This is a FANTASTIC little Independent Coffee Shop tucked away in New London. It’s in an older industrial space with high ceiling & floor to ceiling windows: WONDERFULLY bright & airy! It’s got an eclectic funky art on the walls from local artists. The staff are FABULOUS: really kind, helpful, friendly & efficient. The coffees, teas, drinks & food are DELICIOUS. They have a wonderful selection of great quality coffee, espresso & tea drinks with tons of flavorings, milks, etc. They have fresh tasty pastries. They also have a huge variety of made to order egg sandwiches, sandwiches, paninis, salads, burritos, protein&grain bowls. They have great WIFI & nice big tables to lots of seating. They post art & other local events on the bulletin boards & even have a FREE BIN of new or gently used items for Customers. I absolutely LOVE this place. This is such a great little business. It’s SO important to support local businesses especially over the past several years during the Pandemic. Small businesses are a LABOR OF LOVE. They are your neighbors & an INTEGRAL part of the Community. So patronize this little place & ENJOY in their offerings & knowing your money is going back into your COMMUNITY!

Super friendly and mellow environment and the spicy miso pork soup is always my favorite! 🌶️🌶️. Picture also shows the Vermont sausage egg and cheese sandwich ❤️❤️❤️ Definitely recommend this place!

No sign. You are missing drive-by traffic and walkers. The building is easily found but it it not identifiable as a coffee shop. Plus the entrance is on the side near the back.

What a great coffee shop! Our family was passing through and stopped for breakfast. Nice cafe, friendly staff - the kind of place where regulars were coming in and the barista was greeting them by name and asking if they were having the usual :) We got a latte, a red-eye and a London fog, all great drinks. We had bagels & lox, which were awesome, piled high with salmon & fresh tomatoes and red onions. The molasses cookies were super soft and delicious. Such a little neighborhood treasure!

Love the atmosphere here. I try to come down once a week to escape my work from home life and enjoy some iced lavender tea and a delicious sandwich.

The best Latte in the area hands down! Great atmosphere, great staff and an absolutely solid dude of an owner. If you are looking for a great cafe to work out of in the area this place is a tie with Muddy Waters but I often alternate spots because I prefer Washington Street’s coffee.

I had, quite literally, the BEST cold brew and bacon egg&cheese. do yourself a favor and try the honey maple cold brew. everything is so delicious, consistent, and the staff is so friendly :)

Loved the atmosphere, food and coffee. Came to town to take a break from working from home. Great iced caramel latte and the Larry breakfast sandwich was delicious, my son loves it also definitely will be back.

Excellent vibes and atmosphere. Quality food. There was a super sweet little kids corner tucked in the back which kept our toddler perfectly entertained.

Drove two hours in the car with family of 6 prior to arrival. We were all looking forward to eating here. Restroom marked closed, but staff person promptly walks out of restroom. Person at front counter says sorry no restroom on site. We left, and gladly spent my money downtown instead.

I love the vibe of this coffee house. Great coffee, nice art, and a nice little green area inside as well as outside.

Online order will not accept any credit card and the staff will not answer the phone. Big waste of time choosing our order and then unable to order and funds held up.

The Barista suggested a really good cup of coffee...the atmosphere is nice with no loud music. The tables outside are nice for sitting and enjoying the weather. 😌

I stopped in here while visiting the area to get a morning pick me up. They have a parking lot and there were plenty of spots right out front the door. I was excited to see all the different drink options on the menu as well as the assortment of food! I got a drip coffee with a lavender flavor shot and a mocha. Both were very good and came out quickly. The inside was industrial and also had a lot of potted plants giving it a fun feel. There was also art on the wall for sale. The prices were a little expensive, $9 for the coffee and mocha, but still worth a visit for sure.

Amazing cold brew, very chill atmosphere. Service was friendly and the bagel was great. There’s a cute outdoor area too.

Been almost a year since I dined here. And Im again reminded why. I ordered the BLT. The B is pretty weak at only 2 slices of bacon. Seating was so sticky I had to put down my trusty packtowel as to not get shmutz on my jeans.

While on travel to NLON, discovered this amazing little corner of heaven in downtown New London. Delicious food, perfectly brewed coffee, and a friendly front desk makes this a must-go for all of my future trips to the area!

Great food. I got the chicken tacos. For the most part a great balance on the ingredients. The chicken was a bit dry and this does not combine well with the drying effect of soft goat cheese. Other than that they were fantastic. I did not try any coffee etc so I cannot speak to those. Nice quiet place with a lot of charm inside.

Visited for the first time and really enjoyed it. I dont go to Dunkin or Starbucks and I was happy to find out about this coffee shop. Nice atmosphere and delicious bagels.

We went here twice while staying in New London. The first time it was pretty okay I had a good bacon, egg and cheese.. The bacon was well cooked and I was happy.. We went back a few days after and I ordered the same thing bacon, egg and cheese, the bacon was underdone and I couldnt eat most of it so I was kinda disappointed.. The coffee is good and baked goods are okay but look better then they taste.. It was a quick easy breakfast and got the job done but seemed a bit sloppy when it came to flavor and consistency

Cute place, spacious, with what looked like a lot of local art on the walls. My latte was pretty good, though it could have been a little stronger - I would add an extra shot of espresso if I go back.

Delicious Iced Dirty Chai!

Beautiful place, amazing atmosphere, great food and awesome service. I got the blt and the ice chai latte, the sandwich was cooked beautifully and the drink was mixed to perfection. Will be back to try more of the menu, def one of my favorite spots.

Such a gem of a coffee shop. Quality coffees, espressos drinks, and teas. I’ve only had a few of their food items but I love the huevos rancheros!

Tried to give this place a second chance before I left a bad review. Customer service is extremely important and the first day I came, it lacked tremendously. The coffee was good though so I tried to give it another shot. The next morning I was ready for some coffee at 7am. (When they say they open). I walk in and the lady was extremely rude, told me she was running late and I needed to wait outside. Theres a way to talk to customers, and thats not it!

You walk in and immediately greeted by a smile and a nice atmosphere, the music is usually lo-fi and its perfect. The menu is wide and all good stuff. Good seating with outside seats.

This place is awesome! I do not even know where to begin. Everything on the menu is unique and from all the things I have tried, so delicious. They always get their ingredients fresh and have new stuff to try. My favorites on the menu is the pastrami and egg breakfast sandwich & the BLT with a fried egg. Everything I have had is good but those are my go to. The egg is cooked perfectly, the yolk isnt fully cooked to the point that its powder but it is also not super runny where it will drip everywhere when you bite into it. Also I am sure you can request your egg to be made however you please. The coffee choices are great but they also have a whole coffee bar if you wanna make it how you like it. The environment is very relaxing. They have a little stage area with kids toys if you wanna bring your little ones. The seating area is large for a coffee shop and a great place to bring friends, have a business meeting or even just hangout alone. I love coming here. Big beautiful windows to sit by and sip coffee while eating a delicious meal or just a snack. I highly recommend this place.

Nice place with a really calm ambiance. They have such a unique and tasty selection for food with equally unique selection for flavors of coffee. The man at the counter--whom I believe is Patrick--is always very friendly and willing to make suggestions. Great spot to relax and read.

The food is absolutely delicious. The roast beef sandwich is so good I would commit a crime for it if it asked me to. They have a full coffee menu as well with homemade flavor shots. I personally get the London Fog which is so freaking good.

Had coffee and second breakfast here. The grilled cheese was interesting sorry if a pesto and cheese mixture. Daughter enjoyed Thai veggie bowl, wife had an egg veggie dish. The egg sandwich is Elis favorite. The iced Chai latte I had was fine. I would go here again.

Cool coffee house with a interesting interior! The floor was made of small wood blocks, had an exposed wood beamed ceiling with large windows especially the front one. Beautiful and plentiful plants placed there. I had a iced white lavender tea which was great! The menu offers lots to choose from and the staff is friendly!

Foodwise I know a lot of people like it and its healthy choices but overall flavor is missing. Sorry. I want to like it more but come away disappointed. For example the raw cabbage could use just a little something. Too raw for my taste. 😞 And my food is never quite warm enough. But they do have Good Hot Coffee! and other fun hot and cold beverage offerings.

We ordered through DoorDash, got 2 bagels, a sandwich and some drinks. After taking a few bites of my bagel I realized that the cream cheese in the bagel was spoiled. I called the store and the man who answered the phone checked the cream cheese and realized it had gone bad. There was no apology or any kind of concern in his voice, he just said he doesn’t know how to refund the order since it was through DoorDash and proceeded to tell me he would contact them. However, the sandwich was good and we enjoyed the drinks. Would not recommend only because the customer service is terrible and not to mention they sell spoiled cream cheese.

I have been going here for years I have moved away from New London lived in Providence Rhode island in Portsmouth New Hampshire and now in Newport Rhode island anytime that I go into New London can I always make a stop here I have great coffee great snacks great food great people great literature great art on the walls love the ducks when you had those and just as an all-around great meeting spot to meet for work or to sit there and get work done or even to do an interview at this is a solid staple in the New London community and I see it being there and lasting for a really long time makes me happy every single time I go in and order a chai tea latte with espresso.

I love the open, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. The coffee is great and the food selection is good too. There is excellent free WiFi. Also, our toddler loves playing with the toys in the kids corner. Well be back soon!

Very nice place, plenty of options if you dont want just regular coffee, and all of them delicious and not too expensive. The food that they make always looks great and makes me so hungry. Their coffee was so dang good!! I wish there were more places like this

I tried the grilled cheese and it was delicious. The pesto and prosciutto really stepped up this classic. Their salted caramel is heavy on the salt, I liked that, but the bf didnt. He doesnt like salted caramel anyway so I wouldnt take his opinion too strongly. Their iced caramel mocha is heavy on the mocha, which you had to mix in yourself. It was almost too decadent for a drink.

This is not my favourite coffee house in U.S., but it is surely the best one in New London.Closes at 2 PM, no good seating options for working alone for a significant amount of time owing to the hard seats and lack of adequate space to stand and work (unless you are on the short side) the coffee is just OK, one barista always seems rude but maybe I am just imagining it. The fish tacos are really good.I rarely have a nice conversation with a random person here, the hipper-seeming clientele never want to talk, although I concede that this is increasingly common as more people today have poor face-to-face social skills owing to humanity being in the early stages of our transition to being cybernetic organisms. It would help if this cafe had a stronger online presence so that as we all become social media-empowered robots we can still reach out and interact with each other.My favourite thing about this place is the people cooking food in the back who are fun to talk with and have given excellent advice to me on many occasions about places to visit in and around town. Try the fish tacos!

Trendy coffee place with lots of seating, light, and plants

Ive changed this from 5 stars to 2 stars and now to 1 star. In the last year Ive been here about 7 times and the place is either closed or closing early. A few weeks ago they closed early, now today 1/18/20 they close at 4 pm on a Saturday when they are usually open until after 7 pm and at 4 have a good taco special. This place needs to keep regular business hours. When customers travel distances and expect the place to be open it is discouraging when they close early. I travel far and planed on doing work and having a coffee and some tacos, now my plan is shot. I own a cafe and we always keep regular hours, customers expect this. The owner or manager needs to schedule coverage when someone cant work, you dont close the business due to this....thats absurd? Ive seen them close early when there are 30 plus people here. Good way to lose customers, but I guess the owner could care less. If your staff keep calling out and cant cover those that are out then hire new staff, you dont close shop. Otherwise the place is great. Staff is friendly, relaxed atmosphere, food is great, large selection and they will custom some orders a little with no problems. Coffee is very good (cold brew with coffee ice cubes is my favorite w/ real half and half. Very bright and easy place to get some work done on your laptop. There are also tables outside, and wifi is pretty quick. Lots of seating. Reasonable prices. You should check it out, maybe they will be open when you get here.

The coffee and specialty drinks here are the best in New New London. They offer a good selection of breakfast items, sandwiches, and will make anything you ask to order if they have the ingredients. Often with live local music, this is a cool place to hang out, enjoy good food and people, or just grab your coffee to go.

I have been coming to this cafe since the day it opened and it just keeps on getting better. Some people might not like some of the things that make its charm but for those who are looking for a independent coffee shop its as good as it gets imo.(its mainly a coffee shop in name only as the food rivals some of the best restaurants in the area)

I love, love, LOVE Washington Street Coffee House! It is one of my favorite places to eat! The staff is always warm and welcoming and the food is outrageously delicious. I highly recommend the Miso soup. Its my favorite food in the world! 😘🍜

This place has good tea, good sandwiches and good baked goods. The only downside is not all of the cooks do things the same way so sometimes your scone will be nice and browned, other times itll be doughey inside. Sometimes your bagel sandwich will be toasted outside and inside, other times itll be a warmed up bagel with some eggs and cheese inside. But most of the time the food is great and the atmosphere is serene.Also the women at the counter arent rude. Theyre just people who dont force themselves to smile constantly. If they were dudes there would not be any complaints. Ive never been treated badly by them.

Pretty good spot in downtown New London for a quality cup of coffee, wifi access, and some breakfast food or a snack. My mom and I went here for breakfast on her birthday on a recent Sunday morning and were able to find seating with no hassles. There is a combination of booth and table seating, so you may find yourself sharing a table with another party. Food is reasonably priced, and expect to find yourself in the same price range as a diner

My girlfriend and I had a very short amount of time in between errands and decided to stop here. Hannah took our order. We both got egg sandwiches. I added an egg to mine and a tomato. She added a different dressing and ask for her eggs to be over easy. When we received our food I didnt have the extra egg or the tomato. Both of our sandwiches had eggs that were over hard. My girlfriend chose to just eat hers anyway while I went up for my tomato and egg. When I receive the sandwich the egg was over easy. I did not want an over easy egg and assumed it would be over hard since the other three eggs were even though my girlfriend asked for over easy. When I went up for a refund because we ran out of time and had to go she explain to us that all of the eggs come over easy, although the other three had not, despite one sandwich being ordered that way.

Their egg and cheese sandwich is really delicious. I would recommend getting it on one of their homemade bagels. Also, the environment is comfortable and a great spot for bringing a laptop, getting some work done, and enjoying a delicious coffee.

This is my families favorite spot to stop for an afternoon pick me up. Food is always good and the coffee drinks are the best in New London. The baked goods section is kind of lacking compared to other local places, but the fresh food and drinks mentioned above make up for it.Also they run a taco special for dinner Friday and Saturday that cant be beat.

Washington Street Coffee is my first stop when I come into town and the last when Im headed out... I only wish I had a place this amazing in my own neck of the woods. Delicious food items always made fresh and usually local and their Coffee/Espresso drinks are top notch

They have top notch food with reasonable prices for the high quality food you receive. Owner & staff are people oriented & down to earth and they have fast WiFi and a good atmosphere. You cant beat it and you get one free refill on your coffee.This establishment allows you to bring your dog or cat inside and its BYOB! You cant beat it!

This is one of my absolute favorite places to hang out. Their food is great and I love their tea :) Its a cozy environment with down to earth people and its a nice contrast compared to most corporate owned coffee shops. The fast and free wifi and board games they have is a lovely bonus, especially on a rainy day.

This is a great place to go to study and have a nice meal but it has its flaws. The staff is pretty grumpy and doesnt offer a welcoming environment. The bathroom was pretty gross, it doesnt look like it has been cleaned in awhile and the parking is terrible.
