I’ve been going to Igor at The Worm Farm Portland for years now and have never been disappointed. No matter what I’m looking for he always has an answer for me as far as what kind of soil I need for my gardens. He’s one crazy Croatian but he know his stuff. He definitely the guy to talk to whether your starting your own at home garden or you have acres of land to prepare and supply with nutrient rich soil. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He also has some awesome raised beds already to go.

Igor is wonderful to work with. Able to answer any questions and provide great recommendations. Planted my first garden three years ago and Worm Farm soil was so worth the investment! We fertilize with chicken manure as needed and top off beds with more WF soil as needed and my garden is thriving year-round. We recently planted a hedge of arborvitae and used Igor’s soil and so far so good! If you have a truck, pickup is easy and painless. With the amount we order, we prefer having him deliver for a small fee. He’s so friendly and always has recommendations and growing tips for any plant. Bonus that the kids get to watch the truck dump the dirt! We will be lifelong customers and are excited to use WF blueberry soil mix for our blueberry bushes this spring!

Purchased several yards of Gwens Mix and Kelp Mix over the past few years and have always had great results. Reseeded a yard, planted veggies in our raised beds, and planted many shrubs and bushes in our landscaped areas. Everything is doing well. Igor is great to work with and will make sure you get the right soil type for your application. If you have a truck, its super easy to get in and out with a load for a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

We previously purchased a full truck load of “premium” soil from a local place in Vancouver, WA and spent days picking out all the garbage. To top it all off, our grass didn’t grow at all. Called the Worm Farm for information and help. They were amazing. Got a truck load of soil. Literally within 2 weeks our grass seed was growing and the existing grass was green. It stayed green longer also. Definitely will be using them again. Well worth the price and the 1.5hr drive for me. Far exceeded expectations. Thanks guys!!

FAKE SOIL VENDOR!!I bought a yard of kelp mix soil from them for my raised beds. After 3 weeks of planting cabbage starts, plants started dying. Adding pics for proof.I did some investigation, seems the award this guy is touting on his website is FAKE. The award says presented by Newberg Award Program. I could not find anything on the internet regarding Newberg Award Program or the advertised award.I am now quite sure the advertised OMRI certification is also fake. I will follow up on this.

Bought 3 yards of kelp mix and 1 yard of 20% mix early spring 2021. My plants struggled to survive in them. I then did a controlled study using Home Depot bagged soils and soil from this worm farm in pots and garden beds, it was confirmed there was something grossly wrong with the soil I bought from them.When I called up asking what is wrong, the owner cheekily tried to put the blame on me saying his kelp mix and 20% mix lacks Nitrogen and I need to amend using cow manure. Really?? A $100/yard soil with 20% worm casting lacking Nitrogen.People do yourself a favor and skip this place. Other places have better soil with much lower prices. I bought from this place thinking expensive is better, and I am kicking myself for doing so. My veggie garden for 2021 is ruined!

Your better off buying Fox farm dirt if you are potting experimented with gwens without additional feed and yeah 145a yard of wasted money and time and plants

Excellent products at reasonable prices. I filled new planting beds in our greenhouse with Gwens Mix and have had fantastic results. Now adding other of their mixes to our outdoor beds. Igor is great to work with. Highly recommend them.

Came in for Cedar Garden Beds. Lots of premium soils available for all types of growers. Great staff, nicely manicured farm located 2-miles west of Newberg, Oregon along Hwy 240. Bought Garden Beds and best soil for tomato plants, its called Gwens Mix. Delivery setup for next week. Great place for growers!

SOIL LACKS BASIC NUTRIENT!!From the vendors own admission on yelp while replying to a bad review (I have attached screenshot in case he deletes his reply), the soil sold lacks nitrogen which is a basic nutrient required for growing any garden.It would be easier and cheaper to just use native soil/dirt and add sand for drainage instead of paying about $100/yard for soil from this vendor. Since native soil(+sand) and soil from this vendor both lack Nitrogen.All the bad reviews are correct. My seed starts also struggled to grow. Adding pictures of 9 week old bell pepper starts in kelp mix soil bought from this vendor. It is also true that the vendor never revealed to me that his soil lacked N, otherwise I wouldnt have even touched his soil with a 10 pole.

Ive been using their products for the last 4 years with amazing results. I buy Gwens Blend exclusively. Ive recently used this on sagging, listless plants that looked bleached out due to lack of nitro in the soil and they rebounded immediately after transplanting. If your plants arent growing in this, you need to look at everything else youre doing because the fault isnt in the soil. The other reviews that give this a 1 star is insane and need to take responsibilty for what they do/didnt do before they bought the soil. The owner of this place is knowledgeable, patient, and will bend over backwards for you. They got my business as long as theyre there.

Owner is extremely knowledgable and is a great person to consult with if you have issues. All the bad reviews on here are from people who literally have no idea how to grow food lol. Stop writing bad reviews when you didnt even ask questions or messed up your own garden. Live and learn peeps. Good soil isnt cheap. Especially when you get this quality of material. He has tons of different ammendments you can get to add to your soil if it needs certain boosts. But the great part is, he knows what hes talking about and will gladly help you find what you need if your respectful lol. Buy this mans dirt! So cheap for what your getting

Great soil and staff.

I achieved excellent results reseeding my front lawn using new top soil from The Worm Farm. I spread out 2 1/2 yards of OMRI 10% and planted grass seed right on top. I didn’t use any additional fertilizers. Three weeks later, I have a beautiful new lawn with minimal weeds.I found the staff highly accommodating. I highly recommend.

I cant recommend Igor and The Worm Farm highly enough. After discovering the hard way that renting a truck and doing this myself wasnt possible, Igor dropped high quality garden soil at my home today and I couldnt be more pleased with the result. He truly went above and beyond and I cant wait to get my plants in the ground! Particularly with the clopyralid contamination of other soils that has happened in the Portland area this year, I am grateful to have OMRI-certified soil in my garden.

If you want high quality product at a great price, then this is where you should be going for all your soil needs. Their level of soil knowledge combined with top notch customer service and accommodation makes them a stand up company. You will leave satisfied every time

Ive personally checked out nearly every supplier in the metro PDX area, and TWF is by far the best quality around.I renovated an expensive mess for a client that looked nice just long enough to get through the portfolio pics for the architect. Everything was dying. Turns out theyd planted everything in clay with 2 topsoil and a little mulch! Had to lift everything everything out, remove the irrigation, rebuild and augment all the beds, and replace $$ thousands in dead stock including several beautiful trees within 6 months of the original install.Thanks to the great soil from TWF and a lot of hard work, the result is a gorgeous, thriving, organically grown showplace property!TWF offers several blends to choose from including blends for standard perennial beds and native woodland landscapes.The owner knows his stuff and was wonderful to work with. Both choices from TWF were reasonable, clean (no weeds), and delivered and deposited on time exactly as specd.I almost hate to share my secret, but he really deserves your business!

Igor has excellent knowledge of his soil and things I need to do to have great harvests. He has a large supply of cedar boxes and plentiful amounts of rich and nutritious soil.

The best quality, nutrient rich soil you can get in Oregon! My plants are stronger, healthier and grow faster. Great customer service! Way to go Portland Worm Farm!!!

Despite what their website clearly states, they do not sell red worms at The Worm Farm. Their site bills them as a supplier of bait worms, composting worms, in addition to their topsoil and compost products. It is stated several times on their site that they sell red worms for composting. They Do Not. They are a wholesale supplier of compost and topsoil.

Very satisfied with the soil I purchased + the outstanding customer service & over all experience I give them a 🌟 FIVE ST⭐R R⭐TING. Ill definitely be returning soon for more soil, thanks again Worm Farm staff!
