. The store is huge, so bring your walking shoes! For small items, bring your own bag or purchase one in store. And if youre hungry, no worries. You can eat breakfast, lunch or dinner at the restaurant right in the store. And the food prices are awesome too.

I usually LOVE IKEA. Say whatever you want about it and its products. Everytime I visit New Haven, I come here. This trip left much to be desired. In the sections that I was most excited to shop, there was barely any inventory (bedding, lighting, cutlery). I felt I wasted my time. Couple that with the lackluster offerings in the cafeteria. I ordered a Greek Salad, veggie balls, mashed potatoes (no lingonberries) and broccoli. The sald was the only thing that tasted good. All the hot food was served lukewarm. My hope that this visit was a one-off and if I visit a location in my homestate, my experience will be different.

My experiences have been poor. From items that were supposed to be in stock that were not, to long lines, to unpleasant, unhelpful employees. Its my understanding that they are trying to improve online ordering options and so on, which is sorely needed, but I think they also need to treat their employees better. They seem tired and dispirited. I dont know if they are overworked, or underpaid, or what. As it stands, it can be a frustrating place for customers to shop, and when the employees are also frustrated, there can be unpleasant interactions.

I like ikea, but Im beyond frustrated with this store. Nothing is ever in stock. Yes, there have been supply chain issues with the pandemic, but other locations and other companies are nowhere near this bad. If you check the website daily and go to the store when an item is finally in stock, it will be gone by the time you get there. And you cant win with online ordering - half the things say unavailable for pickup or delivery. Today I finally managed to order something for pickup that Ive been trying to buy for months, and when I got there, it wasnt included in my order and employees sent me from desk to desk waiting in different lines to get refunded for the missing item. Their delivery is also a mess - they use local companies (if you can call them that) who are impossible to contact and never contact you if your order is delayed or canceled. Im so done.

Great place to get some quick furniture at really great prices, great prices on area rugs and carpets, kitchen stuff from rags to tableware to appliances. I always recommend Ikea when you want to update your home, few bucks goes a long way. Like coffee table for 39 bucks or a nice carpet 10x8 ft for 59. Really great deals. Great displays where you get tons of ideas.....just have to see for yourself. You wont regret it, plus you will love their food court!

Not only were we treated badly by delivery service desk but then we arranged for the bed we purchased to be assembled. The man came 4 hrs late had no idea what he was doing. He stayed until 10:30 pm when we told him to leave because it was obvious he was overwhelmed. He never got to the desk. I paid him $43.50 and today we have had to disassemble virtually everything he did because he put the frame on upside down and used the wrong screws in the wrong places. So I will never shop at ikea again I will go on every social media site and share the story. And on top of all this your instructions are not numbered or clear. So if your goal is cheaper prices and quality and frustration you have accomplished both.

First time here, not coming back. This first experience to IKEA was infuriating because as a first timer in this retail establishment there was a lack of employee engagement and guidance. I have been shopping for a dresser for my childs room that has a specific measurement and eventually located a few pieces on the sales floor. Didnt know how to buy them though! 2 were out of stock or not available and so when I finally decided on the piece I wanted it was a complete fiasco on obtaining the furniture. When I finally got help from someone they informed me the dresser was out of stock and I would have to pay a delivery charge. Yet, this piece was not labeled on the sales floor as unavailable. I was fed up and for the fact that there was no engagement or help from employees I will absolutely NOT return to this establishment or do any shopping online with them, subsequently, I will not support task rabbit for any services either.
