Johnny has custom built two desks for me over then years, both of which are absolutely first rate quality pieces. For both (a writing desk and an adjustable standing desk), I was able to design with him from scratch, and along the way he kept me advised of progress while allowing me to make decisions about the design. The results more than exceeded my very high expectations. Grade A++++ for a real professional.

Johnny can do anything and he does it right. I strongly recommend hiring him to restore your antiques. You wont be able to tell it was repaired or added onto! Im not sure how he accomplishes this, its very impressive. He has magic woodworking skills and hes a pleasure to work with!

Johnny made the dining table I inherited from my mother look like new with a beautiful finish while keeping the original integrity. He also created a piece for extra support of the additional leaves to the long table. In the past he designed and built a pair of lovely dressers to fit in a hard to fit area in our bedroom. He recently finished a pretty cabinet in our powder room. He is a true artisan and his work is flawless.

I called and gave information with pictures of repairs I needed done. I was told it would take half a days work and it would be $250.00.They arrived at 9:15am. Did a fairly poor job filling a chip on an antique highboy. Other minor touch ups and some areas that needed fill, sanded and finished on a chair. The fill in one area still shows a dimple, otherwise the minor finish touch ups on same chairs were fine.They finished the job and were leaving st 10:15am. 1 hour after they arrived. When I asked what I owed him he said we agreed on $250.00. I was quite shocked. I wrote the check which he asked to be written to ‘Cash’. As I handed it to him I said I thought it would less since the $250.00 was for a half days work not an hour. His assistant said well we started loading up our equipment at 8:15.Ok... so from 8:15 to 10:15 when they left was 2 hours. I always thought a half days work would mean 4 hours.I feel like I was taken advantage of and would highly recommend you get an hourly rate from this guy or you will end up paying a lot of money for very little time spent doing the repairs. In addition, there is a stain on the fabric which is a brand new chair. It is an S code fabric which means it has to be cleaned with a dry cleaning solvent. I will contact him on Monday, and expect him to come back out and remove the stain without ruining the fabric or I will expect him to pay to have the chair reupholstered and it’s very expensive fabric. We will see how honest he is.Just how I feel.
