My friend Mtume surprised me with a Bean Pie from Salaam Ice Cream Parlor in Newark, NJ. I must say that this is the BEST Bean Pie that I have ever tasted. Being from Newark, NJ, Ive had my share of good ones, this is the absolute best.The pie filling is light, creamy, and custard like. Pure perfection !!!!!! The crust is light and not too thick. Amazing !!! The packaging was eco friendly and easy to store.I will definitely make my way to Salaam Ice Cream Parlor for more Bean Pies and I looking forward to tasting every flavor of ice cream that they have.

I had Cookies and Cream, my wife had Vanilla Bean and my daughter had Chocolate ice cream. It was delicious. Chocolate cake is also good.

I really expected more from a neighborhood owned even though ice cream wasnt bad it also wasnt worth the money to be honest more expensive than dairy queen 3.99- for 1 scoop $1.00 per topping. Like I said more expensive to be in a poor neighborhood which we try to cooperate with neighborhood stores owners but how can we when prices are more expensive than others oh 1 small pop rock 2.00 expensive

My shake was very rich and true strawberry ice-cream nothing extra.

I haven’t been able to visit the Salaam Ice as of yet however, I’ve known Sis. Shikana since I was very young and I know for a fact her Ice Cream is thee bomb! As soon as I make it to NJ (I’m currently in Cleveland) she will be the first stop I make because I love some good ice cream.

This place is in my neighborhood it’s been here for 3 years and I just found out about it today! It’s friendly, clean and colorful! Great fit for the neighborhood! The service is great the staff are so welcoming, professional and friendly! And last but not not least it’s inexpensive. I’m all about service and that alone exceeded my expectations. I had the red velvet ice cream and the butter almond ice cream it was really good. I also had the chocolate cake and it was good.

Honestly, I just came from this awesome ice cream parlor as I live not too far from it, and the ice cream was so delicious. The two ladies there are always so nice and joyful, as this time wasnt my first or last time coming here. Im glad they decided to add this parlor as before the kids on my street had to wait for the ice cream truck to come around which wasnt until June/July. Now we can just walk to the ice cream shop and be happy for a great price. Feedback: I think a new flavor added should be cake batter.

The ice cream and service is awesome! Ok, I been there twice this week and its only Tuesday. I usually get and upset stomach when I eat ice cream( It doesnt stop me), but this ice cream gave me no ill effects. The red velvet milkshake is the truth!!!
