When we walked thru the doors, we were relieved to see shelves filled with products, unlike so many of our other regularly-visited stores whose shelves too often feature spaces empty except for the signs saying Out of Stock. But a friend & I spent over an hour (!) searching all the aisles for loosely defined project materials, to no avail. PLENTY of project kits for smaller children, but few (if any) kits for even teenagers.Disappointing to be certain but I suspect the thin inventory was just more evidence of our broken supply chain.More evidence? We did have a few items to purchase but only one of the registers was open; the one customer in front of us kept that lone checkout clerk busy for 20 minutes! ... despite there being 3 or 4 other employees floating on the floor (around 1pm).One, then two more customers got in line behind us but only after we advanced to checkout was a second register opened. Hardly a robust response to the circumstances.I empathize completely, but! had I been alone, I would have left much earlier.(Note to self: best to shop solo until COVID conditions improve.)Michaels does offer shop online/pickup in store - will try that next time. Maybe.
I would add a sixth star if I could. We had a terrific experience with custom framing at this location. Came in for a custom framing appointment with fourteen items (many delicate antiques) and few ideas. Staff were patient, helpful, and insightful (specific credit to Brett and Juliet). For the size of the job, the turnaround was outstanding and we couldnt be happier with how everything looks. This will definitely be our first stop for any custom framing in the future.
Great place to unwind and create🎯🎭🏆
Not stocked well? Maybe I just came right before they needed to restock but most of the shelves were pretty bare.
Double check to make sure merchandise are not broken or damaged. Be careful of online orders with unclear descriptions. Package arrived open and was left in the rain.
I don’t know how this location has such a high rating. I’ve been here now 5 times (including before covid). The store has NEVER been even half stocked, regardless of the day I go. Empty shelves everywhere. There’s also no one available to help if you have any questions. And the store is dirty. I tried giving y’all a few chances, but I won’t be back to this location.
Bigger than the one in Newton. Loved that they had displays of the craft carts and machines. There was no line and cashier was super helpful and friendly.
Nice collection that you all will need for projects.
Nice selection they have a good amount of clearance things everytime I come here
Friendly staff with patience and ideas, full shelves of products for making all kinds of things, great prices even before the sales... What more can you ask for in an arts and crafts store?
I almost had given up on finding the new Blue Moon resin, it was in a different place from the other resins. Stupid organization.
Very helpful staff. Merchandise well laid presented.
Nice place, you can get any art supply you can ever think of. Staffs are really friendly.Stocks are well displayed and marked properly.
This is a moderately sized location. I went in looking for double ended brush markers and had several options to choose from. The cashier was so kind and positive, she was definitely the highlight of my trip to the store!
Found everything I was looking for in no time. The store is so organised. The customer service at the registrar was HAPPY, CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. I do all my candle shopping there because theyre prices are sooooo reasonable. I have been going there for years and will continue to go.
A very good craft store. Their yarn supply never runs dry. If you need they have plain and simple
Customer service was excellent!
I Love Michaels because they have great arts and crafts
Ordered a frame from them and it was perfectly done. The staff is very helpful and professional
Got what I needed . Manager was very nice . I would enjoy working there
Awesome as always. Probably why the place was packed. A very long line for check out but moved right along. Also some really good mark downs. Oh one thing theres a small charge for bags. 20 cents and dont forget your email addressExtra savings
Why are the shelves always half empty? I can never tell if they are having a going out of business sale or just dont have staff to restock
Very small selection, empty shelves
Michaels is very convenient, right on Needham St. off of RTe.128{rte.95).The store is large and has all of the items you need for art, hobbies and toys.Well stocked, reasonable prices and convenient parking.Recommend highly.
Great place to shop for anything from office supplies, to art equipment, to holiday decorating and lots of Xmas wrapping paper. Bonus. Sells knitting( yes, knitting) supplies including yarn, needles and thread.
Great store. You will find everything for arts and crafts here. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Meh, it is a very bright uncomfortable environment. Of course they have many of the items any artists would require but the experience of the place definitely does not express any sort of creativity and it comes off blank and austere like a very large bathroom with art supplies. Well the truth is it wasnt particularly clean so in that way unlike a bathroom. I would actually rather pay more and go to a place with a nice environment then go to what is essentially the Walmart of art.
Everything you need for school art projects 👍
Luv coming to this place for all my DIY craft projects. They have a great selection, new ideas for holidays, fun ideas for either just you or a group setting and the staff is so helpful and pleasant!
Staff is super nice, but selection seemed very limited
Clean, well marked and very friendly staff. Nice to see real Clearance items
Seems each week Michaels is dropping prices, which has been a godsend for as Im getting married in 3wks and was in desperate need of all things floral decor!! Ive been to this location twice now. Clean store, well organized and staff are super helpful. 80% off today!!
Love this store! They are following social distancing and cdc regulations. Staff is super friendly!
Helpful and friendly staff. Huge supply of craft items. Found what I wanted.
The shelves were mostly emptied and things were definitely in the wrong spot, I bought some things that Ive wouldnt have gotten for the price I paid, and the girl at the register was rushing me..
I hope Michaels takes a lot of ideas from AC Moore. Have not been happy with floral items here or other things that AC Moore did the best. There are some things that was ok but didnt want to go that far to get simple things.
Young staff is very quick, skillfull and welcoming
#1st time/ last time!Very disappointed, first time shopping here and asked an Asian employee for an item pertaining to a cake. He simply said he didnt know If they had the item and that no other employee was going to know if the item was there or not. So thanks.
Clean and great barriers for safety.
Love me some Michaels. Is it sad that Ive gone to the store 4 times in one week. They alway have something i need for work, craft and my mimi business
Lots is stuff, great coupons, and the staff is helpful
The lack of social distancing at the checkout area made me drop everything and leave.
This is a fairly small Michaels with limited selection. I went before Thanksgiving for some fall decor and they had absolutely nothing, not even in clearance. Everything was already turned over to Christmas.. a little disappointing.
Well organized store. You can fine almost everything crafted related. A very small variety of fabric, which was disappointing. Store equipped with bathroom and changing table!
Nice atmosphere. Well-stocked, helpful employees, pleasingly aesthetics
I went to get flosses for cross stitch. They didn’t have many of the colors and none of the new additions to the DMC collection of colors. The cashiers were nice though, and they answered the questions I had. It’s a pity that Michaels is not trying to add the new items to their stores
Really good staff, and very helpful. Good selection of supplies, got everything I needed for scrapbooking. Love the 40% off coupon you can find online.
Michaels are weird stores. As crafting/art stores theyre expensive and their products are lower-end. But they also have these oddly compelling dollar-store selections of candy, toys, housewares, and vaguely seasonal junk. This was is crowded and the lines for the register are long. If it werent 5 minutes from our house wed never go. Check out the Lakeshore Learning across the street.
The staff here is friendly and they have a good selection. Ive had a piece of art framed by them and it turned out great. The woman at the framing counter was very helpful, though really only after I told her I was interested in custom framing. I started by asking about the standard frames for a different piece of art and she wasnt quite as friendly even though there werent any other customers. Still, they do a great job for a very reasonable price.
Great selection and staff are very helpful.
Always good deals on the web! Got a great low price on custom framing. Staff was super nice and helpful! No pressure sales or upsells, just honest assistance which I really appreciated
Had 2 pictures framed. When dropping off, had to wait 45 minutes to get waited on. 3 weeks later, when picking up the 2 pictures, one was done COMPLETELY wrong. Now I have to go back after they fix it. I have been a good customer and had many things framed there. Rethinking that going forward.
Great art selection, but it is a little pricey. Good thing there are usually a lot of deals and coupons. Check online for coupons because they usually have 40 or 50 percent off deals.
Excellent
Service, spot-on suggestions as to how to accomplish my project
They didnt have what I was looking for exactly, but the staff was very helpful. In fact I observed one staff member help multiple children with ideas for their school projects, it was very sweet and they were great ideas. Also, great deals on seasonal decorations!
This Michaels seems a bit bare internally, compared to most visited. It is waxed floors, metal shelves and some organization by aerial signs. A Split level shop, with the art supplies located on the upper floor, including the framing department. It can be a dicey left turn out of the frontage road, so exiting at the wrong time of day is tedious. Small catch all shop for home style art projects. The paint department is hit or miss for supplies.
Only place around that has all the specialty craft supplies. Broad photo frame selection. Took away star because prices can be high if youre not using their coupons or items not on sale that week.
Great spot for craft and DIY supplies. They could use a bit more signage in their aisle descriptions, as I found myself searching for nearly 30 minutes finding a list of four things. Staff could be more customer-focused, both on the floor and at the registers.
Just love to shop at this store I buy my yarn there and it is cheap
Lots of interesting stuff but what is really terrific is the staff - ask them for the tiniest thing and they tell you right where to look, or even walk you there!!!!! Genius!!!!!
Unfriendly staff. They dont want to help you. Be glad you have a job!! Aisles are full of carts etc... Not easy to move around
I came to buy more yarns for my mom. Selection was very good. I also bought bamboo neddles for socks. They prevent sliding out of loops. Happy.
Nice, clean store. Got some pretty cool crafts :)
Great sales but could not find an associates to assist or offer help
Still cant believe what I heard. Sorry some time and found a couple of the items I was looking for. Went to check-out and only two registers open with at least three more closed and five or six employees milling around. I asked one of I could pay at the upstairs register and was told simply no. I remarked at the long winding line with two registers in use, that reply was nothing we can do. Well be this busy right through January, why,are you going to leave? I politely said I was seriously considering it and hey response was ok rather than oh if you could wait another minute Ill see if maybe we can open another register and move the line along. There was a larger ratio of people waiting in line than actually looking at items in the aisles than Ive seen anywhere. Reminiscent of the old Shoppers World Mall in Framingham as they were going out of business.
Fall decor on sale!
Very friendly staff at this medium size arts and crafts shop. This is definitely a more pleasant experience than some of their larger stores, though they dont always have as many things in stock.
An amazing place to shop. Hard to stick to my list with so many bargains and online coupons..
Lots of good stuff. Well organized and clean. Art classes are well supplied.
Was fine. Didnt have have what I was looking for.
Remember the coupons and forget your worries, pretend it is the 80s or 90s again 💎 then you get to checkout and the candy and fidget spinners remind you youre post melenium and it all comes crashing down!Highly recommend, its like an emotional rollercoaster where at the end you step off with art supplies 👩🎨🖼️🎨🖌️👨🎨
Pretty good size and good prices on items.
Easy to park. Had what i was looking for, even items I didnt think theyd have. Couldnt find something but their people knew right where it was.
Nice arts and crafts store. Huge variety of merchandise for home and/or garden.
Good hobby store. Has a lot of choice. The prices are sometimes twice as expensive as Amazon, but they often have big discounts.
Honestly, its always full of customers but there are never enough knowledgeable staff members to help you. If you know exactly what you want and where it is, youll be fine. If you need help, this may not be the place for you. Too understaffed (friendly, but not enough of them)
Good crafts supplies but pricey.
I shop here for extra supplies for projects as I am a teacher. Always fun to stop and browse as well
So many things to choose from. I thought I was going to overload from having so many choices when looking for a hobby. Only wish there were more unpolished river stone options for rock painting and they need bigger signs for their many many aisles. Too easy to get lost.
A wonderful location. Very helpful and friendly employees. Plenty of parking, clean and spacious store.
Perfect place to find everything for your handcraft
Great for DIY projects or just to browse. It gets a little crazy on weekends, but theres always generous online coupons to use - they can scan them straight from your phone.
This review is for Jen who works at the store and was the cashier that helped me yesterday. She is polite, very helpful with the sale prices, personable and all you want an employee to be.She is an asset to Michaels.
Huge variety of frames!!
There is a lot to see and very useful craft and art making gadgets and material there. However their gardening stuff is very basic. And in general it is a bit pricy.
Other than pandemic restrictions it was good
I had an amazing time at one of the biggest Michaels Ive been in. They have two floors of crafting items from cricut supplies to slime an Squishies. Then canvas and paint to cake decorating and more!!
I always find what I need for crafts and I love all vintage stuffs they have. If you love crafts and arts you will fall in love with this place
Bought my first Christmas Tree with a great deal here!
Nice clean place to get craft items.
Ok I feel bad giving a three but it tries to be everybody’s craft store and and up being mediocre. Went there recently for some heavy duty craft paper and there was Martha Stewart and a few generics. Not much above 176 g/sm.
Great store for arts and crafts. They always have sales going on.
Fun shop for seasonal decorations, or arts and craft stuff
