Hymie and the staff are very knowledgable and friendly about all aspects of the diving world. From listening to your wants and needs to being able to be practical in your approach and purchases. My diving experience with Hymie and Issac were especially great. My dive buddy and I were briefed about the area and what we could expect to see.Once under water they pointed out underwater life that we would not have noticed .Whether your a beginners or experience card this place has something to offer.Their knowledge and experience is something you need to experience.Dont pass this opportunity up!
I had a wonderful experience with The Dive Shop. I was able to go on my first night dive with Hymie and a number of other divers. He made the experience so much fun and was so welcoming. I felt so comfortable and was treated like Ive been going there for years even on my first visit to the shop. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to have a great time with an owner who is passionate about what he does.
I came in for a Saturday morning fun dive that I didnt know had been canceled. The owner Hymie waited until someone could cover the store and went diving with me himself. Really knowledgeable about the local dive spots, and couldnt have asked for better customer service. The shop has a great selection for whatever your diving interests are, I highly recommend them to anybody.
My wife and I just spent 2 hours here! Talked with the owner the whole time while shopping, getting tons of great information and suggestions. Super helpful on both warm water and cold water diving well be doing. Spent a little bit finishing off a couple things I needed, and started getting my wife some items as shes going to start diving. And was shown new masks with breather built in! Just attach your low pressure hose, and no regulator in your mouth. Awesome. (Pretty sure my wife will get one of these) Thanks for sharing your time and knowledge.
I went on a night dive and a early morning dive here. The owner and staff were very nice and easy going. I had a good dive experience and would recommend this shop to others.
Its unfortunate because I am new to the diving scene and was eager to gain experience. The Instructor Isaac was the only bright spot in that black hole of a rip off. The owner was horrible, tried his best to convince us of items we didnt need, deliberately lied, accused us of trying to ruin his business when returning a pair of booties, and continually made us feel uncomfortable as we went thru our dive certification. I have no idea how this guy is still in business. Stay away.
I had the privilege to meet Hymie and the staff of The Dive Shop yesterday. i arrived early for an afternoon dive. I immediately felt welcome and got a tour of their shop. when the employees were not busy with other customers, they all took the time to show me pictures, review the upcoming dive., ask me if I wanted to try spear fishing, full face mask, as well as offered several other options that I have never tried in the past. on the way out to our shore dive, Hymie asked if I wanted to take the direct route or the scenic route. having never been to the northeast before, i choose the scenic route. it was a wise decision.o have been diving for about 14 years and found The Dive Shop to be one of the friendliest shops ive visited.
I had a terrible experience with the store owner Hymie. I brought him over $2000.00 in business for myself and two friends to get certified and to buy gear. Yet, he threw a fit over a $4.00 credit card fee to return a set of goggles that I never used. He lied when it came to gear prices, and nickled and dimed us anyway he could. I would highly recommend getting certified by Isaac however, he was patient and knowledgeable and did the best he could to give us a good experience after the owner did his best to ruin it.
I dropped off a lot of dive gear to be serviced, 6 tanks, 4 regs, 1 bc and a dive computer on regulator. He asked me if I was in a hurry to have it done, I told him i didnt need it until Spring. When I went to go pick up my gear, the owner said he sold all of my dive gear and claimed that he left me a message and emailed me. I never gave him my email address so thats a lie. The man has been to our house to deliver dive gear to my brother, he has my dads phone number if he needed payment on the repairs he should have called my father, Instead he sold thousands of dollars worth of our gear, HES A THIEF DO NOT GO THERE
Saw the website with Saturday hours posted. Drove from Tiverton with 3 kiddos and Grand dad only to find the place closed. Does anyone know what is up with the shop?
I hope hymie responses to this but I just did my first open water dive and I really like the owner and Isaac. Unfortunately I think hymie is too much of a goofball. Sorry to say.
Came by Fri 8/5/16 at 1530 for a couple last minute dive trip needs to find the shop closed. Called the number once I found the shop closed to discover the owner took a vacation and would not be opening. This is the type of inconsistency that is killing the brick and mortar dive shop and driving people to online purchasing. Its a shame I had a very positive experience in the store previously but no longer plan on spending money here.
Has a lot of gear and a lot of knowledge. Helped me out in a jam and turned my day around.
After 35 years being a snorkeler, I now got my Open Water Certificate. It was being at Hymies shop that made me want to get it. Thanks!!!
Made my first beach dive. Amazing experience.
I would not give this person a dime he does not know about diving I will not even get an air fill from him even though he is 10 min away, I drive 45 minutes to get my fills to Giant Stride Dive Shop
One word......Horrible
