Among the various supplies IWS stocks up on is mask latex, Silicone, Epoxy Resin, Gelatin, Clay, Bandages, Ultracal or Gypsum Stone, Lab Tools, and more equipment and supplies.

These guys are great! I placed my order before noon and it was already on a truck by 2pm. The packaging was some of the best Id ever seen, and they even wrote a thank you note on the invoice, and while that might not seem like much, I think it was a nice touch. Ill definitely be shopping here again!

This store, while alright wasnt the type of art supplies store I was looking for. It didnt have anything I want or need. If you ask me, youre better off going to Michaels instead.

This place is the place to go if you want any kind of specialized modeling or molding compound in NYC, they definitely have the best selection around. However, my personal experience getting help and advice with a project from their sales assistants was terrible, and they were either out of or had low stock of everything I wanted.I came in a couple of weeks ago to purchase some sort of compound for a project that would let me create large fake blocks of ice with objects imbedded in them. I didnt know exactly what to get and I talked to three different sales assistants, all of whom had a different opinion, and they finally called someone who I assume was the manager out of the back and he told me to get a specific product (smooth-on sorta clear 40), of which I bought two large kits. The product I initially wanted to get I was talked out of, everyone insisted it couldnt be unmolded and would fall apart instantly (encapso-k).Needless to say the product they sold me looked terrible and was completely unusable, I wasted $140 on one kit and returned the other one the next day and bought all of the the encapso-k they had, which wasnt a lot since they were low in stock. It worked perfectly and looked amazing and I had no trouble with unmolding or stability. I also checked the encapso-k website later and they have a video tutorial where they put an inclusion inside some encapso-k and then unmold it and carve it to look like a block of fake ice!I hope that someone else can learn from my expensive lesson: do your own research first because the experts in the shop do not necessarily know all.

Great place for artists. Compleat Sculpture had all items I needed for my sculpturing project. Great recommendations from manager/owner. Employees were very nice and helpful. They are plastic bag free, so make sure you have a bag for your purchase. At the time of my visit, Compleat Sculpture shared building space and they were located downstairs. I am not sure if they had access to an elevator. They are located in Chelsea area of New York City. According to Compleat Sculptures website, they had a red awning/flag, however, as of October 2019, the awning/flag was black. Parking in front of store was a challenge. Store was walking distance from subway.

The first time I visited Compleat Sculptor I was attending a life casting class by the amazingly talented Josh Turin. The staff there are both friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Ive gone back for two other classes taught by Mr. Turin, and I plan on going back for more. It is one of my fave stores, and THE ONLY place to go for sculpting materials and materials for sfx prosthetic makeup effects.

There is an extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff member called Sarah Petrick who is the main reason we take our business to this store and dont shop online or elsewhere. When you shop here you are not only presented with a breadth of casting materials but more importantly access to some of the best experts in the field. We have presented many a problem to Sarah and they have been answered with enthusiasm, and great solutions! If you havent been to Compleat Sculptor you have to go - its the best!

As an artist in the tri-state area, the complete sculptor is an incredibly valuable resource. Their staff is always very helpful, their prices are very competitive and they have a very great variety of products for artists. Generally speaking I have had nothing but great experiences here. Staff is very accommodating and friendly and theres a huge inventory of supplies. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because of an issue with one of my orders. I will say though, the owner called me personally to rectify the situation, was overly apologetic and compensated above and beyond for what had happened. Its nice to still be able to shop at a privately owned store instead of these huge chains and ill take the quarks of a small business any day. I will continue to shop here and recommend it to anyone else!

This is the second time I have shopped at Complete Sculpture. The first time was 10 years ago and my name is still in their computer. Both times were for one off projects and both times the employees took a great deal of time helping me find exactly what I needed for the projects I had to do. Plus exactly how to do them (face casting/molding and then creating a leather mask with a deformity and painting a silicone prosthetic piece). Most recently, I truly appreciated the first employee who did not know how to help me, instead of brushing me off or offering not so helpful advice he directed me to someone who could help me. She explained everything I needed to know and what I needed to buy. Thank you Complete Sculpture!

I dont know the first about art. What I do know is that I spent half a day looking for a specific type of crafting material (oomoo cast making), and I was ready to give up after being jerked around by half a dozen stores. Im still kicking myself for not starting here. They had the product I needed, the clearly knowledgeable staff helped me find it in ten seconds flat, and I was out of there in a flash.I left off a star because I honestly dont know about art. For all I know, everything else they sell is a cardboard cutout sold at triple price. I cant take my good possible outlier of an experience and pretend that itll apply to you. I also dont like giving things perfect ratings because Im pedantic.

An essential resource for artisans. This is the only place in the city with a supply of casting materials, plus the expertise to direct you toward the right product. If you sculpt, make silicon molds, then take resin casts from those molds, Compleat Sculptor will be a second home for you.
