Phenomenal donuts! The everything bagel is so creative & unique - its soft and delicious and has the perfect ratio of cream cheese to donut. Bonus that the filling does not spill over! Lemon matcha was a seasonal flavor and was also exceptional. Featured sharp lemon curd. The quality of both the donut and the fillings surpassed my expectations of what a donut could be. These are absolutely worth it!

Enjoyed an everything doughnut and a chocolate frosted doughnut. Shop was clean and had easy parking options all around the downtown area. Great area to walk around, dip in and out of lots of shoppes/restaurants.

Got a Lemon Poppy Fritter. We had been waiting weeks to try this donut as it had always been sold out. Finally got the last one of the day today. I’m not sure if it was burnt, but the dough was super tough and hard to chew. The flavor was neither of lemon nor poppyseed. It sort of tasted charred. I’ve had other donuts from here that were just fine. But stay away from the lemon poppy fritter

I stop by this place once every week or two, while taking my son to an appointment in the area. Weve all enjoyed exploring the rotating menu of seasonal flavors. Not all are winners, but the novelty value itself is worth it even if an occasional flavor isnt to our taste. The doughnuts seem to be good quality, and I personally like the matcha latte to go with them to cut down the sweetness a tad. The only downside is falling in love with a flavor only for it to disappear the next month.

Good donuts but when you buy a dozen without specifying you get a bunch of doubles. Why wouldnt you do one of each when you have 9 types, and three repeats? I was also the first person in the store at opening so nothing was out of stock. Maybe it was my fault assuming I would get each type but we literally missed two that we were looking forward to, and got a bunch of glazed and glazed with sprinkles. I also tipped 25% (which was the minimum on there POS without typing your own value). Not too excited about it, teach your staff to max a proper gift box and Ill change my review

Super excited Blackbird opened in Newton! I’ve been a customer for years in Boston. Happy to have great doughnuts outside the city...finally!Yummy and lots of unique flavors. The everything doughnut is actually so good and tastes just like a bagel...seems weird on the surface for sure!I love how Blackbird has beverages like coffee! Newton Centre lacks local coffee shops so it’s awesome to have this option!!I visited on a Saturday morning and found the staff very friendly and helpful! I’ll obviously be back!!

Friend of ours gave us a Blackbird gift card and we never used it until we found out there was a blackbird location in Newton. I love small business shops because the designs are awesome and the employees have great customer service and have good attitudes. The donuts are so good and the flavors taste as good as they sound. Never going to Dunkin’ Donuts again

My partner and I love blackbird donuts! The donuts are always such a perfect texture and they have fun flavors, which we love trying every month. Our absolute favorite was the Snowball donut which we hope to see again soon!! 👀

The Asian cashier is very unfriendly. We happened to be Asians too. So she was giving us a very bad vibe. While I was waiting for my drink, I saw her have a very friendly attitude towards a white customer. We will never go again.

We have been wanting to try this place for a year! They just switched to their October menu & we were so happy to try them! The flavors are amazing. The smoreo and the pumpkin cheesecake were so good! The apple cider glaze had so much apple flavor. The only thing we didn’t love was the chocolate sprinkle. The chocolate icing had a unique taste. My kids said it tasted like “coffee”. 🤣 I think it may have been a darker chocolate icing but it wasn’t my favorite. Their plain vanilla was also great. I was not expecting to like The everything bagel donut but it was really really good. The cookie is good as well. Crunchy and soft. The staff was nice. Bakery was clean.

You can never eat other pretend donuts after youve had a Blackbird Donut! This Newton location is as sleek and modern as the others. Even my chai tea was delicious enough to complement my mango donut.

Super cute location, very nice employees, solid coffee/espresso (if fairly spartan for options). And oh boy, dont get me started on those doughnuts!! Excellent rotation of specialty types and the standards are to die for. The cookie donut especially is fantastic, for all that its just a big ol cookie. Only thing thats not perfect is that parking nearby can be a hassle, but if you order ahead, you can usually idle somewhere nearby and just run in, because service is fantastically quick.

Disappointed in my last experience. Which is not like my normal experiences. Purchased a few donuts and JUST as we were walking out the cashier girl asked the other team member “if the donuts were still good/ okay to sell” after I JUST bought one. A little concerning? Why she needed reassurance and why I just bought one and had to hear that as if they were no longer “fresh” or something. Gross.

The donuts are great. The staff is exceptional!!! They are so warm and welcoming. It is a must experience. Expect to walk out having spent much more than you intended and for the experience to be more than worth it.

Definitely disappointing! Were my expectations too high? I am certainly not a donut connoisseur, but over my lifetime I have had those that definitely stand out. This was not one of them. Pricing out at over $40 a dozen - will NOT be going back. On the plus side the service was great and employees were friendly.

Flavor selection wasnt big, but it was unique. Wasnt a big fan of the flavor selection, but you might be. Donuts were ok in terms of taste, but very expensive, roughly double that of a dunks.

Donuts are great. But everything else is a mess.I just wanted to order some donuts and try them from this location. After 20 minutes of standing in a short line, I get in. Small display case of donuts 3 or 4 wide. No labels. Cant tell what they are.Staff are visibly frazzled and defensive if you bring up the issues. Everyones supposed to be wearing a mask. But one kid has the mask only covering his mouth and not his nose.For the people who thought they could avoid this mess by ordering online, they wind up milling around outside wondering if they have to get in line to pick up their stuff.
