I have been using Central Import for my car needs for close to 5 years now, never has there been any issues with the services they have provided.The owner Eric is a genuine and good guy. If I ever stop by with any questions he gives me his full attention and helps with what ever it is. He even answers my questions after hours!I believe this is the perfect shop for anyone looking for on time repairs at a better price than any dealership could offer.

A co-worker suggested I try CIA for a timing belt replace on my 2001 Miata. I was so impressed with Eriks knowledge that I had him perform the work. They did an excellent job and saved me at least $200. That was 2 years ago.My other car, a 2012 Kia Soul with 70,000 miles recently had the dreaded check engine light come on. I figured no problem, Kia has a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty, right? Wrong! Turns out a defective camshaft position sensor is not covered. Cartown Kia ordered the part ($130) and set up an appointment to replace it for $150. CIA is about a mile from the Kia dealer so I stopped by and tell Erik what was going on. He told me to bring it in when I get the part, which I did and he replaced it and saved me over $100.Now this was like asking a surgeon to put a bandaid on a scratch because if you look at CIAs facebook page these guys go deep into all sorts of engine, transmission, electrical, modifications etc. work. He also has a new state of the art alignment ramp.I will never take either of my cars anywhere else. I should apologize for such a simple easy repair. These guys can do it all. I was extremely dissatisfied with my 3 week project which turned into a 3 month project over Central Import Authority. Here are the main issues I had:-There is now a large dent on my rear bumper that was not there before. Now I have to pay to replace the entire panel. Erik, the owner, does not want to assume responsibility because “his employees said they didn’t do it”. Yeah, seems believable. I know for a fact the truck was moved on an almost daily basis and parked on the street because Erik has so many cars backlogged, he doesn’t have room on his lot for many customer cars. I wonder how a dent could happen which this brilliant system in place?-This entire process took nearly double the time estimated with Erik putting many walk-in appointments ahead of my vehicle. At least two weeks went by after all of the parts had arrived before work began. There are cars on his lot that have been there over six months with no work being completed. He said that he prioritizes vehicles based on how badly the customer needs the vehicle back instead of the usual “first in, first out” approach. Sure makes me feel special!-Several parts and labor time was added on the final invoice that I did not approve. I paid it, regrettably, because I wanted my vehicle back after having spent over triple the time waiting on it as originally promised.-The power mirrors do not fold in. I paid for the mirrors to be installed properly and they were not.-The headlights do not turn on and off automatically. I paid for proper installation of the headlights.-The grille does not line up with the hood. The panel gap is off by at least 3/4 of an inch. It looks terrible. I paid for the grille to be installed properly.-The stitching on the dash is damaged. It was not damaged before.-The front sensors were not installed in the front bumper. I expected this to be part of the install for the front bumper. Now the parking system does not function.I took the truck back to Central Import for an estimated five days so that these issues could be resolved. After TWO WEEKS had passed with several texts and calls ignored, Erik called me to inform me he was done working on my truck and to come pick it up. He was extremely rude and said he did not want to work on it anymore and hung up twice. He called me a liar and used several profanities. To my dismay. I discovered absolutely no work had been done in the two weeks at their shop. What a spectacular waste of time.I would not take a Hyundai Daewoo into this shop with 500,000 miles. It’s disorganized, overpriced, and absolute chaos. Not to mention, unprofessional. I don’t think anything has ever been finished on time in the history of this entire operation.

Erik is a car doctor! He has run the business since he was 17 starting from his parents garage. Great family man! Super honest even when he or his staffs make mistakes, they will be honest about it and be responsible about it. His price is fair and does so much work from messed-up dealer works or other shops works. He saved me thousands of dollars from dealer and other shops work to work on my Audi radiator, ac, breaks, paint, and everything! He is respectful with his attitude and his words. People who leave bad reviews usually are the one who trying to screw with his business! Erik and his business are professional, reputable, locally own, respectful, and honest!And responding to Tom Harper and his fiancé Anne Scott Hopkins’ Review:This guy sounds very selfish and trying to screw with Eriks business. I knew Erik went and picked up Toms MELTED truck all the way from Atlanta back to Kentucky for cheap because he said he was just helping a friend. But Tom Harper keeps pushing Erik to do all the works in hurry and expects his truck to be 100% brand new! He called and texted every day, even the body shop were very disturbed by Tom who kept asking if his car is done. He expects the car to be done in 3 weeks where some parts need to be ordered and take days to arrive. He is not the only customer from these shops. He tried to screw with Erik by accusing him putting dents and marks on the trucks bumper and dashboard that were already there. He accused Erik with profanity that is not true especially if you know Erik. Eriks business (Central Import Authority, LLC) has been around for so long and he has so many customers whove been coming for 10-20 years. His shop and his name are reputable and those people who leaving bad reviews and names are the one who trying to screw with Eriks business.

The owner Erik is everything youd want in a car mechanic. Hes honest, fair, and if you find yourself interested in your own vehicle, hell invite you back in the shop to take a look at the problem yourself.

Terrific work, honest service and fair prices. Dealing with car problems can be anxiety-inducing and expensive. Ive had an older Subaru that has required a fair amount of love over the past year or so, but know things are going to be shipshape with it after it leaves this shop. Highly recommend

Very honest and thorough mechanic. I took my 05 STI to have my engine rebuilt and it came out just as new as the day I bought it. You can not go wrong in bringing your vehicle here.

I decided to try them out because they were closer to home and did not leave disappointed. All of their employees know what theyre doing and know what theyre talking about (VWs can be unusual to work on), and they have very reasonable prices. I look forward to doing business again in the future.

Very knowledgeable and trustworthy. Also the local BMW shop charges $100-$150 per hour and these guys are much more reasonable - check with them before spending any money at the dealer!!!

I cannot more highly recommend Central Import Authority. I recently had a bad encounter with a local Subaru dealership when I took it in for since routine maintenance. I was told that my perfectly running car had suddenly overnight started not running so perfect and needed a major repair. Needless to say, trust was lost. Upon recommendation from friends and others in the Subaru community, I contacted Erik. He was honest and knowledgeable, and was very good about keeping me updated. During his inspection he found a broken spark plug installed by the dealer which was the cause of my problem that they claimed required a $385 in parts + unknown labor costs. I will now take all of my vehicles to Central Import Authority. Thank you Erik!
