Shawn is a great manager because he runs this Safeway well, is efficient, has great checkout clerks on board, and is always willing to help in any way. This is one of the nicest Safeway stores Ive been to and Im glad its in my town. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

Smaller Safeway so didnt have everything I was looking for. I actually was just passing through town on my way home with my granddaughter around dinner time. Grabbed some salads, cold chicken and small piece of carrot cake and ate in the parking lot. Safeway picnic with your grandkid. What could be better than that.

They overcharged on some apples so we went back in to get it correct. Apparently the special was for 4# or less and we had 4.6#. We simply asked them to charge us the special for the first 4# and normal price for the rest. The customer service person rudely said No, I have to re-weigh it so I went to the car to get them. The lady seemed put off and annoyed that I actually took the time to come back (she thought she got rid of me) and told me to get in a checkout line. The checker proceeded to stare at his phone and ignore me. Turns out he was listen to a Harry Potter book and had to rewind it... a checker?! We removed a few apples and gave me the sale price on 3.5# and said that was close enough - at this point I was shocked a checker was listening to an audio book while working and decided to just leave. Ill never go back. It was extremely unprofessional.

Shopping for a client 2 cashiers and a PIC went above and beyond to help me get what I was trying find and even helped load into my car. Exceptional help today. Thank you

Store has great appeal, Cassie at the deli department was very nice and professional despite how busy it was for lunch rush . It’s people like her that have me come back. There was also another gentleman probably newer who was kind too . Before the department needed a lot of help since I have had bad experiences before . Glad to see changes happening :)

Terrible, please do not go to this pharmacy.My father is 80-years old and suffering from potential dementia. I set up a COVID19 booster appointment for him, because he is immune-compromised. He apparently had trouble filling out his paperwork and didnt check the box for immune compromised, even though I had filled it out online for him that way. Pharmacist refused to give him the vaccine because he did not know the name of the medication he was being prescribed. My father took his shirt off to show his psoriasis to her, to demonstrate that he has a very serious immune condition that causes lesions over mostof his upper body, and the potential for serious illness if he contracted COVID19. The pharmacist refused to give him the vaccine because he could not remember the name of his psoriasis medication.

Convenient, clean and typically not too busy in the evenings. I wish produce section was a little bigger and better maintained, but still decent.

I wish it was bigger. Like the one in Sherwood. This town is growing fast.

Safeway has a nice layout but most of their items can be found elsewhere cheaper. Their lines to checkout are pretty lousy as well. At grocery outlet or Freddies they have plenty of staff to accommodate shoppers

Smaller store with narrow aisles. Few checkers on duty. Normally I go here if I am in a hurry as it is less crowded than the Fred Meyers across the street. There are fewer choices here and the store is a bit shabby. Good fried chicken and the Friday $5 deals are generally good. I have been less impressed with the check out staff. Either they are extremely slow or they bag items poorly. I purposely put all my frozen stuff together but they get split up instead of being bagged together.

Shoppers beware. Ive gone there twice in 2 years, very disappointing. Shopping ads, coupons, digital coupons, whatever the item, the meat value pack, is at your own risk with no one to help you. At the till you need to watch close to discounts, then show the clerk the mistakes and help with the addition. 2 trips 2 years, left with Safeway owning money both times till errors. I dont recommend shopping there, and I will never return. Newberg needs a better store to compete with Fred Meyers and this Safeway should be closed.

The older woman working the self check was the rudest cashier Ive ever experienced in my life. She most definitely should not be working in ANY customer service area. I will NOT shop there again.

Their deli does not like to serve customers. I went there a few weeks ago and the person was opening up saw me but refused to acknowledge me so after about five minutes I just turned around and left all I wanted was a cup of coffee. Today at lunch time it took a bit to be acknowledged. When I finally was I asked for a particular sandwich which happens to come on french bread. I could barely understand the guy as his voice was way too low but he said something to the effect that the bread for that sandwich wasn’t available and he would have to make it on regular wheat sliced bread unless I wanted him to go check somewhere else in the store and get a similar bread for that sandwich. I told him I preferred the type of bread that comes with the sandwich normally and then he repeated what he said about having to go somewhere else in the store to get it as though it would be an inconvenience. So I just said forget it and left. I don’t understand about their bread problems and I don’t care...just make me the sandwich and put it on the bread that it comes with normally or similar, I don’t care what you have to do. I wonder if Safeway realizes how much money they are losing because the people behind the counter are lazy and simply don’t want to serve their customers.

I have a service dog. A leagal service dog. But Safeway allowed ppl to bring there dogs in there, barking and causing issues with my service animal!! A FYI, service dogs are trained!! They dont bark and act up in public places!!

Lack of cashiers. Self checkout is loud and seems to have a mind of its own.

Great place to go grocery shopping, very wide selection, good quality, and the prices are very competitive with the market.

Only 2 checkout lines with 6 people in each. Wasnt worth the wait for 2 salads and yogurt so I returned items. I love Safeway but this one not so much.

Staff are very helpful, stuff doesnt move around constantly so its easy to find. Good supply of commonly needed things. Feels just the right amount of home and comfortable with out the mass produced sterileness other supermarkets have.

Normally a great place to shop...... But some challenged individual decided to move stuff around and reorganize the store...... bad idea. Deli counter clerk is rude. More concerned about break schedules than customer service. Chicken looked like it had been under a heat lamp for the last few hours. She didnt offer to swap for fresher pieces. When I asked about price she says thats the price it gives me rather than giving the customer the price on the sign

I found myself with a last minute need of a large quantity of gift cards for Thanksgiving, and was having a problem finding someone to assist me so close to the Holiday. Kim and Cheryl came to the rescue! They went out of their way to take my stressful situation and turn it into a great customer experience! They will be getting my gift card business for all of my companys events from now on!

Has great Fried Chicken

Poorly managed. Rather drive to Mcminnville or Sherwood. Shelves arent clean or stocked most times. Bottle machines always broken, stuff on floors in aisles. Most employees are very nice..only reason they got a 2. Stood in line for 10 minutes in customer service..young blonde comes out complaining...told her Id been there 10 minutes..goes into a rant in a loud voice about employees and became rude and belligerent when I said you need new management yelling I am the manager ..I just walked away as she continued her temper tantrum...lol...wow.

Great people! This store (Newberg) is small which is both good and bad. Variety is somewhat limited and prices a bit higher. The employees are very helpful and make you feel at home.

Everyone is incredibly friendly and the store looks pleasantly clean and bright. Always have loved coming here to shop.

Prices are a little higher than they should be; part of it works out with your Club Card. people are friendly there, never too much business, so the lines go quickly so you can talk to those friendly people. seems like a good place to maybe meet somebody

I love this place because you can get your discounted food items for 50% off on the dairy products if you catch the tag sales you can get your meat for 30% off if you buy them when theyre theres always discounted Bakery items and their lunch meat & cheese products on top of the great customer service when going through the the checkouts plus they have the bottle return machines

This Safeway never seems to have any cashiers and they do not have self service here so you wind up waiting in line for a long time. Then when one cashier decides to open instead of going to the next person in line and taking their cart and bringing it with them they just say I can help the next person .....unfortunately most people are not honest and hurry up and run into the next line even though they are not the next person.This is a smaller Safeway and not a Marketplace type Safeway. Some of the things that and theyre bigger more modern safe ways you cannot find here.
