Cat and Lisa are Godsends!! We were looking for a recliner for my father because of his severe back pain. They were so attentive, compassionate and diligent in getting him what he needed. As his issues worsened, the were so accommodating and caring. They made phone calls and arrangements for us to get my dad what he needed. I NEVER thought that going to this store would impact our family as it had. It has been such a difficult time as my father was in excruciating pain, and has since passed...and we are forever grateful for Cat and Lisa for making my dads last days as comfortable as possible...and to my mother and I for feeling we had support and love as we were trying to give my dad as much peace as possible...
I brought my 90 year old father in law in who is in great pain. He wanted a massage chair. We worked with Kat who was fantastic. My father in law is a retired physician who can be difficult at times to say the least. He went back at least 5 times and Kat was always great with him. Eventually he bought a chair from her and it has been a god send. Thank you Kat and thank you relax the back. Great customer service, delivery and set up and dealing with my father in law.
I visited this store recently on the recommendation of a coworker. I arrived to find a woman sitting in a chair on her phone and she yelled hello from the chair and asked what I was looking for, she did this all while she remained seated. (I later found out her name is Diane) I have never been greeted like that from any other store. I told her I was in to look at some back pillows for my car since I travel all around New England for work. She talked to me about some items all while remaining seated. I listened for a minute but then decided to leave and go elsewhere. I get better service at Walmart. This is a very high priced store and I expected better treatment then what I received there. Perhaps that’s why the store was empty because you don’t make your customers feel important since the saleswoman didn’t even bother to get up until I said I’m all set and was walking out the door. My advice to you is you get some friendly people working there. Very negative vibe.
Lisa Dec assisted me in selecting an amazing chair. She was patient and helpful as I tried various models and kept going back and forth with indecision. She also made an effort to get me the best price available and came to my home to help adjust the various knobs and levers to my needs.
Purchased Gel Pillows from Kathleen Anderson. Pillows work great. They fixed my sore neck from sleeping on the wrong pillows. Kathleen was very knowledgeable in what was needed to fix my sore neck. She also explained how the different bed frames work and the mattress materials and structure. In the future Ill be going back to Relax the back in Newton to purchase a new frame and mattress.
Super aggressive saleswoman, pushy towards my elderly relative. Was shocked, and so was my relative, as I came to buy her a gift. Reported this extreme aggresion to corporate. The saleswoman would not stop trying to force sell any chair to elderly relative. Annoying, and embarrassing. Other locations have been wonderful. Never again at this location !

Purchased a Lifeform office desk chair from Relax the Back - basic materials (not leather upgrade). The chair is so comfortable and great for my back and posture. The experience of buying at Relax the Back was great as well - the process was relaxed, informative, all questions answered and the chair was delivered to me and put together for me.
If you buy a product, dont be suprised if they sell and then ditch you. I understand things happen but a store should be proactive and be contacting the customer, not the customer chasing the store.Purchased a chair from this store 10 days ago. I was told that there was one chair left in stock and would receive a call early in the week to schedule delivery. I didnt hear from anyone by Wednesday so I called the store and left a message. No one returned the call. Called the next day, a nice guy answered the phone, said he wasnt sure what happened and the salesperson would call me later that day or the next. The next day, still no one had called. I called a third time. Reached a pleasant person who said the chair was delivered to someone else, there would be a slight delay but I would hear from someone by Saturday or Monday at the latest. Never heard from anyone. This is the 4th time Ive had to call the store. Not holding my breath that someone will call me back.
2 star review for simply lack of customer service . I walked in specifically looking for anything I could add ice to for my husbands bad knee after doing some research online, this was the place to go, and a sales woman by the name of Diana greeted me, from the recliner. I proceeded and asked my questions and she of-course had questions to ask me as well to what my thought was, to better help me find the right item to purchase. She told me they did not carry anything of such, from the recliner, I mean she did not bother to get up and show me the different items carried in your store. I was almost out the door when a kind gentlemen stopped me and as he apologized deeply, showed me the different selections and different options. I was pretty upset at the thought that I had driven almost 45 minutes from home and my commute would’ve been for no reason had it not been for this kind gentlemen. I did not feel welcomed nor wanted at the store due to this woman’s lack of morals and professionalism, completely disrespectful and unthoughtful. I mean what kind of sales associate does this. How does this lady have a job ! Thanks to the young man, is the only reason I gave this review 2 stars at all. I could not proceed with my purchase so I did walk out empty handed, first impressions count.
Not having ever reviewed on google, I wasnt aware I couldnt edit reviews. I want to update my status. I was called from the store first thing after posting my review. She took great care not only to apologize but to set things right. Theyre coming out today with a temporary chair until the new pad arrives and threw in an extra. Things can go wrong, its always about what you do after to make them right! This store did that.

Just off the phone with Chris Prince, supposedly manager for Boston stores. Order in question is a $7k bed we ordered ten days ago with a guaranteed delivery timeframe of 5-7 days in order to have in place before my mother starts chemo unexpectedly. Discussed all of this repeatedly and explicitly with the store manager and representative. Now a day before scheduled delivery, we get a call from Chris saying they never should have promised delivery in any timeframe and they cannot deliver the bed tomorrow. They also cannot advise when or if they can even deliver the bed this week. He offered no solutions, no apologies, no remediation. Our only option was to cancel the order altogether. Can’t wait to see the going out of business signs for this terrible operation. Never been so disgusted with a customer service experience - not sure whether the operations or the managers lack of caring are more offputting but either way will never do business with them again. Buyer beware.
This is the first time that Ive written an online review, but felt I really needed to because this is a wonderful store! I bought a Lifeform desk chair last spring because of a chronic shoulder injury. Not only was the staff very helpful in the store, but a staff member also delivered the chair and helped me set it up ergonomically. I no longer have the shoulder problem. The other day, one of the screws on the arm rest fell out and I called the store, not sure what to do. In one day, Lisa was here and quickly fixed the problem - at no charge!

Ive been having horrible shoulder pain, but actually went into the store with my boyfriend so he could look at chairs (he works from home). We spoke with Kat (not sure on the spelling), and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. She explained that its not only the chair that helps, but the setup of the desk. She went on to say that if your desk isnt set up right, you can get horrible shoulder and forearm pain. I told her about my situation, and she said she is a massage therapist and that posture is key. She suggested a Lumo Lift, which is a wearable piece of technology that helps remind you when youre slouching. I knew I had to have it, but I wanted my Flexible Spending Account to pay for it so I needed approval from my doctor.When I came back, I was helped by Chris. He listened to what I thought I needed, and suggested different products. I even brought him my desk height, the height of my chair and pictures. This helped him to get the best idea of my work area. He suggested a lumbar support cushion/wedge and the Lumo Lift and since then, my pain has almost been non existent! They were right! Before I even got home, I received an email from Chris thanking me for visiting the store, and reviewed what we had talked about. What a personal touch! I felt like he really took the time to get to know me and what my situation was, which no one does anymore.The staff at this store really know what theyre talking about and they are amazing at what they do, and such friendly, personable people!Thank you!!
My wife and I purchased technogel pillows here two years ago and just bought a new technogel bed from RTB Newton. Chris was very friendly and helpful, and not too pushy like many bed stores.Update - we spent a couple months on our mattresses and regretted not getting a softer model. Lisa helped us upgrade our Technogel mattresses, honoring the sale discount we received at initial purchase, and waived an additional delivery fee. We are super happy with RTB and love our Technogel bed.
I got a chair here for my office and its made a real difference.

The manager, Lisa, was extremely helpful in assisting solving my problem with uncomfortable drivers seat in new Audi A4. She was knowledgeable about the possible solutions and allowed me to take several pieces without payment for a few days trial.
Terrible customer service. They tell you whatever you need to hear to make the sale. They promised us a bed was in stock and then told us it couldn’t be delivered. Go elsewhere - anywhere else!
The services received were more than expected. To a person the staff extended an interest and concern that made shopping eventful.
