I love shopping at the New Haven / Woodbridge location of Amity Wine & Spirit Co. We mostly drink wine and beer in our house, and they have a really large, really excellent selection of both local and national craft beers, as well as some outstanding wine selections from around the world.For wine, I especially like their section of 35 bottles of wine under $35. Or maybe its $25. In any case, it is a good way to venture out and try good (sometimes great) versions of different wines without breaking the bank.Every once in a while when I need to pick up specialty wines (like sake, soju, etc). or liquor, Im also impressed with the selection. Prices are overall very competitive and the service (especially for wine recommendations) is outstanding.

Great selection. Good value. They stock many many varieties, lots of local stuff, and are willing to order something for you if youre willing to wait for it. Also they deliver to your door for $5.

I usually have a decent experience at Amity but today not so much. I walked in today with my burlap bag For shopping. As I walk in I look to my left I see a guy give a signal to the cashiers. I didn’t think anything of it until that same guy walks over to stand near the aisle I’m in & get on his phone/watch me. I’m the only person in the aisle & the store has plenty of customers. I ask him if he wants to hold my bag because I now know he’s assuming I’m going to steal. He says ooh no that’s ok. He’s the manager & his name is Jorge. He shouldn’t be anyone’s manager.I purchased my items and left. The cashiers are always pleasant. I work too hard to be followed by someone who couldn’t hold my title in real life. The audacity.

Best big (over 5000 sq ft) liquor store in grester new haven. If they could just keep their beer cold id give them 5 stars. I suppose the cooler is so big that its hard to keep cold, but still

I used to drive all the way from Stratford Connecticut to come to this liquor store because they always had good prices and a knowledgeable staff it must be under New Management because I went the other day did not get greeted and nobody knew where anything was I was very disappointed

I love this store. Clean, a lot of products. The young man who waited on me, did not have answer to my questions. But; He provided someone who was able to answer my questions. I also like thats the store delivers. Especially around holiday time, the working person, doesnt have run around.

Without question the best liquor store in the area. The varieties of beer, wine and liquor is impressive and prices are quite fair. The staff is awesome and if your looking for that special bottle of wine their advice is perfect and they never oversell. I’ve been going there a very long time and never had a single negative experience.

New layout and store design just doesnt make sense to me. Some beer is here, some beer is there, and nothing is clearly marked. I found myself circling a couple of shelves trying to figure out where everything was. They somehow took a large store and made it looks like a warehouse that is going out of business. I was also hoping to grab a cold bottle of champagne and their cold selection is extremely limited (unless you want the cheap Andre stuff). I hope adjustments are made because the layout definitely doesnt flow. Before this re-design of the store, beer was down the first aisle, all in 1 section with a small overflow of cans to the side. On another note, it would have been nice to encounter friendly staff that asks if you need help (especially when you are circling the store trying to get your bearings). What I encountered were small groups of guys with their arms folded and having little pow-wows. They turned their backs to me and didnt look like they wanted to help. I guess I could have interrupted their conversation but I was in a hurry and just wanted to grab and go. Disappointing.

Ordered a bottle of Blanton’s Bourbon from their online site to be shipped to me in Colorado and I must say I am Very impressed from the ordering to the receiving! Class act employees & store! Bottle could not have been packaged any safer, fantastic job!! I will be ordering from Amity again in the future!

I usually love this store. Great selection, helpful staff. However I am very upset with them currently. I have been waiting all year for a specific beer to be released. Ive gone in, and asked, many many times when it would be in. I left my number for a call when it came in on more than one occasion. Well now I am without any of this beer because I did not get the phone call I requested. This is extremely upsetting. I understand when something is in high demand it my be hard to acquire, however if you tell a customer youll let them know when something they requested will be in, you should at least call them and let them know. I will be taking my gripe to the management next time I am there. Otherwise, great store.

They changed their look. Havent decided yet if I like it. Its definitely more open and easier to see things but its also a bit stark. So What! Enough about the decor. Their selection is still great and the staff are always helpful and friendly.

Huge selection and great service. Also after the renovation its even better and brighter. We go on Sundays to catch Phil who has a huge knowledge of wine and spirits. When we first moved here last fall he found a syrah we liked because we couldnt find it at other wine stores. So he ordered it and now they constantly stock it. Very grateful to have Phil and entire team at Amity wine and spirits so close by .

My husband was discriminated against today in the store he has a walking disability due to a horrible car accident from a few years back and sometimes his legs will buckle and the owner and the cashier were extremely rude to him and mocked him

I have only come here for craft beer and they have an amazing selection. Two store long aisles plus beer in the fridge. Great Northeast selection of beer but they also get hard-to-find beers from the West coast as well. Staff is very helpful. Plenty of parking.

Massive, massive selection. Anytime Ive needed help or recommendations (mostly with wine choices) multiple employees on several occasions have helped me in a super friendly manner. Great location and plenty of parking. Theres really not much more I could ask for!

Amity is an oasis. When I first moved to CT it seemed like there was only Mom and Pop liquor stores. Then I found Amity. Great selection of craft beers, wine, and liquor. Since that time a number of other large package stores have opened, but I still keep coming back to Amity. The staff is helpful and friendly. You cant ask for more!

This store has an amazing craft beer selection. They have a great selection from all over including the usual like Stone, Dogfish, but check out the great local CT selection from New England Brewing, Thimble Island, Kent and an occasional treat from Lawsons. Staff is helpful knowledgeable and with a five guys, Starbucks and Katz deli within 50 yards. Stop in.

This place is my go-to if I dont want to be bothered to go all the way to the Post Road. CT, due to minimum bottle pricing, has a huge number of tiny, low quality, poorly stocked, poorly staffed liquor stores. This is not one of those. A wide variety of choices, a generally knowledgeable staff, and a sensible layout make this my favorite spot in New Haven for wine and beer

Poor customer service and attitude. Refused to honor a gift card sold by the prior owners because their new computer system couldnt read the amount. Rather than work to find a solution they were dismissive. I would never shop there again.
