This place was named after him (a barking chihuahua, my faaaaave).Love the whole concept with a little library area where you can purchase good reads or simply hang out with a beer and a book.They have a small (but to the point) menu with quick bites. Everything’s made in house, ready to order, by the owners themselves. Really clean environment and perfectly cozy.They even have sip and paint events and other fun stuff going on. Can’t wait to try them out post pandemic to be able to FULLY get the full Barking Goose experience.Make sure to check out their brews, they have a nice selection some things in tap others available to go. If you like sours, they got em!

The Barking Goose has become one of my Top 5 favorite places anywhere! I love the book selection, it’s really thoughtful curated. I’m a huge reader, I read over 100 books a year, and this selection is just delicious. I’ve read some; and I want to read almost every book in the shop. I’m writing this post pandemic. The new spatial setup is very socially distant and yet retains that comfortable, in your own home (but better) feel. I love the comfy couch the best. There’s also plenty of room to spread out in the cute dining room. I particularly love the cider and ale. There is a really delicious café menu. I am vegetarian and there’s plenty on the menu for me as well as for my hubby and kids. I love the Greek hummus platter with pita as well as the broccoli and cheddar quiche, and the warm beets with goat cheese salad. Yum. Kids and hubby favorites include the turkey chili with pasta and the Goose’s grilled cheese.The book clubs have been very popular and right now we are doing them on zoom. I love the book choices and I also love the folks who show up for the book clubs; these are very thoughtful polite and insightful readers. The co owner Jenn does a great job of leading the book club.We have also discovered the different paint and sips, which involves different medium. We have done painting with stencils on Pinewood, ceramic painting of mugs, and we will be doing the paint your pet which will be on canvas. They’re usually Sunday at about 4 PM and it’s just a wonderful way to wind down, do you some painting with family and friends, have some food and a glass of wine or cider. We always run into friends from the neighborhood and it’s just a fabulous time.The owners are such wonderful people, Lani and Jenn, they have a beautiful family and they’re very welcoming. I highly recommend BarkingGoose make sure you come on down and visit them!

Ive been here several times, including trivia nights. Staff is friendly and the limited menu is delicious! Try the goat cheese salad, it is very tasty!

What a lovely place! A unique book store and cafe where the staff was warm and sweet- like my tea. I love the name and concept. My favorite part is a section reserved for local authors book. This is a community gem.

What a cute mom and pop business! Excellent coffee and probably had the best pretzel in my life here (How is that possible?!). The shop is attached to a cozy bookstore. From a quick browse: engaging childrens section, books on female empowerment, and a section featuring black authors.

Great mix of atmosphere, nice selection of drinks, books to boot, and even got to know the nice owners who work there. Worth a visit to check out for yourself.

This is a locally owned business. Lani and Jen are awesome people. Great selection of books, beer and wine. I think the menu is perfect. It’s not overwhelming. Also Jen is an awesome cook. It also doesn’t hurt that Lani is a Yankee fan. I highly recommend stopping in when you get a chance. You won’t be disappointed.

Really great little spot. Really good beer list. Only have had one item off the menu but it was good. And that makes me want to try more. Super friendly staff and good patrons. Worth a visit for sure.

Great place not so great location. Nice, yet limited, selection of rotating tap handles and a much larger selection if cans. The food us very good. The selection of books is well curated.

Fantastic place!! A nice selection of books to keep even my 3 year old interested and great beer options for my husband and me. We just had a pretzel so Im looking forward to trying out their chili next time.

Delightful, friendly and warm. It did take almost ten minutes to be acknowledged to get a drink. The upside to that I was happy for them that they were bustling with customers on our stop through. We intend to stop in again soon.

This place is great! The food is amazing! The staff is friendly! The beer/wine list is never disappointing! I suggest trying the pineapple cider, it’s awesome! Trivia night is Thursday and it’s a blast! Plus there’s a great area to relax and read! You must check them out!Also- their sliders and grilled cheese are ah-mazing!

I had a lovely time at The Barking Goose. I was looking for a specific book for my nephew and one of the owners, Jenifer Flynn was very helpful and knowledgeable. I also enjoyed there nice wine selection. I love to pair a good Pinot Noir with The Godfather platter or a good old fashion Grilled Cheese. Going to The Barking Goose is an experience that you don’t want to miss, maybe you can’t find every book that the Big Book store has but what you will find is two owners that care about there customers, give the best quality and enjoy making people happy. So when you choose to go out and experience a quaint Bookbar and cafe then the choice is quite clear, The Barking Goose is where I would go for a beer, over 41 choices of beer, cider and ale and Don’t forget Trivia on Thursday’s, so much fun.
