We moved into a new home that had an existing older Trane unit with some minor issues. GHAC came in and fixed an outdoor overflow leak that the previous owner said existed for years, cleaned up some things and set us up on a maintenance plan so we could receive the repair at a discount and get the most life out of the unit in the years to come. Arrived on time, courteous and answered all of our questions.
Maurice was positivity wonderful. He explained in detail each thing he was doing and how the system actually operates. He is extremely knowledgeable and got all three of our systems serviced thoroughly and neatly. Thank you for sending Maurice our way. We will certainly look forward to seeing him in the future.
Honest worker, gave me the details of what he had to check and do. Found a possible freon leak. Used a dye in the new freon and returned 4 days later to check on the possible leak. It was discovered in a coil installed in 2013, but the warranty was up in 2018. Will return to replace the coil as soon as possible.
I had 2 - 3 ton units removed and replaced. The installation crew was very professional, courteous and kept the house very clean. They put down tarps to protect the banister and stairs inside and they swept and cleaned outside. They showed up on time and even got along great with my dog. The crew members were very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Great job guys! Thanks!
We have used this company for years and they do a great job. Some of the technicians are better than others, but they are all excellent. Most recently Jeff came to solve a problem with our air-conditioning and he was like Sherlock Holmes looking at dust samples in vents to figure out the problem and solve it. Brilliant!
A good place to work
GHAC installed my unit (replacement) originally and I have had a service contract with them for several years (thankfully they have a very professional and efficient office staff to ensue I schedule my visits timely!). My technician, Ron, is always professional, pleasant and genuinely concerned that our system runs at maximum capacity for maintaining our comfort. He always calls and arrives when scheduled, is very helpful when explaining what needs to be done and why, and always proactive to try and avoid possible emergency issues down the road that would keep us without our cooling system due to mechanical breakdowns. Overall we are very happy knowing Ron is taking care of our systems so our systems can take care of us.

General Heating and Air is outstanding. Their representatives always come on time, call before the come and explain what they plan to do. We have an annual contract with them that is very reasonable. They come twice a year and check everything out inside and outside. They remind us every six months when our check-up is due and make arrangements and appointments as when they will come. I new they were professional when they came to my home the first time. Before they entered the house they put on shoe booties to prevent dirt on the floors and carpet. Great company and personnel. Good company, good people. Weve been using them for 4 or 5 years. Their service techs have always been courteous, knowledgeable, and able to solve the problems weve experienced so far. When we ask questions the techs take the time to answer to our satisfaction. Just today Ron was dispatched to help us with our furnace. He explained how the furnace cycles through its startup which helped us understand what we were experiencing.

I recently used GHAC to install a new AC compressor and condenser plus furnace. The experience was overall very positive, from pricing (for a good-quality Daikin system, thousands of dollars lower than similar systems that I was quoted by other companies for Trane, Lennox etc.) I worked with Bryan on the quote and project management, and he was highly professional in all respects. Communication was prompt and thorough throughout the process, and I did not feel pressured in any way. The installation was scheduled quickly and went very smoothly; the installers were neat and polite and left my house in great shape. I was very happy with this company.
Jeffrey, the technician, was prompt, courteous and focused. I would definitely recommend using General Heating for all of their A/C needs, I have a very specific type of A/C system (chilled water system)..and was very impressed with his knowledge and his level of competence in servicing my unit. Shortly after, I referred a real estate client to use this company and again..they sent a technician to service a home..and he too was trained and very knowledgeable about this homes A/C unit.
General Heating and Air sent Ron out to service my system and also installed an Air Scrubber. With my family’s allergies it has been a wonderful addition to our life. We’ve had less problems with allergies and odors as it has increased the indoor air quality in our home. Ron was very professional, called before he arrived and left my home as clean as it was as when he arrived. We highly recommend having an Air Scrubber installed to anyone’s home if you deal with pet dander, allergies and the like.

He immediately made me feel good about my experience.! I signed a maintenance contract based on his excellent service! Highly reccomend these guys!
Terrible experience and customer service. Looking to replace my A/C system and called to have someone come out and give me a quote. They were responsive and offered to send someone out the same day, and the guy called ahead of time - overall, all pretty professional. It went downhill from there as the guy showed up, was incredibly rude, lectured me, and after I calmly explained that I understood how an A/C system worked (as by this point, I had already spent several hours researching online and talking with other companies) told me in an extremely arrogant tone: “Well, if you knew this then I wouldn’t be here and you’d have a cool house, now wouldn’t you?” I realize I may not know as much as a “professional”, but it’s just rude (not to mention poor salesmanship) to treat potential customers like this. On top of this, he also told me that I didn’t need a new system, it was “just dirty and would work fine when clean”, but that “you’ll never get the upstairs cooler than 78 degrees”.
A/C breaking in August in New Orleans is no fun. The team at General handled the situation professionally and courteously. Our service tech, Paul, was outstanding in keeping us informed throughout the process.Thanks Guys! We are cool and happy once again....

We live in a house that has two separate AC systems and evidently when the previous owner was preparing it for sale did the bare minimum to make sure the AC/heating systems were functioning. General Heating and AC has rescued us and done what needed to be done each time. We have had work done on both the AC systems and the furnace. In times when more repairs needed to be done or when a part didnt work out they came right back and made sure everything was working the way it should. We have never had to sit around in the hot or cold because General Heating is always on the job! The gentlemen who work there are very nice and friendly and do their best while melting in the heat outside or in the attic to keep us cool and happy. I recommend them to everyone!

Service is reliable and good. However, emailed invoice has print so tiny it is difficult to read. Several phone calls to fix but no avail. When requested, they do send a readable copy via regular mail. Still, its annoying. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars.
I had a good experience with one of my technicians, but the rest of them were impersonal and I questioned their service ever since they broke my AC on a hot summer day during a routine maintenance. I recently tried to understand why I was getting charged a weekend fee when they were supposed to call me back to fix my AC and it died within several days of me trying to get them out. Customer service at their office is horrible. Try another AC place first.

General Heating & Air Conditioning just replaced my HVAC system with a 5-ton Daikin FIT system and i could not be more pleased. From the salesman Bryan Hale to the installation supervised by Randy, the entire process was hassle free. The installation was more complicated than expected, but Randy and his crew didnt miss a beat and had us up and running in no time. The system works great and I highly recommend both General Heating & Air Conditioning and the Daikin FIT system.
Our A/C was broken so we called General. They charged us $84 to come and tell us that it was low on Freon. offered to put more Freon in for an additional $300. We asked them if they could check for a leak and they said that would be $500. Or could clean the coil for $1200-$1500. Sent them away and found someone else who does diagnostics AND leak finding for $74. Stay away from these people--theyre trying to steal your money.
Dont use this company unless you have a lot of time to waste just sitting around. I waited for them to show up for a scheduled appointment for an estimate. My appointment was for 12 pm (during my lunch break). At around 1 pm I called because they didnt show and I had not heard from them. I was given excuses; they told me I was next and someone should be here shortly. Two hours after my scheduled appointment I called back and canceled when I was told they were to busy and they wanted to reschedule my appointment for another day. I cant speak for their actual work but I can say they definitely do not have good customer service!!!
Waited all day for them but was able to get service and didnt feel beat.
I had wonderful service on my replacement AC install. They even corrected identified and corrected issues from the original installers.
What can I say, the customer service was excellent. They were prompt and on time and the service I received from the tech was nothing short of excellence!
