Very truck friendly Walmart, plenty of space to park a big rig...some over night spots...

Merchandise is well stocked. Store is not supplying hand sanitizer or wipes for the carriage for over a month now and pandemic is still on upswing and intensifying....apparel area is neat and orderly....refrigerator cases not up to date and units are unclean...pricing machines are broken in some places in store..overall maintenance is not being done.. Oct 26,2021.spoke to the manager, he has addressed my concerns...changes have taken place for sanitizer, better cleanliness more over all maintenance...unfortunately there is great pressure on employees due to not enough workers under staffed unable to get new hires...still trying to maintain lower prices, quality products and good stock...I depend on my super store in New Haven....this store is hiring

I go here regularly but the girl that worked the service desk today at around 2:30pm has the worst attitude. I didn’t mind her giving me an attitude when I was double charged for an item, but the way she treated an elderly lady standing in front of me today was the worst experience I have seen. It took another lady to ask her why was she speaking so violently to her. Management should do better and keep their employees on check, especially the holiday season.

Thank you very much, to the two nice fellows that were by the outside door,, for helping put a number of heavy boxes into my car!!However, the ladies room was mess. There were items shrewn about aisle after aisle. Its a shame that the customers dont care and make more work for the associates, that work real hard to make ends meet.

Hit and miss. They no longer sell tobacco products so dont go there for that. The staff (children,) that work there are no help whatsoever,they are clueless, dont know where anything is or know about anything Sometimes you can find what your looking for as long as its not something popular. Food prices are pretty good and some sales prices are great. Main complaint once again is employees not being helpful. They just dont care about anything except next break.

It wasnt as crowded as I have seen it many times so it was a pleasure to go down the different Isles and my other half was with me and he had never been there before so he was pretty impressed with the selection

Very disappointed with my experience at the Walmart in New Haven branch today. As a frequenter of the Fishkill branch, coming to New Haven was quite the disappointment. When I walked in I was greeted by fresh produce which looks delicious and there’s a connoisseur of avocados I was glad to see $.90 for the produce. After the produce I was quite disappointed. There were donuts sprinkled over the floor as if they were Easter eggs, and the $.98 section was quite empty unfortunately. After my unfortunate history encounter I picked up a 1 gallon of spring water add a great deal which was helped to me to find by a nice employee who only seems to be a little high at the time. After I received my water I decided to walk around the store and found the electronics section. There was a picture of the cartoon character from the show SpongeBob SquarePants named Squidward tentacles on one of the screens, this made me laugh and gave me an LOL inside of the Walmart. Unfortunately shortly after I was yelled at by an employee stating that there was only five minutes left until they closed but when looking at my iPhone eights plus, I saw that there was actually seven minutes until they closed. It is not nice to kick customers out early especially when they are paying almost a dollar in your store. To make matters worse once I left the store and went into the parking lot I dropped my water on the floor and it exploded all over me. When I asked for another water they refused, I did not have a enjoyable experience. I will not be returning to this abysmal dirty Walmart in New Haven Connecticut

It is a Walmart. If you dont know what Walmart is like, come on in and check it out! Its a trip. They have literally everything at super low prices. However, if you already know what Walmart is, then you probably wont be impressed. The place is drenched in exploitation.

They r awesome the only thing was I went there today n theyre all out of bags do I have to bring my own bgs. Not a problem.

I love Walmart and I really love Super Walmart. I can do one stop shopping. And I can always find assistance if needed, I dont have to walk and look for someone ending up getting frustrated and just say forget it. Friendly staff and store is always clean.

Never had any major complaints until today. My pickup order was missing so many items that they wouldnt refund all of them...I guess they thought it wasnt very reasonable to have that many mistakes in one order. I dont either! I can say one thing.... never again!

Golly I despise Walmart. There is neither anything special about this place, nor anything particularly horrible about this one. It is simply the usual, soul-sucking, void of a place suitable only to use their toilet or pick up a cheap fishing pole.It serves its purpose the same way that jock-itch powder is useful. I am not a fan on a good day.....

Pretty disgraceful - waited at the pick up for my groceries for an hour. Tried to find somebody but nobody seemed to be around. Called the store number for associates, but nobody every answered. Called the pharmacy, deli etc. but they refused to transfer my call to customer service. I went inside and the nice folks who were working at the services desk told me I don’t need to cancel and that they can hold my order for me, but I had to leave to go back to work. Overall a pretty rough experience, especially to leave with nothing after an over hour long ordeal.

You could literally find everything at this store! The associates were very friendly. The store is clean and well organized. We were hoping to try out some items at the deli, but there was just one person working at the time and the line was just too long. Will definitely return soon and shop some more.

Im giving it 3 because there are times where this store has everything I need and pretty clean..... But the last few times Ive went its been really bad...I mean trashed. Its mostly the customers there that disrespect the place, last time I went there was nothing in stock that I needed, the floors needed a good sweeping and mopping, (there where masks and trash on the floor.) corporate needs to give them new carts, theyre noisy or dont roll. There were one to two registers open with long lines plus self checkouts...but not everyone wants to do that. Ive been going to this store for years used to enjoy it...but these last few years I havent looked forward into going, but this is the best place to get the clothes that I like and fit me.If theyre shorthanded I would understand, I go through this where I work, people dont want to work anymore and thats sad...

They do eyebrow tinting, eyelashes and waxing. Walmart can be very busy, but the long lines go down very quickly. Self checkout service is a plus because there are 15 checkout registers. They sell all you need in the food section. They also has a plus size department. I love Walmart.

I had an awful customer service experience at the self checkout last night around 9:50- 10:05 pm, the associate working this area was very rude and showed no customer service skills. I asked if there was anymore bags of icee, she said NO, I asked for a bag to place my purchases in and she said WE Dont HAVE ANY BAGS, another customer asked could she clean the checkout area, she sucked her teeth and wiped it down. She was sitting down until he asked her to clean. I will not shop here again unless I hear from the manager. Thank you

Store GETO TRASHY never anyone around work every employee at store Ive ever spoken to which has been 5 years now I have to say worst Walmart I go to. Unfortunately this location is near my home but either there rude or stock WALMART EMPLOYEE LINE IS I DONT KNOW NOT MY DEPARTMENT and walk away happens 100 percent of the time. TERRIBLE LOCATION also sheaves empty nothing in it place so when u go to check out ur 12 dollar item u find out at register that itz actually a 70 dollar item I mean time and time again NEVER SHOP AT DIXWELL AVE LOCATION HAMDEN CT UNLESS U LIKE THE GETTO EXPIERENCE

In a pinch Ill go to wally world. If youre looking for made in America expect to spend some time there searching.

TERRIBLE !! VERY unorganized. The store looks old and needs updating. There were no bags for the cashier to bag our items. She told my husband we had to put them in our vehicle or to ask the subway in the store if they had a empty box. Thank goodness he did. I doubt he had enough empty boxes for everyone shopping !! I will never shop there again.

I like the options and size of the store a lot. Customer service is iffy or like 50 so the self checkout can be your best friend here. If youre not to familiar with it all you have to do is scan till you hear a beep, quickly take it off afterwards, put money in and wait for the reciept and or change to come out.

Made a online pickup order for groceries, picked them up, got home to realize half of my order was missing but they charged me. Drove back, they said go grab all the items so I basically go shopping for 40 min to grab all the missing item and bring them to customer service desk and then they tell me to come back tomorrow, pick up is closed, had to leave with no groceries and wasted my time.. this was ridiculous

I come here a lot to do groceries with my parents it’s nice I like it

Dispite still coming back to full strength and a work in progress. It will take time for them to be operating fully again. The store staff try to keep everything in stock as much as possible.

Although their prices are much more resonable than other supermarkets or retail stores, the only thing that still bothers me, is seeing employees walking around sagging their pants, dressed as if they were homeless. most acting in a very non professional manner towards shoppers. Managers are not easily identified or found. Isles and shelves are a mess some refrigerators are missing sliding windows, prices are not clearly marked the sanitation stations are disgustingly dirty

Horrible experience, i was waiting to buy an iPad, and nobody it was at the desk for a long time, and when I saw a Walmart worker and I asked for help, he just told me that he doesnt work and that section, but I told him you must know the person, and he didnt gave me and answer. And then I left..... And I think that Ill be forever.

I always feel uncomfortable when I shop at this location. Lot of young kids work her with no customer service skills. I went on the self check out line. Stared to ring up my items a young lady came over to me and said I have to go to another lane this was for 20 items or less.I was very disappointed in the service at this Walmart.

If you need electronics go to any other Walmart. I just wanted earbuds and couldnt get any help for 30 min and after asking 4 different people finally someone came but couldnt ring me up so then I had to wait in line at a register with 3 people working it but they obviously were having a big problem with the register so after another 15 minutes I just left. Also noticed 3 people hanging out talking by the door doing nothing but couldnt get ONE person in electronics

The grocery pick up is the absolute worst. The associates are always very nice, but they either don’t have enough people working or something, they NEVER pick up the phone, so just pray and wait.

Have been waiting for this store and others to refill their paint supply for nearly a month.Management says theyve ordered supplies but nothing has arrived.Not sure whats going on or how to bring attention to this.

The store is unkept, filthy and a disgrace to the chain. Customer service doesnt exist. Extremely disgusting. I will never shop at this walmart ever again. Corporate really needs to do a pop up and get this store in order.

Ive been using Wal-Mart+ delivery from this New Haven store since moving to CT during the pandemic. Their deliveries are always late, missing items (sometimes half of the order) and/or have expired items - most recently mozzerella cheese a month past the expiration date. Unfortunately I purchased a year membership of Walmar+ so Im stuck in this vicious cycle of waiting way past the stated delivery time, finding missing items or expired items and them calling them for a refund every week for my grocery shopping. A far cry from Amazon/Whole Foods delivery service which is always on time, has the complete order and never gives me expired food products.

Jorge from the grocery pick-up center has been extremely fast, very organized, and so very kind the past two times I have gone. They day I went, the workers were very fast, only waited like 2 minutes for my groceries. I do have to mention, we cannot fully control the circumstances going on in the world, as hard as the employees that are working, people need to understand there may be more substitutions than usual and this is only temporary!

Never had a problem with the pick up area until yesterday. They took almost an hour to get my groceries.

Store was clean and well lit...a lot of employees were around if you had questions. Saw several shelves empty though...even a small aisle or two. Reminded me of when they forecast a big snow storm. Strange!

The parking lot is filthy. And there are often bare shelves in the grocery section. I think this is pervasive as my local Walmarts are the same.

Salad greens seem old. Many shelves low or empty throughout the store.

Ordered on the online went an notified the employee of my orders and a received it promptly. Happy costumer...

The experience was awful in purchasing a bike Cruiser which I had paid a great deal of money for this beautiful bike. The staff was not helpful in getting it into my car they were rather abrupt and nasty. Truly I was surprised because Walmart has been usually a great place to visit.

Dont do online pick up, much faster to just go inside and purchase. Phone number for pick up goes straight to voicemail. Literally have to hope someone walks outside to see your waiting or bang on door in hopes someone heres it. Bad system for something thats meant to be convenient.

This Walmart have Spanish books, and a lot hispanic products and food bcuz its in ones town in CT with high value hispanic population I love to visit every time I came to see my family here..its clean, faster lines services and a lot variety in there inventory go get a trip get out the couch get out ur comfort zone and driveway with a good Gospel music and go buy a good Christian book either in Spanish or English go eat good food and enjoy u day!

Walmart is store loaded with specials for the members of your family.

Not sure how I feel about no masks yet. But it is nice seeing a company say its ok to come in without mask if you have both shots.

This Store used to be a Fantastic Shopping Experience. Now its not so good. They never have enough Cashiers available. You can never find help searching for items. Not clean as it use to be. Staff not doing their jobs always gathering in groups at the Courtesy desk. They act like you are disturbing them.

Absolutely tired of how unorganized their grocery pick up is. I checked in, and waited 40 minutes to get my items. 40 MINUTES. One thing is noticed was that unless you tell then youre there they wont bother coming to you. Also, I literally watched people come AFTER me and get their groceries BEFORE me even after being acknowledged. This place is a nightmare. 40 minutes.. that is completely inexcusable.

Workers are overwhelmed and unhelpful. COVID seems to be carefully covered in stock items that are advertised are hit or miss. Week days up to 4pm best time to shop
