A neighbor recommended that I take my sons bike to Newberg Cycle & Skate to get it tuned up. I called Matt & he was able to fit me in right away. He made the adjustments to the bike AND taught me how to make simple adjustments in the future. He was friendly & provided EXCELLENT customer service. I will go back every time I need something done for our bikes in the future!

We are from Kentucky and had limited time to enjoy biking and winerys. We were finishing hiking the PCT in Oregon and calling ahead to setup biking and winerys in the willamet valley. Robin, the owner, answered the phone and from the very first word was positive, inviting, and assuring that she would set it all up. Her words, Just enjoy the trail and when you arrive it will all be ready.We arrived and true to her words it was perfect. I dropped a wheel off weeks ago simply to have the sprocket replaced. I’ve called multiple times and left messages with zero response. I’ll be picking it up and taking it elsewhere as soon as I can get ahold of someone.Update: I received a call after I left yet another message. I was told that they had lost my info due to a tech walking out on them, except I had called and left multiple messages even describing my tire to a lady on two separate calls so that’s not true. Got home only to realize that the wheel is missing a bolt and nothing at all happened to the wheel. DO NOT BOTHER SEEKING REPAIRS FROM THIS SHOP!!!

They make good attendance to the clients but they are very slow to work in the bike shop. I brought my bike 4 days ago to adjust my bike shifter and they never called me. I had to come and ask if my bike was ready, and they were about to work on it.

Great service! I feel like they deserve 10 out of 5 stars! They went out of the way to help us. When I was trying to find bikes to rent, I didnt have time to go to the store to ask questions, so I messaged them through Facebook. Danny responded and spent quite a bit of time helping us reserve our bikes.The bikes were awesome! Ive rented bikes in Europe and several states in the USA. These were the best bikes I have ever used. I am considering replacing my personal bikes with the kind they had.They had fantastic service, a wonderful helpful attitude, and a great product. Thumbs up!!

I recently moved to the area and I was afraid I was going to have to find a place closer to one of the bigger cities to get the service that I received today. Cody was great, he didnt try to up sell me on anything and I felt as though his recommendations were sincere and geared towards getting me the best bang for my buck vs trying to sell me everything in the store. I got it say Fantastic job!! to Orenco Station Cyclery, for taking care my bike today on a very short notice. NICK was great taking care my bike and doing some minor adjustments and replacing my shifting cable for my Trek bike. I was happy to find out that it took him a very short time to do so, even tho he was swamp with other duties for the day. Very pleasant customer service. David gave me a wealth of knowledge so I could make a good pick for the baby bike seat. He was very efficient to install it so I could start riding bike with my child. He was willing to work around my schedule and location. Strongly recommended!

I had my tandem and my old trek serviced here and Dave did a great job, was patient, listened and used perfectly good parts that would cost less at times with my permission. Ive had a great experience here and recommend it to all cyclists. Hope hes doing ok!

We rented two bikes for a week. The bikes were perfect. We rode 83 miles over three days. I couldnt ask for better.

I dropped my bike off there a few days ago because I couldnt get the chain back on. The tech told me he would get to it that night or first thing the next morning and it would only take him 15 minutes. I called the next day and he claimed he was working on it right then and that I could pick it up that night. As Im on my way there, they called to tell me they were closing early and that my bike wasnt done. So I called the next day and they told me my chain was broken (it wasnt before I brought it in there) and that it would cost a certain amount for a new chain. They said they were working on my bike at the moment and it would be done that night. While Im driving there, they call me again to tell me they were closing early and that my bike wasnt done. The same thing happened again the third day they had my bike. I called and left a message that night and told them not to work on my bike and that Id be picking it up later to take it somewhere else. I called again the following morning and the tech once again claimed that he was currently working on my bike. He said he never got my message. I go to pick my bike up and the tech tried to charge me $20 for assembly work when all he did was put the back tire back on my bike. He threw my chain out because he said it was broken, but it wasnt broken before I dropped it off. I told him the reason I was picking it up in the first place was because they were being unprofessional, closing last minute and lying about working on my bike. I couldnt believe that it took the tech THREE DAYS to put a tire on a bike. He told me the other tech worked on my bike for a half hour and thats why I owed $20. I refused to pay them anything for doing practically nothing except waste my time and the tech offered to put a new chain on my bike and only charge me for that. It took the tech less than two minutes to put on a new chain and put air in my tires, so Im still confused as to why it took them three days for that to be done. It was nice of the tech to try and make amends and only charge me for the chain, but Ill never go back there and I advise everyone else to stay away.

No one in the staff seemed to know what was going on when we went it. They didn’t know the prices and then after walkie talking with what I’m guessing was a manager quoted me prices $15 more than their website said. Weird vibe in there for sure.

Great experience, answered all of my questions and explains things I did not even know to ask about. Love the location, and look forward to many more great experiences with them. Highly recommend!

A few months ago I had my bike tuned up. The guys at the cyclery did such a great job and my bike is now like new!The shop has a nice environment, high quality products and it is located in a nice area. It is easy to get there by MAX (train) whenever you need your bike to be serviced and depends on the public transport to do so. Also, if you need to rent a bike while yours is being fixed, they have many options available.Professional staff for pros and enthusiasts.

Shout out to David at OSCyclery in Newberg! If you havent been in his awesome bike shop in Newberg located behind Social Goods on S. Howard and E. 2nd St. you should! He repairs bikes, sells bikes and even gives bike riding lessons ....this guy does it all and with a smile on his face to boot! :-).Thank you David for helping my girl learn how to ride her gorgeous new bike!

I want to support my local small neighborhood business, but my two experiences there were bad. Today, I went in earlier to ask about their consignment program and was told there was a $35 to $45 fee, but I am to come back after 1pm when there will be a bike mechanic on staff. I came back. I repeated that there was a fee (which I had no problem about), but the kid behind the counter said yes plus a percentage of the bike sale. The other kid behind the counter told that first kid “no”. They proceeded to disagree, so I left. It seemed really shady. My first experience, last year Spring, there was a happy hour sign, hot dog plus a beer for X amount. I came over with a friend and ask the guy behind the counter that I was interested in the happy hour deal. He didn’t know what I was talking about. I showed him the sign. He then said that they didn’t have hot buns, but offered to wrap our hotdogs in a tortilla. We went for it, but it was super awkward. I want the business to succeed but something needs to change.

Customer service outweighs price to me and David at osc excels at this . My sons bike and mine were taken care of like it was his own. I would recommend this shop to anyone. Keep it up David,

Honest and hardworking! Went in thinking I needed my bike brakes replaced... Turns out I just needed them tightened, so they showed me how to tighten my brakes in just a couple of minutes free of charge!

I would give a million dollars (if I had it) to visit Orenco Station Cyclery again. I loved the breakfast I had there as I looked at the wonderful bicycles. So sad, but I now live in Indiana. Orenco Station is the best. Please send me a ticket to Portland so I can come back there where I belong.

Super nice and awesome service! Im not very bike savvy and in a tight spot, since my first race is in a couple of days. The mechanic was willing to help out, look at, and do what needed to be done if time allowed. Since it was a easy fix, he did there on the spot and explained it to me so that if it happened again, I could fix it myself. Ill be back there again for sure. Thanks!

Local neighborhood bicycle shop. Friendly and helpful. Had problems with chain alignment and wanted to fix it myself. They understood and happily explained in detail what I needed to do. I highly recommend this shop.

I had a great experience getting my bike tuned-up. Everyone was very kind. I could tell the staff is passionate about cycling, and helping cyclists be at their best. I especially liked the online tracking system so I could see the progress on my bike in real time.

I went there for information purposes.. I got lots more then i bargained for.. lots of great information on what to do with my current single speed, and information on possible bikes i can look into if i wanted to.. Very friendly and patient... I will go back and test out some bikes..

Ive bought misc parts at this shop and have taken my bikes in for a tune-up. What really impressed me was the attention to detail during the tune-up - there were a couple of things that I didnt specifically request for but were fixed anyways without extra charge. What a great experience. I bought a bike for my wife online that needed to be assembled. I initially took it to REI, but it was going to take 2 weeks and cost me $125. I brought it to Orenco Station Cyclery and they did it in 1 day for $60! I would recommend this small local shop over the big guys any day.

My bike had a stripped bolt head that I could not remove. The team at Orenco Station Cyclery was friendly, removed the bolt quickly and replaced my bolts with better ones. Ive been in many, many bike shops. This one has no pretense and a woman-friendly vibe.

Kenny has always been very friendly and helpful. I do all my own maintenance on my bike. One time I messed up and got Kenny to order the wrong tool for my bike. Not only did he absorb my mistake, but he offered to loan me the special wrench that he had for a day so that I could get the job done. I dont live so close by, but whenever I need parts I almost always go to his shop to get them. I strongly recommend his shop for sure.

I thought I was going to just drop the bikes off and pick them up at some date in the future but Mike was willing/able to fix them right on the spot. Very impressed with how knowledgeable and efficient he was.

We are new to cycling. We were a little intimidated when we started shopping for bikes, they helped us choose perfect bikes for our type of riding. If we have questions, or need maintenance, OSC is great about helping us. We would highly recommend OSC.

I was very glad to find this shop close to my workplace. My rear tube popped and I had a bus to catch. The lady (owner?) was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. She sold me a new tube, threw in a tire liner, and even filled my water bottle with ice water. I love that they are open early so that if I have a problem on my early morning commute, I can get some help. Highly recommended!

The knowledgable staff will provide you with great service and support. They also rent bicycles by the hour or day. If you want the best, why drive to all the rest when there is everything you need right here in Hillsboro. If they dont have it, they will order it for you and give you their professional opinions about the choices you have before you. I rely on them.

Was there for opening day, not only did I get a turn up, but got some new knowledge gained about road bikes.. Great atmosphere and prices!!

The shop opened close to an hour later than the posted opening time leaving a crowd of customers waiting out front to be served. Once they opened I was told very politely how I couldnt be helped. I dont recommend this place if you are on a budget or are working with a tight schedule.

Well, to be honest, the guy was friendly at first, but that sure changed. I had my cat with me in a stroller (dont laugh) and I was really stressed out about it.It was her first time in it and it was a Friday evening and people were out and ready to party and super loud and she was kind of freaking out. I only wanted to get her to the pet store and back but unfortunately it was a lot farther than I thought. I stopped in to the Cyclery shop briefly to order a sandwich to go because I had read glowing reviews and I hadnt eaten all day. It was about a quarter to 6 and I knew the pet shop closed at 6 and the Cyclery closed at 6:30 so I asked if I could order and run to the pet shop and come back for the sandwich. He said it was fine. Well - long story long - like i said, I thought the pet shop was just next door - it wasnt. I ended up having to sprint back in a panic, totally worried that he would think I wasnt coming back at all. I did get back before 6:30 and expressed my concern and apologuzed profusely. He had a huge scowl on his face and did not cut me ANY slack! He could see I was drenched in sweat, my cat was totally freaked and I was livid that he didnt shake off his attitude. He even said, Yeah, well, I had tpo re-heat it in the microwave,Poor baby!! Whatever. I wont be returning. The sandwich was soggy and barely edible and very expensive and I tossed half of it out anyway. What a bust.

I walked in to look at bikes because I recently purchased a bike at bikenhike not knowing there was a local small bike shop, so I went in to see what they had to offer before my 30 day return period is up. I went in saw the staff was busy and decided to look around at some bikes a products. Once the staff became available they never acknowledged me. I continued to browse for 10 minutes or so and never was asked if I needed help. Once I saw they didnt have anything like I was looking for and their selection was limited I left. I dont know if they thought I was just too young to buy a new bike or what, but I wont be stopping by here again.

Feel bad giving them a one star review, but as far as I can tell this store is only for local residents. Spent 15 minutes trying to find a parking spot 0 available. Only open ones were all marked for residents.

I have not been to this bike shop but a few wks back they completely saved the day (& night!) when Coleman went out of his way on a Sunday evening past 7 pm to personally deliver a tire to Champoeg State park. Hours before & 5 mi away on a 2 day bike tour, my aging rear tire literally blew off the wheel (kinda funny in retrospect). As it was unrepairable & w/Sunday evening fast approaching my options were for a replacement tire were slim. One phone call to Coleman, 1 hr of running alongside a road w/no shoulder & thumb out, & one lucky ride later (my loaded bike actually fitting in a Chevy Suburban w/4 passengers, yes?!), I met him @ the parks gate w/my new tire sitting shotgun in his car as the sunset dwindled to darkness. Hands-down the single-Best customer road-side service Ive ever received. The next full day of touring & then back home to Portland were Brilliant. A heart-felt thank YOU to Newberg Cycle & Skate & most especially to Coleman!!

Dropped a part off for service. A week later the shop has managed to call SRAM but cant seem to answer their phone when SRAM calls back, nor can they remember to call me to update on its status. Bad customer service experience and will not ever return. Taking business elsewhere.

I can tell this is a beloved institution and maybe I just had a bad experience here. I walked in to the store and the staff ignored me. They tended to customers who came in after me. Finally when everyone left (a good 15 minutes) a tall bearded guy in glasses said what can I do for you.I had an enquiry about a bike trade in and I had to fill out my details in some form. The guy behind the screen asked for my email. I had a question though but when I asked him he just repeated EMAIL even louder.They havent responded yet to me via email.EDIT: I visited on 11th june

I called over ten stores and this was the only place that stocked a pair of drop bars clamp diameter 25.4mm (used). I went in and he ended up being able to bend back my original bars. So, he actually saved me from having to install bar tape, cables, and brake levers on another set of bars. The mechanic is UBI (United Bicycle Institute) certified. I really appreciated his help and didnt felt like he was trying to overcharge me on anything. I will DEFINITELY be back for any repair needs, because I am especially picky with my bicycle.FYI: Current turn around on spring tune ups is a week and a half, in case youre shopping around.And there is NO food (drinks yes). This is exclusively a bicycle store.
