I love this place. But today had some shockingly rude service!Don’t think people don’t notice when you treat them that way!And You better check what side your bread is buttered on!

First time seller. Left happily with $25 cash in my pocket. Staff was very nice and informative. I had several high-end items that they weren’t able to offer me the price I was hoping for. Instead of just saying no, they gave me advice on where I could try and sell it for the amount I was hoping for. They informed me on the process and were patient with me and my questions. They thanked me for bringing my items in. I would come back to buy/sell again.

Love this shop! A good mix of vintage and new clothes. The shop is organized and easy to peruse. You can only go into the dressing room once, so look through the whole store before you try on. Staff is nice and helpful. There are a lot of cute things to look at, and everything is different.

Ive always liked Buffalo Exchange. Once time I even scored a basically brand new Lululemon sports bra. They often have items that would work with the different holidays and parades too, which is nice.I finally brought three large tote bags to sell for my first time. I made an appointment online and it was super easy. The manager sorted through my items and she was quick and friendly. They took almost of my designer items, such as Madewell and Paige Denim. They did not take any target, tag-less, or old navy items. They also took almost all of my boyfriends clothing. It seems they only want items they can turn around quickly so it makes sense stuff you could also get in Goodwill they dont want to take. I was offered $80 store credit or $40 cash. Quite a large difference but if youre trying to downsize the cash is nice. I will definitely be back to sell.

Only good if you’re a size Small or Medium. Used to be my go-to but the last few years the L/XL is about 1/8 of their stock. Okay to sell stuff, just pay attention to what they’re looking for and make an appointment!

Probably won’t ever be back to this store. I’m from out of town and thought the prices were way over priced for used items BUT they were cute and I needed some nice stuff to wear for dinner— I was in the store for about 30min so as I had a arm full of clothes I walked to a corner of the store and I quickly pulled my mask down to breath (I have BAD asthma so I have to take ‘breath breaks’ sometimes lol) one of the workers came by and said I must keep my mask up at all times... keep in mind this was a matter of 1-2 mins in the corner of the store... I said I’m sorry, I was just taking a breather bc my asthma is bad right now. He nodded and went on his way and I went on with my shopping... 5min later a manger comes over to me and tells me I must keep my mask all the way up the whole time... I told her I understand but walking this amount of time I just need to take a breather for A min away from everyone. She said it wasn’t allowed and I’d have to leave...So I put all my stuff on a shelf and left.I’m sorry but it’s May of 2021... they need to train their staff to be a little more lenient IMO. I wore my mask... I kept it over my face... I just needed to breath for a moment in the corner of the store by myself.

Although the customer service is great and they are organized, I dont think Ill be going back to buffalo exchange. Its a certain type of item they will buy from you and that limits what youll get money for. Its like theres a selling dress code. I feel like if the items are in good shape, you should be able to sell them for something. If your items are accepted, the percentage you get for cash is down right insulting. Great place if you have a lot of vintage clothes to sell. Seems to be all they look for.

I was visiting New Orleans got the week with family. Took my brother here and we were followed the whole time. My brothers mask was a bit too big and kept falling below his nose. A worker notice it had slipped down and instead of asking my brother nicely he yelled “MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR MASK UP” in a nasty tone and placed his hand in my brother face. I immediately put everything back I was about to purchase and we left. We received poor costumer service the moment we entered. Followed like I was a thief. I will never go back or recommend. Also prices too high for some items.

I have been a customer of this store for years now, both as a seller of my clothing to them and a buyer of their items. The staff is ALWAYS helpful and friendly, the store is always clean and well-organized, and the buyers have a great eye for a very eclectic and diverse stock, very fair pricing and great sales. What impressed me the most is I left New Orleans two years ago for a job in Georgia, got back a month ago, and as soon as I walked in, Denise, the manager, remembered me by name instantly even though I look completely different than I did then. The personal, neighborhood feel means a great deal, I dont just feel like an anonymous consumer there.

Theres a few cool things here, but not only is the mens section comically small compared to the womens, its definitely overpriced because of its trendy location on Magazine Street. l dont know why anyone would spend $30 on a shirt here when they could get 3 or 4 shirts for that price at Red White & Blue... probably because most of the vegan/hippy customers here never leave the Garden District and have no idea what a deal looks like.Also: staff wont let you try clothes on in the store (presumably due to the panicdemic), but you can step right outside the store after you buy something, try it on, and come right back in and return it if it doesnt fit... Just adds to the nonsense of this place.

The staff here is great and extremely mindful of their customers’ experience. Britty especially was so helpful and patient!

Great selection of clothing. Some great vintage and designer brands for less. Some things were over priced but otherwise very good stuff.

I don’t live in New Orleans but love to visit this store when I’m in town. I couldn’t buy anything because they wouldn’t let me try on anything, but they would let me try it on at my house and return it. When I tried to explain to the employees why I couldn’t try them on at home and return them, they were rude and rolled their eyes at me. Seems like they are making policies based on fear and not logic and they will lose customers and money because of this. They lost $100 today from me because I couldn’t buy anything. It’s a shame.

Dont take anything there to sell.. They say that they only take up to date cloths. The cloths on the racks are not up to date. Theyre employees are rude. They employee young college kids that dont know what designer cloths are. They think Gap is designer. Looks like a thrift store.

A place of thieves, the most disgusting service in the world! I went there to put my clothes out of money, those of poor people to buy expensive clothes, I dont even care how much I should get. The manager of the place is the most underrated person and has no human attitude. She talks in a nasty and threatening way. I asked for a receipt that they sent me the money (because I didnt receive any of them) and she just screamed at me and hung up my cellphone. Of course everything is recorded and my lawyer is already in action. I wouldnt recommend throwing this manager in nowhere!

Customer service is repeatedly terrible. First with bringing clothes in to exchange and the other to purchase a two piece suit. I was picking up the suit for a friend and did not have my ID. The key girl was unwavering with her not allowing me to make the purchase. This is why it will be easy for robots to take jobs. They too will be unwavering but wont require a paycheck.. what a bind we have been put in unexpectedly not being able to get this suit before 12pm. Will not recommend or return.

I been buying and selling at this store for a while and this one paticular manager by the name of Denise always has a very nasty attitude.She has skipped over.me several times in the last two weeks as I sit in front the store waiting to sell.One customer told her I was next to sell and she refuse to take my items. This is not the place to do business.They need better managers with better attitudes. I asked Denise if it was someone I can speak with besides her and she told me no you can speak with me I am a manager.i just got my things and left.

Clothes are outdated and shoes are scuffed up and dingy. Overpriced as well. $17 for used house shoes. No thanks

Love it! Beautiful spacious store filled with a huge variety of styles and sizes. The staff is friendly and helpful. I put together a lot of costumes, and buffalo exchange always has something that brings it all together. Then when I find that my home is overrun by all of the cloths I couldn’t resist, I just sell ‘em back to Buffalo Exchange, and for a brief moment, I feel like I have control over my life.

The best staff you could ever find. I personally know how in depth there application process is from experience. Theres three screenings to get employed here and youre lucky if you make it to the third because its very selective. Their selection is usually up with the trend and you can always find clothes based on local events or holidays like Halloween or a local favorite White Linen Night. Their pricing leans more towards a typical clothing store like Forever 21 rather than a thrift store but you can usually always leave with a good find. I often times sell my clothes to the store but when selling you should cater to what the store would like to buy. Nothing old-fashioned, raggedy, or stained because they usually keep everything up to date on fashion. Would definitely suggest taking a trip here when passing through Magazine Street. Its in a perfect location

They have fantastic clothes and accessories for just about everyone. They carry used name brand clothing and accessories that are in great condition. My grand daughters loved it.

Sometimes find some good stuff and staff is super nice but be aware this is an expensive thrift store. On average items cost around $20 and the tshirts cost around $12-15... i got three items and it cost around $56 which isn’t exactly a bargain.

They have a great selection of funky and fashionable clothes! I went in for some more conservative options (job interviews), and I was worried theyd only have sparkly hipster clothes. I was so wrong! They have a GREAT selection of clothes! And good pricing!

Some things can be a little pricey for used clothes. They seemed to have changed what clothes they accept now. Apparently they are now moving towards more grungy/hipster looking clothing, just beware before selling. Before they always accepted my clothes. Oh well. If youre already on Magazine its worth a look, but nothing to go out of your way for.

Understand, you make a purchase, you own it... no refund once you walk out. In store credit only and thats only up to 5 days after purchase..... Even if the item is tagged incorrectly on their part..It is posted. !Still, cool threads....

Outstanding, constantly updating selection. Tons of mens clothes in all sizes to sift through. Nice accessories, lots of changing rooms, and the amount of clothes to choose from is large but not overwhelming. All the clothes are super hip and trendy and sold at a fair, not cheap price, reflecting the quality. Worth it every time.

Adored this place! Although I didnt purchase anything today, I loved the atmosphere and the wide selection! Must go if you love these types of stores.

Everyone who works here is always really helpful and attentive. They usually will help you know if an outfit looks bad or not too. I love going there.

Fantastic! Great mix of modern and vintage with a huge selection. By far the cheapest vintage in New Orleans. Everything was in good shape too. Nothing was too beat up either.

Very very bad experience... Went in to sell my brand new shoes that were kinda tight but could not return to the store. And before even looking up the shoe she said nope its fake cant take them... So i asked my girl friend who is white to see what they would tell her an what do you know they were very nice and gave her a offer.. she refused an let them Know about everything that was said to me they to apologise to her but the damage has been done... So IF you are of color AN if you want to shop here have someone white with you PERIOD.

Last week I tried to sell a good amount of barely worn clothes to Platos Closet and they rejected everything except a brand new pair of heels. Platos gave me $3 for them, even though they still had tags on them.. A coworker suggested I try Buffalo exchange. Im really glad I did. The store seemed organized and clean. The staff went through my things right away and bought a lot of the items Plato rejected. They offered me $44 of store credit or $25 in cash. Thats better than anything Platos has ever offered me. The staff was very nice to my almost 4 year old son and even gave him a sticker and temporary tattoo! I was in and out within less than 15 minute. I will be going back next week, this time without my little boy so I can actually shop!

Horrible customer service, I arrived to this store, to sell some Jordans, I had just brought, the shoes from foot locker ( still in the box)as soon as I showed the lady, my shoes, she didnt even check to see if their were real! She looked at me, told me, its been a long week of fake shoes and told me, my shoes, probably is fake, after now talking to her manager,and confirming my shoes was real, she didnt even apologize. She just offered me $10 cash on some, brand new$200 shoes, I wore three times, like new

Used to love this store, not quite as much anymore. They have a nice variety of gently used clothing items, but I find many are over priced considering they are still used - mostly without tags. Every once in a while you will find a bargain though. Was a favorite several years ago, not so much anymore.

SELLERS BE AWARE. The staff are rude. They don’t even pretend they have an attitude. The price they give is INSULTING. Would never come again.

This store may be small, but their selection is not. There were some great vintage pieces as well as modern boutique items. My husband and I found some amazing deals!

The customer service has changed. Unfortunately :( Ive been a customer there since their old location. Hopefully in the future I can write a better review. Ill try again.

Horrible customer service. General manager gave me a check for my buy and didnt tell me they bank with Bank of America which isnt in the state of Louisiana well the closets one to New Orleans is over 200 miles away and thats just an ATM. I called the store and they told me there was nothing that they could do. I explained I was only visiting from Atlanta and I needed to go home. I mean I literally drove to nine check cashing places and they wouldnt accept Buffalo Exchange Check cause it bounced before. Why issue checks if The person cant cash it? I love buffalo exchange but the New Orleans location really let me down

The staff is snobby. I took 2 bags of clothing that had never been worn and they told me that they only want clothes that were gently used or not used at all. When I explained that my bag was full of clothes that fit that description, they shunned me. It was embarrassing.

Its pretty pricey for a used clothing place. I was looking for jeans, thinking I could get something cheap. $25 is a lot for jeans that someone else has worn! I was kind of expecting Goodwill prices since its essentially the same concept. Heard they dont pay much for stuff you bring in to sell.
