Andrea is a magician... she repaired both of my old delicate pieces. The first pictured below was very badly rippled & torn, the second a fragile pastel was also torn & needed removing from an ancient & rotting wood frame. You can hardly see where they were repaired. She also did them for me quickly which I needed for shipping them, ahead of time. Can not recommend her highly enough!
I have been using Andrea Pitschs paper conservation services for five years. Shes been able to repair and save things where previous conservation efforts have not succeeded. Her rates are reasonable, work is always completed promptly to the highest standard, and she is forthright and honest in what she can, and equally importantly, cannot accomplish. I trust her skills and her judgment completely when it comes to conserving and preserving works on paper, from high-value works of art by modern masters to more modest pieces.
Andrea Pitsch is extremely qualified. I gave her two old etchings that are over 30 years old which were in terrible condition. She restored them beautifully. I am amazed by the results. Thank you for doing such a fabulous job!!!
If you enjoy being talked down by a stuck up, egotistical, individual please see Andrea. The interaction with her reeked of someone of privilege. I felt as if I should be thanking her that I would ask to have a piece restored by her. At one point, I politely asked if she knew of any framers in the 5 boroughs who would had experiencing in framing. Her response? I have a list of framers, but I will keep that information from you, unless you pay me to restore your piece. If you enjoy being spoken down to as if youre an idiot and treated like a lesser being, go see Andrea. If you value respect and common decency, keep moving. She cant talk to you as if youre a normal human being.Rude, arrogant, and condescending. Thats Andrea.
Andrea Pitsch Conservation has been my go-to source for years, a real art world find. Andrea does meticulous work and I have always been pleased with the results. Its a pleasure working with her.
Andrea masterfully restored a Muybridge print for me. This was my 1st experience with picture restoration and I had no idea what to expect or how much of the foxing and water stains could be removed. Andrea was very cautious in promising too much more than she can make it look better. Total undersell. She was able to pretty much remove everything (it is not perfect now, but its pretty close). The print looks amazing and I would absolutely use her again.
Amazing to work with Andrea to heal our beloved pieces of art. Highly recommend.
Andrea is one of the finest paper conservationists in the country. She has done conservation work for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, Sothebys, Christies, etc. She has worked on dozens of prints for me over the past 15+ years - from Old Masters to contemporary. Each time, she has at a minimum met my expectations, but more often, she meaningfully exceeds them. She loves what she does and it is apparent in her work. No job is too small and she is always completely transparent in assessing what she believes she can (and cannot) accomplish. You can place absolute trust in Andrea to care for your works on paper whether they be worth a few hundred or a few hundred thousand dollars. She is one of the best.
A few weeks ago I spilled water on some old family letters and diplomas, heirlooms. I was so upset. A friend in the art business told me to call Andrea because she can fix anything made of paper. There was more going on than I realized! Andrea explained to me that the letters had damaging tapes on them, Scotch tape and some kind of brown paper tape that was going to ruin the documents eventually. I just got my things back last week and they look so great. The old tapes are gone, the tears are repaired and the waviness from the water is gone. Everything looks better than I remember. I’m telling all my friends and clients to go to Andrea if they need a paper doctor!
I have brought many things to Andrea over the years and I have never once been short of amazed at what she can do. She has given new life to things I thought were hopelessly destroyed: a valuable print whose surface was was gouged and scratched when it fell off the wall and the glass in its frame broke, some of my kids old drawings and other sentimental items which were in our storage unit when it flooded, my dads college diploma which was crumpled due to careless storage and which I was sure was a goner. She has a true affinity for paper and it shows in everything she says and does. I was surprised to see a bad google review and so felt compelled to write this. I HIGHLY recommend her!!
Her work is always meticulous, and her team is tremendous!
Thank you so much, Andrea, for your patience and perfectionism!
