First of all let me start by saying I’m a white choclate lover !!!!! I usually go to the Dollar General store on Colman Street in New London ct. because they usually have the White chocolate M&Ms which I am a fan of !! Well the other day I went into this location to get my candy and couldn’t find them anywhere 😱! So I asked the clerk who always helps me Caroline if they are out ? She dropped what she was doing and looked for them she finally spotted them behind the counter I was one happy customer!! Now Caroline went above and beyond for a customer which makes her AWESOME in my book !! Also the cashier Lauren was so helpful too

Ughhh....🙄I genuinely tried not to give a one ⭐ review but DG legitimately EARNS it, consistently. Not only is the service deplorable, but the last time I was there, (it was freezing outside) the store had no heat on!!I asked the unfortunate young man who had to ring me up wearing his gloves, coat and his hat on, why the store was so cold. He looked at his co-worker, LAUGHED and said Because the owners are too cheap to turn the heat on. I was stunned 🤯.Definitely not an employee friendly or customer friendly environment. Do better, Dollar General!

First time visiting this location, the Manager Jenn was amazing, friendly and courteous very helpful. Definitely coming back found some great little gifts for my sons teacher. They have great variety of items. They just need more employees to help the management she has a lot on her hands, trust me she can handle it but some help will be great like that people dont have to wait to long for help. Besides that awesome store.

Thank you to the two young men working the night of 5/1/2020. It was 8:58 and they were closing at 9. I ran in as their night was ending. Not only were they patient and friendly, but just a simple gesture of not making me feel like they were bothered was very appreciated. Such a small gesture but that kindness made my night!

The reception at the checkout was wonderful. I was greeted with a genuine smile. The cashier informed me of the benifits of shopping there. I was in a line of about five, yet with her patience and kindness, I left there a happy camper. I do not know her name but I hope she is there on my next visit.

People arent professinal or Welcoming there and dont sound like theyre not very educated how they treated me. Its not good. I do nothing there but seprate transations because not enough on my bank card.... Not my fault. An associate blaming me Just now saying its Cuz of you Rebecca. I let people talk and i give them a chance she said dont give people a chance to talk not true. Im not continuing a Conversation with a Very Rude Associate. Being Rude To a customer is Not Right And I dont Deserve that.!!!! Justice will be served. No Customer Deserves an Associate to be rude them you shouldnt get aAway with that at DG either Well that Person will be Spoken to when Im Done...I deserve nothing but a Friendly Welcoming Experience at Dollar General. And Not Rude bad ones.... No its really there Fault because they Dont know To work the card or gift card machine I saw them and their Trouble...Them blaming me Is Not Good. No reason for the snappy Attitudes. Hope it gets closed....... theres one in waterford i can go to maybe ill change but not giving up shopping at Dollar General. I love Dollar General. Please give this store another chance! Ive been going since it opened. Ill be honest it was a disaster. A complete mess. I called in the summer time and spoke with the district manager about my concerns. He said please be patient while changes are being made and I agreed. I waited and stopped going for a few months because workers were extremely rude when you asked questions. I went back recently in the last week and was actually greeted in a friendly manner. The store looked AMAZING! Granted items still seemed missing. But change has happened. Its more organized. The new manager actually listens to concerns. And seems to care. Ill be back weekly as I used to be.Updating 7/20Removing my 5 stars and going back down to a 2New management again...store is again a disaster. One person working the register. Items once again not available to purchase. Its college back to school time again. Limited items..purchasing on Amazon .

The new staff at this location is great. The cashier even gathered a few items I was looking for while I looked for other items. I had a terrible experience here years ago but this new staff makes up for it. I will definitely shop here again!!

Good pleasent people

Good place to do simple shopping. Really like this store! And those who complained about “clutter” are just negative people. I mean come on is it really necessary? Do you all have a job?? Anyway you can’t please everyone. I love the store though!

Place was a wreck, hard to find anything. The stuff that was in the right place was adequate at best. But saying such, it is a dollar store.

Slow service, mostly unprofessional. DG has consistent products and pricing. This particular store has an issue with hiring unfortunately.

I really like shopping at Dollar General because the prices are fair. They also sell groceries. Clothing. Hair products. Plenty of parking space. Great store.

You can get some great buys, especially on toys.

They had everything I wanted! This particular Dollar General was busy and they opened another register to expedite the line.Well done

This store had a little of everything. Even holiday and home decor.

I have to say sense Toby has become the store manager that has been a huge difference!! He will go out of his way to help every customer that walks through the door! The employees of the store are much nicer that prior and all very welcoming and always offer help finding things. Also Toby has made sure that my dogs food is in stock at all times and saves me a trip to Walmart. Thank you!!!

Store is once again a complete disaster...things always look good when a * new manager* happens. But back to the old ways. Signs misplaced..shelves empty..items not available.

Still now fighting with my bank because I left with nothing & a minus $44 on my account. What is going to happen with that???? As if someone cares

Every time I go there the store is a mess. I believe she was the manager (heavy girl with brown hair) that I was dealing with, but she was not only rude to myself, other customers, but her employees as well. Its a TOTAL shame because if it wasnt for her, I would continue to shop there, but this wasnt an isolated incident, she has been rude and has had a poor customer relations in previous visits to the store. Maybe I will try back in a few months and see if maybe higher management has other issues with her and fired her or with any luck she quit. Other than the manager keeping a messy store, having a bad additude and poor customer relations, I generally like the store. Great prices.

COVID-19 issues: Employee(s) not wearing masks and ~4 feet from patrons, about 1/4 of patrons not wearing masks and going w/in 2 of another patron, not keeping #s of patrons down, not wiping high-touched surfaces often enough that it was seen in the ~25 minutes I was there, etc.

Not sure how old this store is but it looks like 10 yrs old which Im sure it is not! The place was filthy, boxes and items all over the floor making it difficult to walk never mind push a carriage. Only saw 2 employees and neither asked if we needed assistance. Left empty handed. Wont return.

Its a great place to shop it has a little of everything that a person or persons need also the staff are great.

Dollar General reminds one of the old general store with a little of everything and at a reasonable price. The reason for 3 stars is I have gone to this store several times and it always looks like they are just putting stock on the shelves.
