My experience here today was amazing. Great service, friendly, and super simple to get in and out during quarantine times, even though they were busy. 100% will be a returning customer for bike maintenance. Also the hours are quite frankly unheard of for a bike shop. 10/10.

I am pumped about my purchase of a new bike from Tom. I have been road biking since the 80s and my bike was about 15 years old. I was out of touch with the new technology going on long rides against bikes with it. I had no idea what i was missing. I first went to Spokes shop to do a tune up on my old bike talking with Scott trying to get the low down on how to compare new bike models and gear sets. Scott spent a lot of time with me looking at what they had in stock and going online learning about all the options and brands. I then went home for 3 hours (its big purchase) online to compare what I had learned with Scott looking at the brands I liked and comparing price, gear sets and brands etc..When I had narrowed it down and had a handle on what I wanted to spend, I brought my sheets and talked it over with Tom at the store. Tom talked it over with me and showed me other technology I was not aware of and suggested a bike I was first unsure of. But after his explanation on why it was the better move I agreed to except his advice and made my purchase. Its like buying a car and you know how youre never sure you can trust a car salesman. I am so happy with this bike!!! Man its like going from a Ford to a Porsche. Tom you are the man!! Thanks for your great advice. I love the bike so much I have been riding as much as I can . I bought some new thermal gear and I am going to ride all winter weather and dry roads permitting. Peace!

Went to buy a bike. The sales associate knew nothing and kept asking some dude for answers. He was too busy moving a bike to the back room to speak to me. $3k sales lost to wheel works. Would not do business with these guys

This is the best bike shop in Newport County. You will not be disappointed. Tom and his staff are great. They are fair and reasonable.

I wish I could say goods things about this shop as I have spent quite a bit of money there in support of local business. They used to be customer friendly but lately that has changed. They nickel and dime you for everything and when you try to have a conversation with them about it they are as rude as can be. No one other than Tom seems to know anything about the bikes except the price and when you go there for services they act as if they’re doing you a favor. Personally, I’m done.

Amazing service - and a great repair to my bike. I brought my bike to Ten Speed Spokes after the tape on the handle bars became soft and made my hands turn black whenever I rode (the result of the bike spending too much time in Florida and not enough in Newport).My bike was not in great shape when I brought it in, the tires were low and I was just hoping to get the tape changed. I told them they didnt need to fill the tires, that I would bring the bike back in the Spring when it was time to ride. They offered three different types of tape and I liked the texture of the Specialized, so I chose that.A week later, when I picked up the bike, the new tape was phenomenal (and felt really great around the bars) and the tires were pumped up. What could I do? - I put my bag in the car and took my bike for a spin around Newports point section, down Washington St. and around long wharf. As it was November, it was a little chilly but well worth the ride on a beautiful Fall day on my bike that had been made perfect by the wonderful team at 10 Speed spokes.Yes, I will bring my bike back to them in the Spring, and so should you!

Needed a rear spoke after mine fell apart changing a tire, they had a bin of cheap replacements to get me back on the road! Quick, cheap, friendly service. I highly recommend going if you are in need.

Spent $1,100 on a bike and was felt pushed out the door. I was asking questions about my bike and they did give me some of the answers but just didn’t feel the love.

I took my downhill bike to these guys because I was staying in Newport at the time and they have a very convenient location.My bike had an oil leak in the fork nothing too serious... after six weeks!!! they told me that they could not find the problem but they had put it back together, it seemed to be ok now and the bike was ready to be picked up, while riding the bike home from their store I noticed the headset was all tight and squeaky and on closer inspection noticed a tool mark on one of the fork tubes that looked like someone had used a vice grip or channel lock on it and the fork was still leaking oil. I was so angry I drove out to Providence Bicycles where I originally purchased the bike to get a damage report from them (should have taken it to them in the first place instead of being lazy and taking it to a local place) they agreed the mark on the fork looked like it was from a tool and pulled the headset apart to find that ten speed spokes had left out the bottom headset bearing when they put it back together!! I left it with them and they had the fork fixed and replace the missing bearing within a week (not six!). I then approached the guys at ten speed spokes with some photos of the damage to explain what happened and ask them to reimburse me for the bike being repaired by providence bicycles.They flat out denied damaging the fork and tried to blame it on me, refused to pay any reimbursement for the repairs by Providence Bicycles, refused to refund the $40 labour they had charged me to do nothing but abuse my bike and didnt really seem too bothered that they had forgotten to put the headset bearing back in but did eventually give me $25 to cover the cost of the bearing they lost.This is probably the worst customer service experience I have ever had!Long story short... If you are in Newport, dont really care about your bike too much then these guys will happily take your money.If you do care your bike at all take a half an hour drive to Providence Bicycles or any other store in the area and get it done right!

Tom was extremely helpful and patient with me and my husband. We went in unsure of what we wanted, and he helped us figure out the perfect fit. He did not try to upsell us at all. He has our business for life!

Ten Speed Spokes is the worst bike shop I have ever seen.... Tom or who ever it was.. was sitting there at 9:30am...when I asked to just use a pump to pump up tire.... He from ten ft away said sorry we open at 10....i get it that maybe you had a bad day but riding a bike is what its all about and you should not be a part of that culture go sell something else.... I would never recommend you to anyone I know... and i would never use your air... Good luck 👎👎👎👎

After alot of research my wife and I bought our new Stromer electric bikes from Ten Speed Spoke. The Stromer was not something that was on my radar but luckily Specialize had not released there 3.0 at the time I was looking. While waiting Tom introduced me to the Stromer. I liked the Stromer because it met all three things I was looking for. 1. The 28mph under $3k. 2. Battery options. 3. Quality built.Things that were a bit of a con was the weight and it required a heavy duty Thule car carrier.Tom understood I was not a avid bike rider and being 6.2, 300 pounds I was not going to be riding around in some tight bikeing outfit, not even a goal. I am glad Tom listen to my needs and introduced me to the Stromer. I now ride 3 or 4 times a week and my wife and I look for new trails to ride like East Bay. I ride around Newport all the time.I have had my Stromer for about two months and have had one problem and Tom found it to be a lose wire, fixed that day. Thanks Tom and team for the great buying experience, great service and finding us the perfect bikes.
