They helped us with designing our entire living room. We are so happy with our furniture, and would highly recommend others to go to Newington, CT Bassett store. Top notch furniture and service! Came in for a sofa found one on clearance that I really liked...our sales person was Rebecca she was very nice... left the store called and told them I wanted it and would call back in 15 minutes .. I made It very clear I would call Right back with a CC, called right back and all of a sudden it was sold. What type of customer service is that?! We had a verbal agreement and it was broken ... no morals tor conscience these days. The manager Audrey was cold and could careless. We were also going to purchase a leather recliner and bedroomSet.. guess we are going to Ethan Allen.
Not a big selection of anything. The sales staff watched us come in, then looked away and ignored us until I asked a question. Very helpful after that, but they didnt have any variety of anything.
Hello purchased a big sectional also got the 5 year warranty I now have a rip on top of sofa its where the sea e is its coming apart and its about over y years old .Reached out to the store where I purchased and they said they cant help me .Seriously I spent close to y thousand dollars now the sea is coming apart and now no one can help me.I. goin g to get a hold of the ceo.Just not right nor professional I. Any way ! It just needs a few stitches
I really wanted to love this place, and I was excited for my in store appointment with a design consultant. I looked on the website and browsed products before my appointment and I had a few items that I wanted to check out before making the purchase.My in store experience was a disappointment, and definitely not what I expected going into a family owned store.I needed help figuring out what would fit best in my small space but my design consultant didn’t show interest in learning my needs, nor did she ask me specific questions to help me make an informed decision. I was in the store maybe 10 minutes but decided to take my business elsewhere. I won’t be returning to this store.
Greatly disappointed. My experience with Bassett has been a nightmare from the time they delivered a poorly constructed product to my struggles to get satisfaction from customer service. This sofa wrinkles, puckers and twist over cushions. I am sorry I did not go to Ethan Allen where they stand behind their work.
Without a doubt, awful. We have been patient for two years. They lied about the dining room set- we would never have spent thousand on dollars on a table that peels. The couch and love seat are damaged. Guardsman, the company THEY recommend, would only replace one half. We asked Bassett to step in and they refused. 10,000 down the ….. the manager stated explicitly that show would look into and we never heard from her again. We have 12 emails to prove our contact with a half dozen photos. I have better luck with used car salesmen.

No pressure, just nice conversations. The staff are more designers than sales so they are more laid back and willing to help. The furniture seems to be of a higher quality than your typical furniture store.
I had the best experience at Bassett’s in Newington. The designer I worked with, Lisa Ruglio, was great! I had gone to just about every furniture store around Suffield and Manchester, and literally could not find what I was looking for, until I went to Bassett. Lisa looked at my inspiration room and talked to me about what I like regarding sofa’s, loveseat’s, chair’s, etc. and the fabric choices. I had just moved into my new house and my current furniture made the living room look dark and uninviting. She spent a considerable amount of time with me and my friend looking at the furniture and fabrics. After I picked out the fabrics and some of the furniture I liked, Lisa came out to my place to take measurements and get a feel for the space. Lisa then went back and came up with some ideas that we sat and talked about. My first choices were over my budget, but Lisa had some ideas and they worked out great. Not only did I get a fabulous living & dinning room, but I also learned a lot and have someone that I will continue to work with and would also recommend to others. Let me also say that the furniture is high quality, functional and comfortable. My living room and dining room are now bright and inviting. I can’t say enough about Lisa and Bassett, it was an overall great experience.

This is a great, if expensive, furniture store with helpful staff and a lot of customization options. Id definitely recommend it if youve got very specific ideas about how you want your space and like picking out fabrics and styles.
Overall, terribly constructed products (at least for last couple of years) and customer service!My wife bought a two couch family room set about a year ago (spent about $4,500) and the couch is not wearing well. It started pilling and also discoloring over this period and she complained. After multiple conversations with the manager she got absolutely no where. We are very unhappy customers and they couldn’t replace the couches free of charge. Given that we’ve spent over $10,000 over the last 20 years, we couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t just ‘do the right thing’.She also tried to contact the regional manager multiple times and they never called her back.Buyer beware!

EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! ! FURNITURE BROKE AND IT TOOK 6 MONTHS FOR PROPER REPAIR. HAD TO USE THE THREAT OF SMALL CLAIMS TO GET RESULTS.

Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. We experienced a saleswoman who was unresponsive when she apparently felt she was not going to get the big sale all at once and on the very same day of the big reveal. Couple this with a store manager who treated my wife extremely unprofessionally on the phone and I knew at that moment we would not be making a single purchase from Bassett furniture. I was really shocked by this experience as the saleswoman knew we were furnishing an entire house and had come out to us for a consultation. If you are a customer...Look elsewhere and vote with your dollar. There are too many furniture stores out there to deal with rude salespeople. If you are the district manager I think its time for a meeting with your store manager to review the basics of treating customers with respect.Update 3/12In response to the owner,please leave your contact information and I will reach out to you.
We were very disappointed with the quality of the furniture that we received. It was not as good as in the past. We had to have 2 visits by a repair person to fix new furniture. Customer service was poor. We will not shop here again.
Found what we wanted after visiting several stores. Delivery was ahead of schedule.
