I have done 2 projects with Zee. Recently, I ask him to help me to install a interior door in my living. A interior door cost less than $1000. He quote me $5500 to install each door. I think that speaks to something.

We are writing in reference to the full service design, implementation of our kitchen and separate bar that was done by Zee Akbar and Manhattan Cabinets. This project involved a complete gut of the existing kitchen and designing and installing new cabinetry, countertop and appliances. We are extremely happy with the final product and believe Zee and his team was instrumental in several aspects of the project.Starting in the design phase, we spent quite a bit of time with Zee planning both the aesthetic and practical aspects of the kitchen and bar. Zee has incredible design ideas and solutions as well as a great selection of very high quality product. Zee ultimately cares about the final product and found solutions to uneven ceilings and floors as well as how to maximize the utility of our space. In addition, on the execution and implementation side, Zee and his team worked with precision, care and delivering this with the highest quality of workmanship. If there were any manufacturing problems or other issues, they handled it, with solutions including reordering new replacements so that in the end we had a flawless kitchen and bar.In addition to the above, Zee and Manhattan Cabinet’s customer service, integrity and great communication really went far and above our expectations. I used Manhattan Cabinets for a bathroom vanity and piping replacement. While it was a much smaller job than, say, an entire apartment renovation, Zee and Rob were highly attentive and made the process simple and easy. The gut renovation of my pre-war bathroom is finished and I am extremely happy with the way it turned out. I’m very pleased with how the entire process unfolded with Manhattan Cabinets. Never in my dreams did I imagine things could or would go so smoothly. When we discussed design, I admitted that I didn’t use my tub and Zee smartly suggested the possibility of a walk-in shower to give me more space, and also because it would be much better for me as I get older. It was a great idea and one that I had not previously considered. Who knew one could be in love with one’s shower! Zee is extremely responsive, professional, smart, experienced, even-tempered, reliable, kind, and considerate. Those wonderful qualities trickle down to his staff as well. I had the good fortune of working with Itzhak, a master craftsman who took great care with all of the details and was a pleasure to work with. The project started exactly on time and ended within the promised time-frame. The coop staff had only good reports and had no concerns or complaints. I have absolutely no hesitations about recommending Zee and Manhattan Cabinets for any project—they are top-notch.

Worst experience...9 weeks for a small NYC bathroom. Poor project oversight, poor workmanship and now we are repairing tub tile and floor cracks - in a brand new bathroom. Pictures may not do justice in showing floor and tub cracks (after the ceiling cracked in three places) after less than a month completion. Lacked professionalism, skills, transparency and client service. Money literally down the drain.

Zee’s level of expertise is very impressive and hes excellent to work with. So it was with his team of workmen who are as highly qualified as they were a pleasure to have in our home through the kitchen gut renovation, which finished ahead of schedule. Their attention to detail and focus on customer satisfaction was admirable. We would definitely use MC again - they are a real find. Even our superintendent commended Zee and his crew on their professionalism and outstanding work.

I hired Manhattan Cabinets to do a full renovation of my bathroom. They came highly recommended. Im glad I made that call! Zee and Craig and all others Ive worked with have been professional, patient, and helpful. I had a shaky start, but through no fault of Zees - he was quick to right all the wrongs and proceed with my job. The workmanship of my custom pieces is great. I love my contractor! Words I never thought Id say. We had a true partnership with Zee and his crew. We had Manhattan Cabinets gut renovate two bathrooms, install custom lighting throughout the apartment, reconfigure doors, install new kitchen and bathroom appliances and fixtures, expertly painted (and plaster) floor to ceiling throughout, and more. The results are amazing!Our master bathroom looks like something out of a magazine! The tile work is gorgeous (with custom niches) and the lighting and fixtures, rewiring and outlets were expertly installed. Manhattan Cabinets also made custom vanities with stone tops and cabinets for us, which are first-class.This was a complex project spanning two plus months. Like with any construction project, there were items that needed to be tweaked or revisited. With all construction work, the home owner needs to stay on top of all projects and be clear about what you want and expect. The key is that Manhattan Cabinets had the utmost integrity and commitment to deliver excellent work, so we were able to update Zee or his wonderful crew and they responded quickly to complete each project.They took our timeline seriously and provided between 2 and 6 workers in our 2 bedroom apartment at any given time, keeping the project on schedule. I highly recommend Manhattan Cabinets and Zee.

I wandered in here expecting typical NYC service (ie either rudeness or/ ridiculous prices) and instead met ZEE! He polite, patient, responsive, knowledgeable and willing to work with any budget or kooky consideration. Best customer service ever! Zee gave great advise and answered all our questions regarding our kitchen renovation over a year ago. The cabinets and accessories were delivered timely and installed without any issues. Our kitchen turned out even better than I can imagine. Zee worked with our contractor and addressed all our concerns and inquires promptly during the entire process. About a month ago (over 1 year after our renovation) a couple of the kitchen cabinet doors were damaged by a repairman. I contacted Zee on a Saturday and he replied within the hour and ordered replacements for us without charge. Thats why I highly recommend Manhattan Cabinets to all my friends.

They replaced our old outdated bathroom and did a great job. They were helpful and timely.

They where just a front for a less than ethical cabinet maker I hired.
