Once you get past the front end retail staff, this place seems to have the expected level of expertise. I had two experiences in-store between speaking with the ski and the ski boot fitting teams, and both were knowledgeable. The product range was limited and they didn’t have in stock what they sold me on so that was disappointing. The front of house staff on both occasions in-store were rude to me and my companions in the store, disinterested in our questions, and left you feeling unwelcome. Several people I went to the store with made similar comments to me, all independently of one another. This experience was replicated over the phone during the two instances when I spoke to them. This level of customer service is far below expectations and why I won’t go back there.
Had an amazing experience getting new boots after riding out my last set for over 20 years!. Ryan was nice, thorough and clearly loves what he does. I highly recommend Boston Ski & Tennis for all your ski boot needs.
My go-to place for everything tennis. They probably have the best racket demo program in town. They have pretty much all the rackets I wanted to try before purchase. I am so glad that I took advantage of the demo program because they were a few rackets that didnt gel with my playing style at all. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
Conveniently located. Accessible parking. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Good selection. Fair prices.
Will not string a slight damaged racket. Waited like 20 mins just to hand over a racket for stringing
I purchased a Junior size Y Suspender for kid snow pants before my ski trip on Dec. 21, 2019. Later I found the product did not fit during the trip. When I returned it to the store on Jan. 11 today, I was very disappointed to find that the store only has a 14 day return policy. I can only get a store gift card for the refund. Not a frequent shopper in this store, I do not see when will be my next time to shop there. The 25 dollar on the card could be forever forgotten. I requested if the store manager can give an one-time exception refund to me, but No, said the store manager. I learned the lesson and will avoid shopping in this store in the future.
Terrible customer service. The Demo program has tons of rules, one of which is they cancel it if you buy a racquet before 30 days. The manager (Janie) angrily told me that she explained this on the phone...which never happened. Never talked to her on the phone. taking my business elsewhere.
Super friendly, patient staff and highly knowledgeable in all areas. We rent our skis from here every year! Well worth the drive to Newton for a first class experience. Also, I may be biased because they are fellow SC Gamecock fans, as we discovered last week, but oh well!
I bought ski boots. Other stuff I dont know about. The boots are very expensive, but doing the fitting is worth it if youre going to keep the boots for a long time and you get really good boots. So not good for kids, very good for adults who have skied a lot and arent going to need to change boots.
Great place to get tennis racquet restrung! Very helpful staff who offered suggestions for which type of strings to get. I also got a new over grip here and they offered to put it on the racquet for me, which is very accommodating and they did a much better job than I would have done myself!
Finally Performance Ski Boots and ComfortDan did a fantastic job last weekend fitting my new ski boots so I could have great performance and comfort. In addition to having an excellent overall process, Dan was knowledgeable, thorough, and is a great asset to BS&T in Newton. Should have had a professional boot fitting like this done years ago. Well worth the $!Thanks for a great experience and result!Patrick Carberry Marshfield, MA
Loved their rent a racquet scheme; for $30 they will lend you 2 racquets every week for 3 weeks. And if by then end of those 3 weeks you decide to buy a new one, the $30 will be discounted from the new racquets price.
Great boot-fitting experience! The staff is incredibly knowledgable and patient when helping you find the best boots for you. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for new boots or just to get theirs adjusted!
Bought a new pair of ski boots earlier this season from BST. I worked with Shane in a boot fitting session and purchased a new set for this season and beyond. Shane did a great job in educating me on ski boots and how they need time to break in and encouraged me to come back if there were any fit issues after the liner was packed. After about 7 days on the slopes my right boot was fitting a little bit tight and numbing up my foot. Brought it in to Shane today and he bumped out the shell on my right boot, very slightly, and now I have a perfect fit.I strongly recommend BST and Shane if you are in the market for new ski boots, these guys know what they are doing!
Wonderful experience. Really put the customer and our experience first. Helped us problem solve (finding skis for toddler). Very helpful and kind
Great customer service!
Great for ski tuning and a quick turnaround. Will definitely be back for my all my skiing needs!
Their store manager lady is terrible. I returned a tennis shoe < 24 hrs after i bought it (2 year old model). They would not give full credit because there were two strands of pet hair on the sole of shoe (i tried it for 1 min at home). Ive have spent upwards of $3000 at this store on ski gear. I was going to outfit my kids with skis and boots (probably another $3000). They just lost a customer.
I have gone to BST for my seasonal ski rentals for years now. Their process is efficient and their knowledgable staff is second to none. I was in and out within 30 minutes. Highly recommend!
Best boot fitting ever! Go here if youre having any trouble with your boots
Unreal store! Very friendly and helpful staff. They have a great offering and really go the extra mile to make sure the customer experience is superb. BST sets the bar for new-age retail.
I have visited ski shops across the country and Boston Ski + Tennis was among the best.Their boot lab & technicians were fantastic and had me in a high performance, comfortable fit in no time. Highly recommended and a repeat customer. Thanks to the entire team! Pray for snow!
Best Staff. Best service. They also match prices with tenniswarehouse or tennisexpress. A+++I just wish that the labor for stringing a racket is less than $25 which is 3 times the price of a string. Other than that, it is an awesome place to get your tennis gear. They always have the latest rackets models available.
This place is really the best spot around for both ski and tennis gear. Every single employee I’ve worked with has been polite, professional, and knowledgeable. They offer affordable ski rentals and a great tennis demo program. Highly recommend.
Went to get ski boots the day after Christmas because I had a boot emergency and needed boots quickly. I was apprehensive about new boots as I had my last pair for 10 years and they were the first pair I really liked. So I wanted good boot fitters and this fit the bill. I recommend making an appointment. I went as a walk in and waited 1 1/2 hrs but I had to get boots. I bought a pair and skied on them 3 days and they fit well. Snug enough and no pain. The down side...same boots are $30-40 less everywhere else.
$25 down payment. They don’t offer anything shorter than seasonal rentals. No helmet rentals. If you’re going on a weekend ski trip (or maybe 2) ITS NOT WORTH IT. You will be paying around $400+
Stay away from this place unless you look for worst customer service and fake courtesy coupled with ignorance. Strung my tennis rackets 3 or 4 times, they used wrong tension, then wrong string, then a single piece of string instead of two. The manager named Lydia is not interested in listening - does not care to address the problem, knows nothing about stringing or tension, claims that it is impossible to measure tension on a strung racket, which is either a total ignorance or blatant lie, as you can get a simple device for $ 20 on Amazon that does that. They are always there to give you a fake smile though with the worst customer experience.
Boston Ski + Tennis is the best! We have been going there for years as we have been getting our seasonal ski rentals for our 3 growing kids as well as all the associated gear, ranging from helmets, coats and pants. The staff is fantastic, knowledgeable and most of all - friendly. I recommend making an appointment if going for rentals because they tend to be busy as they are the best shop around!
Great staff. Good selection of ski products and apparel. Ive rented ski and boots for my child for the second time this year. Great deal and super convenience rental service for the whole ski season.
Ashamed to admit I paid the ludicrous 75$ (real ski shops near the mountains will do it for 25$) for a ski mount at this store and guess what? They messed it up.
Best service regarding tennis raquets and stringing. Bonus 10% discount off apparel if you belong to an athletic club. Dont be intimidated if you are just getting more into tennis. Explain to them your strengths, weaknesses and they will treat you right.
I bought myself my first new pair of ski boots. I was so impressed with the attention to details of what they do to get you in the correct boot. I ended up getting my son new boots and will probably get my girls new boots. ( Now that they wont need new boots every year)
Very helpful and honest staff - they did not try to upsell me, but rather told me what would actually work for me (even if it meant me shopping somewhere else). Quick turnaround for ski teching, and honest pricing. Great experience here.
Pricey but you get what you pay for. Very friendly and knowledgeable service in all departments. I highly recommend their ski boot fitter. Theyll put you in exactly what you need and adjust the boot throughout the season until they are just right.
We utilized the in home ski rental service and were extremely happy with the convenience and excellent service. Ryan was awesome with our three kids who all walked away saying how nice he was. Having just moved to the area we will definitely be using this service every winter!
My sister and I both bought new boots this year. The boot fitters were amazing and extremely knowledgeable. They were patient with my sister, who is new to skiing, and were as good if not better than the boot fitters I have used out west and at Sugarbush. Their new store also has a very nice boot fitting room that is a much improved setting than their old store.
Andrew set me up with some great boot adjustments and was a pleasure to work with!!
Just left the Newton store. I returned $199 dollar snow pants with tags and receipt and they will not give money back, only a store credit if not returned in 14 days. I bought them 17 days ago. When I pressed on this policy, the manager said “ We’re a small company”.While I should have looked at the fine print on thereceipt I think a 14 day policy is absurd. I will go back and spend my store credit and never go there again.
Great service and great staff. I purchased my first pair of ski boots and ski here, and boot fitting staff spend quite some time with me to choose the right one. And after about four weeks, they helped me with free on-site boot mold. Will definitely recommended this place to everyone.
I had a great experience. Mike knew what he was talking about and he steered me in the right direction. I love my new Blizzard skis. I would never have bought these without his guidance.
Great service, selection and most important, great staff! Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, they were able to help me find the perfect skis for the coming winter. I was only in the area for the weekend to visit family - they had me in and out of their store in under an hour. Highly recommended.
I’ve gone through 3 ski shops and as many pairs of ski boots trying to get a good fit. A ski buddy finally convinced me to try Boston Ski and Tennis (Newton). Though it took a few return visits, my bootfitter Ryan stuck with it and now for once in my life I have a pair of boots that are tight, comfortable (we put in 6 hour days when we ski) and responsive. If you have oddball feet (like I do), I highly recommend Fischer Vacufit and Boston Ski and Tennis!
Previously had used Ski Stop which I liked. Was acquired by Boston Ski and Tennis. I was skeptical but they have won me over. Interacted with Ryan and Jeff on a boot issue and ski tuning. They were friendly, responsive and knowledgable. Thumbs up!
Nice place to get your skis serviced. They also offer season reantals at very reasonable prices.
Fantastic staff. Not just polite and knowledgeable, but seemed to really enjoy helping my wife and I. If youre going in for a new racket, I would highly recommend checking out their used demos for purchase, great deals on quality hardware.
Took my 3 grandchildren to be fitted for seasonal ski rental package the service we received from Jamie was great she was very patient with the girls and explained all the details. My three grandchildren would like to thank Jamie for her time and help.
Knowledgeable staff, answered all my questions. Felt attended to and was very satisfied with my purchase
DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU SNOWBOARD!!! From the 5 people I talked to only 1 knew anything. The others gave falsely confident terrible wrong information, and got defensive when disagreed with. I was told my new deck didnt need new wax because it was new. In reality it had the thinnest coat of factory wax. I should have taken that as a red flag but I needed it done so I left the board. Picked it up today with the most subpar waxing Ive ever seen. Very uneven with thick cakes on either end. I will not be returning and would give 0 stars if possible. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR BOARD, STAY AWAY!!!
Very average ski shop. They use $25 foot beds that they charge for $100, Go to ski monster in Boston, it has more options and they know more about the ski industry.
Excellent boot fitting and very helpful staff. Need ski boot work and skis tuned on short notice. Excellent!
My son and I both worked with Jeff for our boot fitting. I cant speak highly enough of his skill and experience
We tried to rent jr skis today and my sons boot size was 8. so they fitted him with an adult boot. and wanted to charge adult rates. Beware!!!. When i tried to ask for the Jr rate of $130 they said it does not apply. They had me walk away. I asked to see the policy or a manager, but nobody available and the policy was not written anywhere. She also tried to avoid to give us the free Bretton Woods pass, saying it is for under 12 and not 12yo. When I asked her to look at the brochure, she said she was wrong. Never go there!!!we used to do tennis equipment there, but not happy with the skis
Nice variety of clothes, jackets and many more... Beauty products were with wide range and cheaper..
I purchased a new racquet and they strung it at the wrong weight. When I brought the racquet back they said they would string it again but I had to pay for the strings. Seemed unfair but it was for my daughters birthday so I reluctantly said fine. However, when I picked it up a few hours later they charged me $13 for strings and $36 for labor!! In the end I had to pay over$50 for the mistake THEY made to get my daughter’s gift back. Would not recommend this pace to anyone!!!
Searching for Ski gloves...Great spot...LOTS of people in store getting fitted for boots...skis...etc...
Great shop. Quality employees. Very helpful and willing to help.
Great service with all types of equipment for tennis and skiing. Professional service from all staff members.
Friendly staff. Reasonable price.
Great service great celection they deserve the business.
Great racquet selection during the tennis season: Head Babolat Wilson but also Yonex and Volkl. Staff is friendly. Have a decent choice of strings maybe 30 kinds, the top 6-7 models of tennis shoes in store during the winter season but not all colorways. Buying from this store when they have what I am looking for.
Best boot fitters around!
Two years ago I took my then 16 year-old son there for skis. After interviewing him extensively and learning that he wanted twin tip skis, the salesman said I have a couple styles that I could sell you but, honestly, it sounds to me like the Volkl Bridges would be the best ski for you. However, I dont carry that particular ski. He then referred me to a shop that did. I was stunned - to me this was the absolute pinnacle of honesty and customer service. We did go elsewhere to purchase the Bridges. But weve been going back ever since for my own equipment and that of my 3 other kids. They know their stuff. As one reviewer pointed out, the waits can sometimes be long on weekends if its just before ski season.
Expert and courteous staff. Great great to rent or buy.
One of the best service Ive had ... also they kbow a lot about skiing
Everything is way overpriced. you can find the same stuff for cheaper on amazon.
Been going there for years to rend skiing gear for my kids. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, and family owned.
By far the best staff Ive dealt with for tennis equipment and service. They know their stuff.
Great service and nice store. My only complaint is that it was too busy and I had to wait a long time to be helped.
Very nice selection of quality tennis gear.
Staff is knowledgeable and very attentive
