A fine establishment. I always wondered who the masterminds behind Muji are… and now I know. It’s in the scented diffusers. It’s in the pleasant and satisfying travel sized containers for lotion and sprays. Sometimes it’s the acrylic and plastic bins that stack. I wish their online store would restock their cotton headbands, because in all my 5 years of searching for a replacement, I haven’t found a single one that’s as versatile and comfortable.
Nice store. Prices were a bit steep. Variety of items. Clothing. Personal care. Luggage. Beauty.
I LOVE IT HERE!!! i got my bag for like almost $2? it’s a medium sized one and i got to decorate it with the art supplies they have:) plus the marshmallows there are so delicious, they aren’t strawberry flavored but they taste like strawberry’s! definitely recommend them!
NYC is lucky to have a shop like this where you can pay very little for nice, responsibly sourced, beautiful, well designed, useful things made by a cool company with no ego- hence the lack of obnoxious branding and self promotion. Additionally, it’s a zen, stress free experience checking things out, thanks to the chill music and helpful, friendly, low key staff.I always leave with something special and well made, thankfully love everything and never need to do returns because I wasn’t rushed or stressed buying it in the first place (a big reason people make poor decisions when making purchases). Hopefully MUJI will expand into more cities and show other retailers a better way to do things.
Clean, staff were nice, nothing new/ special about this location really.
Cozy collections of clothing, household, beddings, kitchen and office supplies. Japanese and US clothing and beddings sizes are different, so be aware of the differences before your purchase. Some products are marked up almost 40% over the retail prices in Japan, which make this affordable everyday lifestyle brand somewhat pricy in New York.
Love everything about this store. Visually appealing functional items. Helpful staff.
I had to stop by this place by chance and while I was only there for a bit I had to write about the really nice aromatherapy they had vaporizing in there. It smelled really awesome and that stuff has therapeutic value. I heard their other stuff is nice but the aromatherapy stuff was awesome. #kingofcoffeenyc #sankofatafari #lionofthebx
Compact MUJI store with a wide selection of clothing and household goods.
Love the quality of pens and notebooks here. Especially good to go on a sale time like holidays. A bit hard to find if you aren’t familiar with the area but a good store nonetheless.
Good stock & many items are on deal during this Holidays!
I love Muji for their file folders, table top storage holders, boxing shorts, essential oils and essential oil dispensers. There are a hundred other things to grab once you’re inside that you’ll realize you didn’t know you needed. Seaweed crackers anyone?
Whenever I visit muji, I’m immediately calmed down by the scents of the oil diffusers (, they smell like happiness) The ambiance of the store is just very minimalistic and clean. I usually have a fun time shopping around.
Nice small humble location compared to the other Mujis in Manhattan. Clothing, stationery, beauty, snacks and kitchen needs and utensils are sold here. Be sure to bring your own bag (get 5 cents back) or else you will be charged a 5 cent fee for a paper bag when you make a purchase.
I love Muji. Simple design, great variety of clothing basics housewares, office supplies and the best socks!
Always fun and unique items. The shop has a good layout that allows you to browse without getting stuck bumping into a lot of other customers.Always busy and the staff are always very helpful.
I like the dotted notebooks and the different types of pens that they have and other writing instruments. They also have other products such as clothing, furniture, and home accessories. They all have good quality 👍👍
Friendly and helpful employees. Great location and variety of products. Smaller than other MUJI stores but worth checking out!
Guaranteed to find something in here to make life a little easier. Clean environment, friendly staff and great prices!
Great concept and affordable products. However, I encountered a salesperson,Philip who noticeably followed my friend and I around the store and continuously walked around our area, after we said we didn’t need any help. We were so frustrated by his actions, we decided to not purchase anything and walked out. Left a bad impression of Muji for me.
Great place for rare finds from neat stationary to cotton clothing and home goods. Good consistent seasonal stock, too. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff.
One of the best clothing stores ever. The building felt very tranquil. High quality Japanese clothing for a fair price. I would definitely come back here. I wish one of these stores were in Chicago!
I love this store. This location is quite and you can just pickup and go. However, I would recommend some decent music and happier and upbeat staff.
Great dishware sets are available here! Got my first one here when I moved to NY ten years ago and will continue to do so!
Cool lifestyle store with something for everyone. This is one of the smaller stores I have ever been to in NYC for Muji. What they lack in size and inventory they make up for in service. Staff is very helpful and polite. I appreciate them.
Most of their products are made in China with mediocre quality. In other words, they don’t last long and that’s not good for the environment. Design is passable but quite good considering the price. Staff were helpful but a few acted as if they hated working there.
Helpful staff. A wide range of items including utensils to furniture that all have a minimalistic design. Muji pencils and pens are high quality and can range from cheap to expensive. Spacious place and not usually crowded. Gives off a quiet and peaceful vibe.
This have to be without a doubt the most exotic place I ever stepped into. While its not primarily an art store they still got you covered with art supplies to at least get started along with dishware and clothes as well.
Its always nice to be surrounded by pretty things and nice smells, especially when theyre affordable. I love buying pens and notebooks from this place. You can also get a soap dish, slippers, and a jacket from this place. Whats not to love?
Wonderful store!! Very friendly staff and the merchandise is so amazing. Such awesome stationary for school, wonderful beauty products and even home items. Obsessed!! Will always come back! 👍🏼👍🏼
Love Muji! They have some great stuff, especially when they have sales. The customer service is awesome. I bought something and it cracked on the way back to my office, they replaced it without any hassle within the hour.
Great store! Has excellent office supplies, clothing, and home decor section(linen sheets, towels, dishes, etc). Also usually theres a sale on some items (linen shirts, t-shirts, cardigans). Highly recommend it.
Favorite stationary store! Great prices and amazing selection of school supplies and home decor/furniture! They even sell cute clothes!
LOVE LOVE their stationary for their affordable prices and simplicity. Their pens are great with many thickness and colors to choose from. Definitely check out their skincare and makeup accessories. Their cotton pads are cheap and so soft.
It was such a lovely place, I traveled from Chicago to come here and I wasnt disappointed. Ill be going to the times Square one tomorrow!
Great little stationary store. Love their fountain pens.
I go to MUJI for all my school supplies, bedding, and travel accessories. I like the ambience of this MUJI, its quiet and not crowded. Unfortunately, they dont have as many products as other MUJI stores (I was spoiled by MUJI in Asia, they have everything you could actually dream up) and they do not get many shipments in to replace/replenish product. I recently went in a few times in a 1 month period and they were out of hole punches for their special paper, they didnt know when they would get them in again maybe the fall, they do not get ceramic storage containers in this country, and the online shop was still down. As far as American stores go, this was good with a great vibe, just a little behind on inventory ㅠ.ㅠ
As an Artist I love this place. The layout is nice and I can spend an hour in that pen section. Also really cool sketchbooks made out of recycled material.
Ive been to this MUJI about a dozen times, and it is always a 5-star experience. It smells nice (the diffuser and Yuzu oil, which we own) sets the atmosphere, the staff are friendly, and there are very often deals on their great clothes! If Marie Kondo were a store, shed be MUJI!Also, if you dont like splashing brand names on your clothing, MUJI is perfect.
See things you’ll never see anywhere in New York. you’ll walk out with something guaranteed! Great place.
Muji is always so comforting to visit! The Chelsea location is a little smaller than their other ones but still so lovely.
A little crowded. Staff was attentive, friendly and polite. Line was long but moved quickly.
This place is so well-organized and reasonably priced. I mostly go for home goods, so I cannot speak to the quality of the clothing, but everything Ive bought has held up well.
I only went there for a pickup but its such a nice environment. The workers there are really friendly.
Good quality products. Clothe, pencils and many other products. Definitely a good place to buy a great pencil and quality clothe.
Shame the way this store and its corporate parent exploit construction workers on their store renovations. Building non union using unscrupulous subcontractors who exploit mostly undocumented workers. Shame on Muji....Do not support this store until it changes its way.
Great selection. Its a nice escape from the bustle of new york city. They have the most amazing bean bag chairs that are perfect for collapsing into and resting your tired feet.
Muji is always tempting, even when I dont need anything. The selection of papers, pens and compact office supplies is great. Storage containers, kitchenware, furniture are some favorites.
Best Muji store in the city. Well stocked, never too crowded, spacious and helpful staff.
Awesome products (Those compact staplers are amazing), spotless store and the staff were very helpful.
Looks great. Upon closer inspection, the stuff can be very cheaply made and expensive.Maybe stationary and small trinkets/bottles are good, but the rest of the stuff are soo cheap.Great concept to go simple and minimalist, but in terms of bang for your buck, look elsewhere.
Great products and wonderful workers
Muji is hands down one of my favorite places to shop! If you are looking for simple, well priced, quality goods for you & your home. Muji is the place to go! 🎐
The store is clean and tidy. The staff are respectful and very helpful when you need assistance.
I Ike the minimalistic concept of the store. Good quality with a fair price. Loved it.
MUJI is my go to place for stationary. The products are high quality and reasonably priced. This particular MUJI is clean and organized, and the staff is friendly. Very quiet and relaxing inside.
I generally look for 3 things in the places I frequent:Service - The people here are magical. They are always so friendly!Offering - The offering here is an OCD persons dream come true. You like dots, no problem. You like grids, also, no problem. Small, medium, large, whatever the size, they have it. This place has the Goldilocks of product offerings. B4, B5, B6 - yes, thankyouverymuch. None of the pen combinations work for you? You want to make your own. Again, no problem. Pencil, Blue, and Green — done and done…. Prefer something more traditional, like Red, Blue, Black again, no problem. They have everything you might need for your organizational enjoyment.Atmosphere - So clean. So organized. So lovely. And nicely smelling I might add. Please dont forget to click helpful if you found this review helpful, or interesting, or funny, or just want to be nice and make me feel good about putting up this review. ;)
Love their notebooks and pens. Other good random stuff too like oils, containers, towels, clothes, and more.
Ridiculous return policy! MUJI DOES NOT ALLOW RETURN on cosmetic product!! I hope anyone buying MUJI product knows this beforehand. I bought a face wash, it doesnt have a price tag with it originally, so when I look at my receipt I think 14$ is too pricey for this cheap looking face wash, so I went back to counter and asked for a return. Guess what, they say I cant return it because they cant verify that this product is not being used. I literally just bought it 3min ago!! And look at this face wash, it doesnt have any seal with it originally. If a product have a seal with it originally, I guess they can allow me to return. But since these product doesnt have any seal with it originally, so they refuse to return! This is ridiculous! Anywhere in the US, Sephora, Macy, NM, Ulta, even if I used this product if Im not satisfied Im able to return. REALLY REALLY bad return policy. I will NEVER buy any cosmetic product at MUJI again.
Had to get my Muji fix. Beautiful, minimally designed products. Not super cheap, but oh-so-useful.
Great place to buy Japanese stationary. Reminded me of my time in school while growing up in Tokyo
Just Go There! Its one of the best Muji locations in the city, tucked in one of the most quiet, less congested, upscale shopping districts in Manhattan!
The japanese have a philosophy of appreciation for the downplayed, the reserved, the humble. Its called wabisabi. If wabisabi had a store, it would be MUJI. The place is clean, quiet, almost soothing. The store is divided in different areas, womens wear, mens wear, stationary, kitchenware, bedding. Everything is nice, very affordable and there is no lack of staff on hand if help is needed. There is also classical music playing in the background giving the experience a very classy feel. We need MUJI in Quebec.
Clean and organized store. All workers are very nice and friendly!
Of all the Muji locations, I think this one suits me best. The store is usually never crowded and the service is scarce. I like that when Im shopping at Muji because I tend to browse more slowly while Im there. Im not sure if its the quirky Japanese writing or the random details found on such basics like a lip on the spoon rest for your ladle, but it requires me to take multiple trips around the store and through its home and clothing sections. I will admit this isnt the cheapest store for home goods or clothes, but its fun and their sales are pretty good. I recently purchased a sweater here that was regularly $95 but with since it was a sale item, it was marked down to $34. Not too shabby! Its certainly my go-to spot for last minute Christmas gifts since they dont have locations outside of Manhattan...yet.
Well stock and neat! Super friendly staff! Great merchandise!
Whats not to love, its a Muji store! There are two levels. On the street level they have that quintessential Muji stationary, and clothing. The basement level is mainly homegoods and other useful household items. This Muji is smaller than the other ones weve visiting, but they have a lot packed into the space. Its pretty great.
Attentive staff and great item selections
Pricing is weird (ranges from almost over priced to a steal) but products are amazing. Highly recommend for anyone looking to setup a new apartment or get some solid supplies for drawing, cooking and living.
Great store. Relaxed. Smells good. And the prices are very reasonable for Manhattan.
Muji is awesome. Full of knick knacks, window shoppers destination. Lots of stationery and pens. Great vapor diffuser. Home goods.
Beautiful store with Japanese spirit in each detail.
Who doesnt love the simplicity of muji stationary? this store is perfect (when they actually have stock).
Many things I dont need but desire very, very badly. Friendly and helpful.
It has everything you need, and the store has a nice calming smell.
Always love MUJI! Unique finds, great stationary and some unique Japanese household items
Smaller store, great prices and friendly staff.
Muji has such great, affordable basics! I particularly love their stationery & skincare. The homewares & clothing are very minimalist.
Great selection of Japanese style house wares and accessories. Super friendly staff.
High quality and affordable, the best store to suit anyones stationary/travel/homeware needs.
Quality products for a pretty expensive price. You can probably buy similar if not slightly better products for the same price, but I believe the shopping experience you get in muji cannot be beaten.
Things are really good, the boss is also good.Good seller praise one
Perfectly fine small location of the chain. Remarkable in its unremarkableness.
Very cute store. Good designed accessories for many kind of activities.
Muji is a magical escape from the busy city. The stationary selection is one of my favorite things there, with great little notebooks and long-living mechanical pencils.
Nice and clean and prices are not so outrageous! I will go back.
Always good for minimal Japanese products
This place keeps my wife happy. I like the housewares.
Such a great store. Great quality and very minimalist.
Bought essential oil here. Very nice.
Sweet spot will def be back, so many interesting little things
Smaller store than the midtown one, but equally clean, organized, and friendly.
Love their products, great neat- everyday stuff
Love this store, but the 5th Avenue flagship location has a much larger selection of items
Mostly clothes. If you want an array of housewares, go to the store in Chinatown.
